Cured Cafe and Bar in Nottingham

A chic feel and friendly staff. Don't bother with a scotch egg though. It was advertised as £2.50 on a little chalkboard so I foolishly thought it might be the decent kind of handmade scotch egg but it was just a supermarket scotch egg with some (nice) picallilli and a bit of salad... Lesson learned; just have a drink.

Poor service, the bloke behind the bar was rushed off his feet whist the women stuffed their faces with food or just walked past waiting customers!

Me and my friend went in for a chilled drink on a Friday. After asking for our drink, which was a coke, we were asked for ID as under 18s weren’t allowed in after 9. It was currently 20 past 8 and we were refused service and told to leave. (We’re both 25). I feel like it was a judgmental and rude manner from the staff. Would not recommend to anyone, especially young women as we were made to feel very uncomfortable.

Got to me and my wife's most favourite place in Nottingham such a cool place music is top notch staff are super friendly when you sit by the canal it's like being in a café in france cannot believe I've only just found this place good for a beer or just chilling with a coffee so quirky recommend to anyone who just want a quite drink with the missus

Awful experience. We were looking forward to some cocktails watching the geese and enjoying the evening. We tripped up going out into the terrace. The steps were uneven, cracked and dangerous. Glass was broken everywhere we could have been seriously injured. The staff were so rude and unhelpful. The least they should have done is replace the drinks but they said when you take them from the bar it’s your problem if you trip in their uneven and dangerous flooring. They refused to replace the drinks and told me they had just had a health and safety inspection, I don’t know who inspected that step but he was clearly not very thorough

Looks a really kewl place from the outside, worse coffee than a McDonalds bad one! Sticky surfaces almost everything you touch. Everyone shouting as music so load downstairs view of the canal is the beet part. Would be a great place for a drink with friends but not for a afternoon coffee with friends. Better coffee shops closer by

Excellent venue. Opens early, well stocked, and a comfortable and calming atmosphere. Perfect for when you miss your train 😆 Friendly and accommodating staff. Highly recommended.

Just visited Cured, found by chance. The place is fantastic, I only had a coffee and it was really good. The person that served me was friendly, professional, and helpful .There is a good atmosphere in Cured.

Friendly staff, reasonably priced and the atmosphere is relaxed Bit weird there were kids running around past 11 in a bar tho

Popped in here for breakfast. There’s a nice view over the canal. Ordered some breakfast baps and tbh, I’ve had better from a van outside B&Q. The bread was dry and food overcooked. The coffees arrived cold and although we ordered a flat white and a latte, both looked and tasted like cappuccino. We should have known it wasn’t very good as it was very quiet for a Saturday morning. Shame as this place has so much potential.

Nice place, not so the Staff, only one girl was friendly, the other with a lot of egocentrism as if one was going to order on credit or get the drink for free... sadly it leaves a lot to be desired

Very small serving of baileys 25ml for £4 shortest serving I’ve ever had!! Normally 50ml at least. Will not go again!

The manager of the bar is extremely rude and derogatory- the cocktail was made inadequately and when consulted was horribly offensive. Several times I have explained politely that it was not made correctly, and she remarked that she did not care, and another of her peers told her to just Ignore us. We only came in for a nice stop and now our night has been ruined. Absolutely terrible; staff need to be educated on manners, personality and customer service not a good visit- DO NOT VISIT- we weren’t “cured”, we will never visit again. Terrible.

Great place for a drink, next to the canal and a minute walk from the train station. 3 areas - street level bar with high seats, downstairs with seriously comfy sofas and then outside terrace overlooking the canal.

A great quaint old bar on the canal by the station. Tea coffee chocolate wine spirits bagels and cobs served here also.

A gem of a bar when coming into or leaving Nottingham. Good selection of beers. Located on 2 levels by the canal including a canalside terrace. Great service with friendly staff.

Stopped here for a bite to eat when on a day out in Nottingham. We weren't too hungry so a bagel/sandwich was ideal. Well we weren't hungry when we arrived, but after waiting for the food to arrive we wished we'd gone elsewhere. Over 40 minutes for a bagel, sandwich and some ciabatta & dips to arrive. If we'd been advised of a wait when the order had been placed then we would have opted to go somewhere different. Even after asking at the bar where the food was it still took some time to be brought to the table. If it had been exceptionally busy I could have forgiven them a bit, but it was fairly quiet when we ordered. Only plus points were it was reasonably priced, the fresh orange juice was good and the riverside location was nice. Won't be rushing back.

Expensive pints but nice seating over the Canal

Visited this place as our train home was delayed and was very close to the train station. Walked past it many times but never been in so thought we would give it a go. Loved the vibe and the atmosphere and music was good too. Interesting decor and enjoyed our visit, especially as they had small bottles of Prosecco 😊. Toilets could be better but seen worse that’s for sure. Will definitely be our ‘go to’ place if we get the train into Nottingham again.

This is a great bar. Old canal side warehouse over two levels. Love the quirky decoration. Just a lovely interesting, relaxing bar by the canal, near the station. One of the best in Nottingham. Staff are always wonderful! Food generally small plates are brilliant and so cheap! So dog friendly also! Free puppachino! Lovely stop off after a canal walk!

Love sitting downstairs. It's like a secret lounge.

I only popped in for a pint while I did some work and waited for my train, but I loved this place. The staff were really friendly. Great atmosphere and music playing. I loved sitting looking over the river at dusk, watching the swans and geese, and passers-by. If I lived closer, I would definitely come here more often.

Stardard beers at expensive prices in plastic cups. Don't bother.

This is always my first port of call ( sometimes last) when in Nottingham. Staff are always friendly, look after the dogs. Surroundings are great, next to the canal.

Popped in after getting off the train, nice food, cool atmosphere and of course drinks. Mark offered excellent service, can tell he has talent for this industry. Will come back soon with my friends when they visit

Service was slow. Bagel was ok. But I found a spider in my salad. Still waiting for a reply from their social media accounts. So will not be returning. Horrible surprise at lunch!

Great little bar overlooking the water. Friendly staff and a decent pint. Great place to spend an hour if you've missed your train.

Food prices are more expensive on the menu's than the advertising board beside the bar?? We were charge £2 more for a ciabatta we did not order. It tasted 'ok' but mustard was drenched on, along with too much cheese and ruined the taste. Food placed on top of serviette when plated, so nothing to wipe your hands on afterwards. Service not as good as before, nobody ask's if food ok. Shame, used to enjoy food/service/ambience.

We actually walked past this pub several times as we were put off by the blaring music. However, it is not loud at all inside which is a bit bizarre. There are views of the canal from every table and a small terrace overlooking the canal downstairs.

Bar staff were friendly, and the atmosphere was great, just a shame I didnt get to try the food as i was only there for the last few hours.

Bagel was nice. Good choice of hot and cold drinks at lunchtime friendly staff on both occasions had a quick drink after work it had a nice vibe. And it was lovely on a nice warm sunny afternoon 🙂

Nice place for a cuppa coffee. Few steps away from Nottingham train station. Good service. Lovely location just next to canal and I love to have seat at canal side for lovely view.

Every time I have been here it's just seems different, there seems to be something good about the place. I like a place that keeps looking to move in a forward direction. Good beers, decor, seating whatsoever, if you put a bit of effort in, you will get returns

Just be aware, no food on a Saturday evening but otherwise a real buzz!

Quirky little place with a few seats outside along the canal. If you go down the spiral steps, there are sofas and tables that look out over the canal. You can get a Cider and a charcuterie platter. ( we didnt try the food on this occasion) There's also a place where you can set up your laptop and with the large windows its like working inside, outside. I love the vibe and will definitely come back.

it is a really nice place with good coffee. however the music is so loud and impossible to ignore - you can't even hear yourself think let alone talk. i would understand if it was the evening/night but i am here at 3pm. this is my second time here and it was like this last time as well. if it wasn't for this it would be lovely here.

A great spot, wide selection of drinks and a nice intro to Nottingham as a whole.

This is a breakfast review only. 4.50 for a take out bacon and egg cob. Nothing special. Extortionate price for take out when you have Greggs two doors down who do a bacon sausage and egg for 2.90. Will not be back.

Toilets were an absolute disgrace. Urine all over the seats, tried to lift the seat with my foot which wouldn't stay in place due to so many repairs, it wouldn't stay in the upright position. Drank our over priced drinks and left.

This is a class venue… the staff are very friendly and service is swift. There is a wide selection of drinks. The overriding asset to this venue is the beautiful view over or even beside the canal. This makes for a top venue, especially in the summer since it faces the direction of the afternoon sun. This is a great place to escape to.

I went in today for a small meal with my daugther, looking at having some good coverage while the weather was terrible so we came into here for some snack and drink. The quality of the food was very good and the drinks available was what you would expect from such a small business. However... the service leaves something to be desired! Everytime I spoke to a member of staff things seemed decent and everything was fine beside one particular member of staff who seemed none interested, she kept rolling her eyes at me and gave sharp snappy responses. This just ruined the quick outing myself and my daughter had there, it looked real nice but on the inside of things this particular member of staff just seemed uninterested and didn't care. Besides this rude member of staff everything about the establishment was pretty decent and would recommend.

Piper was very rude to me and my friends she slammed the drinks on the table and she rolled her eyes at us constantly

Visited on Saturday afternoon - the music was uncomfortably loud and we couldn’t hold a conversation, so I asked if it could be turned down - it couldn’t, apparently, because it was Saturday night (it was 4pm). Bonkers.

Nice spot, but rude woman at the counter, very stand offish, got our order wrong and because of her attitude we didn’t feel comfortable asking for new food… very sad as coffee was okay and could of been a nice spot :(

Good little pub next to Nottingham railway station.

I wasn’t going to write anything but I can’t let that girl smug face get away with profiling anyone. The evening started well, myself (white male individual) and another friend (white male individual) sat down at the canal. My friend went to the bar as just as my other friend arrived (black male individual). As he sat down, there was a girl sat on the other side continuously staring at him. Which made him and myself very uncomfortable. My other friend came with the drinks, i started smoking a cigar. Couple of minutes later we could hear her and the people she was sat with talking about someone smoking an Illegal substance (cannabis). Her and the others went inside, the man from the bar came out and asked us if we was smoking this Illegal substance which I responded that we wasn’t and shown him my cigar. He mentioned that he could smell it when my white friend came to the bar, to which he responded that he did have some on him but wasn’t smoking it at any point. The man said that was fine and left, I could see the girl was upset by this and started to get agitated and pointing at my black friend. She then came out, walked pasted us with a smile on her face. Again making us very uncomfortable, at to which point I decided we should leave. Again as we was leaving she was consistently staring at my black friend. Just because he was the only one there black and dress in a tracksuit, he didn’t do nothing wrong. I understand the concerns with my other white friend having an illegal substance on him but at non point was it being smoked and the man at the bar was fine after speaking. As for the girl and her friends smelling it was blown out of proportion, as no one was smoking it. My cigar was the only thing you could smell unless you was stood right next to my friend. I wish I could of had a better experience, seems a lovely spot. I was enjoying my lovely Montecristo Cuban cigar.

The lounge downstairs is really cosy, with comfy sofas and a nice view of the canal. Chill music and varied groups of people. It's missing a sweet option on the menu as they only have some prepackaged muffins etc

It's what the old cured should have been. Shabby & relaxed with more space. A great little outdoor space along the canal. Chilled but still fairly lively. They do some great beers too. Always like yo pop in when heading in or out of the city

I've stopped in several times inbetween busses and trains while travelling, I have always loved the vibe. Pop in, even just for 1, if you have time. Great beer, fantastic staff.

Well. What a hot day!! Came to “cured” for the 3rd time. What can I say? Firstly the main bar area was so hot I felt the place should’ve been closed just for the sake of the staff. However. It was open and I have to say. All of the staff were in great moods and so welcoming! Bar man named “danny” was amzing. He got me my drink. And was so positive even though he’d have been forgiven for being totally wiped out by the heat! Total dude :). Also had an amzing convo with the barmaid “Libby”. She was totally engaging and made me feel instantly like we were old mates. Such a breath of fresh air actually as many places in the city center these days are so impersonal. Spoke to me for 10 mins and found out it’s her last night. Which is a shame really as I feel that cured will loose a little something without her! However (not sure of there names) but the other staf are equally as nice and I’d certainly recommend this place! Amzing place to get a nice pint and chill! Ya will be made to feel at home. And to Libby, onwards mate. Follow ya own path! 5 star recommendation! To the owners, look after this bunch of staff! You have a great bunch! Chris the barber! :)

I’ve visited Cured on numerous occasions and always love it! Great staff, very friendly and some delicious food options. I love sitting by the canal when it’s sunny enjoying a lovely g&t, perfection!
