Popped in for lunch on recommendation from friend. The over 65 £7.50 option looks very good value and food (fish and chips) went down well. Only downside was lack of delivery meant no burgers and no ice cream - alternative choices were very good. Staff very good.

Called in for a little something but ended up with Sunday lunch the food was absolutely delicious. The service brilliant especially Gracie she was very attentive yet not over bearing. We had a slight problem with the procecco which was mentioned to Gracie and she immediately sorted it with no problem at all so thank Gracie for the impeccable service. Will definitely be visiting again. The cakes looked wonderful but we were too full for one so next visit it will be coffee and cake. Cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough.

Having been coming here for many years. Food has always been ok too good. Last twice has been v mediocre. Went for Coffee and cake yesterday and it was terrible. Staff seemed morose and service was poor. Lady with extra long neon orange nails took our order and was only able to pick up the menus by knocking a phone onto the floor, no attempt to pick it up, just a cursory”sorry”! Watched her make my cappuccino and a couple of other coffees. No idea how to make proper coffees and the drink was vile. When cake was brought we were asked if all ok and simply asked for the coffee to be taken away, specifically said we did not want another. Another arrived and was not touched. It was added to the bill! Blueberry scone was nice but staff didn’t seem to know the difference between that and the sultana scone which was brought originally! Have had the Tea loaf here on many occasions but it was dry and poor (left out uncovered too long?). A poor experience mainly caused by staff who couldn’t communicate with each other never mind the customers (one couple walked out). Also, staff need to be trained how to make different coffees. Finally, hand washing appeared to be non existent and how 4cm acrylic nails are allowed in a hospitality venue, when those same hands are serving food is beyond comprehension.

I have been coming for breakfasts on a Saturday and whilst the food is good, the service and wait time is poor. My breakfast today was brought in two parts, namely my cooked breakfast without the poached egg and then a few minutes later my poached egg separately. This was after a 30 minute for my breakfast. It was not busy and it seems that there are that many employees one does not know what the other is doing. There appears to be little communication between them when I was asked twice by two employees what type of bread I wanted. Poor!

I've been coming to Deli and Dine for several years both in the week and Sundays. 1 30 pm today was an utter shambles. Not many diners in however service was slow. Waitress brought large meals when we ordered small and one was not what was ordered. No Sunday lunch no pies. Large baby shower party arrived 2 pm it is obvious that the staff were preparing the buffet for the party and not looking after the 10 already seated customers waiting to order.

Cafe was fairly busy with a good mix of people from singles to families. Quite a large/varied menu from cake to fish and chips. Was difficult to decide as choices were excellent. Went for the soup of the day with a rarebit side and wasn't disappointed. Beautifully presented and piping hot. Did take a while to be served but wasn't in a rush so not really a problem. Some nice crackers/cheeses/deli items too. All the cakes looked delicious. Will visit again for one of the deli boards.

The staff were rushed off their feet, even without all tables full over the lunch period, so they were obviously understaffed. 2 tables walked out after waiting and not being served. We waited 15 minutes for our coffees and longer again for food. The coffees were not great and the food was average and lacking flavour. Also they asked what type of bread was wanted but then gave everybody white regardless. It was just really disappointing.

Tucked away at the back of Retford town centre is delightful Caffè / Restaurant. My wife and I found this place on the Internet, so to day we thought we would give it ago. Being both powerchair uses the big thing for us is accessibility, no problem here we went in from the carpark through the front door, a bit of a tight fit but I got in with my kymco activ powerchair, Linda had no problem at all and level access throughout ( we then found out that there is another point of access at the back, this leads out into the main shopping street of the market square, a nice wide double door, big enough for a tank to get through (slight exaggeration) so access sorted. OK we are in seated at a table ready for a bite to eat an a good cup of coffee (wasn't disappointed) we had a bacon sandwich and a white coffee, did we want, white or brown bread smoked or unsmoked bacon, we had one smoked and one unsmoked, both on brown bread, without 10/15 minutes a young lady came out with our food, what we got surprised both of us the bacon sandwiches were a really nice artisan style bread (nice and thick) and filled with about 4 rashers of good quality bacon, it tasted fantastic, the best I've had in a good while, the coffee didn't disapoint either, fresh ground. So there you have it, go try it for yourself and see what you think .

Well what an experience I had at Deli and Dine. I walked in to find a fairly empty but very loud caffe and thought "hey we're on to a winner". I was just passing through the area so wasn't sure what to expect. A sign asked me to wait to be seated and so I waited... and waited... and waited some more. Sick of waiting I took batters into my own hands and waled into the caffe and found a seat, opposite where the staff were lazily preparing coffee. After a grunted hello I was brought a menu which I read, decided what I wanted from, closed and then watched the staff serve about four other customers that came in after me, make their drinks and take their food orders. So I did what, I think, most would do and left. Utterly pathetic service. Having had a good time alone with the menu I have to say I thought their food/drink was ridiculously expensive so I did save some money by going to a different caffe just down the way. What a shame that they feel they can take our hard earned money form us for such poor service. I just hope that the good people of Retford wise up and stop giving them repeat custom!

The menu was extensive with options for all tastes. The waitress was very efficient with the order enquiring if people wanted smoked or unsmoked bacon. An option which is often not given in establishments like this. The food arrived quickly and all the assembled party made most favourable comments about the fayre. I would certainly recommend Deli and Dine for meals, or a coffee stop whilst in Retford.

We always head for Deli & Dine when we are in Retford, but we hadn't been over that way for a while. When visiting this month, we looked forward to heading straight there for lunch. We were pleasantly surprised to find plenty of tables available but then realised that there is now more seating where some of the sale displays of food & drink to take home used to be located. The menu also seemed to have changed from our last visit - we had looked forward to a few "creative" and "special" choices as in previous visits. However we found the menu to be quite "ordinary" on this occasion and we both ended up selecting a simple panini with tuna melt. Our pot of tea was of a good size, but gone are the little cookie samples which used to accompany the drinks. To add to our disappointment, the paninis came out with the cheese mostly un-melted and the tiny pot of coleslaw didn't look very appetising. The staff present seemed to be a little overwhelmed at times. So, unfortunately, we were left a little underwhelmed on this occasion. From reading some of the other reviews it seems that Deli & Dine has changed ownership since our last visit, which we hadn't realised.

As I require a gluten free diet I initially chose to have a jacket potato but there were none left as it was 1.30pm. Not a problem - chose instead a sandwich made with the gluten free bread which was offered. I then discovered there is a £1 additional charge for gf bread. I have been on a gf diet for decades and I can say this is a first. Never been charged extra for this. I do not eat it out of choice and would love to eat the lovely bread on offer. When my friend arrived the waiter came straight to the table and took her drinks order. The menu was varied and had a choice of sandwiches, platters, and hot meals. We ordered the plough and which was set out beautifully on a board with a choice of cheeses ( the waiter did check that my friend was happy to have blue cheese before bringing the food) and home made bread. I ordered a potato rosti with bacon, poached egg with creamed mushrooms. The food did not take long to appear and I was pleased to see the bacon was pancetta, although a slight bit crispier than I would normally have had. But as I did not specify how it was cooked I did not mind. The dish was tasty and the waiter checked that our meals were to our liking always a welcome touch. At the end of the meal we weren't finished chatting so ordered coffees, one was decaf for those more health conscious. The coffee was good and the price of the meal commensurate with a light lunch. I would recommend this as a lunch time retreat and will look into the 'special' themed evening events they offer as I think they will be worth booking

Very poor value. £9 for an extremely salty burger which was impossible to finish. No check to see if everything was OK. Disinterested staff and vastly reduced deli offering. Gone very downhill recently. Shame as we really loved this place.

We had a lovely light lunch in Deli & Dine and, as always, received the best quality food and great service at a reasonable price. The Bacon Rosti with poached egg was to die for - bravo Deli & Dine!

Excellent choices of breakfast which are rather different from the mainstream. More standard options available, but the alternatives are mouth-watering.

Visit here when I come to Retford with my mum. We always have an enjoyable meal or drink. Good value for money and excellent quality ingredients are always freshly prepared. The adjoining shop is delightful and we can never leave without making one or two purchases. Tried other eateries in Retford and more often than not wish we had come straight here! The staff are charming and an asset to an already brilliant place!Keep up the good work!

We ate at Deli & Dine for Saturday lunch, our first time under the new management. We were not disappointed, the food was still as fresh and tasty as ever. Our child had the cheese and meat platter for kids and loved it, a few grapes, olives and tomato with fresh ham and two cheeses.

Came in over Christmas - they were so busy with only a couple of staff on and although we did have to wait the staff held up admirably. The food was nice and the atmosphere really good. Its surprisingly large inside and love the deli counter. We came in one day for lunch and the next day for Breakfast prior to setting off for a 5 hr drive.

What an excellent place to go and enjoy a great lunch. Been and enjoyed the food here many times and have realised that timing is key as the place is very busy with the staff in high demand therefore sometimes there could be a Waitrose be seated or unfortunately long wait on your food order. Summary:Great environment,Awesome deli counter,Good location,Great food and staff.

Parking is £1 for 2 hrs and can be a problem during busy times as used by town shoppers. Access suitable for disabled. Delightful deli selection with variable pricing levels - some things good value other items I found a bit expensive. Deli is housed at front of building with the slightly rustic dining area to the rear. Very clean. Waitress service, good variety of food on menu (breakfast menu up to 11.30 am) and a daily special offered. Very quick to provide refreshments but food service was slow and not all the order was delivered together. Portions are generous, you could easily share a pannini. Disappointed that pannini was served only with a salad garnish would expect a small side salad as it was priced at £6.95. I asked for bacon, brie and tomato toasted pannini, one of my quests ordered cheese and tomato pannini - neither were on menu but no problems. The other guest had the tomato and lentil soup and tuna and cheese toastie *soup and thoroughly enjoyed the food. Toastie was daily special at £5.95. Drinks included regular latte with extra milk, americano with hot milk and a diet coke - total bill £26. The place is very popular and can get very busy and noisy.

I've been a regular of deli and dine, both old and new management, I can say the service and quality are equal, I've read previous comments and menus do change and are aimed at most tastes, it's an eclectic menu and even times I fancy something a bit different they are always happy to please. The service is in my view excellent, when it is busy the staff still try and accommodate and are apologetic for the wait, but then good food is worth waiting for and it's reassuring that it's not sat in a fridge waiting to be pinged in a microwave.....Keep up the great work and the great food

Didn't seem to have the lovely friendly and happy feeling to the place this week. I know they have just taken over and making changes some not as well re river as others but let's see how they develop. Sharing platters were always a great attraction but the choices have been reduced. Quality of produce is still good so will continue visit.

I had heard about the new menu so thought I'd give it a try for breakfast. You cannot disagree that the menu is now limited, but gone are the 'usual' breakfast options to be replaced by offerings that are a little more exciting. The service was swift, granted that the place was not exactly full, with placing order to breakfast arriving being a little under 15 mins. I had the eggs Benedict with salmon and spinach, which arrived on a fresh muffin, with excellent presentation and great taste, I didn't think it was expensive either. There is a new feel about the place, with new decor and a different layout, don't go if you are a fan of 'traditional' breakfast dishes, but if you are adventurous and fancy giving your taste buds a workout, it's well worth a visit.

This was so disappointing. Reasonable price of £6.50 for hot drink and cake. Although the coffee was ok the cake (we had a few of the cakes in our group) were not good quality and begrudgingly paid for them. Also the milkshakes were really poor.

Called in late Sunday morning after long bike ride. Coffee was okay, bacon toastie not so good. Toast was limp / bit soggy from sweating on plate and bacon not really cooked, think it must have been microwaved as under cooked and more boiled than grilled, no real taste to it - disappointing. Always try to use independent cafes but on this occasion should have gone up road to Greggs.

My wife, 2 children and visiting relatives went to your cafe today. And I was absolutely astounded by the poor service and lack of communication. We arrived at around 10:20 and was seated outside, we had our drinks order taken and breakfast order, but was told the kitchen was quite busy so to expect a slight wait… What we was not told was that the slight wait would turn into not getting our food until gone 11:40. When I got up to ask the young man who was serving how long the breakfast would be, he replied saying they stop serving breakfast at 11:30 not realising we had ordered already he said it shouldn’t be much longer (no apology given for the wait). And even then some of the food was cold, and the bacon my wife had was inedible. Will definitely not be returning

DO NOT BUY YOUR FOOD FROM HERE!! Today was the 4th time I have been here in the last 6 months, every single time there has been an issue with some part of the order. Either, burnt, cold or just inadequate. Today my 2 breakfast wraps were cold, soggy and had paper stuck to them. I took them back and kindly asked for a refund. The owner, with the blonde hair, who is also the cook, is one of the most incredibly rude and unapologetic people I have encountered in my 50 years! She reluctantly refunded one of them, because the other had been cut in half, with the missing half in my colleague's bin! It was apparently my fault it had soggy scrambled eggs causing the problem, as I did not ask for a fried egg instead!!! I was given no alternative upon ordering. I asked why she adds scrambled eggs knowing it creates this problem? Again, no hint of an apology whatsoever, the customer service is non existent. My whole workplace will NEVER order from here again. I selected 1 star because you can't leave a review without selecting it. DISGUSTING experience.
