Visited yesterday, very pushy staff. I like time to spend looking but seemed to be pushing too much to buy so went without buying anything. I wont visit again.

I left it to Clare to choose the cheeses and so glad I did because she chose ones I wouldn’t have tried. Our favourites so far are Endeavour (finished first, it was wonderful); Flatcapper Northern Brie, it it so creamy you need a spoon; and Duke of Wellington, fabulous.

Lovely coffee the food looked great Butcher was a bit pushy and we couldn't get passed a man in the doorway encouraging you to sample his jam But l find the cafe claustrophobic The windows are frosted and dark blinds on the outside Two ceiling lights were constantly flashing The freezer was making a load continual noise The high chairs and tables are out of place It could be a fabulous place with a bit of care

These are without doubt the best Pork Pies in Castleford.... eat them hot. The other produce is also very good, including the dry cured bacon and the wide selection of cheeses. Highly recommended.

When you're in Castleford you've got to call into the indoor market and get a sausage roll or a pork pie! They're not exactly one of your five-a-days but they're the best. Not the cheapest either but def worth the extra few pence. Pickles great too.

Great food sold here. The pork pies and sausage rolls are wonderful. The gammon joints are great and not salty at all. They have a fantastic range of their own preserves and pickles. Cheeses are brilliant and there is always a tasting bit.

Pork pies are really good eaten hot. Maybe not the cheapest, but you pay for what you get and you will not be disapointed.

I have visited Cryer & Stott's stall in Pontefract market whilst visiting my daughter on two occasions. Today she has come to see me in the West Midlands armed with a goody bag from Cryers! Freshly baked pork pies and a selection of cheeses. This is a gem of a place where they have some really unusual cheeses, Wensleydale & Rhubarb is brilliant, the freshly baked pork pies are a delight as is their selection of relishes. Hendersons relish must be one of Yorkshire's best kept secrets! I will be back there and recommend that anyone local to one of their shops/stalls does the same!

Very rude staff! After having a lovely walk around the dam with friends. To be told unless we had a booking we could not buy a cup of tea. Wouldn’t even make eye contact to say this in a polite way.

Oh my god! Best burger, fries and cheesey chips I’ve ever tasted. Even though the delivery took an hour, the food definitely made up for it and was definitely worth the wait. 🙏

Passed by here many times before but as the main part seemed a little run down we hadn't given it a second thought. This time however, We were in need of a break as our journey had been fraught with heavy traffic so we pulled in and were so glad that we did. A very pleasant refreshment stop, with helpful, friendly and smiling staff meant that we stayed a little longer than intended. We shall definitely call in again when travelling this route.

A couple of weeks ago, a group of 24 of us went to the Electric Theatre for a Sunday roast. Some of us had the carvary, and I think that the carvary is better than any other carvary I've ever had. Had. The drinks were nice and chilled and the service was incredible. The thing about our group is that 23 of us are blind and one is fully sighted. The staff really were incredible. They served each and every one of us individually, and they did it with cheerfulness, speed and efficiency. We were all very impressed with them. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming and the music was good. We had a wonderful Sunday afternoon, and the next time I'm in the area, I'll definitely be going back there again.

After visiting the nearby national coal mining museum last Thursday I had lunch and a couple of pints of real ale. Very friendly staff but disapointing food and beer.
