Best pint of Guinness in Bude!!!!!! Also good food. All the sport you could want. Great atmosphere. Pay a visit.

Great local pub with plenty of big TV screens to enjoy sports events. Staff were fast, friendly and efficient, drink selection wide and prices reasonable. I didn’t eat but the food being served to others looked great. Dog friendly with some free parking and a large paid for car park nearby.

Came for lunch after the beach. We shared an ultimate kebab which was good (only feedback I’d give is many people will opt for this as a sharer and when it arrives they only put it in one bowl with one bread so would be good to serve it up as if you could share if you wanted to… we had to ask for extra cuttlery and extra plates). Inside it’s a bit run down but the beer garden outside is lovely with views of the sea.

Absolutely amazing pub...sooooo friendly...Great staff...Good food...make fuss of people and dogs....cannot fault it at all...felt so welcome...home from home...we would definitely recommend...thank to the crooklets Inn staff for being wonderful

Good crisps, coke and you can watch football or rugby, nice drinks and good atmosphere. The locals are nice.

Lovely pub in Bude, close to Crooklets Beach. Great service, staff friendly and drinks and food very good quality. Would recommend, we stayed close by and this was local to us, you could tell they are a popular spot for not just tourists but the locals too. Great atmosphere, well worth a visit! We will be back on our next trip.

Quick stop for a pint, ended up having dinner which was lovely. 3 kids and 4 adults are lovely ‘American’ pub food, which was massive and good value. They also deliver apparently. Will definitely be back

I've been visiting Bude in Cornwall for 4 years. The Crooklets Inn is a very welcoming Inn, the beer food and atmosphere are to a very high standard. I wanted to watch a football game, and it clashed with another on at the same time, no problem they said.They have a large screen in the conservatory, one in the snug, and two in the bar. They split the screens so both games were able to be watched. Thankyou all, and special thanks to the lady behind the bar, sorry I didn't get her name, but she certainly earned her money that night. We booked Bude for a holiday for the 2nd time after loving the 1st time so much. Loads of places to eat and drink but we always end up coming back to the Crooklets. Great range of drinks, friendly staff and locals and the food is amazing! We ate here most nights as there is so much to try and never had a bad meal. Delivery also arrives hot and on time. Highly recommended

My 8th year holidaying in Bude but this is the first year we ever visited this place as the busy Rosie’s has the prime beach location. We had always given it a swerve to be able to enjoy the beach front. This place was recommended to me by local Bude shopkeepers as a place worth a visit as the food is supposed to be top notch. And they were right. Ate there 4 or 5 times over our 2 week break and each time the food was amazing. Beers were good, loads of screens for sport events and great staff. If you are ever in Bude then give it a go. We should have given it a chance years ago. Will definitely return if and when we holiday in Bude again.

Visited today with our children. Friendly staff, music on at a pleasant sound level. Dogs welcome. Good range of seating for drinks or for food, and there is outdoor seating if you want to brave the wind. Sea views and sunsets. Good range of options on the menu (Food by Feast), which include pizzas, American BBQ style, and kebabs. I thought the kids mini feast is a great idea (mix and match) and the portions were quite big. Food is served in sturdy biodegradable paper trays, which is better than it sounds! Our food was delicious and served to us quickly. Good range of drinks at the bar too.

Always been a favourite of ours, but disappointed to find that they no longer do Sunday lunch. Will frequent for drinks though x

Sorry to have to say this, but the food was the worst I have had in years. You could say that you get what you pay for, but honestly I'm sure there are many places who sell meals for similar prices at much better quality. I ordered a loaded fries option and jalapeño poppers. The jalapeño poppers barely had any jalapeño in at all. Maybe a pinch, within what was basically just a ball of fried full fat soft cheese. Which just tastes like fat melting in your mouth - pretty rancid. The chips to be fair, were fine. But the chili on top was as sweet as jam. Not sure anyone attempted to taste this before they sent it out. My partner's burger apparently tasted like a rustlers burger. I would not go back here again.

An interesting menu, such amazing value. Well cooked and we didn’t have to wait long. Everything hot and fresh. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Lovely atmosphere for an evening out with a group of friends.

I cannot recommended this place on any level. Please do not waste your time and money here. We sat down early evening for a beer and some food after driving 5 hours to Cornwall. We ordered food (burritos, pulled pork and chips) from the menu....

Staff were mostly polite but very attentive. We were seated as a walk in and the food came ery quickly. We had the vegan burger and vegan dirty fries, dirty cow fries and the SFC burger. All was very tasty 😋 and a reasonable price....

Amazing pub, they no longer are a restaurant though and have takeaway delivered to the pub through 2yoo takeaways, yummy food and great staff!

Bearing in mind how busy the pub was, the one singular bar server, Poppy. She did very well dealing with serving customers, did an excellent job of serving people.

The pub was OK. It took ages to be seated but once we were in the service was friendly and efficient. Food decent. Excellent views of the sea and a good place to watch the sun set.

Popped in for drinks ,well run social distancing with t&t in place ,very friendly ,even put the footy on massive TV in conservatory for me ..dog friendly easy to use ordering app very friendly as was next door as part of same company .

we visited to watch football. Staff happily made sure the right match was playing in bar. Great food and friendly service- really recommended.

We came here to watch the league 1 playoff game which was at the same time as the Man United game. The gentleman at the bar worked very hard to engineer a way so that everyone could watch the game they wanted. He kept everyone happy and we appreciated the extra effort he went to. On top of that the service was slick, staff friendly and great environment!

Social distancing is really well organised. We ordered using QR from the menu, dirty fries, nachos and fajitas, all was really fresh and tasty.

We would pop into the Inn after a day on the beach and enjoy a pint sat outside in the sun - if wet we would go into the conservatory. Good beer, good staff, we were always made welcome.

Delighted to see that they had kicked out all the tables and chairs and replaced them with sofas and armchairs. Yay! we have a proper pub to go to again. Great local beers wonderful location a few hundred yards from the beach. Pool table at the back, bright sunny conservatory at the front. I can’t tell you how excited I am. Over the summer I am going to be able to come here for an early evening pint with no fear of having chips flicked at me. I’m sure there will still be Kid’s around but we are spared all that stress of families eating together on holiday. Well done to the management for making a clear decision on this. I have seen local pubs in other areas make the same business decision and thrive.

Apparently the Crooklets Inn no longer serves food. Could find no warning of this before we walked there. Were told by the man behind the bar quite abruptly that they don’t do food anymore and told to go somewhere else. So we did.

Stopped here for drinks after a food shopping trip and glad we did. Large well laid out bar near the beach with an excellent selection of craft beers. Food looked really good too.

After looking on here for a recommendation we chose the Crooklets ... not much to look at from the outside but a lovely warm welcoming pub and the Sunday Roast was divine . We Both had beef ( one was a request to cook more well done which they did beautifully) fresh veg , home roasties , homemade Yorkshire’s and simply the best gravy either of us has had in a very long time ! I must add here that we’re both Northeners and the Yorkshire’s and gravy passed with flying colours Sticky toffee pudding was awesome ... we had to share as we were so full .., no problem at all for them . The service was excellent from bar through to restaurant AND they welcome dogs

After spending a week in Bude we finally found a pub/restaurant that was worth visiting. From a nice welcome to the awesome food in the lovely restaurant. Will be back.

Called in whilst on holiday in Bude. Really pleasantly surprised by this place. The setting in the small restaurant was lovely and the food was even better. Steak to die for and amazing chocolate brownie to finish. Top marks to the chef. Great evening

Went as group of 4 having pre booked a table for dinner.

We went to the Crooklets Inn last night with our 9 and 12 year old children, and were given a table in the conservatory. The food was amazing and well presenting. I had crab gnocchi to start followed by seafood tagliatelle but it was a hard decision what to have as other than the obligatory fish and chips, the menu was gastro pub food. The kids both ate off the children’s menu and it was plenty for them even with them being at the top of the bracket for a kids meal.

My husband and I stumbled upon this place on a rainy Sunday afternoon when we were looking for somewhere for lunch and to hide from the bad weather. The food was absolutely incredible, the service was super friendly and it was also dog friendly as well, which is always a plus for dog owners. We will definitely be back during our visit to Bude this week! Five stars!

Ate here as a family of four. The service was friendly and efficient. The beer selection was very good. I’d say this was a very good drinking pub. The food was ok but wasn’t remarkable. Can’t criticise it really as it was pleasant but compared to the other venues in Bude this isn’t quite as good.

Friend came to stay with me whilst I’m vodiykng from New Zealand. We visited this establishment, the steak and chips were amazing!!! And delicious Guinness to boot! Highly recommend Lovely staff and great views! A must visit!!

We were grateful to be fitted in when we arrived close to the end of service on a very busy Saturday night. The staff were friendly and helpful but the real revelation was the quality of the food. This is not your average pub grub; the quality of the ingredients shone through, the food was delicious and the presentation was immaculate. What's more it didn't break the bank.. It's a lovey local pub in a great location close to the beach with food that makes it well worth a visit. We will be back.

Food was nice, you can tell it's majorly fresh. Bar prices are way to high but if people pay that why change it.... Staff just seem dull and act like ordering is a hassle..makes you feel unwelcome. However clean dining area and nice views.

Having extolled the virtues of Crooklets Inn on a couple of occasions, I took friends for lunch last Monday. Having ordered and being served our drinks I asked for menu only to be told that it's chef's day off. Now I know (having been in the trade myself) we have to have time away from work but perhaps they could have let us know that food wasn't available prior to serving our £4 .50 a pint Harbour ale and £4.30 shandies. Ouch! Finished drinks and went elsewhere (Rosies) Shame really as I love this pub!

really thought this would be just pub grub. Only a stones throw from our bungalow. We visited last week and the restaurant part is in a conservatory. The evening was so hot and the views outstanding. I had a lovely seafood soup with pieces of fish, mussels, and prawns delicious. All the food was delicious and we only wishes we had visited earlier because we would have booked again.

I've been visiting Bude for decades, ever since I was a kid, and despite walking past the Crooklets Inn, had never visited until today. We booked a table on the recommendation of our taxi driver a few nights before, and I was completely blown away by the brilliant food! The staff were incredibly friendly, and there are great options for meat-eaters and vegetarians alike. We watched the sun go down over Crooklets Beach, enjoying a brilliantly cooked 3-course meal, that was so fresh and different from the standard pub fare you might expect!

A very pleasant place to drink. (It has accommodation but I wasn't staying there.) Lovely décor inside, great conservatory area and I sat outside with lovely views of Summerleaze Downs and the sea of course.

We sat outside as was a lovely sunny day. We ordered a beef roast dinner which came with 6 veg and roast potatoes but the best was fairly rare which surprised me.

Open all day?? But didn’t serve till 12pm. That ain’t all day. Food served 12pm till 2pm but no food service on a Saturday. Don’t waste your time visiting.

Good service and drinks, can sit outside and watch the golf or inside have pool and sports tv. Drinks well priced and much better service than neighbouring bar/hotel. Sun spot in the evening, well worth a visit.

After a long day traveling we decided to eat next to our hotel. We had mussels and scollops dishes to start which were both excellent quality. The main courses were simple cod and chips for me which was good plus pan fried hake on crushed potatoes with crab which my wife said was excellent. The desserts were rhubarb crumble and lemon posset again just the right amounts.

I went to the Crooklets Inn on a very sunny Saturday. The beer garden at the front of the Inn was a perfect spot to enjoy the sun and to catch up with a few friends. With the rest of our party outside, I went to the bar with one of my friends. It was not overly busy, however, busy enough to need at least one other person on the bar. After waiting for about fifteen minutes, I finally managed to order my two pints. The waitress filled the glasses up and left about an inch and a half from the top of the glass. I immediately asked if she could fill it up, however, she then walked off to the other side of the bar to continue serving. Because the bar was pretty busy, I didn't want to embarrass the young girl by following her around the bar with my drinks so I left it. However, for the price I paid (just under £10 for two 3/4 pints of cider), I should have been clearer.

The sausages arrived colder than my pint of Heineken. The chef's homemade beans should have stayed at his home, I like Heinz. A highly skilled vet could have saved my bacon quite frankly, rather disappointing when I asked for it chromated ...these were all the things that it wasnt! It was bloody beautiful and I would have eaten it twice, maybe three times over. Mucho love to the crookies and the chef!!

We were recommended to visit this restaurant for fish and chips. A lovely side conservatory letting in the evening sun. The food was well presented and tasty.

We visited the bar in March and had a dirty burger did not know watt to expect but on arivel it looked good and the tast was spot on if you visit. You must try it. My wife and I had one with chips the bowls are Larg so if you are a couple one in plenty. It is worth every penny of £8.50

We had dinner here while walking the SWCP. The homemade nachos are absolutely delicious but they are definitely NOT a starter, whatever it says on the menu. I hardly had room for my creme brulee! Good range of beers. We especially liked the Lushington's Pale Ale. Very friendly service.

Okay so I'll start by saying the menu is basic and it's not huge. But it does the sort of stuff you want at average/reasonable prices. The cheeseburger I had was absolutely scrumptious as where the chunky chips.We booked in, although didn't need to as it wasn't busy at all, it was nice and quiet. The atmosphere was lovely inside. We sat in the conservatory facing towards Crooklets Beach and it was a lovely view to have whilst eating our dinner. There was fairy lights on the ceiling of the conservatory which equally made it really pretty inside.Staff were also lovely. I can't recommend this place enough- the only thing I will say is the meals could have maybe done with a salad garnish or baked beans for example to have gone with the burger and chips so it wasn't so dry I guess? But even so my meal was lovely so I can't complain but just a suggestion! Thanks so much for a great meal :) I would love to return!

Food and drink very good, at first we thought a little expensive but once we received our meal the quality was great, definertly what you pay for..

There were 8 in our group and we were all very happy with meal we had here the chicken supreme and the duck dish were really tasty. Would have had a desert but at the time only 3 choices or ice cream on the menu so we nipped to Rosies for desert. However if I were this way in future I would definitely visit for a meal here again.

We booked a table here based on the reviews we had read. We were unable to book for Sunday lunch so went in the evening for dinner. When booking, we were pre-warned that there was a large booking of 20 people at a similar time. This didn't affect our meal though. We were a group of 7 and waited around 45 minutes for food. Was definitely worth the wait though! We had fish and chips, chicken supreme, ham, egg and chips, duck breast, sea bass and a chicken burger and all of it was delicious. We also had desserts. Again these were tasty but the choices were limited. Service was good and friendly. I'd visit again for a tasty meal by the beach.

Very friendly staff who couldn't do enough for us, the food was very good. We had the flat bread & nacho's to start, all homemade and delicious. For mains we had chicken supreme, veggie lasagne, & bolognese all of which were cooked to perfection. Can't fault this place and surprised it wasn't busier . We had our dog with us who was welcome.Wasn't too expensive either.

To be frank after a longish walk we had hoped to be served swiftly (it is a bar after all). We had our young dog with us, and she was getting a bit bored.The bar and restaurant area was very busy and perhaps that is why we had to wait over an hour for our food. The food was fine, nothing to write home about. Smallish portions and my Potato Rosti was cremated (sorry but that's the most appropriate description) and the Chicken Supreme which was on the bone was quite dry and tough. In fairness, some of the others in our group thought their Chicken Supreme was okay. Portions are on the small side, although the Fish and Chips was a healthy portion. The staff were polite and friendly enough and very apologetic about the delay, so no point in taking it out on them who are clearly doing their best. Maybe it's the kitchen staff. All in all and keeping in mind it is a bar after all, the food prices are high and not good value for money. It's a nice place though and in a lovely spot.

Visited because of good tripadvisor reviews. Went for sunday lunch. Not impressed on entering, but the service was good and the food was excellent. Loads of fresh veg, the meat was beautiful and loads of it. The nut roast was one of the best i have tasted. Could barely get through the dessert. Kids' portions were huge. Altogether a lovely meal.

Was told that the food was much improved following a change in ownership or management and it was fine. However, service was a disaster. Orders were supposed to be taken at table but eventually we had to fetch somebody from behind the bar to take our order. The food was then delivered to the wrong table (who understandably began to eat it as that part of our order was the same as they had ordered). Staff eventually sorted things out and were very apologetic and even offered a free round of drinks. However you either hire staff who know what they are doing or you train them!

Looking for dinner at a late hour and found this place still open to try. Quite happy with our food and drink. Buttternut squash hummus panini appetizer was yummy and we both agreed the fish (with chips) was the best in recent experience. Not a big chips eater, but these were worth the calories. Lovely staff. Sat outdoors and enjoyed all the people bringing their dogs out for the evening. Nice selection of beers. Enjoyed the Tintagel Brewery ale. Plan to go back for a repeat before our week iin Cornwall is through.

My girlfriend were staying nearby and popped into the Crooklets Inn for an evening meal and some drinks. The staff were very helpful and the bar hadn't a full range of ales and ciders with many been local! The large conservertory was lovely to sit in with the sun coming in. The food was very nice and above my expections. Very good value and nice Inn.

We had dinner here one evening during our holiday, we have eaten here before and highly recommend it.The food is reasonably varied and has a good selection for all the family. The restaurant is bright and has windows along the wall facing the beach, this is where the sun sets and can offer some nice views. The service was very good with attentive staff. We had a selection from the menu, all very tasty, hot and plentiful, the ales on offer are also great. We didn't have desert so cant comment.Would i visit again? - Yes, we eat there every year we go to Bude, you cant go wrong.

Went 2 days in a row which basically tells you everything. Great food both days from hake off the special board to chicken supreme of the menu and steak sandwiches the second day. Everything was lovely and the chips we had with the steak sandwiches were the best chips I had ever had out. As someone already said don't be put off from the outside of the building, it is very nice inside and the service is first class. Dog friendly too if you have canine pals.

Our first glass of wine was a bit oxidised but it was politely and quickly changed without offence. We also moved table to get an even better view - again without any trouble. Service was professional but laid back and not rushed. Looking forward to going back!
