Cross Lane Fisheries in Wakefield

Went for fab offer of free fish and chips for NHS worker a few weeks ago ,and they were gorgeous,have been back several times since ,good big portions ,just great

Ordered a fish and chip takeaway on Christmas Eve, expected it to be super busy and even though it was the delivery service was super quick so we were all very impressed. Fish and chips are beautiful from here and it’s great value for money. Highly recommend.

put an order in for 2 x fish n chips for delivery, phoned up 4 times asking were they were. the answer was they been busy with deliverys and ours was next, 30 mins later i phoned, answer was he laft 10 mins ago he be 1 min, , we had finished the job which is why we were at work and was sick of waiting so phoned shop up to cancel locked up and then he walked past us, n i said its too late we have canceled the order as its taken way too long, the driver got very agressive and so we walked away from him, he said we have to pay, i refused n he gave the sorry story " its my livelyhood" well he wouldnt have got the money anyway if we had not waited around for so long for him, he then kicked the shop door hard twice and i said thats all on cctv so he turned around n said you fat sod, i will never place an order i this shop again infact im so mad i may still inform the police as his behaviour to 2 ladies and the calling is disgracefull

As always, a warm welcome on arrival and quality fish and chips. Fish always lovely and white, plus a decent size in comparison to some establishments. Keep up the great work guys.

Dropped in here for some fish & chips on my way home from Wakefield. Fish cooked to order which is always good & nice crispy batter. They serve in a box, which stops the batter sticking to the paper, which is always good. Happy to recommend.

Great every time Can’t fault it quality fish and chips Everyone seems to be in a race to the cheapest fish and chips and that obviously means cutting back somewhere good to see cross lane isn’t joining this race

Nothing is too much trouble. The staff are very nice and friendly and the food is lovely. I would definitely recommend this place to others.

I love the fish and chips who'd like to rate 10 million if I cud but it might be small but the staff there Evan my dad kind and it doesn't cost so much for the good there. PS beast chipy in the world from jake France

Have used this chippy for years, mainly for calling in for quick lunch as its quick, good quality and excellent value. A typical, proper, unpretentious, no glamorous lights and fancy seating.........typical, good value for money English chippy. Well done guys.

This chippy has not long been taken over by a really nice chap, sean I think and he is making a massive effort to do things right. The place is clean with very pleasant staff. The chips are delicious cooked just like i like them and the battered fish is fresh and really great value for money. We popped in as a family and used the seating area which was spotless. Keep up the good work and standards guys your on to a winner.

Just your average local chippy but very good value for money. Ideal for calling in for lunch and very popular with schoolkids for a cheap lunch. Limited parking though

The fish is very good and you get lots of chips. The peas and curry is very good and the price is ok. They have seats outside for you to eat at. They also sell lots of other food too and drinks.

They serve nice fish and chips but the staff are very miserable. You always feel as though you are not very welcome which is a shame.

Brilliant fish and chips. Good portions, clean and they do a really nice Irish curry sauce that you don't find elsewhere.

Saw the reviews so went but nothing amazing...disapointed. Area looks rundown and limited menu but did have three bench tables outside. I went once before about ten years ago... that says it all! Sadly, but it was open on a bank holiday!
