Crispins Fish and Chips in Maidstone

Some will say this place has gotten a little pricey, although it may, that's due to the times however when it comes to quality, some of the menu items are fire!!! The star is the smash burgers and fried chicken. Chicken is lovely but the burgers are out of thus world and reasonably priced to boot! I do love Crispins, great for the local community. The only complaint I would say is that the family or large portion of chips need to be larger, especially for over a £5. I wish I took photos!!!

Couldn't eat the savaloy as it was stone cold. Not even slightly warm. It was like it hadn't been cooked. Other items chips, fish and kids meal were OK.

Worst takeaway I’ve had in years, won’t be using again. Fish so overcooked it was a nasty hollow shell of greasy batter. Actually threw it away, I can still taste the grease.

Our preferred chippy. Super value well cooked fish with nice chips. Beware portions are generous haddock overhangs plate and cod thick and tasty and we share chips. Batter NEVER thick greasy. They even managed a large party order for 70 delivered on time with not one complaint from guests. They will take skin off your cod if you want.

Ordered by phone as I have done several times before (last time only a week ago). Given time to arrive and pay and collect. Attended on time but ignored as staff dealing with Just Eat and Deliveroo, and maybe their mates too. No attempt made to acknowledge me on arrival or to offer service. Yes shop was busy but didn’t get the feel they were interested in me as a customer. Waited over 20 minutes after the time I was told my order would be ready before anyone showed any interest in me to then be told it was me who should have announced my arrival …. which, without shouting at staff, was impossible based on no one making eye contact with me for the whole time I was there; eg apparently no interest in my custom. Gave up and went to Marino’s on A20 Bearsted ….. served straight away with a smile, and food much better IMO. I won’t bother with this chippy ever again.

Everything is fresh and is hand cooked too ensure the quality of the product for every customer. From the care and quality of the potatoes too the precise cut off the fish. All of the burgers are Freshly made/pressed for every order made with 100% steak mince. Perfectly cooked served with your choice of toppings. The selection of sausages are from KORKERS and offer a special foot long sausage original or battered.

February 2018, Seems very popular as it’s always busy, never have to wait long, and you can phone in an order ahead. 3rd time I’ve eaten from here as I’m new to the area, tho I would travel a few miles now I know the quality, as I have been thoroughly satisfied each time. Good service, food is cooked to perfection and tasty, generous size portions. 17.09.18... I’ve taken the 5 stars down from six months ago, ouch, my partner went in tonight and ordered 2 savaloys and chips, along with our usual large cod, we always ask for the savaloys to be fried for a couple of minutes as it crisps the skin and in my opinion enhances the flavour, no harm done, we’re regular customers. Never been a problem before and staff always friendly and good good. But on this instance appalling excuse to say dipping a couple of savaloys will ruin the oil!!????? It has fish cooked in it? Starchy potato’s, sausages, COD roe, chicken, batter, nuggets??? Surely this can not be any worse? I worked in a fish bar for 6 years and if requested never had a problem pleasing my customers requests (within reason of course!) and never once did dipping a savaloy in the oil for a minute or two ‘ruin’ the oil??! After a long shift at work for us both today we decided a quick tasty fix for dinner, Although disappointed, Needless to say we didn’t get what I originally wanted KFC got our custom for tea!

Very clean chippy.... I always get my Friday chippy fix from here ... the chips are so fluffy and well cooked always. Reminds me of a chippy called Mr Chips in my hometown Bulawayo. Friendly staff

Awful customer service - rude staff argued when they got the order wrong (just as well I checked it before heading home) and batter in the fish was soggy and the chips small and manky - I rarely write a bad review but the service and food quality was truly appalling - most certainly won’t be going back!

Fab chippy great value. Chips are not at all greasy and the southern fried chicken is Delicious ! Always good service with a smile.

Not had fish and chips for a few years and had never been here. Best fish and chips we have had in a long time, very good prices and cannot fault, good deals in the shop and friendly staff, worth a visit :)

Long wait, the fishb batter was underdone and greasy, and the chips overcooked I felt relatively expensive for what you get. Not recommended.

De hecho utilizamos TripAdvisor para ver dónde ir para el té y un sitio pequeño rápido ... Crispins. Llegamos allí unos 20:00 listos para comida 2 de nosotros fuimos en y el resto de nosotros esperamos. Y esperamos y esperamos y esperamos. El servicio fue terrible, pero cuando en realidad nos las arreglamos para comer nuestra comida alrededor 21:30 estaba bien, pero no está tan mal.

pescado y patatas fritas, no grasa, de hecho probablemente las mejores patatas fritas que he comido en mucho tiempo. establecimiento limpio, y el personal es cortés, servicio rápido y la comida deliciosa. ¿Qué más se puede pedir.

These have been my local for years & they are always impeccable service. Generous portions, always consist in their quality in their fish & chips.

Cod from here is very nice. Big chunky flakes, crispy batter. Chips are nice too. Can't go wrong ordering from here.

If you buy your fish and chips here on a Friday you can guarantee good quality and consistency. However other days of the week its a bit pot luck!I always tend to buy on a Friday when the senior management is there. On the days they are missing the standard in my opinion, is not so good! However It's certainly the best fish & chip restaurant in Maidstone for overall good standard and quality

its got to have more opening ours and more parking and pelope where nail varnish and hats and can they have nane badges and name tags with their name on it

You can trust to have a good fish and chips from them. They are popular, it is freshly cooked, need to wait for extra large but very good value.
