We turned up at 10.45 for Breakfast today to be told the trough was shut as it shuts at 11! We then asked if we could have a coffee in the legbar no that was also shut but the pizza place next door was selling coffees and croissants but it wasn’t because it doesn’t open until 11am and it was only 10.45 so we had to go outside and stand in the freezing cold to get a takeaway coffee in the garden centre not the experience we had expected and I have been visiting Daylesford since it opened. Where has the service gone? Where is the client comes first it would seem the place is now run for the convenience of its staff only!

The cafe was almost empty we were told to come back in twenty minutes. We came and were seated then told they were so busy there was a delay with our order. The place was a quarter full the coffee and pastry was excellent and you cannot fault the shops it’s fabulous. They need to sharpen up the seating of people if virtually every seat is empty why are we told to return in twenty minutes.

Lunch was good but probably a bit overpriced. Mushroom risotto delicious. Burger good. Pickled starters good. Why though, is washing up being continually carried through the restaurant. A really bad experience when paying over the odds. Staff wonderful though.

After shopping at Daylesford, we wanted to take break for coffee before continuing shopping. It is very complicated!!! For the full range of pastries, to enjoy with coffee, choose your pastry at the cake and pastry counter. Then go to the check out area to order and pay for that pastry, Then return to the pastry counter to collect it. Now you need your coffee. To get this you must walk to the opposite side of the building to the small coffee kiosk which is outside in the garden area, hopefully it's not raining while you queue up for the coffee. Having got your coffee, and pastry, you now need to find somewhere to sit. Not so freely available now that Daylesford have decided to use the large open area beside the main entrance for the restaurant only. Oh dear!!!! whomever came up with this idea can't have ever chosen a coffee and pastry to enjoy while shopping. Bottom line - there are many other places to enjoy coffee and pastry in the area.

I regularly visit Daylesford. However, the restaurants are generally very popular especially The Old Spot that offers seasonal sharing plates and wood-fired pizzas, due to the outdoor terrace. The menu has a substantial selection of dishes available of small plates ie DAYLESFORD TOMATO & CUCUMBER GAZPACHO, pasta ie OX CHEEK CANNELLONI, pizzas ie FINOCCHIONA SALAMI, puddings ie VANILLA & ELDERFLOWER PANNA COTTA The seating is comfortable and spacious with large parasols provided when the sun makes an appearance. Service is impeccable and the staff are very attentive. Very good quality with fresh ingredients that’s very noticeable. I highly recommend.

We loved the atmosphere in the restaurant and found the staff to be friendly and helpful. We shared some Padron peppers to start with parmesan crumb which was good and followed this with a 'special' of roasted monkfish in a butter sauce, peas, beans and roasted sweet potato. This was the most expensive dish on the menu. The monkfish was cooked well, although the butter sauce was strangely watery and it would have been nice to have some acidity, such as lemon or capers and some herbs as it was bland. One could really taste the vegetables but I would have liked another spoonful as they were cut very small and they were scant. The roasted sweet potato was flaccid and there was no browning. All in all pleasant, but I would have done so much more ...

As longstanding customers of the Cotswold Daylesford’s produce , store & restaurant we were saddened by today’s visit that all hospitality has left the place…with the removal of the outdoor seating area, that once was a place to enjoy a takeaway coffee & cake that now leaves the courtyard absent of its previous charm & character and this new policy sends a clear message that this is not an inclusive environment and is run on greed & elitism …we said farewell to Daylesford’s with a loud BOO as we drove out of the carpark for the last time !

Very disappointing. OK, it was Bank Holiday Monday, so it was extra busy, but there were dogs everywhere, so you had to be careful not to trip over one, and one dog had pooed on a path outside and the owner had not cleared up. Really! And I love dogs! The garden section was disappointing, nothing caught my eye, whereas usually there are lots of temptations. But my main gripe was that come 11.30 when we wanted a coffee and sit down, you could only buy a coffee from a hut in the garden section and THERE WAS NOWHERE TO SIT DOWN!!! I'm sorry, but I thought that was pathetic and certainly not user-friendly. I'm not sure if I will return in a hurry.

Would have expected that in a high end place like this, an area would be provided for you to eat your cake and coffee... Or at least for it to be made clearer that if you want somewhere to sit, not to order and pay at the till the way most garden centers operate. Instead, after placing order and paying, we were thrown outside in the pouring rain. There are tables and chairs outside in a courtyard but of course they were soaking. When asked whether some seats could be wiped down for us, we were laughed at. When we tried to drink our coffees inside we were asked to leave.

I’ve read the reviews on Daylesford and I’m always surprised that anyone criticises the staff. Always found them all charming , polite and smart. The Cafe is beautiful and spotless , a complete parallel to the wonderful shopping opportunities. The food itself is as you would expect top quality , you can tell the difference! The avocado and bacon we ordered on this visit were excellent. This leads me to pricing . A visit to Daylesford is a totally unique experience and quality always costs more. Whenever we have visited, the Cafe has always been busy so I can only assume many other customers love it too.

Revisted here for the first time in a few years. We fully expected to laugh at some of the prices although the loaf we bought at £5.50 was extremely tasty as was the bacon. However our experience in the cafe area was disappointing to say the least as my very small cappuccino was luke warm and lacking any coffee! Having had hundreds of cappuccinos in this country and abroad, this ranks as one of the worst especially considering the cost at over £5 !

We were rather disappointed with the food. We had the Roasted Sweet Potato and Ewe’s Curd filled Tortellini and the Wood Roasted Rump of New Season Lamb for mains and the Rhubarb Crumble Soufflé for dessert. The tortellini was so thick and lacked flavour and the lamb was dry and chewy. The soufflé was also nothing to write home about as it tasted too eggy! Sums up to say nothing was of a standard that you’d expect from a Michelin Star restaurant. Additionally, my husband had booked this dinner for my birthday and had requested in advance for something to celebrate the occasion and they failed to provide anything! Having said that, the staff were quite friendly and nice.

Visited a few times as stayed locally. Farm shop has some nice items in it but most are overpriced for the quality you get. Staff in the coffee/takeaway window could do with customer service training. Pizza restaurant - shocking quality and very poor choice. We asked for Margherita (in the hope it can’t go wrong)! We were wrong - what arrived was a pizza covered with passata! I am also not so sure as to the labelling of „organic” food.. just had a slice of their cucumber and it tastes nothing like the real organic cucumber from my mums garden. Overall - beautiful, well organised place but terribly overpriced and lacking of a „human” charm.

Once again turned away for a table in the Legbar when tables were available - my friend had travelled up from the New Forest for a dog walk, coffee and cake (3.30pm and it wasn’t exactly busy). Got ourselves a take away in the drizzle and sat at an outside table. Within minutes we were asked to leave as they would have to sanitise it- as if anyone was going to use it to sit outside and have a meal in the rain at 3.30 in the afternoon. No one explains why we cannot have tables at certain times. I still cannot understand why the shepherd’s huts with tea and coffee and the outside seating has been removed. It’s as if Daylesford is becoming inaccessible and all they want is to cater for is the minibus loads of tourists and well monied visitors. Not had service like this from any other Daylesford brand eateries - would rather take my patronage elsewhere.

Wouldn’t recommend a visit unless you have lots of money! Very fancy items inside at a high price. No cafe to sit in, unless you want a fancy meal, just takeaway coffee and cake which is overpriced. Glad we hadn’t travelled far and we only spent twenty mins in there! Would have thought a British business family would make this venture more British agriculture focused and not quite so commercial/unaffordable. It could be done so much better with local produce and better service at its heart.

Myself and my Wife would like to spend a few moments praising a member of your staff that waited on us today in The Legbar, Rachel. Rachel was friendly, attentive, had impeccable manners and was well informed about the menu which helped with any questions that me or my wife had. From sitting down to leaving, Rachel kept making sure we had everything that we needed, that we were enjoying our food and drink and let us know that anything we needed she would get straight away for us. Rachel made our first visit to the Legbar (which was also our first visit to Daylesford Organic) truly wonderful and memorable, we shall certainly be returning off the back of our experience that Rachel more than contributed towards. Rachel is a credit to the Daylesford Organic team and me and my Wife hope that our praise can be passed onto her. Thank you very much Rachel, you’re a star!! Jack & Faye Snelgrove

Visited on a Monday in March, as I had booked my mum in for a £200 1hr treatment at the Bamford Spa. I planned on having a coffee with my siblings whilst I waited .. well that’s not allowed anymore. Food only. Despite the place having multiple empty tables in every area (we could count 16 from where we were standing..) .. I appreciate the rules when it’s busy but not allowing us to sit and have drinks at 3pm (not your typical lunchtime) and having us walk around waiting for an hour instead .. the staff are so rude, reviews of this place being arrogant are sadly true. Staff suggested we would be allowed to sit down if we ordered a pizza to the table - why waste? We would have gladly ordered coffees and a pudding. We had already eaten in Kingham because the food here is lacking, the service is going to ruin this place. Avoid it..

This place used to be a lovely treat, sadly not anymore. Today we visited and bought takeaway coffee and cake (£8.50). They have removed the tables from the takeaway area, so we asked if there was anywhere to drink our coffee and a yound chap suggested through the archway. This was the wine bar, not a soul around at 11 on a grey Tuesday, however we were asked to leave because it was for 'wine guests only' by a man wielding a notice. The entrance for walkers from the village of Oddington is now 'members only'. As walkers we didn't have a Range Rover to sit and drink our coffee. Avoid. So many lovely welcoming places in the area where you can sit inside or outside and drink your coffee! Left feeling that unless you are rich and a driver, you are not welcome.

This is a well known brand and farmshop. Yes, there are some very nice products in the farmshop such as jams and suchlike but it is very expensive. Food is not outstanding for the prices. The space is relatively small and cramped and rather than calling it a farmshop it is really a "shop" full stop. This shop is crammed with people and a lot of them bring in their muddy dogs. Imagine the horror of seeing one particular dog with his owner deciding to have a massive shake of his body and seeing all those droplets cascading all over the FISH counter on open fish!!! After asking around why so many dogs are permitted to roam around in small space and with fresh food everywhere the retort is 'Lady Bamford likes it'. Well I assume the owner is living in cloud cuckoo land by the amount of low reviews, Time for a change we will not be returning .

First of all we are two couples in our seventies. One couple lives in Gloucester and love Daylesford - we live in the Lake District and are ex hoteliers. We all have very comfortable lifestyles. I buy organic food where I can. The ambience and appearance of Daylesfird is clever. Beautifully decked out and a pleasure to be in. Draws in the punters, and those who obviously have more money than sense! I will give an example in a minute. Lunch. Given that it was a Saturday and extremely busy I’ve made allowances for the average food. Which it was. Very average. Nice soup, cold congealed duck spring roll, Cotswold salad that my 10 year old granddaughter could have put together, average prawn cocktail with a couple of slivers of avo, decent looking quiche with a heap of kale. Nibbles £9 mains £20-26. It took an hour for our food to arrive, I had to ask for water twice, butter twice and they forgot one main course which arrived 10 mins after the others. Apologies of course but if this had been our hotel the staff would know to offer the main course ( quiche) as complimentary. No excuse for bad service. Homeware and food departments. Well. We laughed actually. A box of cornflakes serving two people was £8. I buy my organic cornflakes ( big box) in booths for £3.80. Bunch of tulips - £20. Tablecloth that you could read a newspaper through - £250. As I say. More money than sense a case of The Emperors New Clothes we feel. Clientele - not a child in sight ( obviously a place frequented by those with no children or those with nannies) lots of dogs even in the food dept which was FINE as far as we were concerned, 95% of customers under 45 - I think we were the only white haired folk in the place!! Also says something. Very glad we rolled up in our 2 year old disco - not a ford fiesta in sight. Didn’t see anyone buying anything except small amounts of food. Super knowledgable butcher. Go for the experience. We won’t go back. Much better places to eat in the area.

Have been there afew times before. Tolerated the ridiculous prices as it was a trip out. You could buy afew things and sit in the courtyard for a bit and eat. This time we bought some coffee and cake and stepped into the courtyard..to find...

The good: cakes from the coffee bar were good. The rest: ok they have Tesla destination chargers, 4 it seemed. But nowhere to park your bike securely, so minus 1 for eco. Entry from the bridleway with a bike difficult. Caters well for the range...

The service is excellent and matched by a superb but small selection of food. And the quality of the food is excellent. I would highly recommend a visit coupled with shopping in their well stocked organic food stare alongside the general store which can be...

We came just for breakfast and some drinks and we were pleasantly surprised how good the Service and the Standard of Food. I would Recommend having a bite to eat and then looking around the Farm Shop!

A stunning place with a fantastic sustainability ethos. Upon arrival staff were polite, friendly and professional. Our server Finlay was incredibly knowledgable of the menu and processes used in the kitchen, he also made some great recommendations on menu choice which tasted fantastic. Cocktails produced...

Full of snobs. Overpriced food. A takeaway for coffee’s but nowhere to sit. Asked where we could sit, got sent down near the fountain and then another member of staff came to move us. Wouldn’t come back.

In the old spot and in the juice bar the service was horrendous. Had to get up and find staff and ask if I can please place an order after no one came . It’s a reoccurring theme at daylesford . Staff are half asleep...

Sadly, we did not have a good experience at Daylesford on our first (and probably last) visit. We had coffee outside in the courtyard (after being shown where we could sit by a reluctant member of staff). The coffee took 25 minutes to arrive, and...

A gorgeous place and could spend hours walking around! We had lunch and drinks and the service was very good. However my main course was disappointing and very oily (the waitress did send chefs apologies after I commented). Also found the menu slightly misleading- ordered...

So I’ve read that Daylesford is supposed to be the Harvey Nichols food hall of the countryside. I don’t think so. I worked at Harvey Nichols managing the Gucci Boutique serving royalty, Premier league footballers and Celebrities. I can tell you that Daylesford doesn’t quite...

Such a disappointing experience. We waited about 10 minutes to be shown to our table and on being taken to our table, it wasn’t even set yet so they had to set it there and then. We had booked a table and they put us outside without asking us. Luckily it was a warm-ish day (although it was evening so getting cooler). Our drinks didn’t come until half way through our meal so we were just drinking water. There was a pork belly dish with a “hot and sour noodle salad”. We asked the waitress if the “hot” meant temperature or spice and she said it was both - temperature hot and spicy hot. The noodle salad came out cold so the waitress got that wrong. Given it was a cool evening we wouldn’t have ordered that had we known. There was also a dirty ash tray on the table when we arrived. Very disappointing given that it’s supposed to be an up market place. We won’t be returning to Daylesford sadly.

I was very excited to dine at the Trough. We’d had a wonderful dinner at their sister property, The Wild Rabbit, the night prior and had heard great things about the Trough as well. Unfortunately, the food was just ok. I ordered the chicken dish and it was overcooked and tough. My wife’s lamb was very good I must say, and the service was friendly and good.

Even though I had an issue with my food (supplier issue not chef on site) the staff were quick to react and offer me alternatives and a refund. Staff were friendly and attentive, particularly Debbie and the gent behind the bar. We would come again.
