Always very helpful, friendly staff

I went to Sainsburys to collect an argos item and got a shop to. The staff were great, and the shop looked fab. Its not far from me so I will return, thanks

The staff here are friendly and knowledgeable about a wide range of outdoor activities, and the equipment they stock is always of a high quality.

I recently had an extremely disappointing experience at Craigdon, in Edinburgh, that I feel compelled to share. Despite my excitement to hit the slopes, the staff's attitude and lack of service completely soured my visit. Firstly, the ski technician outright refused to fit bindings for my skis, citing reasons that seemed arbitrary and unfounded. Their dismissive attitude made me feel unwelcome and undervalued as a customer. Instead of offering assistance or finding a solution, they seemed more interested in finding problems and shutting down any attempt to resolve them. Furthermore, the technician's patronizing demeanor only exacerbated the situation. Instead of addressing my concerns with professionalism and respect, they spoke down to me, making me feel incompetent and uninformed about my own equipment. To add insult to injury, when I sought assistance from other nearby ski shops, I was met with a stark contrast in service. Two alternative shops were more than happy to accommodate my needs and we're able to fit the bindings! The lack of willingness to help, coupled with condescending behavior, left me feeling frustrated and undervalued as a customer. I would strongly advise others to seek out alternative options for their skiing needs.

Great shop with friendly staff- I went in to gear up for climbing Kilimanjaro and they were very knowledgeable about the kit I would need, giving good advice but without overselling things.

A woman who was works there came out with the classic " I don't want to be rude but..'then proceeded to be rude. Poor, smart-alecky service.

Note this is mainly a Sainsbury's now. Cafe and shop still there though. Could do with some outside lighting.

Well this place may well be wonderful - when it re-opens! Travelled a reasonable distance a few weeks back, only to discover the cafe open, but the "shop" not much better than a stall at a jumble sale! Even worse was the very rude / sarcastic employee on the door, who almost seemed to be spoiling for a fight. I will NOT be back.

Not a review of the shop, rather that they haven’t updated the Google map entry to show that they are closed for refurbishment until November 2023 We made a detour to discover it was closed

This place is fantastic! Great stock, well laid out and a good vibe. The 5 stars go to the staff though - every time I have been in they are always so helpful and super knowledgable about the gear they sell. I've been a few times recently as I am currently researching and looking for equipment for a long backpacking trip I am due to do and everytime I've been in I always get a lovely member of staff who is never too busy to help me. Although I haven't bought anything yet I am definitely going to purchase my hiking shoes from here as their customer service has made me want to purchase from this store!

Top class service and advice from very experienced staff. Went in for a boot fitting and had a rough idea of what I was after but was blown away by the knowledge level of the deputy manager and store manager, where I was advised to go for Altberg Tethera's. Was really looked after and they weren't done until I got exactly the right boot and sole. Lifetime customer gained.

Craigdon has always been our shop of choice for mountain kit, but they've now fulfilled my need for police boots in a time where the style I was looking for is low in stock and high in demand. Richard went above and beyond to make sure the boots I wanted were waiting for me on my long drive in from Perthshire. Highly knowledgeable, extremely accommodating, and the friendliness of him and the other staff was outstanding! I can't thank Richard enough. Amazing wee shop!! 😁

Stopped here for a quick bite with a mate. We both opted for the soup and panini deal with a coffee. I had the sweet potato soup with goats cheese and a ham and Brie panini - great value at just over a tenner and really enjoyable. I wish I had a place like this close to where I lived. Staff were friendly and efficient and covid guidelines were followed

Good quality gear. Prices OK. Helpful and knowledgeable people in store. Cobbs cafe upstairs offers great food at good prices. Place always very clean and sanitised.

Had to buy a really expensive pair of walking socks to try the boots on properly as my socks were too thin. Sales guy didn't explain that they could stretch the boots if needed for a better fit. He then asked me loudly as I approached the till to pay for the socks where had the other pair of socks gone that I'd initially picked up but decided against because they were even more expensive. Then had to explain my husband had put them back for me, made me feel a bit like a suspect. My husband had a much more positive experience with a different sales guy and didn't have to buy socks so it depends who you get.

We visited for breaksfast after a friend recommended it and were not disappointed. My eggs benedict were cooked to perfection and my husband was really happy about his full breakfast, too. Staff was really helpful and friendly and the outdoor seating area is perfect on a sunny day. Will be back!

Friendly and knowledgeable staff. James took the time to find exactly the right pair of boots for me. They stock Altberg, who make a really good range of boots in lots of different fits. Great choice of equipment and clothing and I found some good value walking poles too. The cafe on the top floor does tasty food and drinks. Well worth the visit and I’d recommend them if your in the area.

Total waste of my time and effort... Lack of sizes in walking boots. Was willing to pay up to £240 for boots but nothing was available and couldn't even order and collect from the shop. Won't be back.

As I cannot visit my grandparents in their house anymore we decided to visit this cafe after hearing good things about it. I pre-booked the table for the three of us as I knew it is a popular destination, however, on arrival I was told that the booking was only written for two. To amend this they added a chair to the table for two without insuring distancing from the table next to us - we looked passed this as we know mistakes can be made. Before ordering we were told we only had the table for an hour which was completely understandable as it is a busy time for cafes.We ordered 10 minutes into our booking slot, when ordering the girl for the kitchen informed the girl serving me that food would be a half an hour wait, as I was filling in the Track and Trace the girl serving me asked if I heard that in which I replied "yes". I also sympathised with the girl as I too work in a busy cafe and know how stressful it can get at times.After over 30 minutes had been and tables after us getting their food I thought it best to ask politely if they could check on our food (two toasties and a sausage roll). I approached the girl who served me and asked if she could check on our food as it had been over 30 minutes. I was rudely and abruptly answered with "I said 30-40 minutes". Knowing that this was not the case I let her know that was not what she said, she then said the same "30-40 minutes" again almost shouting at me this time and then walked away and stood polishing cutlery. After 40 minutes had passed and ten minutes until we would have to give our table back we still had no food. Because of this we asked for a full refund and left hungry, disappointed completely appalled.

Very knowledgeable and helpful staff, made the shopping experience a decent one and came away with some new equipment that will last and be used regularly.

Very slow service. Table only allowed for one hour but took 15 minutes in the queue to order and coffee arrived 10 minutes before we were told by a rude and aggressive man we had to go. Toastie and watery soup £10.50.

I have very mixed feelings about this place. The café is fabulous. The view and what they serve and the staff in the cafe are all amazing. The staff in the rest of the store (outwith the ski department) are very helpful. The ski department I hate with a passion. Over a period of four years, I have been mis-sold to (more than once). I have been told information which was utterly wrong. Most recently, i was talked at and could hardly get a word in. I try to avoid going to the ski area if I can. I try and find any excuse to go to the café - definitely worth a visit. Breakfast is amazing. Their Eggs Benedict on haggis is just incredible.

I found the staff here to be incredibly helpful. Recently I had to buy new pairs of 3 different types of shoes at once, something I would normally find really stressful. Going here made it really easy. Not only that, but I returned a pair after I realised they weren't exactly what i needed, and realised 3 weeks later that I hadn't taken my orthotics out. I didn't have the receipt and couldn't remember the brand name but the staff stuck with me on the phone trying to find the shoes from their records. Eventually we were able to find the shoe they thought it was. They didn't find the orthotics but took my details in case they turn up later. They went above and beyond and if I wasn't convinced before, I will definitely be buying all my outdoor gear from them in the future.

I was served by a lovely man called martin, he was most helpful and knew about everything I was asking which was super. I was greeted politely by all of the staff. The shop felt very well set up for Safe browsing. I got a real bargain on a tent, I'll definitely be going back!

Normalmente venimos aquí porque es un gran lugar que admite perros, pero hoy no teníamos perros para nuestra primera visita posterior al cierre. Este fabuloso restaurante / cafetería prepara los mejores huevos escalfados de la ciudad, así como una suntuosa variedad de hamburguesas, incluida mi favorita: queso de cabra servido sobre una cama de calabaza asada en un bollo brioche con rodajas de papa caseras y ensalada. Las sopas son siempre sabrosas, saludables y abundantes, mientras que los panes frescos son insuperables. Otro ganador para mí es el revuelto de tofu que es sabroso, fresco y súper saludable. Los pasteles, bollos y otras delicias caseras son siempre de primera clase, al igual que los cafés con una selección de leches de avena, soja, coco, lácteos, etc. Con el nivel de servicio, la limpieza, la presentación del restaurante y, sobre todo, la amabilidad del amable personal, Cobbs at Craigdon se ha convertido en mi lugar favorito para el desayuno, el almuerzo o simplemente una taza de té. Not so much a review as a statement of disbelief. It is really possible that Craigdon Mountain sports have no online shop? All I could find was a page of silly videos. Shame really as I'd planned on spending a good few hundred quid as well. Utterly mental in 2020.

Un domingo, amigos y yo fuimos a comer algo rápido después de caminar por Pentlands. El lugar estaba abarrotado pero logramos encontrar una mesa. Cada uno de nosotros tomamos sopa, pan y mantequilla, y una tetera. Aunque el servicio fue un poco lento para lo que habíamos pedido, valió la pena la espera. La sopa estaba muy caliente y el trozo de pan delicioso. Rápido, sabroso y fácil. Volvería y lo recomendaría.

Huge selections of clothing and footwear, getting out of parking onto south bound road can be a problem

Just dropped in for a coffee mid afternoon. It was very busy. Large selection of cakes etc on offer. Order coffee at the counter, and it was served at our table in a few minutes. Very happy with the coffee and service.

Having not visited for some time, I went back today and whilst the food was excellent, it didn’t look like the floor had been cleaned since my last visit. Come on guys - get the sweeping brush out at least!

Nos detuvimos en el desvío y no esperábamos un café tan bueno. El menú es un sueño de desayuno durante todo el día, imaginativo y bien preparado. También hicieron sopa, hamburguesas, etc. y excelentes pasteles. Las opciones veganas y GF estaban disponibles, además de un menú para niños y una pequeña área de juegos. Una delicia realmente inesperada, con un personal encantador, una ventaja!

Bit pricey, but good kit and advice.

I was very pleasantly surprised by the food here. The quality is great, nice selection, reasonable prices and very good service too. It has a nice relaxed atmosphere as well. I drove past this literally hundreds of times on my commute without ever going into the shop or the restaurant, but both are well worth stopping for.

Visited the shop for the first time today I was very impressed well stocked shop nice friendly and helpful staff nothing a bother to them and very knowledgeable and had a coffee and scone to finish with lots of nice dogs with their owners great that the shop is dog friendly I will definitely be visiting the shop more

I have just visited the cafe at Craigdon mountain shop although the coffee was great I have never been to a cafe were dogs are allowed I thought it was against health and hygiene to have pets except guide dogs were there is food one female came in with her dog and it was slobbering over the things displayed at the counter it put me off my crossiont.

Pretty expensive and not a great amount of variety but the stuff they do sell is top of the range

Great local shop. Expensive but really nice outdoor stuff, in my opinion worth the money. And amazing cafe. Very nice food and drinks, a play area for the little ones and the best part... dogs are welcome everywhere! Ample parking but be aware, because it is situated just off the Edinburgh city bypass it can take a while to get out to the main road.

We love this store as we are able to take our dog with us. We like their clothes and we can take our dog to the restaurant.
