Menu wasn’t particularly inspired so had Fish and Chips. Chips were great but the fish hadn’t seen the sea for a long time! Dry and tasteless with mounds of empty batter. Husbands chicken strip starter overcooked and hard. I don’t think meals were checked as they left the kitchen.

we went for my husbands birthday 🎂 we were met by a very friendly and helpful member of staff which made us feel very welcomed 😊 We sat at table 4 which was very clean and more importantly cool 😎 I had the lasagne with salad and garlic bread my husband had the rump steak with all the trimmings . When our meal arrived it was well presented and piping hot 🔥 we would go again as its also reasonably priced ,Thanks to the kitchen staff are well it was a very enjoyable experience

Good food very small portions in my opinion not good value for money we had a child screaming and shouting most the meal not the pub's fault poor disabled parking

Went for a late lunch with family. Very lovely place. Perfect for a family. Staff were fantastic and friendly nothing was to much bother, they accommodated for my newborn very well including moving tables to fit my large pushchair in so my baby could be with us. Food was lovely too. Really good and understanding when it came to my allergies. Over all a really good experience and can't recommend them enough. Thankyou to all the staff

We came in as a family for food as my daughter loves the cheesy nachos at the crown, food was delicious as always, staff we great and nothing was to much trouble will definitely be coming again 😊

Came in with my family on the 25th of April and it definitely lived up to its reputation. Was then kindly greeted by a young waitress with a big smile. Even though it was busy the staff were very efficient and we got our drinks almost straight away. Food was delicious, quick and piping hot! Will definitely be coming back.

This spot is great for a get together with friends, dinner with the family or a special occasion. It genuinely gives off that vibe that is suitable for everyone. Incredibly deals available midweek plus drinks deals everyday. The pub is even dog friendly, with a pool table and dart board. What an absolute gem of a pub. To top it off the service was friendly and welcoming and the food was prompt and hot! Loved it.

I don’t understand why this place isn’t packed . Went for lunch with two friends and we had the light lunch, two had fish and chips and the other scampi and chips, It was all piping hot, lovely crisp batter and chips. There was enough for us, and two managed a dessert, jam sponge and custard, again piping hot. With a tonic water each, it came to about £13 each, excellent value. Friendly staff, nice cosy corner for a chat, shall be back

Came here on sunday for a roast dinner with the family, when arrived was greeted by a young man called james who was very helpful with us with giving us knowledge of the selection of drinks and food! When the food came out it was hot and very good portion size, i believe the chefs were called will and louis! Must say it tasted so good and will be returning again!

The Crown Wychbold today we visited for a quiet lunch myself and my husband, we sat at the end of the bar in the corner near the toilets. Our meals and drinks were fine, nothing exceptional but ok, whilst chatting during our meal I noticed the chef come out the kitchen we acknowledged each other as he had to pass us and noted he went into the gents, I commented to hubby that he came out the kitchen with his blue gloves on , to this I was fuming 😤 good hygiene ? Leaving a kitchen environment with gloves on hands all over the doors and the bar as he walked passed into the toilets, so camera at the ready hoping he would come out the toilets without gloves, how wrong so snapped a photo as I was horrified and knew it would get denied, please also check your cameras, straight back into the kitchen wearing same gloves, to think this male chef used his Hands to toilet then proceeded to the kitchen to continue working, absolutely shocking 😳 Regardless of if he says he changed his gloves in the kitchen this is against all food hygiene. Watching this we refused puddings , approached the poor young girl acting manager, told her and she proceeded to tell me she would have to try and have a word, I also explained our quick exit. Absolutely Discusting Behaviour and cleanliness at its worst, there is absolutly no excuse whatsoever so ever. Pure Filth

We popped in for lunch , we both had jacket potato but it was a dry not enough beans or cheese on it, for £7.50 you would think they could put at least half a tin of beans on it and there wasn't any toilet aper in the ladies

Could not fault anything here for my mother’s birthday,🎁 mason was amazing from the minute we arrived,couldn’t do enough for us,very attentive & and genuinely lovely guy! Food was spot on,mason even brought my mums birthday cake out singing happy birthday! Made her day! I’m sorry I didn’t get the name of the girl that also served us but was also lovely & attentive! Thank you for a lovely afternoon! We use the crown as a meeting place when I come to visit from Tewkesbury,usually have my dog with me so also a bonus it’s dog friendly 🐶 thank you James & team!

Called in for Sunday lunch , bar staff was helpful and polite . Had beef roast which was tasty but on the small side 1 slice of beef and lacking on veg. Found myself eating again 2 hrs later.

I met my friend here for a xmas get-together we were seated at the table there was a band playing and it was so loud and the singer sounded like a cat being strangled to the point we couldn't hear one another after choosing off the menu we opted for a curry my friend went up to order and returned back and said they had run out this was a 18.30pm booking. we then choose again I had the burger it came out in a bowl with no garnish something on the bottom of the burger that resembled rotten lettuce the burgers were awful frozen cheap rubbish and a handful of French fries my friend had the pie which she said was OK we didn't fancy a desert at £5 a head so we opted for a coffee I went to the bar to be told the coffee machine was broken so all they had was an instant Americana so we declined paid and left for half a cider and lager and two meals it was £28 what a rip off never would I return no customer service and prices such a shame as it has such potential.

After a slight misunderstanding over some food. The staff were fab so friendly and couldn't do enough for us ,we were given a free drink, food was tasty and wholesome would remmond a visit to anyone

Awful experience!!! This was to be a celebration meal with family booked in advance. We were advised that although there was another booking of 16 people that night they could accommodate our family group of 8 in the restaurant by putting 2 tables together. When we arrived for dinner we were told there was no room and we would have to sit on high stools in the bar with no waitress service. Some of our group due to health struggled to sit on the stools and had to be helped. Our meals were wrong and also cold. We were given a bottle of wine and no glasses. The bar staff were extremely rude and I accommodating. We did not receive the full 20 percent discount for staying in the hotel. On top of this the fire doors near our room were continually propped open and the residents key code door open to all and sundry. They do not provide dairy alternatives, it is milk or soya only. The toilet flush did not work properly and the heating system noisy. Dreadful stay and meal never to be repeated!!!

First visit.. won't be our last. Lovely atmosphere, clean and well kept. Staff on the ball cleaning tables and well mannered. Food was lovely all as it should be. Definitely be returning.

Came for Sunday lunch as I was staying here for Sunday night. Asked about the roast beef was told is very well done so skipped that ie not a lovely pink like the image on the menu. So opted for the chicken as last year I had the beef and it was tough as old boots sent it back for the turkey and was dry and tasteless. My lunch came and was so sad. 1/2 a chicken was fine but I immediately saw my favourite thing on the plate the Yorkshire pudding was burnt and crumbly so asked for a new one. Another one was sent out this time chewey and old like it was freezer burnt? The carrots overdone consistently of leather, the little ball of paxo stuffing so dry and overdone was crumbling apart and the red cabbage so sickly with sugar almost gagged. I'm sitting here now with the offending plate waiting for someone to ask me if everything is ok but all servers avoiding eye contact like the plague. Had to go to the bar girl behind the bar asked if I wanted something else and suggested she likes the surf and turf now waiting for replacement no sorry no complimentary drink had to buy my own while waiting. Change made excellent steak tasty and cooked to perfection and prawns fresh was more expensive than what I ordered but no charge. just saying this place is still going through management difficulties but the service has always been spot on I think the problem lies in the kitchen somewhere very hit and miss.

Very poor quality food and service. Had to return two meals, never experienced this before, the staff seem deflated and no real effort to rectify the issues or interact with patrons. Used to be a decent cheap and cheerful place to eat, surroundings are great but won’t be returning.

First of all I would like to say this place is spotless, including the toilet facility’s This is the first time I’ve reached out to trip advisor to review a place I’ve visited. Such a shame really in that we visited this pub a few weeks earlier and my meal was completely different. This time I ordered the Chicken & chorizo, flatbread, topped with salad garnish The thing that I noticed as soon as it was put on the table was the salad garnish was limp yellowing and dead resembling something you scrape from the bottom of the lawn mower. The girl came over as they do to ask if all was ok I told her the salad garnish should not have been served on the plate and that the chicken and chorizo was dry. In all fairness the young lady did say that she would let them know but didn’t return to let us know. The chicken and Chorizo was extremely over done so I left the chunks on the side of the plate. My wife had fish & Chips and her meal was fine.

Me and my husband came for tea last night. We hadn’t been out in a long time so wanted to stay local. We were greeted by wonderful staff, the lady who looked after us was very polite, friendly and overall couldn’t do enough for us. The bar also stocked with lots of gin from what we could see, which was wonderful! As I had so many choices! Our orders for both drinks and food were taken promptly, and we did not have to wait too long for our food to arrive. While our server was clearly taking all orders for food and drink by herself, she ensured she checked on our table shortly after our meals had arrived, and afterwards when we asked for the bill too! So thank you to our server Megen and all the team! We will defiantly be returning!

We visited the crown this afternoon, and can’t think of one negative thing to say! The lovely front of house whom seated us, got our drinks order and food order were absolutely wonderful. I believe their names were Holly and Meg. The older girl (Meg) chatted with us while taking our order and was such a lovely lady, very chatty, and although there were many tables, she was so fast getting our drinks and our food ordered. Food was wonderful! My friend has a steak that was cooked perfectly, and I had a few starters as I didn’t fancy a big meal. Our pudding was slightly delayed, but the front of house lady Meg, came over and apologised and went into the kitchen and brought them out shortly after which was fantastic. The don’t normally leave large tips but I did this time, the girls that worked there really deserved it and more! We will defiantly be coming again!!!!

We have lived locally for many years and used to have meals there on a regular basis, but haven’t visited for some time mainly down to poor food quality. We went for a meal there tonight with 15 more people My partner had hunter's chicken which she said wasn’t bad. I had the mega rump & scampi. Nothing mega about it. Never worth nearly £21. Very basic portion size. It didn’t fill the plate. Only five pieces of scampi when it came, I didn’t say anything but for some reason the waitress did bring some more out n asked if I wanted some more. Probably cooked too many Someone on the next table had fish n chips and twice as many chips. Wish I’d had that now.Probably won’t be visiting again soon until we hear better reviews

Called and booked a table for a Saturday night out with the family. Baring in mind they accepted our telephone booking less than an hour before we arrived - they were short staffed (front of house and kitchen clearly), there were massive delays on food, a couple was sent to stand near their table but it hadn’t been cleared from the previous people. The couple were forgotten about and had to ask for the table to be cleared. Massive delays on food, lack of communication from staff, no apologies from our waitress at all - joke! It took for what I assume to be a manager to come on after we’d been at the restaurant for an hour and 35 minutes for any type of apology and that only came after he asked if we were waiting on desserts and we told him no we were waiting on our mains!!Manager offered money off our meals which was the least he could do. When he went to chase up where our food was there was no update provided by him until my husband asked (after watching the manager pass our table multiple times). I overheard staff offering people tables and talking between them saying ‘take them to table number X, we can’t turn them away’ - was that really the most appropriate thing to do when they couldn’t manage with the tables and orders they already had. Will not be going back. Some birthday tea for my niece hey!

8thAugust.Just returned from a meal at the Crown.What a disastrous night.Four of us,and food took an hour to arrive.Everyone else was in the same boat,all dried up and not good when it finally arrived.Felt sorry for staff as something went badly wrong,and all the customers were complaining.Won’t return any time soon

the service phoebe provided was impeccable, she made us feel soo welcome like it was our second home. she not only was an amazing waitress but also a wonderful person, she was always checking on us and being soo polite. i would 100% recommend this place to anyone purely just for the amazing service they provided.

Another great stay at this warm, friendly , establishment. The Crown is full of character , warm and cosy, whether you just having a meal and drink or staying in the comfortable accommodation above this lovely pub. The staff are very friendly and helpful , and so accommodating in these uncertain times .The food is extremely good and value for money . All allergens are catered for . The food was hot which is extremely satisfying .Also not forgetting value for money . We visited when breakfast with Santa was present , so my young granddaughter had the opportunity to have her breakfast with Santa which she loved .Overall a very enjoyable , comfortable stay . Would highly recommend a visit to this lovely establishment . Top notch . Another great stay . 10 out of 10 to all members of staff , from the cleaners to the boss .great chefs and bar staff . Will be visiting again in the near future .

Went as a group of three for lunch. Pub was really busy but reasonably spaced out. The menu was typical pub food but prices were a bit steep for what you got (obviously because everything is two for one). If there is an odd number they will let you have a desert as the other free meal which was quite good.Overall, it was average, the food was average and the service was average. Not sure we’d visit again.

Another marvellous stay at the Crown Wychbold , great food, friendly staff and management .Stayed for a long weekend to visit family and friends , the accommodation /rooms are very cosy , warm and extremely clean . Consisting of both shower and bath , and all amenities you need . The beds are comfortable so enabling a good night's sleep .The food is excellent , the service was spot on ,with friendly staff . The pub itself has a very cosy and friendly atmosphere .The garden is well kept , and the play area is safe and clean , much to our delight , this enables my granddaughter to play safely. The Crown is situated just off the M5 so there is opportunity for traveling to see many tourists spots .Yet I say we will be returning very soon to this great place .Thumbs up to all who work at this establishment well done for another amazing visit
