The 3 of us had the two course Sunday Roast. The roast was good and the service was prompt. All in all quite a reasonable meal.

Having tried to book on the website, I rang Totworth Court some weeks ago to try and book the atrium bar for lunch on 2.6.24. For a special family meal. I Was told over the phone that I couldn't book a table, but we could just walk in, assuming there was space we’d be fine.Having been here several times with colleagues and clients in the week, I was really looking forward to visiting with family.. After driving down specially to have lunch we walked in, to find the atrium bar pretty much empty with only three people eating a roast. So I was surprised to be asked if we had booked. When I said no we we referred to the manager, who ignored us for a bit and then said we couldn’t have Sunday lunch because the chef’s hadn’t prepared enough and we should have booked. No offer of a different menu or an apology. Then he tried to argue that we could have booked. There is still no facility to do this on their website, although it does now mention booking for Sundays. It was so unwelcoming, argumentative and such a contrast to previous visits that we just gave up and left. Rude and very disappointing.

What a lovely evening we had: fantastic food - duck and lamb both cooked to perfection and served with a nice selection of veg, but what we were more amazed at was the lovely staff. Holly greeted us at the bar so polite and friendly, and immediately made us feel at home. Although normally in the restaurant, she was helpful on choosing a nice Chardonnay, and knowledgeable about the gins. We had the pleasure of being looked after at dinner by Cerrys who was so sweet, polite and friendly, and was under the supervision of Cody who seemed to be in charge of the restaurant that night: he was helpful, courteous and just generally a nice guy. Aiden also played a part in our dining experience and....... anyway we could go on and on but really just want to say it's like Torthworth Court got some of the nicest young people they could find, and put them all in one place. Well done Torthworth, and thank you to all the staff for making our dinner the best dining experience we could have asked for.

Another lovely catch up with a friend in the atrium. I think it is one of my favourite places in Tortworth Court to enjoy some down time and relax. The staff are always helpful and I am getting to know them more and more. Oliver always provides excellent customer service and we had the pleasure of Cody talking to us today about the pending Gala in April for Brain Tumour Support. It sounded amazing and we have now booked and paid for our seats! Cant wait! It sounds like Cody and the team have put a lot of time and effort to putting on an event for this charity and we are happy to support a great cause. Cody is very personable and can see him having a great career in hospitality! Can't wait for my birthday celebration there next week!

A great place to celebrate Christmas festivities with friends. We were welcomed warmly by Patrick and Flo and the table was set up beautifully. We had plenty of room and the atmosphere was lovely. Chris served our food and although we had a small hitch, all was sorted very swiftly and professionally. Excellent service. The food was hot, tasty and plentiful. Highly recommend the cornfed chicken. Warm mince pies ended our meal with hot drinks and a fun afternoon followed in the atrium with Alex making the best hot chocolate for miles! The customer service given at Tortworth Court is really great! I love it there and go back time and again to enjoy food, drink and ambiance. Well done the staff, customer service is never easy and this time of year is crazy busy and you guys nailed it! Thank you! See you soon!

Settled in for a meal on the terrace with its beautiful views of the grounds. Hot sunny afternoon. A wedding taking place in the Orangery. Lots of people enjoying the outdoor games, too. Blissful. Then Miley Cyrus started to blare out through speakers on the lawn! What the hell? Cue our time to go elsewhere. Surely the clientele that enjoy eating, drinking and relaxing to loud pop music would be in central Bristol and not at a country idyl such as Tortworth Court.

I’m going to rate the De Vere as very good this Easter bank holiday trip. The location is stunning and the building is spectacular. All of the facilities were available and well organised with a booking system for the pool and gym. The food was very good. Staff were extremely helpful and kindhearted. I would give a 5/5 if the pool and changing area was slightly more attended by a cleaning person. Overall this trip has been excellent value. Thanks again to all the staff who helped to make this trip pleasant.

Decent food in a beautiful setting, and great value for money in terms of the portion sizes. My friend chose a pair of cheeses for dessert and received a whole platter of cheese and crackers which was the size of a full main course. Very generous! Subpar service was the main let down for the evening. Aside from one waiter who was friendly and professional, the wait staff appeared disinterested, unenthused and one had a particularly abrupt manner when taking our order. We also had to request the bill a total of three times and eventually I walked up to the seating hostess to pay at the entrance as it was getting late in the evening. The seating hostess seemed surprised at the prospect and even a bit put out. It was generally a nice evening but if the service could have matched the elegance of the venue, it would have lifted the experience significantly.

I booked an afternoon tea for three. I was fully aware of the cancellation policy and the charge of failing to cancel within 24 hours of the booking. However, due to the dreaded Covid I had to cancel 24 minutes into the 24 hour notice period so tried phoning the restaurant in case they could help. A blunt no. Fair enough I thought. This was a Tuesday. Days went by and I wasn’t charged so I thought this is good, they’ve listened to me. Nope, gets to Sunday and I was charged £10 per head for late cancellation. I accept this completely but when I do rebook my afternoon tea it will be elsewhere.

pairing menu. The setting was beautiful, lovely grounds all lit up and it was in the Orangery which was very romantic and lit with candles and spacious layout of tables. The food was 4 courses, menu was pretty limited, would have thought maybe a fish, meat and veggie option for each course. Prosecco upon arrival and the bar was open if you wanted beers etc. Starters were parsnip soup or Salmon, we had 1 of each, both pleasant but nothing special, also it said the soup was served with a selection of bread rolls, we all had 1 bread roll upon entering, but this was topped up as stated on menu? Mains was Some vegetable option i cant remember or Lamb, again a fish option would've been appreciated. The main was the best course, plenty of meat, however AGAIN it stated on the menu "served with lamb croquette" this did not appear which was disappointing. Pudding was a strawberry pudding which i wish i chose, as we had cheese in biscuits which were dry, no butter, 1 average chutney, dry biscuits and underwhelming cheese. Wine pairing was probably one of the worst I've ever had, bitter and unpleasant wines, and a rose served with cheese - no. Overall 6.5/10 for the main meal, service, setting and cost £50 pp, we would return for another meal. Just some minor details that need fixing, serving what's actually on the menu, better wine choices, more food choices and the orangery was freezing, most people were still in coats.

Absolutely gobsmacked when we were bluntly advised on the telephone we could not book a table in one of the restaurants as we werent staying at the hotel! The facts being we wanted to try out the restaurant in advance of a stay hopefully later in the year. In times of recession why turn away business?! THE HARE AND HOUND, in westonbirt accommodated us no problem at all despite having a wedding and food and service there was, amazing! Cant wait to now book a break awat at The Hare and Hound!

Our party of four ( very wet after down poor getting from car park to hotel ,with one disabled person) not greeted at desk, only one member of staff chatting to a table ,even after spotting us standing waiting we still were kept waiting a good few minutes before we were seated.Only few tables were occupied ,at the time .After being served our afternoon tea ,which was good, nobody came to ask if we were ok ,or any refill of tea needed. We had to go an ask for a box to take uneaten cakes away and for the bill ,this from a member of staff who seemed rooted to the service desk . As a whole we felt ignored ,and staff disinterested. and we were charged a service charge!! A spoilt 80th birthday

Terrible experience - couldn’t access most of the facilities, very crowded breakfast (25 minutes to get an empty mug and had to pay extra to have decent coffee) and low quality of food. Definitely doesn’t worth the price and oversold on the website. The response of the management team was not satisfying and we weren’t compensated for our poor experience. Highly advise not staying there.

Had the festive menu, after a very long wait, thought because the food was preordered we wouldn't have to wait so long. Wish the sprouts were cooked longer, and potatoes with the sea bass weren't cooked. Was compensated for this though. Enjoyed the puds.

Visited here for dinner on 11/09 during a walking holiday. Nice decor and welcoming staff. I had a pint of Gem, and was able to use (their only) beer jug! Wine list was good and the pinot blush was approved by my partner. Starter portions were good, the pork bites were very nice as was the Bruschetta, then I had the burger and she had the Gnocchi. Both were good sized portions and very tasty! It was so friendly we popped back for a pint the following lunchtime and were recognised as soon as we walked in!
