Excellent service and very happy to take dogs great story about ghostly haunted pub and happy staff will defo go again!.

We had booked a table for 2.30 pm. We got our starter fairly quickly, but our main didn't arrive until 17.10. When it did my turkey was delicious, although I didn't get any stuffing or pigs in blankets, probably because we were given them between the starter and the main. My friend's steak was overcooked and cold, he would have normally sent it back but after waiting so long he didn't want to let go of his plate. We eventually took our deserts to go, as we had arranged to meet family and friends at 5pm and were already very late. Had it have been another day of the year we would have left and asked for a full refund, but there was nowhere to go. Also I believed that I was meant to receive a £15 voucher to use next year? I appreciate that the staff were under pressure and probably trying their best, although we personally didn't really receive any explanation while we were waiting. We only realised that there was a problem when told by the guests at the next table. A very disappointing Christmas day.

Supposably an ancient pub, but didn't feel great atmosphere or food was average! Like seating area indoors and mainly outside seating nice, staff fairly friendly but could improve.

Pub is ok but prices of drinks are very expensive

Had christmas dinner here, the 3 courses was lovely I would recommend if you are not cooking at home. The bar staff was very attentative and even thanked the chef afterwards. All round a great atmosphere, amazing food and drinks thank you all so much for today much appreciated.

This is the first time I have been out out for Christmas lunch (yes, out out 🤣🤣) and it was lovely! I dined out on my own (my loving family understanding my reasoning 😍) and I was made to feel so welcome from the minute I stepped in the door. The food was great (thank you chef and kitchen staff) and a big shout out to Emily & Courtney. You made me feel so at ease and you were both so welcoming, attentive and kind! I will definitely be back toThe Druids Head for Christmas!! 😍 You are a great asset to the pub industry x

Great traditional olde world pub really nicely decorated for the festive period. Great atmosphere with lots of people having fun and laughter, good service and a nice touch putting info on the buildings history on the table.

Turkey Christmas lunch , absolutely the worst meal I have ever eaten. Turkey Roll ( not Turkey ) dry ' roof tile stuffing ' , Carrots,not cooked ,Brussel sprouts like bullet's.Our plates where served to the wrong table then brought to us several minutes later.

Only called in for quick drink, but loved the atmosphere. Will call again when more time allows.

I was killing time yesterday waiting to meet up with some friends and thought this place looked cool. I was right. I sat outside but the inside looked amazingly comfortable. Seemed like a friendly and laid back crowd. The people that work there were genuinely nice and the beer was good, too. Hopefully I'll get another chance to drop in while I'm in Brighton and try the food.

Lovely meet up with friends we haven’t seen for a year. We had reserved a table for 7 and it was cleaned and reserved for us in good time, despite the pub being busy. I ordered chicken Kiev and it was clearly made from scratch. Delicious and well presented. We had loaded nachos to start- we shared two between 6 and that was plenty. One person ordered salt and pepper squid and raved about it. Other things we enjoyed were fish and chips and burgers - all highly recommended

Very Christmassy atmosphere. Loving the decorations- very traditional and elegant. Staff were very happy and smiley with everybody and the place was spotless. We just stopped for drinks while we were Christmas shopping today but we will definitely be back for food another time- it looked delicious and people appeared to be really enjoying their meals. Whole ambience was Christmassy and welcoming.

Nice pub from 300 to 400 years ago. The building, not the Beer or Wine and spirits or hopefully bar snacks. All freshly delivered. Good choice of Beers Ciders Wine and Spirits, Nice atmosphere 👌 Even the large number of fish n chips being eaten by the 4 Spanish people Didn't make the Plaice less appealing, or should that be Apollocking !!. Well, I Haddock time to go now, as my 🦀 are itching Definitely a Plaice to add to your pub places to go in Brighton. Easy place to find it's so easy. it's a piece of cake (a fish cake). Everyone is a cracker . (Or Crustacean)

My first time visiting the druids head but me and my partner had a wonderful experience. Food was fabulous, we visited on Saturday afternoon/evening and the staff were great. Tamvir and Ava were extremely friendly throughout and would be the reason I will be going back.

Famous pub, loads of seating outside in the heart of the Lanes. Claims to be the most haunted pub in Brighton. They play up to this as well in a good way. Ok on the beer selection but not a craft haven. Great location.

Got a pint of coke from Here and it didn’t taste like it had any syrup in it and I went back to the barman saying it don’t taste of anything just carbonated water the bartender poured himself a little bit said it tasted fine it was not fine it just tasted of carbonated water thought it was rude for him to pour himself one in the first place

Fantastic service and lovely cosy atmosphere we always love the vibe here we had drinks Saturday and booked for the famous sunday roast!food is lovely we had roast and dessert on Sunday.Drinks and service are very good thanks to Courtney and team for making our visit welcoming, we love popping in on our visits to Brighton we was there for paul weller Fantastic service 😀

Atmospheric pub in the Laines. Good selection of draft beers (but like all GK pubs, they no longer have Flint Eye on draft - please GK, bring Flint Eye back!). Tables outside at the front great for people watching. Staff / service very good. One of my two favourite pubs in Brighton.

It took 45 mins for our food to come to our table! We were assured they were just plating it up and nice and not!!!! Well it was nice and cold!!! What a joke!!!

I just Wanted to take the time and write a review for The Druids located in The Lanes, Brighton. Particularly the lovely staff who welcomed everyone into the inviting old feel Pub. The Druids has an interior to match the outside, the history of the building is clear and obvious for any visitor to see and feel. The Druids offer a set but varied food menu, there is not a particular allocated eating area as such, you can take a table, and order at the bar. I was welcomed and served by Courtney, who was welcoming, efficient and humorous. Courtney was mindful to ask about any known allergies before processing food orders. She advised on the offered dishes as well as offering ideas for alternate choices. Courtney is an obvious asset to the company, she managed cheerful chat and banter with customers, both visitors to Brighton as well as obvious regulars. She provided great customer service in between taking and running food orders to tables, bar service and clearing of tables. All done while making customers feel they came first.  The pub held a good mix of ages, the atmosphere was light and friendly, somewhere I can certainly recommend. Courtney especially, thank you for providing a 5* service,  you were defiantly the star of our visit.  We would recommend The Druids based solely on your wonderful hospitality.

Popped into a packed Druids Head on our way out to a local restaurant. Quick friendly service despite it being so busy, really good to see everyone enjoying themselves like the good old days standing up having fun chatting and drinking. And the level head was just right. I will be back for more.

This has been by far the worst roast I’ve had in my life, everything was microwaved, the Yorkshire puddings were burnt, the amount of food on the plate was to small for the price they charge. We sent the food back and got refunded. The plus side was that the staff were very lovely.

Came in on the 22nd September for a roast lunch with 3 friends, having 3 roast beef meals and 1 roast chicken. The food was outstanding, alongside really friendly and welcoming staff in an enjoyable pub atmosphere. Would definitely come again!

I'm surprised by the negative reviews. I was just there 4 days ago and we thought the food was excellent. We had the steak and ale pie and the pea and mint soup. Both were very good and very flavorful. The pie was by far more flavorful than anything I'd had in London. The soup as well, very rich and delicious. It was a little rowdy inside, but I also enjoyed feeling like I was sitting in the local neighborhood's favorite spot.

Nice friendly pub, welcoming staff and a nice place to just sit, chill and talk with friends and family. Well worth a visit.

My family and I stopped by The Druids Head on the 28th June 2024 around 1730 hours. Whist I ordered drinks my family found a quiet table, not too much of a problem at that time. Our food order was taken at the table and we relaxed sipping our drinks. A staff member busied herself collecting empty glasses from the afternoon's proceedings and stared at me and my family. Clearly she was troubled and walked up to me demanding ID. I gave her my driving licence but she wanted ID for my kids too. I don't tend to walk around carrying passports since many local businesses insist on collecting for NGO which have in turn made the whole area a little third world, and all the increased security issues that go with illigal immigration. Since I was unable to prove they were 25 she insisted on confiscating my son's empty glass and my daughters beer. I said no choosing instead to drink it myself. I was informed we could continue with the meal with soft drinks. Fed up with her attitude I decided on a full refund instead. Whilst processing the refund I asked her when the legal age to consume alcohol had been raised in England. After three attempts with the same question it turns out the legal age hasn't changed and it is just a local pub agreement to stop rowdy youngsters. One again, my children were well behaved and under full parental guidance and it was only 1730 hrs. Having completed the transaction and receiving a full refund of £71.10 I returned to the table to finish that excellent beer. I replaced the chairs to their place and returned the empty glasses to the bar. One thing left to do was to walk out, past shocked punters and a bloke behind the bar shaking his head. I heard a "sorry" as I closed the front door. I have attached valid drinking laws which your staff might like to inwardly digest to avoid any such further embarrassing episodes. I must say however, that pint was the best pint I have tasted in years.

Just had a couple of drinks. The staff were fun.

Arrived at 12:15 for a drink and to grab a sandwich as menu looked reasonable. Website stated food from 12noon. We asked to order some food to be told the kitchen didn’t open until 1pm which was over a 40minute wait. We decided to wait and have a drink and at 1pm we ordered from the Green King App. We were then visited at our table, rather grumpily I might add, by one of the barmen to say the chef had done no prep so our sandwich would take at least 40mins to come out!! I was a bit lost for words but as we’d paid by Apple Pay we had no choice but to wait. There were lots of other people getting fed up after also waiting and then to be told most of the menu, including chips(!) were not available. Go elsewhere as the sandwich wasn’t worth waiting for either and lack of customer service was shocking. Very poor way to run a pub kitchen.

One of my favourite pubs in Brighton! Great for an after work drink and relax whilst in the Lanes. Staff all lovely and attentive and create a great atmosphere.

The place is full of character with friendly staff. Sadly for me, that's where the good points ended. I ordered the steak and ale pie with chips and gravy. The pastry was so hard on one side that I couldn't cut it, and the filling lacked flavour and seasoning. My daughter had the great cheese toatie. Now, she did ask for it without any of the dressing ( salad bits ) and without the brown sauce. But sadly, it also seemed to be lacking the cheese. It was more like a bèchamel toastie as she couldn't taste any cheese, nor could we see it. My husband had the best dish as he enjoyed his burger. There seems to be a lot of competition in the area, and I wish we kept looking. We got a table without any hassle, and the service was fast, but £47 for 3 meals and 3 cokes and 2 of us didn't like our meals, I won't be going back.

We love going here the staff are so friendly and helpful.. Me and my partner have tried to get the Philly steak sandwich..today was that day...thanks to Emily she ordered it..the girls behind the bar Emma and Fran were amazing they were on everything no one had to wait.. We coming back..see you all again soon...

Stopped here for lunch while doing the tourist thing around lovely Brighton. The pub had loads of character and we found a seat with no trouble. I had the burger and chips which was tasty but basic, could do with a side salad or something. My wife had the pie and chips which she didn’t like and my daughter had a cheese toastie which was lacking on the cheese, considering it’s the star of the show. With three cokes it can to around £47 which was a bit steep for what you get. But the staff were lovely and the place looked clean and that’s a big bonus. Considering the competition in the area I would recommend a look around.

Really lovely pub centrally located near the laines. Outside seating to the front and large inside area. Dog friendly. Pleasent staff. Food was really tasty and good value for money. We had a the steak ciabatta and BLT with twice cooked chips - all the meat was melt in the mouth. If in Brighton I would recommend for a pit stop.

Fabulous impromptu lunch. I had the pea and mint soup with ciabatta and my partner had the Druids burger. Very busy lunchtime rush managed admirably by the staff. Thanks for another great experience

I had a lovely experience here the service was super quick, the food was delicious, I’m told Joe was the chef who cooked our meal to perfection!

Had a wonderful meal here, couldn’t fault the service particularly the chef Joe who was more than happy to answer any questions I had about the menu.

First time coming here and I was blown away, a lovely service and kindness from the staff out front and the food was outstanding. I asked the waitress for the name of the chef, Joe, the food was absolute perfection, even down to the presentation. So I would like to say thank you Joe, left full and satisfied 😁

I visited Druids Head solo for dinner whilst out and about in Brighton. First impressions were very good, the blonde haired lady who spoke to me (can't remember her name) was very smiley and made you feel right at home I got a drink and ordered food and waited..and waited..and waited.. It was just over half an hour and I hadn't received even my starter so I went up to ask what was happening? Typically just as I go up the Starter I ordered it being brought up It was explained why there was such a long delay, genuine apology given and I was even given a free pint as a goodwill gesture. Following this the starter of Battered Halloumi and main of Mac and Cheese with Garlic Bread were perfectly fine with nothing to grumble about at all! The Battered Halloumi especially was very nice Unfortunately I can't give 5 Star because of the long wait, however how the long wait was dealt with, the food itself and friendly service more then justify giving a 4/5 If I'm back in Brighton, I will visit again to hopefully be able to give a 5. As bar the initial long wait, everything else was just fine

Went there for lack of an alternative for lunch. Had superb fish'n'chips and mussels. Came again the next day. Service was very attentive and friendly.

I came in to grab a quick lunch with some friends and was greeted very kindly by staff, they served my quite quickly and my food came out alot faster than I was expecting, the food was of great quality and I couldn't finish all of my duck hash, I would definitely recommend this place to friends :)

Another visit to our favourite establishment! Manager Emily is always very accommodating and the brummy lass behind the bar is a good laugh! We come for the pints and always stay for the charming staff! Couldn't recommend more.

We were here yesterday after a tiring day and really enjoyed the evening here. A typical pub for me, with a great selection of drinks and down-to-earth good food. One or two things needed to be repaired, but that didn't put a damper on our evening. The staff was super friendly and the price-performance ratio was okay. We would love to come back here👍

A typical Greene King pub. Unfortunately, almost all of the seat cushions are completely damaged. The pub itself is simple and unremarkable. The staff was very nice and accommodating. The drinks are quick and tasty. As always, I wasn't disappointed with the food. The mac and cheese were very tasty, even if the portion seems very small at first impression, it is completely sufficient. As usual, the garlic bread was crispy, well seasoned and tasty. Gladly again.

One of the most welcoming pubs in Brighton , come from London for a nice weekend off to Brighton with my wife spotted this really nice placed pub in middle of the lanes the sitting outside on that sunny day was magical ,went to order few drinks from the bar the lady surprised me with a really warm welcoming , my wife had a cocktail and she agreed that was one of the best while me I love enjoying my beer , we decided to look to the menu and we ordered some food served quickly and it was delicious definitely gonna be my favourite place to go first as soon as I arrive back to Brighton thank you for you professional hospitality.

This is not the the pub you go to if your not white, they serve you badly, under portion your food, and don't expect a little extra virgin oil, or even rapeseed oil with the meagre salad, they serve, which is nothing like the picture, don't expect a smile, and expect the costumers to treat you with equal distain, as this is a white right wing environment, please don't tip, I did, and that's when I finally got a greedy grin. 🤬😡🤬💩

Disappointing, we regularly choose a Greene King pub. This pub was the worst example we have ever been in. 3 of the 4 items we wanted to order were out of stock. No welcome by the staff. There were 4 real ale pumps 3 with labels. Only 1 was available. Ladies loo had no obvious soap and no functioning loo roll holder. Men loo was dark in the corridor. And the only proper loo was out of order. Not a good advert for Greene King.

This is an excellent pub in the lanes. It’s fast becoming one of my favourite places in Brighton for a drink and now a bite to eat. This is one of the oldest pubs in Brighton with a lot of original features. It’s also haunted but yet to see any ghosts. The drink selection is amazing from lagers, IPAs and an extensive selection of spirits. The food here is also very good and freshly made to order. The staff here are also very friendly. The only downside is seating is limited.

I’ve been in here several times recently and the food has always been great.

Food on menu reads as your clissic pub grub - but was executed fantasticly! The nachos & chicken Kyiv was just as good as the less conventional Duck Hash.

I'm not from Brighton or England. I have little reference for an English pub. But I really liked this place and my evening. I was well received, my chicken burger was excellent (but the portion of fries - very standard - and onion rings were small). Excellent singer and good atmosphere!

Great night out with live music and not too loud, good choice of beers.

Comically awful. Apparently a haunted pub. Well I can tell you, I am haunted after my visit. I finished my main before my friend got their starter. My friend ordered starter main dessert and the dessert came first. I had squid and they brought a lemon out after I had finished the squid, which was cold. My medium steak was rare. I ordered a mojito and then gave me tequila and soda. The halloumi was decent though. It’s been 25 minutes and I’m writing this whilst waiting for a friends starter to come. Update: it’s been 33 minutes and still haven’t been asked how my meal was or been offered condiments. Now we have 8 minutes to eat 4 courses before they kick us off for the next reservation.

It’s a nice atmospheric pub that I visited for lunch. I ordered the steak and ale pie. Very disappointing - the pastry was completely dried out, the steak included a big piece of chewy fat that I couldn’t eat. Best part was the mashed potato. I won’t be rushing back

What a lovely quaint pub. We just went in for a drink. But then stayed for lunch. Food was very tasty and Service was good.

Cannot fault this place ever!! The mac and cheese is so worth the money, huge portions and huge side salad. They recently started having really good musicians on during the week which knocks my rating out of the park!

It would have been nice if the steak pie would have had steak in it! It also would have been good if the steak sandwich had steak in it! The sirloin steak looked boiled and the steak in Aldi are bigger and taster!….

Came here with my wife for a pub lunch after a long day of shopping. Food was excellent and couldn't fault the staff as they were very friendly. Not from Brighton and they made us feel very welcome!! Thanks again.

Had dinner here tonight The chicken Kiev was not kievit was just breaded chicken no garlic butter inside and the pue and mash was terrible pie rock hard and it was just a pitiful effort The chef needs getting rid if ifctgats his best effort Stay clear Plus side they dud re fund Shame it's a nice atmosphere nice pub

Popped in after a weird experience as another pub nearby. Knew we would be greeted by friendly bar team who would be able to recommend fresh lagers and give us some banter. Ordered some nachos and my partner had a ribeye steak which was cooked to perfection!

Visited before our ghost walk last night. Was very busy as we walked in, the bar area was rammed but as we got further into the pub the tables were a little quieter and had a nice atmosphere. We booked a table for 6 pm and arrived a little early, there were a couple people enjoying drinks on our table. The bar staff offered us another few tables instead, im Autistic and find busy places difficult to be in sometimes, we explained we would rather our reserved table as it was in the corner and felt more comfortable. The bar staff were more than happy to ask the people on our table to move when it came to 6 pm, I don’t always feel accommodated as someone with autism that “passes” as neurotypical so was very happy that the staff were more than happy to help. My Mac and cheese was really nice. Mum ordered a cheese board, for the price there was a tone of cheese!! Would definitely recommend! Thank you :)
