£15 for what was advertised as Katsu chicken. Turned out to be a chicken cutlet with some sauce poured over it, some crinkled peas and a few dry chips. Beer was good

They charge £10 to book a table. Wow Edit: went in for a cocktail as they have a 2 for 1 deal, went to the bar and apparently they can't do cocktails as they don't have the ingredients. Is it just a lager and cider pub? Or do you just make the effort during tourist season? Waste of a pub

I have been to this pub twice now, i dont know why i bothered to give it a second chance!!! For a start all the food seemed microwaved! The soup one person ordered was less than quarter of a can spashed all up the sides of the bowl clearly microwaved..... the food was less than ok and expensive for the quality and quanty!! The childrens plates had about 10 chips! Half the menu they didn't even have in and that was the same last time i tried too!! They had 10 reserved tables for only 3 people to actually use them i am not sure how they would feed that many guest with such a limited menu as they just never have half then menu!!! My guess is most of those tables were faked reserved as they dont have have the stock and are trying to limit there bad reviews. Never going to go again!

Lots of tables had reserved on them but .never used during the night but we were told mmm. We are very busy tonight .it must be a joke or due to the fact of no availability of food I suggest if you cannot do the service shut the food side down and just run a pub Awful dinning experience

We come to Sheringham annually. Been to the crown every year for roughly the last 2 decades. Family of 8 couldn’t book online as would only allow is to book up to 6 people so just popped in. The bar lady said only management could book us in. So I asked well please can you go ask them then? She came back and said ‘Book Online’. I explained why I couldn’t book online, so she went away to talk to her ‘very busy’ manager. Came back and apologetically told me only ‘Upper Management’ could book such a large table and they weren’t available!! Just utter nonsense. They clearly couldn’t be bothered, Took my money elsewhere, no problem getting in the Robin Hood. Great meal there.

Really disappointing visit. We ate here a couple of times last August and the food was fantastic a great improvement. However there is a new menu in place and the food has gone downhill again. We spent over £70, portion sizes are not worth the money. We ordered bombay wings which were raw and didn't have any of the garnishes on the menu description. We sent these back which the bar staff dealt with quickly and were apologetic but overall the food wasn't very warm and very poor quality. Ive never been a complainer however, I use to like coming to this pub, the food was lovley, I came at the weekend, there was not a lot for me to eat, due to coeliac. So I went for the cauliflower salad, I have never seen such a sad looking salad in my life!. There was iceberg lettuce, red onion, sundried tomatoes about 3 of them, and 5 bits of cauliflower, and the best bit of all was £14.00 pounds!!. I did see a previous post about the very same dish, and the same complaint, so this establishment clearly has not learnt from the last time. Salad is so cheap!! So is cauliflower! Shame as the staff were very nice, this is pure greed. I visted another pub today and had a prawn salad with all the extras for 12 pounds, if they can do it with prawns and charge 12, then your mark up is way to high, I should of complained but I was so hungry, and I left still hungry.

Booked a table for 7.30. Arrived to be told they stop serving food at 8.00! On a Saturday night? We ordered Grilled chicken salad for my wife and fish and chips for me. The chicken salad was supposed to have a sesame seed sprinkle - missed, and my fish and chips the batter was bland and lacking seasoning. When I ordered the drinks at the bar I was offered a choice of red wines from a display only to be told I couldn't have the one I chose as they hadn't opened that bottle yet. This was our first visit since the change of management and we're not impressed. Tastefully decorated clean bedroom , quiet at night despite overlooking the road . Surprising that no towel rail in the otherwise ample sized bathroom . What to do with damp towels ? The biscuits on my tray were placed in a glass and immersed in an inch of water . £25 dog tax was outrageous on top of an over priced room. The dog didn’t even receive a breakfast sausage. Logging in to the WiFi and you are asked for; name , date of birth , gender, address and email . Why is this and what are you going to do with my data? Dinner was the biggest disappointment. The pie was more air than meat and the accompanying mash was of the instant variety- a very unpleasant texture. Stingy portion of vegetables and again a very odd texture. For a self proclaimed pie champion this is quite sad. The crumble could potentially have been homemade but the fruit was , I suspect , from a can . The grubby looking table menus should have set off the alarm bells. Penny pinching never ends well , customers don’t like it. Staff very friendly but could benefit from introduction of a uniform to smarten them up . Breakfast sausage was anaemic and flavourless. Bacon rasher so small i needed my glasses to find it on the plate. Milk would have been a useful accompaniment to my cereal. Out of the six hotels on my nine night itinerary , this was the most expensive and the most disappointing. No, I would not stay or eat here again.
