Excellent service and very good food. Scenic location on river. A few minutes' walk from London Bridge station. Feels quite posh compared to some other Côtes. Spacious. Good venue for a celebration with friends. Upstairs very nice. Ask for a table from which you can see the river. We were given a complimentary glass of bubbly on arrival, as we'd mentioned on our online booking that this was a birthday celebration. Highly recommend

Every once in a while, the moon and stars align for a family celebration and this evening at Cote was certainly one of them. I had booked an outdoor table for 7 earlier in the week but the table initially allocated was in a busy, windy corner so my daughter arriving early persuaded staff to move us to Table 312. This was ideal. Close to the river, in a quiet corner and with the added bonus of a superb waitress with Gosia. We started with several bottles of Roubertas de Provence rose (£31.20) plus the odd beer and a Picpoul (£30.70). Wine buckets on stands filled with ice ensured the rose was always cold and we were regularly provided with extra ice for the table. All the starters varying from traditional French Onion soup (£7.95) to the wonderful flavour of the Cheese Souffle (£9.95) and on to my Crab Maison (£10.50) – delicious mix of fresh crab, avocado, cucumber, capers and shallots blended with mayonnaise and served with toasted sourdough was very good. Our main courses again varied but included the marvellously voluptuous Breton Fish Stew (£18.95) and the superb Poulet Breton (£17.75) - my corn-fed roasted half chicken with Café de Paris butter and sauteed new potatoes (which had been recommended by a contact at a meeting in the City just a few hours beforehand) was sensational. Real buttery, moist and tender chicken well presented. Meanwhile. The outstanding Gosia kept an eye on our wine consumption, need for different glasses, extra ice, water jugs and proceeded to serve us quickly and efficiently. What a star turn she is for this Cote Brasserie. As we enjoyed the great food, the sun went down and we had that rare opportunity to see a red Harvest Moon appear over the river towards the east.as the skies darkened. The backdrop of the City lights was a magnificent sight with the Walkie Talkie, HMS Belfast dominating and several ferries moving swiftly along the river to add bustle and excitement. This was the most wonderful family celebration that we could have imagined – mainly thanks to Cote at Hay’s Galleria. Total cost £398.37 with t%he service charge remaining at 10% when many other restaurants are 12.5%, 13.5 or even 15%. Well done.

Molto consigliato

Everything was great with our visit last night - we were a group of 4 old work mates catching up and we come here about once a quarter as its a convenient spot and reliably good. Staff were friendly and smiling and very relaxed when we said on several occasions last night that we weren't yet ready to order our food, as we were too busy chatting! They were prompt in taking our initial order and immediately offered the free drink deal available when purchasing a main course. As well as offering the raspberry mojito (which I had and thought was their best complementary drink yet!), the waitress advised that this could be upgraded to something else which two of our group opted for. When we finally got around to ordering, our food it came promptly. Food as always was tasty and nicely presented. I particularly enjoyed my crab starter, although it would have bee nice to have some butter on the toasted bread which came with it, but that's just me. My burger and fries were nicely cooked, not big but fine if you're having other courses. I then finished with a creme caramel. With a shared bottle of wine, 4 main courses, 3 of us having starters and 2 having 2 desserts and 2 having coffees, the 4 way split of the bill came to under £45pp. No complaints from any of our group. Too busy chatting to take any photos of the food! The ladies toilets upstairs were modern and clean. We will be back again before Christmas!

Back to the fabulous Cote on the river near London Bridge with five friends — two adults and three children. Hitesh, who last looked after me on Xmas Day, was a star and sorted out an outside table for us by the river. Negroni to start for me and prosecco, beer and fruit juice for the others. Two of the children ordered steak and a burger from the adult menu and wolfed them down. I had the burger, too. The white Muscadet was very drinkable. Great food, drinks and service. Thanks Hitesh. There’s a 10% optional service charge on the bill, which is shared among the staff

My second visit since it has had a facelift to look more up-market. I had the all-inclusive breakfast deal which looks like good value at around £15 as it includes drinks and fresh orange juice and your choice of cooked or cold breakfast The breakfast was not as good as it used to be. The fresh orange juice is not freshly squeezed on the premises anymore I discovered , but is delivered every 4-5 days in bottles, sadly this is nowhere near the same. The cafetiere of coffee was horrendously strong and had to be changed. The toast was dried bread with absolutely no colour. The other items on the" full French" were fine. I noticed that the lady manager was rushing to take drinks orders even before customers were seated and had looked at any menus. I have never seen this before in a professional establishment.

I'm not usually someone who leaves reviews however felt I needed to on this occasion as my boyfriend and I had such a nice time on Sunday. Each member of the team that looked after our table were warm and friendly, a particular mention to Barry who made us feel so welcome, thank you all!

Beautiful spot on the river, cote has always been a reliable place for a quick lunch in town. They offer a varied menu, and usually deliver great food. Yesterday I’m not sure what was going on in cote just by London Bridge, but all the staff seemed to be in an awful mood. No one was smiling, they just bunched together with long faces at the bar area. I spent majority of my time waving my arms in the air to get attention, and even on arrival the drinks took 15 minutes to come to our table. The food was reliable as always, but The service was so lack lustre that I felt compelled to speak to the manager to ensure that the service charge was not automatically applied to our bill. We even had to wait for her for about 10 minutes to come to our table table, and once I had complained, she said well it wasn’t my fault. I wasn’t here. furthermore, when I tried to pay the bill with cash, she told me that they didn’t accept cash. I stated that I hadn’t been told this fact and she said you should’ve been told on arrival and then just pulled the face. Not sure if I’m more disappointed with the service, or the reaction from the manager who really didn’t seem very bothered. That said she did remove some of the items from our Bill, including the service charge, which would’ve been a nice gesture had it been supported with a gracious apology, or even some acknowledgement that the staff , were on this occasion not up to scratch.

6-Sep-23 Cote London Bridge: Visited on a Wednesday evening for dinner. I've previously found this branch quite reliable but on this occasion service was very slow and a couple of elements of the dishes were not available so had to be substituted. To be fair, when we politely complained we were given a small glass of prosecco each and our dessert was complimentary. So they did the right thing in the circumstances.

Cote is my go-to resturant when in London as i can rely on it for gluten-free food. This was my first time to this particular Cote due to meeting a friend in the area. The service was excellent. I felt really well looked after, particularly as i had a bit of a wait for my friend to arrive. The service throughout was attentive and very good. The food was great too. The only thing i noticed was that there seemed to be fewer items on the GF breakfast menu than before - so it meant a reduced choice - but i still had a really good breakfast and enjoyed what i had (full veggie breakfast) - as did my friend. I guess the reduced menu is probably due to business-related issues in the chain as a whole given the tough market conditions they have to deal with now - and i am just grateful they are still going - as it's getting harder for me in London to eat out now re GF post pandemic etc. So i highly recommend this restaurant and will return when in the area.

Went here for my birthday and used the booking page that noted it was my birthday and there would be a free glass of cremant on arrival. Arrived on time and also advised the maitre de it was my birthday. Was seated downstairs where the only view is peoples legs going past the window despite there being an upstairs with a view of the river. Ordered and our food and drink arrived in good time. No mention of the free cremant. Food was delicious and reasonably priced. Paid and left. No one took much notice of us on arrival, during our visit or when we left. I have been in the past to the Cote at St Katherines Dock which I found much friendlier and also made my birthday visits special. No complaints in particular but this branch is very flat and although not rude not very friendly. I wont be going back here again and certainly would not go for my birthday again. I had a reservation to come back in a couple of weeks with a group of friends but have since cancelled.

Arrived at 5.30 for dinner before the theatre. Alot of the menu was not available. It would have been better to have been advised of this before we sat down and then we could gave chosen to go elsewhere. What we had was ok small portions and mediocre. The location is nice and the waitress good, however the manager just arrived extremely quickly when I asked for the bill. I did complain about the lack of items available and he could have offered a coffee or something for the inconvenience but just took the money and ran. Wouldn't return the cotes locally are better.

When we arrived the place was very quiet and there was a gathering of staff around the bar area. We were at the bottom of the stairs by the entrance for a while before the staff noticed us. They were all busy chatting amongst themselves and drinking hot drinks. We were eventually given a table. After waiting for a server or Manager to come and take our order, I had to draw the attention of a Manager to take our order. The food was good. I noticed one of the Servers passing hot drinks across the tables and handing the hot drinks to people. This worried me. Overall impression was very lax and inattentive service but reasonable food.

I booked a table online for myself, my cousin and our two small babies (1 month + 4 months old) adding a request for space for two prams outside. In the past I've found Cote to be family friendly so didn't expect this to be an issue. When I arrived at the restaurant I was told we couldn't sit outside by a very brusque maitre'd. I explained that I had requested this when I booked and she simply said "you can't book outside". This was frustrating as a walk in ahead of me with a pram had just been seated. I pointed out that we would be able to squeeze in (there was a large area with a bench with plastic flowers for Instagram photos that unsurprisingly noone was using) and eventually she relented. The worst thing was when she turned around a waiter said to her "another pram" and rolled his eyes and she muttered something under her breath I didn't catch. It must be said the waiter who served us was lovely but there's no way either of us will visit at Cote again, we felt so unwelcome. I received an email asking for feedback after the visit which I completed, but I never heard back so clearly management has no issue with this service. I'd also add the baby changing / accessible loo basically reaffirms a total disregard for parents with young children (and, worse, the disabled) - it's at the end of a narrow scruffy corridor near the kitchen that the staff themselves joke is "scary".

We're big Cote fans - excellent value for money and lovely people - but, for the first time, something went wrong on this visit. One dish wasn't up to standard - in fact the main element was inedible. BUT, the restaurant manager sorted it out immediately with great charm and good grace. A replacement dish appeared within minutes and was perfect. The restaurant was incredibly busy and of course things go wrong sometimes. The measure of Cote is that they put things right. We visited Côte yesterday for lunch to celebrate two birthdays - we are a mummy group with three babies around 7 months old, which a lot of restaurants tend to flap about with so many buggies, but Côte was well prepared for us and I received a lovely reassuring email in the morning from Nikki to say they was looking foward to our visit. This was really customer service at its best, because anyone travelling with a group of babies knows that it can be a little over whelming sometimes as the babies pick the mood, but knowing the restaurant was looking forward to our arrival was very sweet and reassuring. As mentioned we was celebrating birthdays and Nikki and the team made us feel so welcome on arrival and special and even having the team help carry the buggies down the few steps into the restaurant. The service was excellent from the staff, very attentive and it was so sweet that they came to check in on how the babies where doing, even handing them out spoons to chew on to keep them entertained whilst we was eating (or trying to eat shall we say) We ended up dining from a set menu that we didn’t even realise they had until we sat down - portions where all good and overall excellent value for money and also considering your dining over looking the Thames at London Bridge. We all had the upgraded steak, which was cooked to perfection ( order the mushroom sauce too, delish! ) and the cocktail list although limited and would like to see a few more on there, had some great choices. We was in the restaurant for around 2.5 hrs in total, the babies are at the age where they want to be trying everything too so it can be a little chaotic but the staff was so attentive and all seemed very genuine to make sure we had a lovely dining experience. A big thank you to Nikki who is an exceptional member of the team, and whom is a fab ambassador for the restaurant brand for what real service with a GENUINE smile is about. We shall definitely be back and recommend you! Thank you from all of us. Lindsay & Saffie :)

Nine of us gathered last night for our annual old friends and partners' meal. There were a few unable or unwilling to come into London due to the raised Covid alert. The quality of food is irrelevant to this review. Most of the staff were not wearing masks as they leaned over us to take orders and hear over the din of background noise. Individual staff were asked repeatedly to put on a mask to serve us but they simply got another staff member who did wear a mask to serve us. At bill-paying time our unmasked waiter was again leaning all over us. I hope this review prompts their management to take a stronger position on staff and masks. It doesn't hurt to be safe.

There was a vibrant buzzy atmosphere reminding us of ‘life as it was’. We had an excellent evening with excellent food and excellent service. We enjoyed the unusual vegetarian sharing platter before going on to the beetroot bourguignon and the confit duck. The vegan chocolate dessert was decorated with the best fresh raspberries I’ve tasted for a long time. The chocolate mousse was good although we did prefer the darker chocolate version that used to be on the menu. I appreciated the filter coffee served in a cafetiere. Our table was small and when a wine glass was knocked slightly some wine spilt on my husband’s jumper. This happened in a flash and we must emphasise that this was NOT the fault of our server (who quite spectacularly rescued the glass and the rest of the wine!!) but he insisted on taking the cost of our desserts and coffee off the bill – most impressive.

Our server Tatiana was just so lovely and when I chose a dish that was no longer available she offered her suggestions. Myself and my friend both had the fish parmentier which was basically fish pie but the best I’ve ever tasted! It had so much flavour, my only complaint was that it wasn’t big enough! We tried quite a few of the cocktails which were delicious with Tatiana making us her adaption of an espresso martini by making it a mocha espresso martini - it should be added to the menu! Tatiana then surprised us by bringing us a piece of chocolate tart as a congratulations, it was so lovely of her and a really lovely touch. We were celebrating a family birthday and location-wise, this restaurant hits the spot. Having been to other branches of Cotes, we had high hopes for the food, but I have to say it was underwhelming. Four of us had the warm beetroot starter, and all of us were disappointed - yes, there was a lot of beetroot, but where was the creme fraiche, goat's curd and horseradish dressing? There was a tiny dribble, but basically all we got was a lot of beetroot! I then had the mushroom cassoulet, which tasted of...nothing! No seasoning, no garlic and although there were mushrooms in it, no mushroom flavour came through, no truffle flavour came through...it was so bland! The petit pois side dish was supposed to have mint in it, but I couldn't taste any mint. Some of the portions were small - my husband had the beef cheek bourguignon and for £17.50 it was certainly not worth it. We didn't say anything in the restaurant, as we weren't paying for the meal and it seemed churlish to complain when someone else is paying the bill. I hope that this is just a one-off, as I have always enjoyed eating at Cotes, but their latest menu left me feeling underwhelmed and although the service was fine I did expect more from the food.

Juan in particular was great. Taking orders from different menus and all paying separately can be a nightmare with such a large group but this happened with no fuss at all. The food was great. Considering the place was packed the staff did an excellent job of making you feel like you were the only people there, food all arriving at the same time and hot. Will definitely return.

Visited Cote Hays Galleria and as in every Cote I cannot fault the staff, very polite and helpful, we got the ribeye steaks which were unbelievably good as well. The main reason I go to any Cote is for the amazing Crab Mayo they do. I was so disappointed they changed the recipe, it tastes like canned tuna, tasteless and at the same price the original crab mayo was. Don't understand why they would downgrade the best item on the menu

Well I was having Calamari and beet tartar not long time ago. It was excellent, not just food but the waitress as well. I belive that the good staff is equally important, sometimes even more, as good food and our waitress Tatjana, serbian lady, was joy to behold. We enjoyed our meal and her presence. Will come again and hopefully she will be serving me again. All the best!

Well what a lovely meal with fantastic service. We had requested a round table as there was 10 of us and we wanted to all be able to chat together. We were all couple and we were celebrating a birthday. When we first arrived we were told the upstairs wasn’t open so we couldn’t have that table. This was very disappointing as we had specifically reserved this.. BUT…. they straight away opened up the upstairs for us. I was concerned they would forget about us up there but nothing could be further from that and the service we received. The lovely Carmen was so attentive. The food all came quickly and all at the same time. Carmen kept our glasses topped up and we had the loveliest afternoon. First class as always. Well done once again. We will definitely return.

We booked a table for lunch on Sunday midday. Luckily the weather was good enough to sit outside on the terrace area. There’s a really nice view from here I loved it. On arrival a very kind host directed me to the reserved table. Before they handle you the menu the first question is about any allergies or intolerance you have. I found this a great touch it made me feel we’ll have a caring service. Our meals were adequate for the price. My gluten-free friend enjoyed his food choice too. Coffees were served quite quickly. Staff was very polite but not too smiley probably because the place was packed, busy. I will possibly return again.

We visited just over a week ago for our wedding anniversary. Whilst a very pleasant day we elected to eat inside as the temperature was clearly going to drop off. It nevertheless remained a very good spot to have dinner, overlooking the Thames to the old Bishopsgate Fish Market opposite. We had booked, and were quickly shown to 'our table' we had not requested a particular table but Ione, who turned out to be our server for the evening showed us to her preferred table. Not liking to be rushed, always wishing to progress an evening at our own pace we let Ione know this and she was absolutely great, always there, but never intrusive and with excellent inter-personal skills that created a friendly but professional customer relationship. The pre-drinks were delivered very promptly and allowed us to read the menu at our leisure. Not unexpectedly we both ordered the Devon Crab Maison, we have had it before and it never disappoints. For the mains, my wife had the Monkfish Piperade, truly excellent, and the portion of Crispy Confit Potato were a revelation. We have already read up how to make these, they were truly excellent. I ordered a Rib Eye steak, oh dear, whilst cooked as I had asked, rare, the steak knife had trouble cutting either end and when the white cartilaginous piece was revealed I gave up. My complaint was, acknowledged and very well and discreetly dealt with by both Ione and the Manager. Whilst offered another steak I was not prepared to risk the same or keep my wife waiting any longer as she was eating, I chose an alternative, the Magret de Canard (served pink), and it was, truly excellent! Fortunately my wife wanted some help with her Crispy Confit Potato! Having advised, during the booking that it was our anniversary a very kind complimentary chocolate mousse dessert was served to us. Whilst I do not normally eat desserts I have to admit it was very very good. We did indeed have a thoroughly enjoyable evening, great service, great location and save that disappointing steak, great food. Thank you all, we will be returning.

An outstanding lunch to celebrate a friend's 50th birthday. The Cote du Boeuf was a particular highlight, although I also thoroughly enjoyed the calamari appetizer. A wonderful selection of wines and cocktails, and don't get me started on the cheeseboard. We were served by Ligner who was super attentive, but discreet and didn't rush or crowd us. Four and a half hours later we finally left. A memorable meal. What they do, they do so well. Thanks Cote!

Visited for lunch on a windy grey day, but still worth sitting outside for the amazing view of the Thames and the HMS Belfast. Staff were so friendly and happy… obliged us when. We wanted to sit more under the umbrellas due to it starting to rain slightly. Staff were wearing masks and were regularly cleaning. Food was excellent, especially the chocolate fondant I had for desert. Highly recommended….. well done all waiting staff, you were happy and friendly and added to our visit.

We usually love Cote. We won’t be returning to this one. Most staff lacked basic customer service skills. The food was the usual Cote standard (no issues whatsoever). Staff should have been wearing masks. This would afford some reassurance to patrons that Cote are taking care of their COVID safety standards. All together, an underwhelming experience. We expected so much more (our Brighton Cote has exemplary service with the same quality of food)

Having never eaten at Cote before, we did for the first time on 26th Aug. I ordered a rare 6oz filet steak, but was served a medium rare rump steak,. We brought this to the attention of the staff, but the manager took over the situation and after a short wait I was served with the best filet steak I have ever had. We were both given a free glass of wine as compensation. It was a lovely evening and we will eating at Cote again!

We had a fabulous table outside over looking The Thames and although it was a cool evening we were made very comfortable by the patio heaters. The food was beautifully cooked and presented and the service provided by Peter, Niki, Andra and Carmen was absolutely first class. They attended to our every need. They were all so friendly and engaging and when they found out we were on a mini honeymoon they made us feel very special and gave us the perfect end to a perfect day in London. We could not have been better served anywhere

I have been to many cote branch's and this was the worst by far which was a shame. You have to wait a while before someone serves you and most of the staff look like they have got somewhere better to be. It spilt the overall experience, remember the service charge is optional and don't pay it if you feel like they do not deserve it!

This Cote was rightly popular at lunchtime on a hot sunny day. The north facing terrace with its views of the river and HMS Belfast was just a bit more crowded than ideal, but the food was excellent, as was the service. The prix fixe menu provided plenty of choice of interesting French dishes, and at a basic £21 for 3 courses it was excellent value.

Took us a while to get the attention of staff when we arrived as lots of work was going on. Once we we’re greeted we were told that hot food was off the breakfast menu due to a gas problem. That was fine for us as we only wanted a pastry & coffee. Pastries were Cote standard fare but good but the surroundings of the river were fantastic. Lovely spot for a cote!

We booked a table here to celebrate my daughter's 16th while in London for half term. We had such a memorable evening and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The staff were so friendly to us and our dog Poppy who came along for the evening. They allow dogs at the tables on the terrace which was grand as we could make the most of the riverside setting, sunny evening atmosphere and London skyline. The staff were amazing and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and the birthday girl super special. The food was so tasty and well presented. Great menu options so we all found something that delighted. Fabulous bottle of Sancerre too!Our waitress was Ionie and Nikkie was the manager on duty. We haven't been to Cote Brasserie for several years but would definitely recommend and next time we are in London will head back here. Can't recommend enough. Thanks so much to the whole team for such a wonderful evening.

Finally getting out to enjoy a meal along The Thames, we chose to dine in Cote Brasserie, having visited here before lockdown last year. Most of the hospitality team were new and they had only been open 2 weeks, yet we were waited on by attentive, lovely staff and service flowed with no issues. The tables are well laid out, in accordance with social distancing, and it felt so nice and safe to enjoy a lovely 3 course meal again.

I had booked Christmas eve lunch here for the legal six of us but then everything was forced to close. So we had the lunch in late May. The weather was better in December. The staff were very kind in making it possible for us to lunch indoors. That is now legal but several of my party were still worried about being indoors and the staff did their best to meet those concerns in terms of how and where they seated us. That apart we did have a very nice lunch.

We were so much looking forward to our night at Cote, as our first time out in so many months. We sat outside, as per tier 2 regulations, and the location next to the Thames was as fantastic as we expected. We have to say, that our waitress was friendly and efficient. Also that the wine and cocktails were lovely. However, the food was abysmal. We all had the Christmas menu, and had haddock as a main course. The fish read overcooked and dried out, and the accompanying vegetables were completely tasteless. One of the party could not finish the food. We were asked dying the meal by a more senior waitress how everything was; when we said that the food, actually, was awful, she brushed it off, said that she was sorry to hear that and did we need any more drinks. If we had not been with friends, we would have complained, but we did not want to spoil the evening. We will not be returning to Cote. It was as though they didn't need to try because they are a chain. So they didn't. It was a very expensive evening (£280 for 4 people), and the food was awful.

I got a vegan breakfast which consisted of 1 sausage, a piece of toast that was approx half a slice of toast, half a tomato, mushroom and few leave of spinach. I was absolutely starving after. My friend had a huge fry, the plate was jam packed with stuff, 2 rounds of toast on a side plate because there was no room on her huge plate for the toast plus a tea included and hers came to just 1 pound extra!

Gayna y Simon

Food was lovely but service was so disappointing I wouldn’t eat here again. We ordered a selection of plates that were whisked away as soon as they looked vaguely finished (they weren’t), we had only just ordered dessert (having asked three times for the menu- generally the waiters were very inattentive and it was hard to get service) when we were told the restaurant closing. We had only been there for about 1hr 15 minutes by this point and weren’t given our table until 8.35pm despite booking for 8.15pm (which was earlier time for evening sitting). We told the waiter we needed to have dessert but then were told three times (whilst eating it) we needed to go and were given the bill before we’d received dessert which I’ve never experienced before. As soon as we had paid I felt like we were just being hassled out, particularly by one large bald guy who resembled a bouncer. Despite spending over £100 on a couple of bottles of wine we had plastic pint glasses planted on our table and when I went to toilet I returned to the table to find my wine glass was gone and wine decanted into plastic. This totally spoilt the enjoyment of almost a full glass of a nice wine, which I ended up leaving. The final straw was the bouncer guy coming over and telling me us rudely they were closed and we “needed to leave”. It wasn’t even 10.30pm and still felt early - plus other customers were still there. We felt like we were pushed out and it completely soured the evening which was a birthday celebration - and felt a bitter end. Bora Bistro I had high expectations - and you failed miserably.
