service was not up to scratch even by pub standards, the food was truly awful. Burgers were dry and had a peculiar taste, not even edible really, very dissapointing.

Booked out the Pub for a 50th Birthday Party for around 50 guests in July 2019, we had a superb evening. Waine and his team were really accommodating, the food was great and plentiful, gardens a real attraction for the kids and atmosphere brilliant. They even had the Cricket World Cup Final on for us as a real bonus! It really was a memorable night. Waine was also happy to be bombarded with emails in the lead up to the party and responded immediately. Loved the fact that they pretty much could cater for our every need and the staff that looked after us on the night deserve special mention as well. Bottom line, if you want somewhere with character, plenty of outdoor space and rural views and great food then its an ideal private party venue for any celebration but also a great pub in its own right.

Mid week visit with friends, nice surroundings, friendly attentive staff in an old fashioned run pub rather than a big chain pub. Cheers

We had an electric cars 5th birthday party for our grandson between 1 and 3pm. 12 of us decided than we were hungry and asked if we could have lunch and even though it was a very busy Sunday lunch time, we only had to wait a short while before all of us were sitting down ordering a lovely roast diner. Lovely staff, wonderful meal, perfect!!

Had lunch with ex colleague recently...very hot but just began to rain on arrival. Waitress suggested we had the table under gazebo, which was spacious and cool. Staff so attentive without being intrusive and our waitress couldn't have been more helpful. Food served promptly and we stayed for 3.5 hours. Never hurried and waitress genuinely helpful. Good menu choice, definitely going back soon with friends.

The sun was shining the garden was inviting and a cool interior in the restaurant. Staff are pleasant , good menu choice, reasonable price.. Small issue in that the wait for the food was a bit too long. But give it a go just have time to relax whilst you wait

Christmas meal was good but lacking atmosphere! The publicans were freindly at the bar but we were in a room on our own so felt isolated!

This pub/restaurant is located in a delightful situation and reopened after a long period of closure. We have visited twice and found the service awful food choice poor and both quality and quantity almost unacceptable. Admittedly the staff adjusted the bill but overcharged for drinks not received. Not a great experience but if this pub could raise its game the setting would make it a winner.

We stoped here for a couple of drinks before our meal at the Everest Spice. First of all we felt very relaxed and the drinks were crisp and clean. The ambience was great and the staff were chatty and pleasant. Only problem was my wife found the toilets to be dark and unwelcoming. The rest of the bar was great.

Such a great spot to get off the high street. Grab lunch, breakfast, coffee and home made cake (and ice cream).I love that it’s owner run and not a chain or an investment business. Sit and eat and let your kids have fun, or enjoy the sounds of the other kids living it up! Dogs are welcome too. (Even big old Dalmatians !)

This has quickly become our favourite local. Friendly staff, great beer and good food. Pizzas are excellent and Leona's Kitchen on a Sunday is fantastic.

First-time visit to The Woodman for a Sunday roast for us. We sat outside in the lovely beer garden – really nice atmosphere. You have to order at the bar if you’re outside, which is fine, just something to be aware of. My wife ordered the lamb shank and I had the trio of meats. The meal came with mash, roast potatoes, veg, and gravy. The gravy on mine was quite sparse compared to the generous portion on the lamb shank, which made it a bit dry. The biggest issue was the roast potatoes – both of us thought they tasted sour, as if they had gone off. Thankfully, there was mashed potato as well, which isn’t always standard, but we were glad to have it since we couldn’t eat the roast potatoes. We mentioned it to the staff when our plates were cleared, but the response was disappointing. One waitress said “oh ok” and walked off, and another said “they wouldn’t be off, they were made yesterday” and did the same. No apology, no interest in our feedback. It felt like our concern was dismissed, which was frustrating. Lovely setting, sadly let down by the food and poor customer service. Hopefully they take this as constructive feedback – we would definitely consider coming back if things improve.
