Dangerous roll of corrugated steel left at the end of the pier that I walked into and tore my trousers that can’t be repaired. Also I’m disabled, and I suffered an open wound to my back leg (I have lymphoedema) so a bit ridiculous. Clearly a health & safety hazard. I’ve left a message on the pier owners voicemail.

Although quite attractive from a distance, this pier, like Brighton Pier, looked rather tacky up close. The Victorian architecture was interesting and the Victoria Tea Rooms looked much more appealing than the array of shops and 'family amusements' that left us cold. However, young children, carefully supervised, might think it was a wonderful experience. There were some nice views back toward the shore.

Gobsmackingly high prices in the Victorian Tea Shop. £3 for a small Americano and a smidgen of milk. £3 for one PG tips tea-bag in a 'pot of tea for one.' And the staff - managed by a temp. student - need to smile. Customer service costs nothing even if the drinks are over-priced. BTW don't even thing of the prices of the small portions of cakes. Toilet opens directly into the seating area - yuck!!

It is difficult and expensive to park anywhere close to the pier so I went for a walk during the evening at about 10pm. The pier was very dark and deserted. Many of the rooms and buildings were empty and obviously not in use for anything. I had read about a night club at the end but no sign of it at all during an August evening. There seemed to be a bar which might have been open but had no one inside. It seems reasonably well maintained but without any attractive activities I cannot see how it can continue for very long.

Me and my colleagues decided to arrange a Christmas Party for us to celebrate together. So, we got together 14 of us and booked a day with the Ocean Suit (Eastbourne Pier) and paid a deposit of £10 per person with the remaining to be paid on the day of the party. We originally booked for 23rd November then they asked us to change the date to 30th November which we agreed then 2 weeks before they asked us to change again to 7th December which this time we couldn't make it and asked for our refund back. We had some comunication about this matter with them but as the time approached they stopped responding to us and we ended up not having the party neither our money back. We never heard from them again, although we attempted to contact them via email and message them on they Facebook page, a completely silent! For them it may not be a lot of money but for some of the people who paid it is more than what they get for a hour of they work. Customer service and principal is a big ZERO!

The sales pitch was to view the Airbourne displays at the Ocean Suite. "On Friday 18th August we will be hosting a corporate luncheon". "Both Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th we will be having a BBQ for all the family. A perfect day for all the family". With that promise to have seats to view the flying displays and enjoy a BBQ, we booked two tickets in February for the display in August. A week before the event, we received an email from the ;Event Manager' that there would be a Table Plan. When we arrived at the Ocean Suite (1) there was no Table Plan (2) they had ousted the families in favour o all the tables with views cordoned off for a corporate luncheon. The loud mouthed incompetent 'Event Manager' said the corporates had paid a lot of money and that we the families had no rights. Her customer attitude was abysmal. She could not care less. Eventually another 'manager' showed us to a trestle table outside where we sat and shivered. The corporates were given priority to the BBQ. And only then we were allowed to serve ourselves to paper plates and plastic knives and forks and food. As always the air display was superb. But, never again will I set foot in that disgraceful place on Eastbourne Pier.

We had taken the bus down the coast from Brighton for the day and, while walking the pier, came upon this tea house. We thought this would be a nice place for an afternoon snack as it was quite lovely inside. We weren't in the mood for "high tea" but ordered tea, coffee, and a couple of sandwiches that sounded good. Our tea and coffee arrived, and we sat for over 20 minutes waiting for the sandwiches. We finally decided we were over the wait and when my husband went to the register to cancel the sandwiches, he found they had never been ordered. No wonder the staff kept glancing in our direction. You expect wait staff to understand the order they've been given and this was quite a disappointing experience.

I visited the pier with my 11 year old son in September. There has been a refit since a recent fire. The arcade that is there, was not maned by any staff, so when coins got stuck there was no chance of return.Although the pier does look nice (apart from the awful tacky gold on the tower tops) there is now not a lot to do on the pier and a lack of shops that used to be entertaining and fun for children. We walked along to the end, the views are really good and we definitely had fun, but the pier it self could be greatly improved. It was still a nice little trip but more entertainment would have made it better.

A beautiful Victorian pier, thankfully restored now after a horrific fire. Sadly it had lost its main building and there is now a large wooden deck.
