Cote Brasserie - Wokingham in Wokingham

We came here on Easter Sunday and had amazing food and such wonderful service from Hennessy who was so kind and helpful to us. Really recommend this place, lovely team and the whole experience was wonderful .

Amazing food and service. Team work so hard led by Andrew who is a real gentleman and went out of his way to make my dining experience the best! Andrew was very friendly and made sure every customer's food was the best it can be in terms of temperature and presentation. Great customer interactions and you can tell he is well respected by the team he has. Great to see this! I really like this Cote and will always try and come here for my food. The Pork belly was cooked to perfection along with veg so they have great chefs here too. The restaurant is very clean and with a lovely ambience. Thanks Gary (Guy sat on the table of 4 in corner next to the bar doing his expenses) ;o)

When family visit us we often take them to Cote in Wokingham as it is convenient and the food is of good quality at a reasonable cost. As usual we had an enjoyable experience, made the more enjoyable by the great service we had from Justyna.

the coffee was awful and watered down far too expensive for the quality, the small blonde lady there was very rude and the cup was very dirty, poor atmosphere in the morning and has very loud music.

Another great trip to Cǒte Wokingham :) Louis, our waiter, gave stellar service from entry to exit. We were really impressed and enjoyed ourselves very much. Thanks Louis & Côte team!! Xx

Cote is formulaic , you know what you are going to get , it’s a slight nod to French food but not much more . They have not accepted cash for a number of years and this is something I object to more and more hence unless desperate I don’t think another visit is likely . Then you have the cost cutting , a 7 ounce steak, just give me the extra ounce it’s looks mean I’d rather pay 32 for 8 than 30 for 7, a bowl of mixed veg for a fiver which has not a lot of content . A cup of fries . An apple tart for two at 15 which is about the same size as it used to be for one . No 125ml wine on the menu , of course if you ask they have to , but it’s not there you have to ask , you get the idea ultra portion control . There was a promo of free Kir Royal with each a la carte main , but even those were added to the bill , what if I had not checked? Finally , like many now, they auto add the tip , I do virtually always tip but I like to decide .in fairness I have always found the staff helpful and responsive , but do they not pay them sufficiently? The food is ok , the cost per person £44 with one single glass of wine , not each , just one person had a single glass and a soda and lime except you can’t have soda (cos it’s cheap) you have to have a tiny bottle of ultra overpriced tonic . The problem I think is the latest owners are Partners group a private investment management company and it’s noticeable .

An excellent place to eat. Tables not close together. Staff very helpful and friendly. Good French food menu with nice wine. Restaurant very clean. General ambience warm and welcoming.

Food ok but nothing special - maitre d pretty unwelcoming and cold- probably trying to emulate the Parisian feel ! Gone downhill a bit over the years and with all the competition there is nearby they need to up their game

Not great food to be honest for the price but the staff were very friendly. Wouldn't rush back as nothing special and the drinks over priced and didn't have some very usual drinks like bacardi available

It was quickly apparent that the restaurant was suffering from a lack of organisation and a shortage of staff. We were seated on the worst table next to the door and our protests were unheard. After that, it was all downhill, it took ages for our drinks order to be taken and delivered ditto the food ordering and service. The food, when it arrived, was underwhelming with one steak out of two overcooked and all small potions. The highlight for us was a party of 8-10 people who got up and left because of the lack of service, which was most unexpected due to their age group. We won't be back for the next new year or probably ever.

Table booked several weeks ago for 7.30pm on New Tears Eve ….starters did not arrive till after 8.30 pm nor did olives or bread etc … main course arrived after 9.30pm steak stone cold sent back and re-served 9.45 pm and while steak now warm it was now tough and chips cold, sauce cold sent back but by this time gave up up as had other arrangements from 22..00!pm. Son had ordered same and had same issue…. Wife had ordered the duck which was good but inevitably overall New Years experience extremely disappointing…. Waiting staff accommodating and understanding to complaints but service from kitchen not acceptable. That said I suspect real issue issue too many bookings taken and kitchen not able to able to cope…..we had been last 2 New Years Eves and had very good food and service, sadly that was not our experience tonight!!!! In fairness senior staff understood my complaints and ultimately did not charge i’d have been far happier with good food, good experience and an enjoyable family night out that I paid for to see the New Year in. We were not alone in having to wait a long time for food and complaining We generally have very good experiences in Cote restaurants and will try again in the the New Year but doubt I will book again for New Year.

Restaurant located in centre of Wokingham, with limited street parking. Nice standard Cote french style decor. Not particularly welcoming restaurant Supervisor but when seated service from staff was friendly and very fast/efficient. Breakfast menu very good. Chilli Avocado on toast with poached eggs particularly good as was traditional English breakfast. Good spot in centre of Wokingham for a decent breakfast.

Our son and his wife came from Bristol to take us out to lunch last Saturday for my 85th birthday. We don't often go out now, so were very pleased with our 'outing'. Everything at COTE was fantastic. A Happy Birthday banner was displayed next to our table, as well as mini Happy Birthday's all over our table. We all chose fish dishes were were delicious as was our shared plates as starters. The young man who served our table was very amiable especially when he brought us celebratory drinks. Overall a very enjoyable experience and we shall recommend Cote Brasserie when we have the opportunity.

We had booked cinema tickets and wanted a quick bite to eat. We had not made any reservations, We spoke to a really nice manager we were in a hurry. He took our order and turned it around so quickly. Thankyou so much and was delicious

Great little surprise with Aunt (a regular in the restaurant) Calamari and Cheese soufflé to start. Followed by Sea Bream and Poulet & frits with garlic infused veg. Then Creps au Chocolat. The personnel were exceptional. Hello Serena :-)

What a lovely first experience here with friends. Good choice of food and drinks on the menu. All 4 of us thouroughly enjoyed our three courses. The service was faultless, all the staff were super friendly and professional. Good atmosphere throughout the evening. Definitely recommend.

I preface this with Cote being our favourite restaurant in Wokingham ever since it opened.However, we went to dinner on Friday last week and it was pretty poor. First thing was that the "managers" were dressed incredibly badly - and that is not something I usually notice. As with all Cote, the waiting staff have their smart aprons on which made the attire of the others even more stark.Then the food - their creme caramel was hubbies favourite dessert ANYWHERE, until they have changed it recently, making it centrally from what the staff told us - not the same at all. SO he thought "you can't go wrong with a chocolate mousse" - except early on a Friday evening, in a french brasseries, there was NO chocolate mousse!! The starters - we had a crab mayonnaise to share - it wasn't their usual one and was a 2 out of 10 at the most - pretty grim. The other was fresh and tasty - this was neitherThe mains - sea bass with crushed potato and salad - which was a game of "hunt the potato", perhaps a quarter of a small potato - abysmal.Air conditioning was on and we were in a draft on a coooool evening - we had to resort to putting our coats on, it took them such a long time to respond.Staff were rushed and too busy - not the usual at all.And for this awful experience - the prices have gone up significantly.Very unpleasant all round.It has gone from our favourite to "never again" in one visit. Come on Cote - get your act together - there is so much choice of restaurants, so we will look elsewhere

From the moment we arrived the service was impeccable. I always love Cote but this was my first visit to Wokingham and it didn’t disappoint! Carlos was so friendly, brought us blankets and made us laugh throughout the night. The best front of house person I think I’ve ever met! Definitely made us feel welcome.Food is always amazing at cote, fillet steak is beautiful and melts in your mouth. And great selection of cheeses. Will definitely be back. Arrived early but receptionist not clear about whether we can be seated. Seated, but waited an age for a drinks order. The word Bollinger seemed to confuse the waiter, but this was a special meal, so what the hell.Asked for Chablis, but took a while to arrive.Bill presented and the total cost was announced to the table. Not cool. I paid the ‘service charge’ but reluctantly. Really embarrassing evening. You need to do better than this at these prices.

I hoped for a "full English breakfast" with freshly cooked eggs "sunny side up" but those that arrived had been fried and flipped over, the yolks were hard. The sausage was dry and mealy. The whole breakfast gave the impression that it had stood for some time on the hot plate waiting for a customer.

Lovely meal and the staff were really good, friendly and efficient. We go here a lot, I just wish they would sort out the acoustics. Its always been a problem, it's hard to hear and affects the atmosphere. Fabric wall hangings or plants would help.

Visited with my wife and son. We had an excellent meal and the service although slow to start was excellent thereafter. My only complaints are (I) the restaurant was a bit cold, especially in the room near the entrance and (2) it was incredibly loud, it’s a large room, was quite full, and there are hard surfaces everywhere. I’d definitely go back, but not at a busy time.

Having been to Cote before with large groups and as a couple I expected the usual good food and service. Sadly this wasn’t what we received this time. The staff were efficient but not friendly, we had three servers in total. They did not check if our meal or we were ok at any point, even when collecting a full plate of food. The lamb cutlets were not cooked as I had requested and were so uncooked I couldn’t cut with a steak knife. The other meals were ok not amazing but edible. I didn’t complain at the time because my sons had taken me out for a Birthday treat and I didn’t want to upset them. I did e-mail the manager and they have replied addressing my concerns.

Such a shame as my 1st time there and the gas was out so nothing that id of eaten was available while it was not within thier control I can only rate it from my visit.Hopefully I will have the oppertunity to return and exsperiance thier full hospitality

We went to dinner for My Auntie's birthday on the 18th September and our Waitress Rosie made our experience so wonderful :) We come to Cote regularly as a family and love the food and service, but on this occasion Rosie was 5 star. She was Polite, Attentive and went the extra mile for us!!!

So great to be back at Cotes.. The food continues to be great. The menu has stayed the same but why change something that works?.Sadly the rhubarb martini was not available but we were given Kir Royale so yummy. The staff are as always attentive and lovely and so great to see them back having been furloughed. Our favourite place for a meal is back with very efficient Covid 19 compliance with regular use of hand gel by staffWe will be back and soon. Xx

Great to have the chance to visit Côte in Wokingham again, on their first day after re-opening! They've done a really good job of putting Covid precautions in place, without ruining the experience. Cooking of the steak, and seasoning of various dishes, was a bit off compared with pre-lockdown, but then it has been 6 months. But still good to see them back, and the staff were great.

I'm a fan of the branch in Reading. This was my first visit to the one in Wokingham, and it was just as good. Service was polite, chic, and attentive, one of the reasons I like Côte.I had scrambled eggs and poached salmon, which cost £9.25. They give you a generous amount of salmon, in thin, tasty slices. The scrambled eggs were only lukewarm, but they were otherwise excellent--a fast scramble, I'd guess, as there were bits of white in it. I do it that way at home. The eggs were sprinkled with green flecks of chive. Along with this came four half-slices of toasted, good-quality brown bread.I also had a tea, but that was disappointing. A Fairtrade Birchall English Breakfast Tea dangled on a string in the big pot. At home I'd be putting two bags in that much water, though, and no matter how much I stirred I failed to induce a proper brown colour in the liquid. Too weak for me then. Côte do a superb coffee, but, on this evidence, their tea game is less strong--literally.But no matter, the breakfast itself was fine; and that's the main thing.

Fantastic lunch and fantastic service! Highly recommend for consistently great food and brilliant Coeliac awareness! Superb attention from staff who noticed it was my daughters birthday, presenting her with a dessert and candle without being asked. Made for a lovely relaxed family birthday lunch. Thank you

We (my partner & my mother-in-law) visit Cote on an almost weekly basis.We do so because the experience is always a great one - the choice of food is wide and the quality and quantity the meals served is spot on.The staff are great too and the (newish) tablet ordering system they now use appears to have improved service further still.The restaurant is split into three main areas - with tables at the front and middle being used most. There's an additional area at the back which only appears to be used when it's really busy.The food is great and it's fairly priced, so what's not to like.Thoroughly recommended.

This place never fails to provide a lovely time. The food is always spot on and never disappoints. Steak was lovely and the apple tart was delicious. Great service .

Valentines Meal. Set menu with multiple choices. Very busy but once service got going it was very good. Food was excellent across all course including Chateaubriand cooked rare to perfection. Wine tasting menu to accompany starter and main. Very friendly service and everything done as requested. Very happy to pay 12.5% service charge.

after a day at the rugby we were feeling too tired to cook. We went cote about 6pm.warmly welcomed and the restuarant had diners dotted arround making for a good atmosphere. The food we chose from the weekend menu was well prepared and extremely tasty.

My wife and I visited our favourite Wokingham restaurant, Cote Brasserie, to celebrate our joint January birthdays. As always, we were totally impressed. From arriving and being welcomed like long lost friends, to leaving at the end of a wonderful meal it was a lovely evening. Very friendly and efficient staff, great menu choice and quality food, well prepared and served. You relax on entry and feel at home. I cannot compliment the staff enough. Wonderful visit.

Check Cote Brasserie out for Sunday breakfast! Getting more and more popular and you can see why . Great staff and good range of breakfasts. Perfect for Vegetarians and meat eaters alike. I had scrambled eggs and Salmon with chunky brown toast which was superb. Good place for a celebration with plenty of large tables and room. Probably one of the best places to eat breakfast in Wokingham

We picked Monday evening so was assured of a quiet restaurant. There was a great atmosphere and we sat by the bar area at the front which added to the experience.Food was hot, well seasoned and plentiful. We came to cotes Wokingham with friends for breakfast, my husband is coeliac, you offer a great choice of gluten free food, and we have eaten at cotes many times. My one criticism is why can’t you supply a gluten free sausage with the full English breakfast?? There are plenty of sausages on the market but it is surprising with a restaurant that prides itself on it gluten free menu that you do not offer a gluten feee sausage and it’s still the same price as a main menu one that includes a sausage, just something to maybe think about??!!!

With friends we made the terrible mistake of booking cote for Christmas Eve. This turned out to be the worst dining experiences of any of us ever, Firstly can you believe that they had actually completely run out of beer. I repeat this so called restaurant at 7pm on a Christmas Eve had completely run out of beer ...except of course for a minute bottled beer no more than 25 mls. at the extortionate price is £4.95 each. That alone is an absolute disgrace for which the restaurant manager should undoubtedly be fired. But to add insult to injury when Our meals eventually arrived two of the steaks were Luke warm only .....everybody’s fries were stone cold and a chicken dish was virtually uneatable !! So in summary the food was awful the service just adequate ...the prices extortionate...And for such a dreadful dining experience they automatically add 12 1/2% service charge on top of your bill.

Our food was nice and the staff were pleasant and friendly. Just a couple of things weren't so good. Firstly they could have made more of an effort inside - it was very bare, with not a hint of any Christmas decorations. Also didn't like the fact that a 12.5% service charge is added to the bill as standard. I know this is very common but any extra should be at the customers' discretion and not automatically included.

Really disappointed in Cote, Wokingham. I ate at the Windsor restaurant for lunch on Saturday 21/12 and the food and service was excellent!

The downsides were the slow service (nice, helpful waiter but everything took too long) and the gloomy environment. It was nowhere near full but we were stuck in a dark corner.

We have lived in Wokingham for just over a year and avoided this place because we tend to avoid chains. What a mistake! Fantastic service and lovely food. Cooked perfectly and great flavours. We will be back soon.

Have been going to Cote for breakfast for a long time now. The food doesn’t come out greasy and always tastes great. For £10.50 you will get a good breakfast, an orange or apple juice and a coffee of your choice. Can’t go wrong!
