Fantastic chippy! Super friendly and the fish is cooked to order so very fresh.

Having just had a walk around the market, we called in to have a fish to take out... love eating from chippy whilst walking around... the ladies in the chippy were lovely and cheerful and the fish was beautiful... it was really thick piece of fish with a very light batter... absolutely mouthwatering.... can't recommend enough. My first visit but definitely not my last...

Really enjoyed our food from here, everything was cooked fresh to order. Friendly staff. Ossett is blessed with 6 traditional chip 'oles and this is one of them.

Came in today on the look out for a new chippy, the two ladies behind the counter were lovely, both friendly and cheerful, took my food and went to the central fish bar in the market place and got the same order. Never stepped foot in either of these establishments. Got home and split the two portions. Both myself and my wife were in total agreement, Casey's were by far the best. I'm not here to destroy anybody, but the 2nd portion of fish and chips went into the bin. Better food and cheaper in price, well done Casey's.

Nipped in today for first time, the women couldn’t have being any more polite and friendly, having lovely interaction with the children, food was ready quick and after a 20 minute walk was still red hot for every one to enjoy and every one did, food was amazing. Thank you.

Absolutely delicious food, I had fishcake, chips and chipshop curry sauce. The fishcake was enormous, probably 3 times bigger than most places.

Fish was cooked fresh but chips were hard and most went in the bin.

The fish although freshly cooked was vile, the batter all came off in one piece. I thought instead of chips I would try a scallop. Awful, must have been sat there all day! That batter also came off in one piece. And inside a huge lump of potato. Used to be nice from here. I don’t know if they are new owners but I definitely will not be back

Though great tasting, food was a little greasy. I went there today as I was very near by and would certainly do that again if very close to it, however not, in my opinion, the best in Ossett.

Had Fish and chips and was gorg !! Really enjoyed and the fish was Huge, the chips cooked to perfection...will be back :)

Don't think I should tell people how great the fish n chips are and the other items on the menu how lucky the locals are I drove over 200 miles can't wait to go back

Normally can't knock the food from here and it usually would get four or five stars but tonight the fish cake was overcooked, the batter was hard and too much, I ended up throwing most of it away. The sausage was similar, but once I'd broken the batter off, it was ok. Big let down for me especially as the bit I did eat is weighing heavy in my stomach. Not a good night.

I used to love their light crispy batter, but I called on Thursday 19th August and got a lunchtime special. Well I'm sorry to say the batter was absolutely dreadful. It was so thick and chewy I couldn't get the knife through it, and even my pooch turned her nose up at the battered sausage I got for her 😩

First time visiting this fish shop on Wednesday evening after work, I can honestly say it was the best fish & chips Iv had in a long long time! Friendly staff, very fair prices, and good portion control! When I’m next in Wakefield I will be sure to call in again. Thanks 10/10🤩

Wow, £6.10 for regular chips, and a fish the size of a stickleback. Add a sauce or drink and it's a couple of quid shy of a tenner, c'mon....!! :-O

Don't have fish and chips often as not a big fan of greasy food. Service was fast and friendly and the food wasn't swimming in grease and all cooked fresh. Reasonably priced as well.

Really lovely owners and perfectly cooked fish and chips. I don’t live in the area but friends recommended we try them. Definitely not disappointed and would certainly recommend to others.

Had seen on Facebook a while a back they had a Fish and chip challange and i was in the area so thought i would go and try it as it was only a few miles out of my way. Unfortunatley they no longer do the challange but i had a fish supper any way, it was nice food and reasonable priced if back in the area i would be tempted to go back.

Really... your staff at the Sweden Rock Festival kiosks need to learn to START cooking when the order is TAKEN and NOT when people are already AT THE COLLECTION COUNTER. Terrible service.

When I come up from London it's always the first meal I get. Top class chippy. Been going there since it was Barkers and before that Richmond's. Highly recommended for anyone who is into fish and chips.

Called here for the fish and chip deal. Very good value for money and the batter was done to perfection. The chips could have been cooked for a little longer but were tasty enough.

New management ignore previous reviews Put simply disgusting I have been going to cayses for years and the prices have always been great and quality even more so however after the new management cayses has become repulsive with food witch is terrible and prices witch are mental I ordered fish and chips I was given a hand full of undercooked chips and a thin fish witch at its thickest point reached about 2 fingers thick!! Never go again I would give 0 stars if aloud

We have been going every Friday to Casey’s and have enjoyed the warm welcome and the lovely fish and chips. My two daughters entered one of the Christmas competitions to win a chocolate wreath and they won! Thank you Casey’s, we will be visiting again soon. 👍🏻👍🏻

Note: this fish and chip shop is under new management. It’s seen a significant price increase since changing hands and the quality has dropped as well as the portion size! Casey’s used to be the best value for money in town. Now it’s no cheaper and the quality is poor. Go to barracuda or queens drive. Much better Don’t like to post bad reviews but it’s a real shame

Having used Casey's several times over the past couple of years and always been pleased with the quality of the food and friendly staff, we called in just for fish n chips and were amazed at the lower standard of everything. What's happened? For goodness sake the fish is greasy and small, the chips are anaemic, and the smiles have vanished from the staff. The new owners just have to buck their ideas up or they will lose all their trade to barracuda. We are one of them.

Casey's was an amazing family run fish shop that supported local sports clubs and the homeless. The food was beautiful, always fresh at an amazing price. But now it's been taken over, the prices have risen, the menu has disappeared and not as much choice, the food just doesn't seem to have the same zing to it. You can see this when you go and there's hardly any customers, the place used to have people queuing out of the door but not any more. Guess it's time to fish around for somewhere else to go.

Despite have transferred to new ownership relatively recently, the fish & chips are still very good here, very fresh white fish, good batter and nice chips. The choices available have been reduced and the prices increased a little but I think still represents good value. Staff are nice as well and you can always have a bit of a laugh with them.

Previously reviewed Casey's in April last year, rated it excellent then. Now under new ownership, serious price increases, serious deterioration in quality, serious loss of character. Will go elsewhere in future.

Me and my partner always go here because it’s local and also very yummy. Recently been taken over by new owners who have put the price up quite a lot for the lunchtime special. You do get more gravy but for the extra price it’s not really worth it. Lovely staff and still super delicious!

I have heard some good reviews recently and wasn't disappointed on a lunchtime Casey's do a special offer small fish and chips or small fish chips battered sausage and mushy peas for £2.85 if you eat at one of the small inside or outside tables you get a free cup of ☕️ a special costs £3.95 they also do a monster fish and chip platter with sides if you can down the lot in an hour you get it free my portion was just right well cooked hot and tasty served with a smile well worth a visit

Great food at great prices. They also do a massive fish challenge as well. The owners also help the homeless at Christmas as well

Beautiful white haddock and crispy chips are what everyone desires from a fish n chip shop, look no further than caseys because what you want is here. We just love the food here and, when coupled with the really friendly staff makes the dining experience complete. Caseys really are one of the best fish n chip shop's in the wakefield area.

6 of us rolled up here on a Thurs night for 4 of us to tackle the 'whale challenge'. (Refer to website for details). The owner and his staff are very welcoming and very friendly. Only a small seating area but still got us in comfortably for our feast which we all agreed was beautifully cooked and great value for money. Great with kids too! You must give this place a try as you will not be disappointed. Will be back

If you are visiting Ossett and you like Fish & Chips this is the best one to visit. Also the portions are huge; in a good way!! 50p chips is the portion for a dinosaur and the chippy down the road from it is £2 for a cone -- rip off

Sausage was rubbery. This place relies too much on it's gimmicks which massive fish and the like .But I suppose plenty of people buy into it.

Four of us went here to try the challenge, a 36oz fish, 16oz of chips and four sides of your choice, I went for two gravy and two peas, unlimited drinks for as long as your eating and you have one hour to eat it.

We don't have fish and chips very often so when we do it's a bit of a treat.

We had two fish, sausage, peas and curry. And we can honestly say that we were very disappointed! The fish was small and very greasy it looked as though they had been cooked for ages and the sausage was inedible. Very tough and chewy. Needless to say we shall not be using Casey's again.

Best Fish 'n' Chips ever. Couldn't believe to portions when I bought them; 50p chips is a mountain of chips!!! Brilliant staff, lovely grub, highley recoment you take a visit next time your in Ossett 🐟+🍟=yum

He oído algunas críticas buenas recientemente y no me decepcionó en un almuerzo Casey's hacer una oferta especial de pescado y patatas fritas o patatas fritas pequeño pequeño pescado rebozado salchichas y blanda guisantes por £2. 85 si comes en uno de los pequeños dentro o fuera mesas te dan una taza gratis un especial ☕ ️ cuesta 3. 95 también tienen un pescado monster y fuente de chip con lados si puedes bajar el lote en una hora podrá conseguir gratis mi parte fue justo bien cocinada caliente y sabroso, servido con una sonrisa bien vale la pena una visita

Called in this week to see what all the hype was about, nice chip shop , plenty of options , all the usual's , and a "Challenge" . eat a massive fish , chips , t-cake , peas , beans, gravy and curry sauce in under an hour and get it for free !!
