Excellent, the title says it all, along with friendly service, really convenient for a fast breakfast or brunch If going onto, or arriving on, the Portsmouth Gosport passenger ferry

Little hidden gem of a cafe. Very friendly staff. Value for money as get a tea or coffee in with the price of breakfast unlike other places. Lovely food and never disappointed. Nice tea. Quick service and reasonable prices. Definitely worth a visit. Will go more often. Thanks ladies.

This is my go to for a top breakfast / brunch always clean, good quality food at very reasonable prices. The latest hash brown addition is excellent.

My boat is stored over the road in Gosport Marina so was the obvious choice for breakfast before a days fishing… To date since joining Gosport Marina The Crews Mess has become an integral part of my our boating experience. The breakfast is everything you would expect and more, service is fast and the cost is particulaly reasonable! More importantly the owner Michelle is a delight, friendly and evidently loves her work.. what’s not to love?

I've been coming here for years and thought it was about time I wrote a review. I can't recommend this place highly enough, service is fast and food is great. There's a good selection of breakfasts and kids menu.

A popular venue near Gosport Marina. A regular haunt for breakfast and lunch. The owner is fabulous and nothing is too much trouble. My favourites are; Breakfast — Omelette Lunch — Chilli con carne Great cup of tea!!!

So on a windy wet day I visited here & the breakfast was of decent standards & cooked very quick as didn’t have to wait after seating.. Katie’s didn’t open till 9.00am (still not been) so here is a decent old fashioned greasy spoon. £7.80 for Breaky/coffee (See pic)

On a cold day we tried the Crew Mess Cafe for their all day breakfast. The food was delicious and cooked to order. There is a good selection ranging from the mega breakfast to more modest ones. All at a reasonable price. We would definitely return.

They do a brilliant take away breakfast bap, which is brilliant for a sailor wanting a bite to go after a heavy night. The eat-in food is good too.

Michelle is fantastic. Anytime of night or day and Michelle is there for you. Not only is the food fantastic, and the prices really good, the service is just as brilliant. It’s that good we use the crew mess cafe every single day. Bulk orders are also not an issue. Breakfast is lovely. The veggie breakfast is also great. Recently tried the paninis. Mega breakfast is mega. Ate here a number of times when visiting friends. Our go to place for a recovery breakfast.

Clean decor, great food, polite service. What more could one ask? If I visit Gosport, this is 'my' place!

We had some very ordinary breakfasts here. The place was not busy.The proprietor had a constant look of gloom on her face.The food was really rather low quality. Cheapest possible ingredients.Signage in the cafe boasted that they only use tasty cumberland sausages.. untrue as they were of poor quality probably, had very little flavour and were nithing like a cumberland recipe.Price was bad considering the quality.

Bulk standard/ actually you can get much better. Service with a scowl . But then she is on her own doing everything- this doesn’t create a welcoming “come again atmosphere” more “what do you want, delivered and cooked on mass.

My "go to" place in Gosport for breakfast. English breakfast including coffee and toast freshly cooked by Michelle for £5. Fantastic...looking forward to my next visit. Thanks Mike.

Set apart from the usual high street same old... this place is a quintessential greasy spoon. Certainly a place that’s normally not on my radar... wow how wrong was I...The food was the all day Captains breakfast and it was brilliant. Flavoursome, great value and I’d certainly return. The coffee, very important to me, I thought some awful instant, but it wasn’t. Lavazza never fails. 10/10

I've eaten here previously on several occasions and always been happy, however, yesterday was a severe disappointment.It was about 1.15 when I arrived and ordered a large breakfast and it was reasonably busy at that time, before my food arrived the other customers finished and left leaving me as the sole customer.My food arrived and can say I have no complaints about that as normal, however, I did not appreciate the staff deciding to clean the floor with bleach as soon as I began to eat!, the intense smell was intolerable and completely uneccassary when people were eating, absolutely no thought for their customers, if they wanted to close early why not decline to take a food order rather than get a negative review?Would I use the business again....... definitely not as there a plenty of similar establishments in the area.

Stuck in the marina due to weather, came and had a top cooked breakfast for the family. 5 completely empty plates says it all.

Really clean. Easy service. Nice cafetière of coffee. Cheese on toast with an egg on it. Will visit again.

Nice simple food, tables clean and flavoursome food what more could you ask for in gosport town. Staff were friendly and made sure everything was ok. Plenty of tables available. Would recommend for a simple breakfast.

Disappointing, sometimes these cafes produce some really good food - but not on this occasion. The smell of overcooked fat as you walked in should have warned me and we should have left. Our fault.

Esperamos fuera aquí el domingo 26 a las 0730sólo para ser decepcionados por las luces no viene y la puerta no se abre! Dice su abierto 7 días a la semana en las 0730. Si no consigue levantarse temprano un domingo, le sugiero que deje el pub un poco antes en una noche de sábado.

Crews desastre cafe Gosport ofrecen una gran variedad de desayunos y almuerzos a un precio estupendo. Teníamos el desayuno tamaño king para menos de £6 y venía con 2 salchichas 2 huevo 2 bacon hashbrown granos y tostadas con café.

Yo estaba de visita, y el desayuno era una característica de mi visita! Así que entré, contentos de ver la 5 estrellas para higiene, resultado en los precios y parecía que lo que yo espero para la ubicación realmente. El servicio era bastante rápido, pero no ayuda realmente, vi un cliente antes de que me pregunte por cubiertos hicieron un favor, ya que no la había visto donde estaba (a la derecha, cerca de la puerta). Así que sin haberme escuchado el cliente anterior, hubiera sido útil si me levantaron cubiertos de camino con la comida o en el momento de ordenar dicho para recoger cubiertos por la puerta. De todos modos la comida en sí - sí, nada realmente malo, pero igualmente nada a diferenciarlo de otros lugares. A menudo un café tendrá algo que hace que destaque, por ejemplo salchichas local carnicería, gruesas pan crujiente - algo que los hace diferentes y, por lo tanto, inolvidable. Mi pensamiento al ver la comida era "blimey allí no muchos hongos "tuve 6 - son lonchas ni siquiera toda las setas! Oí que una mujer con su comentario compañero no tienen muchas setas. Así que sí mi consejo, dar unas cuantas más setas y encontrar un ingrediente que tienen que levantar a la norma. En realidad, ¿por qué no matar dos pájaros con una piedra añadiendo pequeñas cosas que los champiñones bacon, si no me dicen que con un desayuno gratuito para la idea!

Popped in for a Captains Breakfast and was definitely not disappointed. Always very nice and a very good portion plus the price is good too. Always enjoy a monthly breakfast here.

Este café minúsculo, la vuelta de la esquina de la calle mayor, frente a la terminal de ferry es un gran hallazgo. Desde fuera no parece mucho, pero el tocino butties crujientes eran fabulosas. Grandes tazas de té y café. Es un pequeño negocio familiar muy bien.

Having walked past on a number of occasions, I popped in here for lunch. Whilst it was busy, the lady dealing with the ordering and serving was most impressive, and meals were produced with minimum delay. There is a good choice on the menu and prices are fair. I can definitely recommend the Sausages and Mash and will call again. If you are looking for a straightforward meal well prepared and cooked, then look no further.

Two sandwiches ordered. Sausage and tomato and bacon,sausage,egg and tomato. Standard right? Not so I got baps and was charged £9 so disgusted at what I got I'm so angry I didn't challenge the price when I ordered. I should've cooked my own. Bottom line I won't be returning or recommending to anyone. There are other cafes around the area, I feel I made the wrong decision.

Out one Saturday morning with our very well behaved dog, Too cold to sit outside, no one would let us eat inside with our dog. Very nice lady at this cafe said yes, and then cooked us a basic but delicious breakfast. Will definitely go back.

Went in for a cooked breakfast - the place was busy, and lady who served us friendly and polite. The breakfast was nothing special and sauces on the table cheap and nasty. Expensive for what it was. Did what is said on the tin.

A great breakfast the best fry up ever .....clean tidy hot food well presented without fuss. The owner/chef works tirelessly... excellent !

Underused and excellent traditional 'greasy spoon' and I mean that in the most complimentary way. Not many everyday cafes are actually that proficient at the good old 'fry up' breakfast. But the enigmatic Michelle is a master of her trade, and does the best fried breakfast around Gosport, if not around the south coast generally!Do yourself a favour and give her place a try, it might be a cliched term to use these days, but you really will not be disappointed!

This was my first visit here and I was pleasantly surprised,Lovely warm welcome, with super fast service, food was really very nice with good portions and a really good choice on the menu so am going to have to return shortly to try some more :-)

This is an honest, simple cafe that serves freshly cooked, unpretentious but very good food. Breakfasted here after an overnight in Gosport marina and enjoyed the refreshing simplicity and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Quick and welcoming service - what's not to like?

A welcomed breakfast after an overnight sail back from Plymouth. A pretty basic cafe, but the food was great, and service quick. I enjoyed a vegetarian breakfast although the Full English also looked inviting. Will visit again when berthing in Gosport.

Great little cafe just off the Gosport Ferry. Good quality food at a low price. The breakfasts are particularly good.

Used the Crew Mess just once and found it ok, basically like a slightly upmarket transport café.Food was wholesome and well cooked and very nice.Service was polite and the café looked clean and well presentedCar parking is available close by.

This is the best cafe that I have visited - I have been a regular for several years.Fantastic value and all freshly cooked by the owner.Clean and bright premises. Highly recommended!!! 5 stars!!!

There are more eating establishments per head in Gosport than anywhere else that I have visited.Having used them all at some time or other I found that The Crew Mess gives the best service and value for money, particularly where breakfasts are concerned. The young lady who serves and cooks is very helpful and always ready with a smile. If you do decide to go here for your breakfast then you must try the Bubble & Squeak which is first class.
