Dickens Inn in Tower Hamlets

This was such a great spot. I've been a couple of times. Amazing setting, food and kind staff. I love coming here and bringing visiting friends!

Nice place (we were there for a seminar) and also a superb summer watering hole with lively crowds.

Went to restaurant on the 2nd floor! The service and atmosphere were great and the place was very clean! The starters and mains we got were all very good. The only critic I have is for the berry and apple crumble dessert, it was really just fruit with oats on top and neither were seasoned well unfortunately. The other food was amazing though so it won't put me off from coming again!

A rebuilt pub. Large with little atmosphere. A venue for work parties in the dockyard. I had a decent pint, but no food.

Great place to be near tower bridge! lovely staff and a great atmosphere. drinks are a little on the high side but it's London. we only stayed for drinks.

Booked for Sunday roast,wasn't available. Order Fish and chips The batter was soggy and hardly any fish inside. They gave me a refund.

Once a destination in St Katherine's Dock, now very much a chain pub atmosphere. Large bars and eating areas but many genuine historic pubs better to visit

Hidden in s.katrines dock. A place to absolutely visit. The place is large, self-service, that is, you order at the counter, get a drink and they bring your dishes to you.

I have known the restaurant for more than 30 years. Initially as a local, now as an “in” restaurant. Still rustic and wonderfully authentic.

A pub that takes you back in time, in a location that seems to have remained unchanged over the years. Not to be missed, the best of all.

Moon provided great service. He accommodated my gluten and dairy allergies by confirming which entrees could be modified and chosen. The food was delicious and nice atmosphere. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Good atmosphere. Yhe food looked good. Love to go back there again. Only disadvantage the toilets at the basement. Otherwise good place to get together with friends and family.

It was a beautifull place, but the food was not good, it was burned and thatswhy not yummy. They see that the burger patty was burned, but they despite it put the patty on the burger. The service was not good, because they wanted to close the store faster. A bad experience!!!

Popped in for a drink. It was late morning, so pretty quiet. Friendly bar man who poured a nice pint of guiness. The pub is currently having work done, but don't let the scaffolding outside put you off, it's still really nice inside.

Man at the bar was super rude, asked where my accent from, told him it was a London accent and proceeded to call me a foreigner. Don’t think I’ll be back anytime soon. How rude. Good to know staff at this pub think it’s okay to call people foreigners!! :)

Been before and had a delicious meal again. Salmon Teriyaki and Steak, highly recommended! And don't forget the Sticky toffee pudding with vanilla sauce, delicious. Great and fast service by Moon, thank you! Beautiful location, on the harbor near Tower Bridge and The Tower of London.

Second time at The Dickens Inn Grill and wonderful once again! Took a friend for her first fish and chips and she loved it. Moon was the perfect waiter and recommended the sticky toffee pudding - delicious! Will keep coming back.

We recently got married at The Dickens Inn and it was amazing! We had such a great day thanks to the staff making it completely stress free and accommodating. It is such a great venue in an incredible location. Also, all of our guests raved about the food. Leading up to it our contact Agata was incredible and so helpful with any questions/requirements that we had. It was such a great day, and we love that we can now come and celebrate at The Dickens Inn for years to come. A brilliant wedding venue !

I love this place. I've been coming to this place on vacation in London for 19 years now. It still seems like an insider tip. A great pub, including a restaurant, a nice, rustic bar, live sport and a great atmosphere. Always my pleasure!

Very characteristic location located near the tower bridge. Good food and above all the possibility of eating a gluten free burger. Highly recommended

Despite the fact that this place is in a great location and the building is really nice, the food at The Grill (top floor) is not good. We had two overpriced chicken Schnitzels that were over cooked, dry and even hard in some parts. This should've been obvious for the cook and even the waiter! That's why the service gets two stars only. The atmosphere was just ok. It's a shame that having such a great building, they ruined the interior with all that new and modern furniture. This is definitely a place I will never visit again.

I ate here with my mom, and it was very good! Great and quick service, very good tasting food, and very cozy interior. I had the teriyaki salmon, and my mom had the rainbow salad. both very good, i highly recommend. Our server moon was very attentive and friendly.

This pub has been one of my favorite places in London for 41 years and I have had my regular seat outside on the little bench with a view of Tower Bridge for 41 years. This is also a historic place with a great history and past. It is also a very nice place to visit in December, during Advent.

Very good gastropub in St. Katharine Docks. Good quality of their food, especially their burgers, and beers. Good prices. No reservation is needed to eat and the order is placed via mobile phone, the tip is optional and is not added automatically. The price per person is about 20 pounds and up. Its facade is currently under construction but it is one of the greatest exponents of the site for its flower decoration. I recommend it!

Great place for a large dinner social event. Company annual Xmas 🎄 dinner after Xmas due to the train and tube driver strikes pre Xmas. Very enjoyable.

We had a team lunch here a couple of days ago, and we loved it. The food was incredibly good. We had the salmon, chicken Schnitzel, and fish and chips. My colleagues who wanted halal and vegetarian options were also well catered too. There was an assortment of drinks to choose from. There is a bar on the ground floor. All at reasonable prices. The Inn was undergoing some redecorating externally, so there were some scaffolding about.. Once you get past this, the interior was airy, yet warm and well lit. I loved the dark stained wooden floors and the staircase. I think it was two or three flights of stairs, which was a bit challenging for some. In the end, the journey up was well worth it because the food was delicious, and the view overlooking the Dock was fascinating. We went during midday, and it was quiet.

This pub has a fantastic location, historic building and all the other features that would lend it to being top tier. Unfortunately, after visiting for a roast we were utterly shocked and disappointed that a pub didn’t serve vegetarian gravy, and has also run out of any veg options for roast. Moreover, the roast potatoes were less than mediocre, no crunch, boiled only if anything. It is an utter shame that this pub isn’t doing its best features justice. There seems to be a strong sense of laziness given their prime location. This pub is a stain on the beauty of the docks. Completely ashamed that this pub is near to us.

Very warm place, not too noisy during the week, very pleasant. Attentive staff but not oppressive. Meal more than adequate, everything was very good between the Schnitzle, the fish and chips and even the burger. Efficient service and hot food! 10/10!!!

Went to eat at the Dickens Inn today around 1545 hrs. All good except the 45 minute wait for 3 x fish n chips, would have been good to have a heads up about the wait, asked for a free round of drinks (soft) the server obliged no problem 😊

I highly recommend fish and chips, a truly flagship regional meal 😁 Everything is tasty and there are a dozen or so beers to choose from. The service was polite and helpful when choosing. An atmospheric place, especially since Dickens' grandson created it. Visit blindly and be sure to try the beer and food. 👍👌👌

When we booked we asked to be sat next to a window with a view, when we arrived we were seated with the best view in the restaurant. We were welcomed by friendly staff. The food was amazing. All of us finished every scrap of food on our plates. Our server Moon was attentive and friendly. Would highly recommend coming here.

A great place to eat, lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. Moon was very attentative but not overbear. Only one observation, not a complaint, a side plate and bread knife when having the bread roll selection. Many thanks for an evening to remember for my husband and me, as we are not sure how many more we will have together.

Great gastropub located in the heart of St. Katherine's Dock. Visited here having booked and were given a great window seat overlooking the harbour. The front of house was friendly and helpful. Good menu choices, good sized portions and reasonable pricing. The only downfall for me, was the scaffolding on the outside and building signs on the way up to the top floor (although I do appreciate works do need to be carried out).

Paid for drinks and the food on the app, nachos arrived quickly, overpriced and could have made better at home for cheaper. The drinks didn't arrive and we had to go to the bar to show them the email receipt, the lady bar tender was nice and was about to pull the pints but the manager stopped her and said we were lying. If we had paid, then the drinks would have come through on the app but hadn't so we were lying. We then had to let the manager know our food had come, so they had accepted payment through the system and had accepted our order. They then discussed for a second going back and fore, the lady bar tender sticking up for us. After a long discussion and ignoring us, we received our half pints.
