Costa Coffee Uddingston in South Lanarkshire

£100 parking fine for the pleasure of spending my time and money in their coffee shop. Be warned. Small car park operated by unscrupulous Euro Car Parks. Won’t be back.

Stopped while passing. Friendly relaxed atmosphere

Too Cold it’s November the entrance door is wedged open these guys refuse to close the door. Fortunately there are other coffee shops in Uddingston and Bothwell. Crazy this must adversely affect their business

Always busy. Been to one, seen them all. Server on floor sweeping & cleaning tables.

The woman with the spiky hair ( who I think is the manager) does not have a clue how to make a coffee. I ordered an oat latte. The milk was just stuck under the steamer and left, full blast so that it was heated. It could have been any type of coffee, no froth or thickness to it and was just dumped in the cup, lukewarm. Completely lazy. The screeching noise coming from the steamer is quite an obvious clue to it not being used right - people were struggling to hold a conversation! Waste of money.

This visit was OK Service was average, could of been more personal and friendly but they were busy but not an excuse I always find this cafe atmosphere a little off with consistently dirty tables and outside area and bins hence why I always take away, needs attention to detail from outside in Overall still use for a takeaway coffee Also I would walm as the car park here isn't great very ill designed

Just been into Costa in Uddingston and what a lovely welcome we received. We’re Costaholics in our family and often visit different branches. This has got to be one of the friendliest. Whilst the furnishings may be a little more dated than some of the newer branches, the staff are warm and welcoming. Friendly and helpful and easy to chat to. Quick service too. Special shout out to Devlin our server and Karen the manager, two lovely ladies who made our day!!

I live locally, so I come here weekly. I am 38 weeks pregnant and walking helps bring on labour. Went to the shops, my mum wanted to stop for coffee and I was experiencing some contractions. So, went to Costa and my mum asked me to sit down while she went to the restroom. On her way back, I went to order some drinks as she doesn't speak English, on my way to the till I got stopped by the manager, Karen, who said:"next time you need to respect the system. You can't sit down and use the toilets without getting drinks first." | said: "I understand that, but my mum doesn't speak English and I was having contractions so had to sit down. I am gonna go and get coffees now". She rolled her eyes and replied saying that if I was having contractions, I should have not been out. Now - I do not need to justify myself to anyone, so I really don’t understand why the entitlement on her part to share her opinion on my condition. Contractions are not predictable and her lack of empathy and knowledge bloody shows how ignorant she is. Went to get ourselves drinks and complained to another staff member about her and this staff member said "Karen is like this”. Aye, she's is like this and somebody needs to tell her. I had another chat with Karen and Karen never apologised and kept saying that I should've been home and that I need to be aware of the system. 20 mins later, Karen asked a group of teenagers to leave their table so that her friends could sit down. They sat down, without ordering drinks. Said that to Karen and Karen had the cheek of saying that she put their order through for them. MASSIVE LACK OF EMPATHY AND PROBABLY THE WORST MANAGER I HAVE EVER MET.

Not the best costa I've been to. Latte wasn't great, tasteless compared to other Costas. Lovely big clean space with friendly staff, shame coffee is not good

It’s a Costa, what’s not to like. Plenty of car parking and I’m here at the supposed peak time and it is not too busy. I have experienced a friendlier welcome at Costa in other branches and the furniture looks rather tired. The shop is lacking atmosphere, but I think that is because it is one of the prefab square buildings thrown up as a potential retail outlet and then a coffee shop out inside. It lacks intimacy or a care for detail in how it is laid out. However, I am sure the chain knows exactly what it is doing and it will be laid out on a cookie cutter model that is known to work. Certainly can’t fault anything much. Nice coffee.

Zara Bulloch served me and was an amazing barista, so kind and put a smile on my face 10/10

Just want to thank staff for finding and keeping my new jacket when I left it in shop 4 days before. Very honest staff. Very grateful customer!

I’ve only been here a couple of times. The coffee is always great and the cakes etc are delicious. My complaint is the state of the furniture and lack of cleanliness. The upholstered chairs are down to the foam at the arms. The tables are not cleaned properly. The windowsill is needing cleaned with old coffee marks. The floor is dirty. The cutlery was not properly cleaned. There doesn’t seem to be enough staff as the girls behind the counter are so busy and probably struggle to clean up.

The usual nice tasting range of Costa hot and cold drinks are on offer, along with the usual range of cakes and pastries. A small selection of pre-packed gluten-free and other alternative snacks are on offer as well. It's a shame that they have changed their dairy alternative milks to a brand that isn't gluten-free, but that's a corporate decision. When I visited (late Saturday morning), the place was absolutely packed with a wait for a table and a long queue. Sadly, this had a knock-on effect on the service which was not the most friendly and which took ages even once the order was taken. This isn't what I've come to expect from a Costa, and I'm willing to assume this was a one-off, though it certainly coloured my first visit to this particular Costa.

It’s a minus 10 from me first and last online order SHOCKING Ordered an oat milk Latte no oat milk though still on the menu🤷‍♀️Had to settle for ordinary milk cheese and tomato toastie CREMATED couldn’t get my teeth through it went in the bin Caramel shortcake chocolate melted and gooey what a disaster first and last for me but delivery was quick🙄

Costa Coffee Uddingston, is a very welcoming branch. Light & airy inside & extremely clean! The Coffee is so tasty & the atmosphere is relaxing! Prices are reasonable with a fantastic choice of hot & cold drinks. Various snacks/small meals are available to suit everyone's needs....Open for sit-in or takeaway....Opening hours; Monday 7am-8pm Tuesday 7am-8pm Wednesday 7am-8pm Thursday 7am-8pm Friday Closed Saturday Open 24 Hours Sunday 8am-6pm.

Like most big chains....they're all the same and this Costa is pretty much the same as all the others. The Cheese and Roasted Tomato toasties was hot and tasty. The Latte was lukewarm. Expensive for what you get.

I like the Decaf coffee from Costa particularly their Iced Flat White!

Lovely and clean restaurant. Staff friendly. Variety of sandwiches, wraps and cakes available, as well as toasties etc from the counter.

Got the new golden caramel latte, not much different from the regular caramel latte. Tried the rocky road bar for the first time, sorry but won't be getting it again, very bitter chocolate not my taste. Staff as usual very friendly and helpful.

Its was 10am and although the service from the baristas was excellent, they all do an excellent job..the 3 stars is.due the overall cleanliness of the establishment, was very disappointing..just not acceptable to be honest..

Good drinks, and tasty snacks....BUT, it's been weeks since one of the front windows was broken by a car driver, and yet it has still not been repaired. Having a sheet of plywood over the window is pretty tacky...

I use this costa almost every day and it is by far the best one I go to! Service is quick and always with a smile and a good gab. Always super clean with well managed queues and social distancing measures. The team are just an awesome bunch of people and make me feel a bit chirpier (and more awake) when I need it most! It is always super busy so I would suggest using the app to pay before you go but you will be surprised at just how quick the line does go down. All in all brilliant service and great coffee (even the frappachinos taste better from here than any other one I've been to!)

We used to come to Costa Uddingston twice a week, for 3 years prior to lockdown. After lockdown we visited on 5 occasions, and stopped....as quite simply, the requirements under Scottish Govt rules....public health like cleaning tables.....track and trace were not being followed or encouraged by staff. Today, we returned, after 8 weeks....and public health is still not being followed. Customers sitting at tables that have not been cleared of crockery or sanitised. I asked for sanitise and a cloth....and was told it was their job to clean them!! There were 5 tables uncleared . Exactly!! A young guy, clearly grudgingly was sent to clean the tables. No mention was made to track and trace. What is going on at this Costa!! Public health is a priority. This is not a franchise....so will Costa Head Office sort this out please!!

I have been visiting Costa Uddingston for a long time now since opening along with my wife, sometimes 4 or 5 times per week. In general I really appreciate how the staff are very welcoming , patient and professional. Too many times now I gave been served by someone who is called Laura. She doesn't seem to follow the same standard as any of the other team members. She is impatient, unwelcoming with no smile or kindness in her voice, no chat at all and makes myself and my wife feel very uncomfortable. Six times today I noticed her just staring at me with her cold eyes. Strange character. If I order a sausage bap, she won't ask if I would like sauce but all other staff do,, she gives me my change and decides by herself if the change is £13.02 then decides i don't need the 2pence, none of the other staff will do this, she is correct i don't need the 2pence but it is not her decision and I definitely would not write this review or even mention it if I thought she was just having a bad day, but no she has a verybnegative energy and is very unpleasant. I would suggest possibly working with the public if you like people in general only, I'm sure this would help. We come here to spend 30 minutes together then go our separate ways to work, it would be so nice to enjoy this time.

Very spacious and felt very clean. Lots of people coming and going but still places to sit and all nicely distanced. Parking good too.

I visit Costa almost every morning after dropping kid to school.. i absolutely like my latte but unfortunately Not all the staff are professional, polite, or welcoming . In few occasions I have experienced while am being served, member of staff are either talking to colleagues or to other customer instead.. this is very UNPROFESSIONAL. few of them do not even acknowledge customer and sometimes no greeting . Very poor standard I still visit costa as I drive a long way in the morning and this is my only time to relax and plan my diary while having a hot drink

Unfortunately standards not good enough during Covid19. Tables were not cleaned and litter lying under tables outside. The staff are lovely but perhaps are too stretched. Starbucks Hamilton has lot more controls in place and a dedicated member of staff to direct customers and keep things safe.

Clean coffee shop with high level of precautions taken to maintain staff and public safety at this time. Comfortable seating with clean toilets, disabled parking and access.

young energetic spirits at best with certain individuals in this shop, the enthusiasm and personality of workers specifically scot and matthew is what is what a business needs and i feel this is the reason why so many people return without second thoughts...! satisfied

We dropped in to Costa while shopping. The cafe was really well organised for safety and we felt secure. The food was good and the coffee delicious.

A regular customer in this place known by all staff but must pick out scott and Matthew with their amazing service, humour, energy and most off good looks on that bar. They make this shop and that energy is needed in business in comparison to the 1/10 customers who may not approve due to a snobby attitude.

Visited today for coffee and muffin. Male staff had some very dubious practices in relation to food hygiene. Coughing over the coffee, wiping nose and eyes on hands and then handling cups with fingers inside the cup. Rather off putting. A wee refresher in food hygiene wouldn't go amiss.

I have been going to Costas Uddingston since it opened and really enjoy the coffee and atmosphere Mathew and Scott are great baristas. I have stopped going if Laura Is working as she has either not been trained on food handling or just ignores it. Handling money and then touching bread is not on.

Visited here today 14th January 2020 at 6.30 pm with my wife and daughter. The place needs a good clean, the tables need wiped, floor needs a good bursh and chairs are stained and worn and even our 4 year old daughter cleaned her seat before sitting down. The lady Barista was extremely rude. Environmental and health will be informed.

Very conveinient spot and staff are friendly. On occasion I could not find a seat but I usually take out so not a problem. The drinks are good and the price is good. I use my reuasable cup and they give you a discount for that which is a good incentive for saving the environment.

Always hope that certain members of staff make the coffee, otherwise it can be a hit n a miss. Otherwise very good cafe with friendly staff.

As a Costa lover I thought this would be a great local for work. Location is good, parking is good, staff and service however is not. There is a store manager that has been on shift a few times now when I've visited and her service is terribly poor. She doesn't pay attention when she asks for your order so has to ask for it again, doesn't apologise for keeping you waiting whilst she has a gab with her friends, and then speaks to you like a child when it comes time for you to pay. Queues are often very long and very slow.

Morning Cuppa is a good way to start the day an nothing better than going where the staff are friendly and very helpful and that is what you get in here even although they are alwsys busy due to their location. It is nice just to sit in and watch everyone else rush about just relaxing and chilling letting the world go by

Was greeted by a lovely young girl called Devlin who had an outstanding manor. She helped me pick a coffee and gave me all the options available. She helped me take my coffee over to my table. I was extremely happy with my experience and thank you Devlin for making my visit worth while.

Enjoyed a lovely relaxing evening on Thursday.Coffee and cake excellent too.There's lots of seating available and even some seats outside.I was able to get some shopping in M&S when I left!If you are in the area,would definitely recommend you pop in.

Staff young and pleasant BUT staff shortage so obvious with tables, floor filthy and many stacked with used dishes. Coffee good and newspapers aplenty. Seating ok but nothing compared to other coffee shops. Has limited outside seating where dogs welcomed with fresh water bowl outside too.

Visit costa bothwell regularly, have to say Scott and Matthew stand out and make that shop. Always smiling, brighten up my day.

Bit understaffed and maybe overworked. Tables dirty and left to be cleared by customers. Floors are often with crumbs or mess and could be cleared along with tables, no?

Great food excellent coffee great service

Normally go for breakfast on a Saturday, selection is okay...enjoyable but definitely room for improvement. Service is always very slow and I don't think we've ever been in and all the tables have been clean and tidy. Needs more attention to detail, napkin tray empty, having to ask for things that should already have been provided...this is happening on all visits, not just one visit.

Met up with my friend for a catch up at Costa and ordered a cappuccino which was lovely. The staff were very friendly.

Was a really hot day when we visited , what we had chosen was the iced fruit drinks but they had ran out of the flavours which was disappointing, had a different drink instead the caramel latte, was lovely!! The staff cannot be nicer, go out there way to help. Great addition to uddingston, need more in local areas

Walked in yesterday roasting hot day , been here a few times and the staff are very pleasant except for one the lady that is I take it to be the manager. Oh my god was it such a hassle decided to get a coffee cooler instead of my normal coffee as such a nice day. I think she thought I asked her for the lottery numbers what's wrong with her did you not get a bike when she was little , look a get it every one has a bad day but seems as if every day is hers . She's rude unpleasant no chat what do ever all the other staff are very pleasant and can cope with stress no bother if it wasn't for them and the coffee wouldn't wouldn't be back .

Used this Costa a lot. The staff are friendly. It's always clean and the atmosphere is great. Small OPS americano and toasted tea cake. Minted. It's big and it's popular.

Dropped into Costa Uddingston this morning . My colleague took advantage of the special offer on Bacon roll - Aha it was false I paid far more than they advertised throughout the cafe . Pointed this out was told it ended a month a go . Though as the board shows it is not the case .Easy money for Costa wonder how much these practices generate .Of Course Costa have know complaints procedure and as stores advised do not give refunds fantastic they must make a fortune

Since when was it ok to bring a a Dominos pizza and chips into Costa's? I asked why two girls were permitted to bring in their takeaways from next door. The reply, "Others did it earlier and they usually buy a drink."!

Not enough staff. Tables remain uncleared with customers adding to the clutter by moving used cutlery to adjacent tables which already have dirty cutlery on them. Service very slow, had to wait 20 minutes for a coffee a few months ago. Tried again yesterday afternoon but gave up and left after 10 minutes as the queue hadn't moved. Something very wrong in the way this place is run. The Hamilton branch is at least as busy but waiting times are much less.

Stopped of for a coffee to kill time and enjoyed a piece of cake at the same time. The coffee and cake were tasty and standard Costa fare at their prices. The service was pleasant and friendly as you would expect.

This coffee shop does what it says on the tin. Nothing more or less. My only criticism is that there never seems to be enough staff. Tables remain uncleared and because of the fancy coffee fashion it takes far too long to serve customers and queues are too long.

Stopped here on the way to Glasgow Central Station expecting to get served quicker here than a busy major station - didn't turn out that way. The usual range of coffees and cakes with not much seating but some good window seats where you can watch the world go by. Very much patronised by the local office staff and no parking unless you are really lucky and able to pay the charges.
