Place was clean and tidy. Food was served quickly and was really nice. Fish bit greasy and could have more peas. Staff very pleasant.

just been for lunch with mum and wee girl it was nice and quiet which was lovely!, service was quick and served with a smile food as always was amazing! absolutely love coming here between the atmosphere and the incredible service, staff and food of course! our servers were Ewan and Robyn and they couldnt have been more lovely 😊

Was in on Tuesday night with my family and a lovely meal. The team all lovely..so attentive…especially Mark who was so friendly and made sure all our needs were met. Great family atmosphere and also they have sports on all of there telly…happy days!! Thanks guys…we will be back.

Came in last night with my family and was seated right away, warm atmosphere and was taken care of by Mark. Drinks were nice, food was lovely, could’ve been a bit warmer but we all enjoyed it! Highlight was definetly the service from the staff, will definetly be back!

Had great service today and usually it's pretty good in general. Food is your classic pub grub and for decent meal prices too. Kid friendly and play area outside for warmer weather. The Male and Female bathroom has a baby changer which is nice to see!

Enjoyed a lovely lunch and few Prosecco's served by the lovely Louise. Great food, service and atmosphere. Not visited in a while but will definitely be back.

Poor food previously, a few years back, heard they had a new manager and it had improved, sadly not. Chicken skewers weren't tasteless and watery, veg was clearly frozen stuff, corn cobs luke warm, water in the butter. Salmon a bit undercooked. Staff pleasant enough but place needs a good clean and decorated. Won't be back.

So we moved into the area a while ago and have visited the Oystetcatcher frequently as the do very good daily deals throughout the week. In general the standard of food is pretty good but on my last 2 visits i ordered the all day breakfast and the bacon on both occasions was black? They hadnt been overcooked but looked like they had been fried in dirty oil? Certainly not what you would expect in this venue. I also ordered an extra sausage, as their square slice tastes pretty good, and assumed it would be another square slice, but turned out it was a link sausage, and wasnt the same quality, and for the extra money seemed a bit of a rip off. If any staff read these reviews, may i suggest you grill your bacon, rather than fry it! Its healthier too.

Arrived here for breakfast. Upon arriving I could see the place was very clean and tidy. Went to the bar and was served by a friendly manager called Heather. Ordered the super special breakfast a coke and a latte. Glass was clean. The fruit was fresh. Good size portions for breakfast overall service was amazing. Toilets very clean and fresh. Would highly recommend and will definitely return

Food nice staff friendly prices good

Booked a table for 7pm a week before Xmas. Arrived and taken to table, so far so good. We ordered drinks and starters which took nearly half an hour to arrive. We took out time as we’d checked website and food was being served till 9pm. Placed our order for mains at 8.01pm. Used their app so payment taken immediately. About 5 mins later a server came up to us, probably about 18 yrs of age. Told us kitchen closed at 8pm (this is a Friday), told us they’d refunded our card the practically ran from the table! A shocking way to treat customers and to use a junior member of staff to relay the news. We were never told there kitchen was closing early, not when we arrived or when we received our starter’s. We haven’t been back and never will be.

Cheap and cheerful. Our server Louise was lovely, friendly and attentive. Food was nice but the bun was too small for the sausage although it was tasty.

Our server Louise was friendly, kind, helpful and extremely patient with our mad bunch of kids for our Christmas Dinner after the last day of school!! Fantastic service, brilliant meal and great place to take the kids

Staff are really lovely and set the mood for your occasion in every way they can!

A group of 8 of us booked in for breakfast. First time trying breakkie there. 10.30am and it was quiet. Table reserved and lead straight to it. Placed as requested on booking. We were served by Louise and Mark who couldn't do enough to make our visit the best possible experience. 8 breakfasts and no complaints says a lot! Good quality food, well prepared and served warm on hot plates. I wasn't sure what to expect. I'm looking forward to our return.

Poor food poor service ok for a pint and game of pool

We have been coming here for over a year now and it has always been a hit or a miss but the last few weeks there has been a noticeable difference in the quality of food and service. Mark has good attention to detail and very polite when interacting with customers.

Visited recently with family and the place was looking lovely and festive with all the decorations. Food from the new festive menu was fab

Slowly getting better with new management and it's handy, but still shocking lack of staff which means slow service a lot of the time. Also empty apart from weekend peak times, with little or no atmosphere. Needs an urgent change of independent owner to breathe life into this potential goldmine.

Popped in for some Sunday dinner, Food was great 👍👍 will be back next Sunday

Too many chip dishes and not enough rice

With a three year old and a newborn this is ideal for space for a pram etc as it's a big restaurant, the kids meals are fine they are your average meal a child would like. Can't really go wrong with chicken nuggets and chips, it is very child friendly with toy machines and a little playground outside too. There are some good deals with the main menu too. It is what it is, cheap and cheerful. Staff are friendly.

I've been taking my Mum for 6-8 weeks now on and off, and we've always had great food that's excellent value for money. I particularly recommend the Fish and Chips if you're looking for something from the classic menu. It's a nice layout in the Oystercatcher; good size and lots of room. You certainly won't feel hemmed in or claustrophobic. The indoor Conservatory area is particularly nice when the weather is pleasant, although to be fair I'd probably have been better mentioning that point on one of my earlier visits. The atmosphere is laid back and pleasant, with all the staff being friendly and welcoming. Although we've been going for a couple of months, I did feel on my first visit (and subsequently) that everyone involved in our hospitality has treated us like they've known us as friends for years, which is lovely. Nothing but positive comments to be written for everyone's service on our visits, but a particularly big Thank You to Katelyn in recent weeks, as she's been particularly attentive to our needs and provided us with 1st class Customer Service. Thank You Katelyn, you're a 🌟 The only downside I would mention is that there's currently a 12-8 kitchen opening hours limitation, due to a kitchen staff shortage which seems to be affecting lots of hospitality venues at present. It's a pity as the breakfast menu was particularly good when it was previously available for those of us who like a decent fry up (as a treat once in a while - honest)!

Visited during a Monday afternoon so it was fairly quiet. Service was friendly and efficient and the food was lovely - I opted for the Home Run burger and it was cooked to perfection.

We booked to dine at the Oystercatcher in Lindsayfield. When we arrived, there was a notice up to say that they were short staffed. However, I have to say that we recieved an outstanding service by Kai and Eilidh! They went above and beyond their duties, despite being really busy, short staffed and under pressure! They should be rewarded for their customer service. The wait for food due to a limited kitchen staff was half an hour, or more. My husband is diabetic and almost had a hypo. However, Kai and Eilidh ensured that we recieved our starters very quickly and avoided him having a diabetic hypo. What a team! I would recommend that you visit the Oystercatcher, especially if Kai and Eilidh are working 🙂

The food was very tasty and a very wide variety, staff are amazing, very up beat and respectful. The atmosphere is nice and relaxing although there are not many people during the day. I would highly recommend this place if you are hungry and want some good food and drinks. 👍🏻

Went into an almost empty restaurant, but tables were overflowing with dirty dishes, went to bar to order and waited ages for member if staff to appear, we ordered starters they'd no soup left and no haggis fritters, it was only 3.00 as well. Poor, poor show

Always enjoy this place but tonight left me a bit traumatized when I asked for a Guinness 0.0 and the lassie flat poured the entire can into a pint glass ... Like it was still water .... my jaw hit the floor.... think someone may want to show the bar staff how to pour drinks .... especially Guinness... Just because it has no alcohol does not mean it should be manhandled... Horrified. Tasted horrific.... Looked horrific.... wasterd my drink! Food good.... place super busy so there was a wait but it was tasty. Regular at Hungry horse... 1st bad experience.

I have visited them twice and have two different gastronomical experiences. The first time, everything was sizzling and super tasty, and the second time, the roast was served without veg, hard, and cold. The crew is nice and the place is fine but it is all about the food.

Absolutely shocking service, shocking food and all in absolutely shocking

Would give it no star if I could. I had an issue at beginning of July, emailed twice, not heard anything back. I phoned today and was told my complaint wasn’t recieved, I then explained my situation and was met with rudeness and further issues. There was laughing and mocking and the tone of voice was not acceptable and how I was spoke to by a MANAGER was ridiculous. Never again!

Sorry I don't agree with dogs in the eating area. Don't know if dogs have been sitting at my table before me

It's a decent pub, sells decent grub and service is decent. Won't ever win any awards, but it does what you expect so it's still a win. Far far worse places to eat that's for sure

Was in on 25th June for a lunch ordered a small plate roast and a small steak and ale pie. Waited over 30 minutes for it and the food was OK but I was really disappointed as the mash potatoes were really tasteless and the steak pie was really sparse of any meat whatsoever think It will be better maybe for breakfast

Very poor, hour for food, tables dirty, service poor, food cold, won't be back and certainly won't recommend

It is our local and we always attend as a family with two children 10 and under. The Mains are always filling, reasonably priced and its not hard to find a bargain like we did (BOGOF on burgers ) We ordered from the app and you dont need to leave your table There is a wonderful out side area with kids play park and ample parking Lots of drinks and deserts, always. Family favourite when we go here full marks

Have visited here a few times for food which has always been good, however on Tuesday 20th when my friend and I tried to order from the big plate specials menu there was hardly anything on offer, no chicken skewers though there was roast chicken?? No steak, salad, jacket potatoes or even coleslaw as apparently they were awaiting deliveries. Eventually managed to choose salmon fillets which were nice and we had a good catch up lunch, but third choice of food and poor service, felt really sorry for young girl serving on her own and quite a few people left because if menu available!!!

Horrible experience. Staff attitude wasnt pleasant. Didnt have a welcoming feeling. Breakfast took 30mins to arrive. No waffles, no bananas, toast burnt. Had to ask for mushrooms that should of been on plate. Had to ask for a highchair even though i requested one when booking it. Place was still dirty from night before, cleaner in hoovering whilst food being served. Breakfast itself felt like it wasnt cooked properly. Could hear dance music coming from the kitchen. Overall experience poor for fathers day0

Been of a few occasions. It’s good for a drink at night but not for food. Food is usually just headed up from packaging e.g macaroni side. Food has came out cold and we sent it back but it just got reheated. Only recommended at night for a few drinks.

My husband and I where last here 27th April 2023. Went for shopping in Morrisons and decided to pop in for lunch. We where informed food that the mix menu offered was not on offer. So we had drinks. We had planned to return later - only to be told that due to shortages - food was not going to be served. We returned the next day as we had more shopping to do. I called prior to make sure that food could be ordered. Arrived 30 minutes later only to be told that food again could not be ordered yesterday evening at 8.10pm. So we decided to have drinks then go to Carrigans. Within 5 minutes of sitting down, a large scale violent fight broke out amongst customers. My husband and I had to leave as did other couples and families as the whole situation was out of control. Will not be back. Given that it's supposed to be for families and in a nice area, the whole experience in our opinion was the worst we have ever experienced and will not return.

Ordered the 10.99 for two menu, peas were stone cold, haddock was nice but small, chips were frozen chips so not much to go wrong second dish Balmoral chicken menu said two chicken breast but only one served sliced in half and mashed potatoes dry and not edible. update: customer service contacted me and offered a voucher to compensate, returned to see if it had improved but sadly it was very much the same, a long wait for cold food and similar to first experience, menu states chicken breasts (plural) and sadly again one cut in half and a small one at that ! fish was definitely a lot smaller than all the other plates that were being served around us. Sadly no improvement!!

Just had Sunday lunch....waited 25 minutes for 2 roast dinners, very poor, chicken tough, lumpy mash, overcooked 3 tiny roast potatoes, stuffing inedible, bland veg, don't know if under pressure but food usually much better standard than this. Kids had fries and burgers.

Realy nice food but the portion size is not great at all for the price you have to pay.I do expect more for my money and the portions need to be alot better.

Horrible food. Eaten here a few times as a friend likes it and it’s her local. Tried a few different dishes and always been disappointed, but last night’s balmoral chicken was the worst. Slimy chicken, yellow cement like mash and a stuck together lump of bacon. Not nice.

Been a few times and has always been great. Had a great lunch at Oystercatcher. Tasty food with good portion sizes, good Beer, good kids Menu and play area. The Ladies who were serving were very friendly and the service was great. I don’t know their names but thank you to the Lady with Red Hair and the Lady with the Guinness Tshirt.

Food was cold had to wait for them to re do by the time it came everyone else had finished. Plates or table not cleared when dessert came won't be back disappointed

Just had a nice meal at the oystercatcher. Smothered sizzle steak very tasty, my husband did think his meal was lacking the cheese that was described on the menu but overall everything was tasty. Service at the bar from Rebecca was excellent and friendly

Was in today Tuesday 29th with my wife. Staff were very nice and cuteous at all times, and very well presented. We had breakfast which was really different to a normal scottish breakfast , and couldn't fault the food, service ,prices and generally the whole establishment, very tidy and with a nice feel to it. I'll definitely be back again. Thank you to the staff and management

One of the worst places to eat. I came here with my family when it opened and we were shocked. The tables are ALWAYS sticky, food is horrible, toilets are very unsanitary and the staff were poorly trained. I can’t believe this. I’m a kid and even I understand what bad food tastes like. Don’t recommend.

This place has potential to be great, however the food is not great, and the waiting in the food line for a drink is frustrating. Staff are often lacking experience. Great location and with some tweeks this place could be great.

Terrible service. Was there with family last night. (A second chance, since the last time when it took two hours to serve our food, was put down to a "one off", that was a mistake). Restaurant was not busy, but that did not prevent two "starters" being forgotten about, when they eventually arrived after everyone else had finished, they came on one plate despite being two separate orders. When main courses arrived, plates were indeed "roasting" but the food on all the plates was cold! Think that they need a new Chef/Microwave Operator, but we will not know, because we will not be back.
