Dexter Burger @ The Pendleton in Reigate and Banstead

Chips gorgeous. Some of the nicest I've had. Desserts were to die for. Sadly burgers really let it down, which, given its a burger place, isn't the greatest. My husband had a beef burger & it was incredibly overcooked. Wasn't asked if he liked it in a particular way. I had a chicken burger. When I first saw what turned out to be the "chicken," I thought it was a cheese slice. I couldn't eat it all as it was just a flat, chewy processed piece of something, not resembling chicken in any way, shape, or form.

After a long day of work, we were heading to the airport and had to stop for some food. Very pleased to have encountered this place. The food and service doesn’t disappoint. Quantities are good and wait times are very little.

Revisiting Dexter Burger I was surprised how much their burgers went up in price. Still delicious but way too many fries. I’ll not frequent here as much as once a year as I hate being overcharged. They also just gave me a bill including service charge but no breakdown, just a total. I felt this a bit cheeky. My suggestions: offer a senior menu of same burger, 1/4 of the fries and a small salad or cole slaw on the side. £10 seems in budget for most over 60’s. Forget loyalty cards these just scream we are overpriced. Bring your prices down and increase your clientele. I like your choices of burgers. Next year I’ll try the chicken. Salty popcorn offered although a nice gesture isn’t very healthy for us older folk. My daughter loved it all.

The burgers here are the best around, without fail! Super generous portions too, I never have room for dessert!

This is the place to go on a night out with family or friends. With amazing burgers and great tasting cocktails I would definitely come here every night if I could. 10/10 Would recommend

Best Burgers in the World! Eating here is a celebration carefully cooked , creative and delicious specials, I always savour every bite at this amazing restaurant. I am reluctant to write this review because I don't want the entire world knowing about this amazing local gem and stopping me from getting a table. Keep up the good work guys I look forward to the next time I can come and worship at Burger heaven.

The standards and consistency here are fantastic. Go around once a month and it’s always spot on! Beat burgers for miles and the staff are great.

Have made telephone enquiries a couple of times to scope the metaphorical lie of the land as the feedback received has been favourable. The response on both occasions was pretty brusque which was disappointing. I congratulate Dexters on being so popular that it can afford to adopt such a novel approach to customer relations but I don't feel inclined to pursue again. The Plough appears far friendlier.

Having been on the journey with Dexter Burger from it's original location in Purley to the 'new' digs in Redhill, one thing has remained constant. The burgers are ace. Worth going out of your way for. There's also a great wine and beers list and a superb choice of extras and sides which are all delicious. This was our third visit to the Pendleton venue, and we were there on a Wednesday evening which apparently is their busiest night. The place looked great in it's Halloween decs as well. Sadly the demeanour of the serving staff was not so great - otherwise this would have been a faultless review. Asking to pay the bill at the counter was met with a huff and when I asked if Service was included (which it wasn't) and could I add on a tip, I got a very frosty response as there was clearly a great effort needed to cancel the initial transaction, discard the receipt and put the new total through. There were also some issues communicating our table to us and it put a slight dampener on the evening. We will be back but it feels like a small adjustment here (or just smiling and being polite and welcoming) would make a big difference.

Fantastic food, friendly environment, kids loved it aswell. Sometimes hard to find stuff that the kids will enjoy, every time they live it.

Only issue I have with this place, is they close so early. The venue is literally lights off at 9pm or so…that’s on a Saturday night! Went for dinner there recently, and at 8pm we were the only people in the venue, despite there being a fair few when we arrived at 7.30..which felt quite awkward. But the food is incredible. Fresh burgers with thick juicy patties, alcoholic slushes, Mac and cheese to die for, and insane ice cream jug desserts. Fries are perfect here too. Would say the burgers could have more toppings available. But been here a few times now and always loved it.

Absolutely amazing burger. We upgraded our fries with pulled pork and it was delicious. The homemade lemonade was also fab.

The burgers are nice, good quality beef, good buns. Chips are great too. Fried pickles a massive let down, more like pickles surrounded by soggy white bread. But why 3/5 stars? Because the pricing for additions is obscene. Genuinely impossible to justify. £1.15 for cheddar??? £1.15 for onion relish??? £1.79 for goats cheese??? Honestly you guys need to be real with yourselves and admit that this pricing is way off the mark. I can understand the price of pulled pork, that’s not unreasonable, but for a slice or two of cheese, come on. Even if you are buying too-draw cheddar, the price is still mad. It’s not adding difficulty to the cooking process, it’s a cheap ingredient and you’re overcharging.

Very friendly service. Got the regular hamburger here with rosemary fries and it was delicious. Cool atmosphere. Will definitely be back!

For years I have kept saying I would like eat here and today I finally did, why did I wait so long. Wow! The best burgers ever.

Food was good but due to a shortage of staff, we were asked to order on the app. Which was hard to find and only available on older versions of Android so I was unable to use it. When trying to order at the bar I was called annoying by the manager for trying to order at the bar and he wouldn't listen when trying to tell them they're having issues, as if it was my fault. Won't be returning

I have been to Dexter Burger serveral times now and the food is always delicious. Everything comes out super quickly and I would highly reccomend the milkshakes (they're divine, especially the peanut butter one).

I’ve been coming to this place regularly for a while and honestly it’s my favourite place. I once told the staff after a few drinks that it would be my death row last meal but that’s honestly true!!

It's one of the best burger I've ever eaten. Portion size of the burger itself is extremely generous. Rosemary fries are too good and chilli jam is delicious.

Best burger in Redhill, Surrey. Love their rosemary fries and sweet potato fries. Also, I like their homemade lemonade. Their milkshake is of big serving. Definitely you'll come out with a very full stomach.

First time here after living in the area for years. Really good experience. Warm welcoming staff, pods with heaters, good quality and simple menu, fast service, attention to detail, very reasonably priced given the current climate. Haribo on my straw with my alcoholic slushy. It doesn't get much better than that. New favourite pub

One of our absolute favourites in the area for a really excellent burger and chips! But also delectable chicken wings (don’t forget wing Wednesdays!) and the Mac and cheese is highly rated. They also do soft serve, milk shakes and it’s a must to follow them on Instagram to find out what the latest ‘special’ burger is as they’re really quite special!

Wednesday Wings 1 kg for £11. Perfect Wednesday escape after a long day's work. The wings are enough for two people, honestly. I liked the barbecue flavor better than the buffalo. They have gin Tuesdays (unsure of this day) as well, where a second shot will just cost you just an extra £1. You need to book in advance, however, to secure your table. Last order in by between 8 to 9pm, depending on the crowd. That's all, thank you. Great food, nice staff, and a pleasant atmosphere.

Love Dexter Burger. Have been going to the Purley branch for years. The Pendleton has more space and parking which is great. But it's still the same great food and service. I would highly recommend trying the specials, they never disappoint!

Had a quick stop at Dexter Burger as my friend recommended we come and pay a visit. Well I wasn’t disappointed! The atmosphere was kinda like old school house vibe with a modern twist. Great bar with a lovely selection of drinks. Particularly liked the idea of the rum flight… had I not been driving! Shame that’s not an option for gin as my friend would have taken that. The staff were friendly and attentive. The food was hot, well seasoned and presented. Ok… it was delicious also!! Love the fact that there’s an outside space and free parking. Many thanks team 🙌🏻

I haven’t eaten here for quite some time and so was looking forward to having my usual offering of garlic fries and the beetroot burger with cheddar instead of goats cheese. My brother had the beef burger with sweet potato fries. The food was excellent and they now serve food on trays - probably easier for washing up. I was given so many fries however that I boxed up what I didn’t finish and can have them another day which is great. Amazing food and amazing staff.

Food was good but service was really off putting. We were the only customers in the whole restaurant and they told us we must come in and place the order at the bar. 5 members of staff, all chatting around the bar but unable to tend to us at our table? Did not like the service at all. The slushies are amazing though.

My family and I always had a lovely time here, great food and good selection of drink. The burger as always is perfect however I must insist you get the wings as both the BBQ and buffalo wings are all insanely good. Staff are nice.They had a great kids menu for our niece as well.

We’ve been going for ages. The food is really great. It’s amazing in fact. Odd and variable opening hours don’t help it. Neither does the attitude of the manager - I’ll say this about him he’s certainly consistent! We must’ve been there twenty times for the great food and he never fails to walk around looking stroppy and moody. His level of customer care and sulky, confrontational attitude really leaves a lot to be desired. I think he thinks his restaurant would be alright if he didn’t have to deal with all us stupid customers. It really puts me off going, but then the food is so good he could carry on being unpleasant forever and I’d still come back! I wish him all the very best dealing with the root cause of whatever is making him so upset.

Lovely friendly place to visit. It's family friendly. Dogs are allowed by the outside tables and the staff are very accommodating. There is good shade from the hot summer sun. Food was excellent and prompt. Milkshakes are amazing. And you could park easily.

Surprisingly quiet when we visited on a sunny Saturday afternoon in July. The staff were very friendly and knowledgable of the menu. Nice outside seating area pods. Very generous food portions, and very tasty too. Five star.

Superb. Back next month. Maybe the month after too. Surprisingly excellent. Stumbled across the place by accident enjoying the sun after a long walk. Needed a drink. Saw a highly impressive burger Wall of fame that seemed to boast burger excellence. The smells that came from the kitchen seduced me into staying for food. I have to say.... genuinely the very best burger in town. Outrageously good.

Extremely bad and rude service, we came in and spent £70 between us to get rushed out of the restaurant half way through our drinks. Burgers were average but getting rushed out half way through a drink is not how we intended to spend the evening. Whist they told us there was a limit to the table, we didn’t expect to be told to leave when no one had even turned up and having spent so much money- would’ve been nice if they had been more polite about it.

I’m not sure they actually want customers. We went the other day at 7 pm and we were met by the door by someone saying they were closing early because they were too quiet, despite 2 seperate groups trying to go in and eat. Tried to get takeaway a couple of times too, just to be told they’re not doing them tonight.

WOW, this place never fails!! The best burgers we have ever had, succulent, tasty and great toppings especially the pulled pork!! Cant really say much more other than its a must try!!

I rate the food at this place very highly and the staff are always really nice. Ordered a double cheeseburger with pulled pork and it was absolutely amazing. These are decent sized pattys. Not flimsy thin ones like other places. My burger and chips cost £17.40 which isn't too bad but I would want more toppings at that price such as a more than one slice tomato and few more jalapeños. These people also look after emergency workers by offering 10%. Credit to them for recognising the hard work of these people. The only reason I gave four instead five is because was told that when reserving a table for six, for each person that doesn't turn up there is a £10 charge. Very cheeky if you ask me. There was also lipstick on a glass I was given

I needed a dose of Dexter Burger, so came here with my brother a few weeks ago. I got my usual order of garlic fries, beetroot burger with cheddar instead of goats cheese and jalapeño and red onions as additional toppings. My brother got a beef burger with sweet potato fries. We also shared some onion rings and a peanut butter milkshake. The food was amazing as always but I’m sure they’re giving even more fries than ever - it seemed like a mountain of them. This is an amazing place to eat. I do hope that they find a new venue very soon.

Amazing as always, burgers are incredible and gluten free buns actually nice. Highly recommend the chilli chipotle fries and any milkshake you fancy.

Maddeningly moorish and with fantastic craft beers to wash it all down; you're in very safe hands here. Can't go wrong.

Dogs not allowed indoors. No real ale. Such beer as there was £5.50 a pint. Not my sort of pub.

My brother and I came here yesterday, as we’ve not been here for quite some time. Between us we ordered the dauphinoise bites - which were new, a beef burger, beetroot burger, garlic fries and sweet potato fries. The food was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed it all. We decided to treat ourselves to dessert too and opted for a chocolate brownie and banoffee pie. They were also good and we left very satisfied. I would highly recommend this place, as hands down it beats all other well established brands.

Great food Great customer service and great atmosphere.

Dispite the limitations of COVID The restaurant was running smoothly, the staff where accomodating and friendly. They had a great variation of indoors and out door seating with locations in shady and sunny area's outside. There is parking however it is incredibly limited and the car park is not suitable for lowered or low vehicles. The bathrooms where clean and maintained regularly to a high standard. The ordering process indoors as of the time of this review is that you get served by a waiter or waitress, however if you are outdoors you download their application from the Google Play/Apple App store. Their menu is extensive and their selections of burgers cater for meat lovers as well as veggi's, once you have chosen your burger of choice you then have multiple options to customize the dish. This allows you to change it down to if you would like not to have tomato's or sauce on the burger or if you want to add different fries with added bacon and cheese. The menu has hundreds of different combinations with the variation of different burgers and fillings, their specials are also incredibly good and I would recommend looking at those before the main menu. The drinks menu is great and extensive too with a a wide choice in Gin's (boutiquie Gin company's too), Beers, Cocktails and a good selection of soft drinks all at reasonable prices. Their hard shakes (alcoholic milk shakes) looked incredible, unfortunately I favoured for the Gin over this. The atmosphere there was chilled and relaxed and we where not pressured by the staff to order more or less with add ons it was completely left up to us. We ordered via the app which was seamless (On Android 11) and the drinks arrived quickly and the food about 10 minuites afterwards. The quality of food was top notch and I was happy to see a good quality of food that was well presented and served at the perfect temperature. I had the beef burger with red onions, tomato, rocket, sauce, BBQ Pulled Pork and Chilli Rub Fries. The food was devoured and tasted excellent, the meat was cooked to a Medium Rare, still slightly pink in the middle with lots of juices and not a dry bite, perfect. BBQ Pulled pork goes well on alot of things but was the perfect pairing for my burger of choice, highly recommend it. The buns where high quality Briosh Buns that absorbed the juices and sauce but did not become too soggy when you put it down to have some of the chips. Over all very messy hands, huge grin on my face, an empty plate and glass of gin, full stomach and was happily willing to part with my money for a great meal and great experience. @Dexter Burger you will see me again soon.

My first visit and now I'll be a regular. Outstanding. Service great too. Very well organised to keep everyone safe too.
