The best pub in Brighton. Table 666 has our heart. EST forever. Pubbl points for the win but just a perfect vibe. In fact I might get 666 tattooed because I love this pub so much. Daniella might hurt me but worth it.

I used to love going to East Street Tap, especially for their alternative nights and the music – it had a proper vibe and felt like a place where you'd always discover something new or just lose yourself in a decent emo/punk set. Sadly, it's gone seriously downhill. The DJ sets now are just messy – no flow, random track choices, and it feels more like someone's first night learning how to mix rather than a curated alt night. The emo night, which used to be one of the highlights, is just not worth it anymore. Feels like it’s trying to cash in on a scene it doesn't understand anymore. It’s a shame, because this place used to have heart. Now it just feels like a weak imitation of what it was.

Great pub near the seafront. Decent selection of beers, and always seem to be playing good music. Didn’t even realise there was an upstairs area until my last visit, and has a fun photo booth.

Very odd interaction from door staff who seemed to be on a trial shift as he needed to confer with a superior. On the arrival of the supervisor he gave no other explanation other than a standoffish response for which he told us to just go home if we didn’t like it. For context we had gone for a steak dinner at Kindling and wanted a dive bar aesthetic that was portrayed by the EST. The door staff were obv wet behind the ears and incapable of performing an adequate service if we were rejected. AVOID

Was put off by the bouncers at the door. After a great meal at Kindling a few doors down, we decided to visit East Street Tap. One bouncer looked us up and down to the extent that it was almost comical. Another bouncer joined him and we asked ‘what’s the issue?’ His reply was extremely defensive, where he stated ‘If you don’t like it go elsewhere’…. So we did. A very strange welcome!

Hugely recommend this pub. The staff are so lovely and friendly. The security guard is lovely and the DJ was incredible. Amazing night!

Overall an okay bar, incredibly empty for a Friday, we were the only ones there, which felt a bit awkward. The toilets are horrendous, dirty, puddles on the floor and graffiti everywhere. No soap either. Music was also loud.

Lovely amount of drink options and very lovely staff who had a lot of knowledge of the beverages they had to offer.

Last night was a VIBE! Music was on point, it was busy but had a great crowd. Really good selections of craft beer and lager too Will be returning soon :)

A vibrant selection of drinks aswell as great party lighting! Coming here when im allowed out the house is honestly the highlight of my week.

Well known local pub with plenty of craft beer on. Couldn't see any ale or hand pumps. Friendly service.

I didn't have food, drinks were fine... Bar smells kind of bad abit like a wet dog soaked in yeasty beer. Mens toilets were pretty bad but I can't really complain about the staff

Great experience! We sat outside in the sun and saw the ocean. Had a great Drink or two. The staff was appropriate friendly. The loo is very Clean. We sat there twice and there was a great Playlist as well. Like two hours and No annoying Techno or Pop stuff! Perfect!

Damn man. It has such potential! I had been following the launch of Dirty Dog on insta and was excited to go. The food itself was good - hot dogs were tasty but man the service sucked. If it was just one thing we maybe could have excused it but we had to witness two employees behind the bar chat and eat crisps whilst complaining about taking our order. Then food was served kinda cold without napkins and all different times. I had to go down and ask for a napkin and then was just pointed to a pile of them on a random table with only a few left. If your literally name is dirty dogs maybe preempt that people will want some kitchen roll on tables. I guess our final straw was already mentioned in reviews here. There were three of us at the table only one of us took them up on a free pint offer and what followed kinda soured our whole night. We weren't told it was only for Red Stripe so he orders what he actually wants give the token and walks off. Then the guy behind the bar starts shouting that he hasn't paid. We explain the misunderstanding and then even offer to pay for the wrongly poured pint and it leads to the guy who poured the pint being very rude and smashing the more expensive beer glass. Giving him the benefit of the doubt it was an accident but no apology from anyone caused a bit of an unnecessary drama that was obviously seen by other people in the bar. Shoutout to CutiePies and Fries at The Star and Garter around the corner if you are looking for a good example of a food pop up in a pub that slaps ✨️

Had a great meal here, bar staff are friendly and chatty, and service is quick and accommodating. Loads of vegan options for hot dogs and fries as well as beers so I felt really accommodated! Would definitely recommend.

Man with hat an tattoos was awful and should not be working in customer service he was rude and unhelpful and also smashed a glass when another customer got confused when he didn’t tell them the free beer with the hot dogs was only red stripe and proceeded to shout at them in front of multiple people which I can imagine is quite embarrassing no one should be treated like this I recommend getting new bar staff or you will mostly likely lose a lot of customers!

Was asked to leave a 5 star review for a free pint, which I never got anyway, so thought I'd leave an honest review. Good selection on the menu and the flavour combinations really work. I had the Chilli Dog. The others had the Mushroom Dog and the Embers Special Dog. We ordered sides of Slaw and Cheesy Chips to share. It was nice, but far from amazing. I love what they're trying to do here but the sausage is far too small. I know you can pay extra to add another sausage, but at nearly £10 a pop, the 3 of us agreed we would expect a lot more meat in the sausage to bun ratio, making the whole thing a bit expensive for what it is. Also I really can't understand why the guys at Filthy Dog have chosen this venue to work out of. The tables were filthy and full of empty glasses and empty food wrappers. There were more staff than punters when we went in. I asked the guy behind the bar with the tattoos and baseball cap on how the first weekend had been going for them, and he couldn't have seemed less interested and shrugged his shoulders. Also hitting the dirty glasses loudly with a spoon over and over and over again was very annoying. If I was depending on the staff at EST to be promoting my product, then I'd be massively disappointed. Wouldn't rush back to have the hotdogs, at least not at this venue anyway.

The vibe is immaculate, the staff are very friendly and the vegan selction is top notch. I'll definitely be back.

Tried the new hot dogs - I had a "sexy mushroom" and cheesy chips. Tasted great but in retrospect I wish I'd gone for the extra dog because it was quite thin and gone too quick!

Banging new food spot. Actually butcher made hot dogs , none of that emulsified tech meat, served on freshly baked brioche rolls. Rich flavors and fun recipes with plenty of cheese - real parm that. The prices are competitive and match the delivered quality. Get your glizzy on here
