Very slow service and really mediocre food. Scrambled egg was like a rubbery lump. Very expensive for smallish uninspired breakfast. I would NOT go back Don’t core realise this standard of offering just doesn’t fly anymore. Pick up your game Cote. Read the reviews and do something about it.

A quiet early evening meal the starters were quiet good my upgraded steak was very well cooked and hot .The salad four laves of flat parsley and a very small bit of white onion an insult to the herb salad

Went there to celebrate our anniversary. Service and staff were very good. They gave us a glass of champagne on the house to celebrate. An end to a lovely evening.

Fantastic meal, food, drinks and service were outstanding. Great attention paid to food allergy. Will definitely be back.

Have been to this restaurant quite a lot and been happy but do not intend to return. The service was ok but the food was not very good. We had crab starter which seemed so much smaller than it ever has been which is a shame. The cheese soufflés were just luke warm with a horrible side dressing. Not nice at all. The cheese came up with cheese missing so had to send it back and I had to ask for the stale bread to be toasted.. which they did. Truffle chips expensive and very small potion for 5 pound ish.. just disappointed to be honest so will be going elsewhere when I meet my friends. 90.00 bill for the 2 it us. Happy to pay that if its good food.. I regret that I did not let the manager know we were not happy but was with a friend I haven’t seen for a while and only had 2 hours so didn’t want to be complaining but thought its good to give feedback so this can be improved.

Ok so it was Mother's Day and the large restaurant was full to the brim but the management should be fully prepared. For starters we had the Crab Maison. An unbalanced dish which had very little crab in it and was overpowered anyway by the taste of radish and fennel (did they actually mean to use dill I wondered but ran out?) The accompanying baguette tasted like it had been sitting out in the open all day. There was then a wait of 55 minutes for our main dishes to arrive. We complained to three separate waiters, the first two of which never came back to us. The Beef Bourguinon when it finally arrived was very good. Lots of deep flavours so too was the mash. The side dish of vegetables was grim though. I'm don't mind my vegetables "al dente" but they were clearly undercooked and then left under a heat lamp for ages. A very sad looking dish. I'd be embarrassed to send that out as a chef. I had a glass of the red Saint-Chinian AOP Syrah, Domaine du Barres, Languedoc-Roussillon. Maybe it wasn't to my taste but it tasted cheap. I'll give it the benefit of the doubt. We'd lost the will to live by the end so passed on desserts and coffee. I was mindful to take off the service charge but it was only £10 (they only add 10% which is a rarity these days) Won't be returning.

Today was my friends birthday and I had to choose the restaurant and I am so glad I booked to come here. Fantastic service from start to finish food was served hot and delicious. We are looking forward to our next visit throughly recommend 😀

I have been a BIG fan of Cote for many years and it saddens me how the food and service has deteriorated at Cote over the last year or so. Not just Chislehurst (my local) but others as well. I have had bad food and or service at other Cote restaurants, mainly in London, but it's clear now that this is a problem throughout the group. I will not be going to Cote ever again and do NOT want a voucher towards a meal from Customer Service. You could not pay me to take my family for another disappointing meal. If the new(ish) owners don't provide better food, better cooking and more motivate and caring staff then they will have no business.

I write this review too explain how dissatisfied I was with the food. I ordered the chicken Grattan, after a 40minute wait it arrived. Aesthetically it looked awful, the supposedly sauce was a soup with the chicken plonked in the middle, with the grease off the chicken floating on top. I complained and told them how disgusting it was and was offered another one? Off course I rejected the offer. The waitresses were lovely hence the two stars. My friend’s food was poor, the steak frites was thin and poorly cooked. I really like Cote but will not be going again. The food has really gone down in quality.

We arrived at 1.30 for Sunday lunch and seated promptly. Our waitress who was Romanian and lovely had only been there 3 days but was very attentive at first. We only had some nibbles to start us off whilst we waited for our mains. Our waitress appeared about an hour later and couldn’t believe we still didn’t have our lunch. In total we were there 2 and a quarter hours just for a main. I had to ask for a desert menu but because we had been there so long we all passed on deserts and coffee. 2 and a quarter hours is unacceptable for 1 course. The place was busy but not packed out. The food was tasty and our server lovely so that’s why the 3 stars but quite honestly I don’t think we will return unless we have a huge amount of spare time.

We enjoyed a very good lunch with friendly and attentive service at the Chislehurst branch today. The portions are not overly generous but are adequate and tasty. The manager was very friendly and we enjoyed a very relaxed lunch. This was the exact opposite to the pretty poor meal we had at the Reigate branch a couple of months ago and much more like the standards of the London Bridge branch. We will definitely visit Chislehurst again.

Popped into Coates for dinner with my husband. I chose the mushroom bouguignon, not being a meat fan I asked to not have the vegan bacon, as I don’t like the texture, I’d rather just have the vegetables. The meal arrived, sadly the main mushrooms actually looked like braised steak and tasted I guess like meat, it was awful. However all was not lost, the Manager was brilliant, When the server asked if my meal was ok and I said no, he was there. Straight away he offered me a replacement meal, which was much nicer. My partner and I went to Cote fir dinner last night (Sunday). We hadn't been there for a while, and we'd never been there on a Sunday eve before, so perhaps our expectations were high. Our experience was 'ok' but the restaurant wasn't busy and the whole of the back area was closed, so there wasn't much of an atmosphere. We were greeted warmly and given a choice of tables to choose from. The service was good throughout the evening. However, we were a bit disappointed with some of the food, mainly our starters. We both had the crab. Unfortunately it was very 'watery', was over-powered by the favours of dill, lemon and capers, and totally without any taste of crab at all! At over £10 pp, it was very disappointing. Fortunately our mains (sea bream and pork belly) were delicious and strong in flavour. The portions were also a bit small, but maybe that's just a sign of the times. The red house wine was light and tasty. Overall, it was an 'ok' evening, but we won't be returning on a Sunday evening and possibly not on any other night for a while.

Absolutely awful service. I’ve always enjoyed this restaurant in Chislehurst. Great food, great service and reasonably priced. Until now… visiting on the 11 September to celebrate my daughter going to univercity. It was relatively quiet. Greeted at the door by an incompetent waitress. We’d booked a table weeks ago and was greeted with “we can put together a table of 6 as we don’t have one. I refused the put together table and then told “oh yes we have a table!’ We sat at the table and was not offered any drinks. Eventually drinks were offered. After waiting ages for drinks our order was taken. The waiting staff were unfriendly, slow and just awful. I really wish I’d refused to pay the service charge. Best thing about it was the food, everything else was disgraceful and they really need to sort this out asap, not what you’d expect from this chain.

What has happened to Cote, Chislehurst? It was always dependable for attentive, friendly staff and a great atmosphere. Yesterday, all but one of the staff (who noticed the cream was missing from my dessert) just looked like and were behaving that they didn’t want to be there. Menus were torn and dirty, the table water was on the warm side so I asked for some ice, starter plates were left for us to look at after we’d finished them, so I piled them at the end of the table. And despite me adding we were out for a birthday celebration to the booking, the normal cake treat didn’t appear. I could understand if it was busy, but it was two thirds empty. Luckily the food was delicious. Please do not let the standards of this restaurant slip!

Lovely food and good service, let down by Food splats up wall. A lot bigger than you think and can accommodate over 100. I would return.

We haven’t visited Cote for quite a long period as we had a bad experience in your Covent Garden branch and felt the value for money and quality had declined. However as long and loyal customers we thought it was time to experience Cote again as the menu looked far more exciting and traditional. We are sorry to say the food and service at this restaurant was awful. It’s seemed as though the staff were not at all trained in customer service and the manager Alan didn’t seem as sincere and caring about the matter when approached. My steak was very chewy a little like soft leather but it was replaced three times with a ribeye eventually which was still fatty and not very tasty by the time my meal arrived my partner had finished her meal so just sat there watching me eat my meal which wasn’t the best experience for us both. We are very saddened by this experience as we did use to be avid fans of Cote but this restaurant lacks care and attention to both the service and food. We feel this was such a waste of time but more importantly money no one really seemed it was that much of an issue especially the two female staff. We have experienced the Ukrainian restaurant next door recently and the service and food there was exceptional maybe this branch should look to them for ideas on service and food quality.

Food was ok. Had breakfast. Shame the breakfast deal is no longer available. This included a hot drink juice and choice of breakfast. Portion size was smaller than I’ve had in the past but all cooked well. Waiter was very morose and not welcoming at all. Did not smile once and just seemed like he didn’t want to be there. Maybe needs training in customer relations as a welcoming smile goes a long way.

Was looking forward to a special celebratory meal but I have to say it was nothing special. Chicken was chewy and dry, steaks minute and tuna had a bone in it. With one meal there was a delay in service. Wine was ok. Waitress was lovely, though.

To a casual visitor on a Saturday morning, this seemed to be a social hub. Coules, groups, familiies all enjoying a leisurely well-cooked breakfast in comfortable surroundings and waited upon by attentive and friendly staff. A deservedly successful formula.

Nice food, but disappointing service. We were a large party and had pre-ordered our food, but the service was slow and the waiter was very stressed. The restaurant was very full and extremely noisy. Cote has been consistently good over the years, but is becoming a little complacent.

I don't live in Kent, but visit occasionally from East Anglia to see my parents. They love this branch of Cote, and go often because they are treated so well. The managers know them now, and always give them their preferred table. Today we went in for lunch, and couldn't fault it. The food was fabulous - my mum had the pork loin, and as someone who doesn't eat pork it made me want to try it. I did, and I'll admit I'm missing out. My ravioli was so full of flavour, and my dad's steak perfectly cooked. Megan, the manager, went out of her way to make us feel welcome, even asking the waiting staff to be quieter with the plates and glasses as I have trouble with peripheral noise, and we were seated right in front of the bar. Little touches like that go a long way, and are much appreciated. Thank you, Megan

We eat at Cote at least once a month in many of their London locations and the food is great value for money and service excellent. At their Chislehurst branch yesterday the food was great as usual but the service had really slipped. It took over 2 hours get 3 courses which was a bit disappointing!!

The restaurant was busy for a Wednesday lunchtime but service was efficient and food came quickly enough. Lunch 3-course meal very nicely priced.

The food was excellent. Fish cooked to perfection. Not overcooked, just the way fish should be...right texture. Service was very good too. Andrianna..served us and was very pleasant and enthusiastic. Totally recommend this restaurant.

What a wonderful evening. I originally booked for 5 people but changed to 7 at the last min with no issues. We were all given a delicious cocktail ( free) when we were seated. The service was excellent, the food was delicious and the venue was lovely. I feel we were made to feel very relaxed and we enjoyed everything from start to finish. I would not hesitate to return. We had two set adult meals and two set children’s meals. Whilst the price was good and the food the portions were very small. There are plenty of other places that offer a similar or a better deal. However service was good and sea bream delicious.

Quite a big restaurant in a great location on Chislehurst High Street.

We returned for a meal here today with my elderly parents. Everyone enjoyed their food,and the service was very efficient, although our waitress didn't smile much, if at all. The steak was great along with the haddock in bread crumbs and mussels. We all had a desert and with a couple of beers the bill came to £91 including the optional service charge. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and will definitely return. ( One tip - the WC is up quite a few stairs).

We were so looking forward to breakfast at Cote, we come here all the time and we had a rare free Saturday morning. We booked in advance. We were kept waiting for 20 minutes whilst staff bustled around and in the end we walked out and went to the cafe next door. Several others did the same. You can't have only one person able to seat guests, especially if they are entirely absent. We probably will go back, because we love the place, this is why we are so disappointed with how we were treated today

What a lovely stylish restaurant Staff were attentive and polite. The roast chicken dish we had was excellent, tasty, fresh & full of flavour. The creamed spinach & potato dishes also superb. Desert - creme brûlée & tart tartan amazing! Really great pleasant restaurant

Great price for excellent French cuisine. Great menu, great execution on dishes, great wine list with lots of options by the glass. Service can be a bit pushed at busy times.

You want a perfectly made breakfast with great coffee and even better service pop down to Cotes. When the weather is nice the whole front of the shop opens up to let the light in and I could just sit there all day if I had the time. Thanks Cotes for starting my mornings of a weekend on the right foot.

It was a busy Sunday brunch. Presumably it is every Sunday? Waiting staff were friendly and doing the best they could but were overrun. We were waiting and struggling to grab attention several times. Surely more staff needed on peak times like this?

Great service and great food, well prepared and well presented. We dined with friends all choosing something different from the menu and everyone's meal was just perfect. Great atmosphere in the restaurant, you can also park outside if you are lucky.

Sunday morning coffee and croissant then Family Sunday lunch at 2 then back on Monday morning for my daughters birthday breakfast . No matter what the occasion the Cote delivers on every level I have been going to the Cote now for a year since I moved to the area. I cannot recommend it highly enough ...

I visited here with a colleague for lunch. They have a couple of set menus. We opted for the cheaper of the two and must say 3 courses for £13.50 considering the quality of food was amazing value. So good I revelled in the enjoyment of sending my wife some pictures . Also added for you to see. No made up publicity shots here, this is how it came up. Recommended. 2 people, 3 courses with table water and a bottle of merlot £47 including service, what more can I say.

Had lunch today at Cotes and as usual had a delicious meal. The set menu is excellent value with a good choice of dishes. Would recommend this restaurant for lunch or dinner.

Good choice of breakfast menu. I had the full English, the sausage was very tasty. Only draw back was the toast was cold; toast needs to served straight away so it arrives warm. Very good coffee too. Will be returning soon.
