A small fish and chip shop in the heart of East Ayton. Delicious. Everything is cooked fresh when you order. The staff are polite, happy and serve delicious food. Highly recommended.

Best fish and chips I’ve ever had , lucky to be around some great chip shops in Fife 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿, but this haddock and chips was the best I’ve had , the batter ! 1 big thick piece of fish . Good price for great fish and chips

What a great fishery always time for a smile and a chat plus the fish are excellent too. Easy parking at the petrol station opposite which is also handy for the Spar shop and Post Office

Really love the fish here, even when busy the staff always say hello and time for a chat if you want one. Easy parking over the road but getting across the road by the petrol station can be a bit fraught !

Delicious fish and chips! Very busy shop but lovely staff and worth the wait. Good sized portions and reasonably priced too.

Great little chip shop. Ordered 2 medium cod &chips curry sauce &mushy peas. Absolutely fantastic. Just 4 doors from where we were staying in East Ayton

I'm not entirely sure how this operation works, perhaps it's a Scarborough thing. We ordered for our 8 year old daughter what clearly has on the menu board behind the counter a 'Cheeseburger' when we received our order my wife brought it back to the car and said she thought something was missing, she notices that my large chips were missing and starts checking other things, she opens up the 'Cheeseburger', you know, in most locations in the UK a burger with cheese on top. This was a battered burger, in the Midlands these are on the menu as a battered burger! So I went back over as our daughter is a fussy eater and asked the server about the chips and explained we had a battered burger not a cheeseburger... She explains that this is what it is. Kind of perplexed I had £20 worth of food going cold that we were meant to take back to our holiday site so I asked for a plain sausage, they had to cook this and that's another £1.90 lost to the holiday budget because they have what I belive a poor description of a burger! But like I said maybe it's a Scarborough thing. Being the fat one of the family I decided to try the battered burger to see if perhaps the cheese was there somewhere? As it wasn't very visible! To my horror and again perhaps this is a battered burger thing not having one before but the burger exploded into a mesh of junk from the centre which was to be frank disgusting looking. Kind of like the inside had disintegrated to pure liquid. I think the sight of this tainted everyone elses meal which wasn't the best, the only saving grace is the chips were nice but tainted by the sight of the burger. Please note, the photo is shown with some of the batter removed this was done by myself...

Want to find a great fish and chip shop whilst you're in Scarborough? Take the short drive to East Ayton and get them from there, you won't regret it. Always excellent service with great food and generous portions and there is always a queue out of the door which speaks volumes.

Fantastic service provided when an order was placed for 13 adults & 20 children. They went above and beyond for our order, placing each person's orders in separate bags, sending sauces etc. The food was delicious! We were all very impressed. 😊

I had a delicious haddock and chips at East Ayton Fisheries, in the centre of the village, opposite the Spar store. The fish was fried fresh and was lovely and crispy and tasty. The service was quick and friendly. It’s a busy place, spotlessly clean, with plenty of customers, which is always a good sign and a recommendation in itself. Writing this has reminded me how good it was and my digestive juices are anticipating the return visit.

Tiny fish and chip shop, but definitely worth a visit. Best fish and chips we've had in ages, better than that swanky expensive restaurant in Whitby with the bird name, if you know what I mean. Reasonably priced and with friendly service. Worth queueing for.

We were staying at the nearby caravan site and had tried to book into the “posh” fish and chip place which was fully booked. We rolled up here and just in time for the last two fish! The fish and chips couldn’t have been nicer, the most beautiful thick white fish, perfectly cooked! This will in future be our first choice! Also, the staff were so friendly and there was a good bit of banter with the customers. Thank you, a good new discovery.

First time visiting this chip shop, friendly staff and a reasonable choice of menu. I decided to have chips, battered sausage and curry sauce. The food was hot and delicious, would definitely eat from there again.

We stopped on the Jacobs Mount Caravan Park and its literally a straight road all the way down the hill from there, down to East Ayton - just after/before the Denison Arms. Its only small inside but always full, which shows how good it is. The fish & chips + scraps were excellent and all the staff happily talk away to the customers. Great find this one, will definitely return next year and is hard to separate this and North Bay Fisheries for quality.

Takeaway chippy. Recommended by a fellow caravanner at Wykeham. Should have tried these before as we drive past most days we are here. Excellent cod, chips and mushy peas (with scraps ). Other choices available on the menu. Lovely and crisp batter. Not greasy at all and fish chunky and was just about too long for a large plate! Can't praise the East Ayton Fisheries as highly as they deserve. It may be a very small shop but they serve huge quality and value for money. The people serving were very friendly and efficient. Fish fried to order. We will now be regular customers!

Another lovely tea for my family, everything is cooked to order so always fresh. Yes you have a short wait for food but it is worth it. You can always ring your order through.

We live locally so have enjoyed many fish and chip suppers from East Ayton Fisheries. Always of a high standard - the fish is delicious and well cooked. I always have fish, but there is a good choice on the menu. My daughter usually has the homemade chicken nuggets which ate absolutely lovely and as far removed as it is possible to be from the cheap frozen nuggets served in some places! Generous portions and smiling, helpful, polite service! Highly recommend!

I’m not normally a fan of fish and chips - they almost never taste as good as they smell and usually leave you feeling overly full and underwhelmed. But the fish and chips cooked here are simply amazing. Fish cooked fresh to order as you step in the door. Lovely light, crispy batter. Neither the fish nor the chips were at all greasy. Spot on. If we didn’t live 4 hours away, we’d call again. Highly recommended.

Had to wait 10 minutes, but fish cooked to order. Batter was really nice and first time my two teenage children tasted scraps (which they really liked). Look forward to visiting again when I next visit family in Scarborough.

After been put off fish and chips from another place they have restored my faith in fish and chips, and vinegar that tastes of vinegar! Huge portion of chips and that will make me go back as there is nothing worse than getting a little portion! Friendly and polite owners, highly recommend

Well we tried here after a couple of recommendations and very glad we did! They cooked the fish exactly how I asked for it, and a lot of chip shops struggle with this! The chip portion size is very good and the vinegar tastes of vinegar! Friendly polite owners. We will be back. Highly recommend

We visited this by chance a few miles from where we stayed the first night they had sold out of food,so we were dissapointed, but thought we would give it another go another night, we were very glad that we did! Loved the haddock and chips and mushy peas and scraps (great)

found this place from its reviews on here, gave it a try and I must say it was the best fish and chips I have had in a very long time, had to wait a little time but only because they were so busy but your food is cooked from scratch and good value loved that you get scraps with it, but I know them as scratchings. batter bits to everyone that does not know what I am on about

We have just finished our fish & chip suppers. Absolutely lovely. Well fried, crispy battered cod, delicious chips and peas. All served with a smile, in a courteous friendly way by the two ladies attending to our orders. Everything is cooked to order so therefore very hot and fresh. The cooking by a man and assisted by the two ladies. Excellent.

We had fish and chips from this place last night and they were superb. We're staying at a nearby hotel and when my partner returned with them they were still super hot. A separate box of the lovely little crispy bit. I cover my fish...

We get our takeaway from here regularly it never disappoints. Friendly efficient staff, reasonable prices great food. We pass another chippy to get to it as its by far the best in the area. Restaurant and takeaway are always busy.

Another lovely tea from East Ayton Fisheries. Fresh cooked scampi with chips and peas for us both. As it is fresh fried lovely and hot by the time we got home.

This is our regular fish and shop as it is in our village. The fish and patties are cooked to order so is always at there best. You could always telephone a order in if you are in a hurry. We have never had a bad meal from this shop, it is always of the highest quality served by lovely staff.

Have been coming here a long time since a child, always lovely good quality fish and the chips are spot on! I am a food snob and limited myself to many places to eat in Scarborough but this is a must fish and chip shop! Always lovely and friendly, portion size is good aswel. See you again soon.

Great service, the food is beautiful, they also make home made pies and offer a range of alternatives to the classic fish and chips. I would recommend booking as it can get busy, particularly at the weekend.

My closest chippy with parking across the road - they also take telephone orders which is great as I am a 10 minute drive away so never have to wait long. Food is good, ample portion sizes - quite friendly though in fairness they are usually too busy for conversation ;)
