Dobbies Garden Centre Restaurant in Charnwood

Horrendous manament. Dry cake & got my tea order wrong. Management needs replacing. They make customers feel very awkward

Had booked the offer for 2 for £25 afternoon tea. Staff very friendly and helpful even though it was very busy. Was disappointed in the tea itself as only got 3 finger sandwiches which weren’t appetising , 2 tiny macaroons, a chocolate brownie and 2 scones. There was unlimited tea/ coffee but we had to ask for refills. Not worth it. The garden centre is quite nice.

Very poor. Came as a small family group. Food was delivered sporadically. Some had finished their food, before all the plates had been delivered. Most of the food was cold. The scrambled eggs were hard and chewy. The poached eggs on all meals were basically boiled eggs. And my pet hate, not carried on trays but with hands with a big thumb sitting in the food on all the plates. Really needs improving as it wasn't even busy

Several items on the menu were unavailable. Ordered the sausage and mash - 'seasonal vegetables' were 3 small carrots and two inedible rock hard parsnips pieces. Not a green leaf in sight! Thick powdery gravy which was supposed to be onion flavoured and not a piece of onion in sight either. All just luke warm. No mustard! How can you serve sausage and mash with no mystard? My 3 friends said there meals were equally dismal.

Came here for a afternoon tea staff friendly food great would come again even got some nice plants while I was there would recommended to others

Waited 36 minutes for lunch very disappointing vegetables you could not cut the vegetables so hard service not good it use to very good

Such a shame that the drinks here are not hot enough. Took a drink back because it was warm only. Redone and was much better. By the time I got back to the table my drink was warm. Tried the scones again to see if they had done anything about my complaint direct to their head office. They used to be lovely moist and tasty. Now they are dry crumbly and tasteless. People who work in the cafe are lovely a d a pleasant place to sit and talk. Unfortunately the food and drinks which aren't cheap are not good.

Been greeted with no sausages available.. Waiting time, busy on Sunday, 30min. Though traditional breakfast was nice

Came in for 2 luxury hot chocolates. Jamie Ramsell made it with love and care, and he made our ordering experience thoroughly enjoyable. The hot chocolates were overall good but a bit rich and could’ve done with more marshmallows. Did also spill over the sides but that’s not much of a problem for us. Tray was cleaned up promptly by Jamie Ramsell (best dobbies worker) which showed his effective customer service skills. Overall, our bobbies cafe experience was delightful thanks to Jamie and Emily B on till. Thank you dobbies, we will be returning 💚

There were 9 of us, on a reserved table in the outdoor area, and we felt well looked after by the staff. We hadn't met there in a while, and liked the revamped outdoor seating area. There was a good choice of food (my toastie was very good!); some of us had lunch, others had tea and cake, and everyone seemed happy with the food. Time spent queuing was a bit of a pain, but only to be expected over lunchtime. It's a shame there is no outdoor access to the seating area anymore, as it stopped a couple of people from joining us (as for medical reasons they can't be vaccinated against CoViD-19). When someone in our group felt faint and unwell, the staff were particularly kind and helpful.
