Was turned off wetherspoons for a long time but decided to give this one a second chance.

Cheap and cheerful, good deals on food

Very nice food,.good staff, free WiFi signing in required to use it fully.

You could try something Scottish.

This is a really decent pub. Typical of the Wetherspoons chain, aside from being in a shopping centre.

My wife and I always seem to end up in this Wetherspoon every time we go to Glasgow shopping. We both like to walk up the staircase to the loft where its a gr8 place to have a meal and look over the busy working days of Glasgow people going about there business. The food we got was just a good as normal. We both had two small fish and chips one garden and mushy peas which was gr8. The service was up to the normal standard which was gr8.

Atmosphere in the haystook can be a bit hit and miss, it just depends when you go. Value for money wise in this financial climate it deserves 5 stars plus but I just don't want to get peoples hopes up before they go. So I've kept the stars all 4. Food and drink are good for the price and the service is very efficient. We used the app and went to the bar, and no complaints from us. I do believe in tipping so sometimes that makes a difference. Hope you enjoy.

I'll give it a 5* as I had no complain. It is a very busy place though. Don't expect to find a table or be served in a hurry.

The breakfast was ok. Better Wetherspoons elsewhere. Staff were really nice.

Update A Year on (now worth 3 stars) We are now a year on from the last review, Nipped in for a pint and ended up ordering lunch for my dad and I. Much improved. This is local to us so we will review it again. Staff were great and the pizza was very good.. Dinning area much cleaner. Can't believe I'm sitting waiting for food, if the kitchen is in the same state as the dinning area I will be off work with food poisoning. This place is manky and needs a good deep clean. It's not just today's muck, sticky tables and food all over the floor.

Up from London and found this place brilliant well priced and friendly food was great

Prices are excellent, decent service. Haven't eaten in here but kitchens busy and plates are usually empty. By all accounts talking to fellow customers the food is ok. Good pub grub is the usual description.

A generally good option for some pub foods and drinks is a wetherspoons so pretty much as expected. Staff nice enough and first time I've been to a wetherspoons where the toilets were upstairs , there is a disabled / baby changer toilet on the ground floor too though.

Really enjoyed the food and quick service

Came here to catch up with a few friends on the afternoon of the 28th December only to be aggressively approached by who I presume was the shift manager whilst we were having our first drinks. His attitude was absolutely vile and was literally spitting at us whilst telling us to shut up as we were too noisy and claimed that the staff couldn't hear orders that were being placed at the bar. We are not a bunch of daft wee boys we were a small group of adults in our 40's and 50's and were all shocked by this staff members approach, if he had said is there any chance you could keep it down a bit as we are struggling to hear at the bar then I'm sure we would have obliged. However after being spoken to like that we decided to leave before even finishing our drinks and take our custom elsewhere. This member of staff has cost the bar quite a bit business as we were intending to spend a few hours here. I hope that witherspoons management read this review and reprimand this vile person or atleast send him on a how to communicate with the public course. The only reason I am giving this review 1 star is because I am unable to leave zero.

Fantastic breakfast. 2 breakfasts and two coffees for under £10. The staff were fantastic as well.

Worlds worst, ordered a steak and chips, it came depressing on the plate, they cant cook a steak, when i got my order it was still moving, it was that bad i had to go and ask to cancel the order felt so sick. Will never be back. There was no sorry etc just blanked so yeah so disapointed

Great range, prices and services that you would expect from spoons. As with them all though, just lacking atmosphere as no background music, and you have to wade through a sea of tables to reach the bar. Toilets upstairs. Great central location though and cheap as chips. Pizza and a pint is a great deal.

Called in here on my way back to my hotel. Absolutely no bother walking around the town, even at night. It was the first time I'd used the app as I was dining alone. It worked brilliantly, and my order arrived in the due time. The way/speed the food is moved through the kitchen makes it slightly underwhelming, but cooked well and totally on-form for the price. Go again..? That was my 3rd visit !

Lots of uncleared tables ..Food was of poor quality and Luke warm . Staff serving tables but ignoring tables waiting to be cleared . Disabled toilet not pleasant . Overall unpleasant experience - wouldnt go back - shame because if properly run could be a vibrant and reasonably priced venue . Go back to hygiene levels as during the pandemic - much better !🥹

Food is ok......tea / coffee is good BUT, tables are dirty / not clearing glasses / plates etc, prices are ok.

Spoons 153, a short walk from the car park into the shopping centre all undercover, great for a mid shop stop 2nd spoons this week located in a shopping centre Never had anything to eat had a nice drink of coffee, chatty staff, great fresh feel to the pub, very modern feel Toilets upstairs

My experience varies depending on where you go could be a bunch of lads and lassies getting pre drinks screaming the place down or could a nice relaxed restaurant and have a quiet meal

This is our local and we enjoy coming here. Only slight thing was that it was slightly too cold but that's probably because we've had so much lovely weather it felt much colder today.

This is the third time we have been here for breakfast. The food is fab and very reasonable and there is something for everyone on the menu. Certainly great value for your money.

This pub needs a total overall inside the place was dirty tables not cleard nor cleaned the carpet was a disgusting and needs replacing the only thing that I would give pass marks were the staff who were very friendly and helpful.

Good for cheap food and drink and quiet catch up, gets loud and full of kids at weekend, app works well for table service

Really disappointed! I ordered a traditional breakfast with a side of mushroom's. The hash browns, beans and bacon were tepid. I asked the serving staff if I good get it heated. The food came back with two fresh hot hash browns and now overdone bacon. Basically it came back with colder beans, sausage and mushrooms. Why it wasn't all done again or the whole plate checked, is beyond me. Definitely won't be having breakfast again in there, which is a shame as the produce is good.

Had not been in a "spoons" for a very long time and was reluctant to go this time, well all I can say is that this was a lovely place to eat the food was delicious excellent value for money and a good selection of drinks. Spotlessly clean too!!

Had a meal with my husband ordered the large grill box they gave me the small one but when I told them they were so lovely about it the customer service was spot on so appolojectic quick to fix the issue no bother and was never at any point made to feel like I was a neusance "when some places do" as they were busy . Well done guys good job and I loved the grill box was amazing

Sent my burger back had clearly been in a hot hold poor show if you can’t fresh cook burgers your chefs shouldn’t even work In McDonald’s

I ordered through the app. Meal with drink but the drink option was only showing frys or rice no matter how many times I tried. Ended up changing my dish to get it to work. Tables where dirty on arrival. Cutlery was also dirty. Fish n chips was OK but not worth the money.

You always know what you are getting at Spoons! Food is good, drinks are reasonable and it's a very handy app. To be honest this isn't the best Wetherspoons I've been to. Not a great atmosphere but it does the job.

terrible attitude from server. microwaved haggis, full place stinks. knock it down and start again.

No gluten free options, but have vegan options... Vegan is a choice, gluten intolerance isnt.

After being at the Odeon, my daughter, son in law and I had a meal here! I loved using the app, though I would still prefer to have the human contact of selecting then giving the order! Food was good, toilets clean and atmosphere great! Thank you.

Had lunch with my son , his fish and chips were excellent, my steak however, absolutely not seasoned before being cooked , the cook on it I requested was spot on but it had no taste and was incredibly bland , pity because I've never had a bad meal in weatherspoons until today, I will be back though because my sons love a weatherspoons.

Local, reasonably priced but food could be better

A big thanks to Luke and his staff for looking after our group of 32 last night 18th May 23. Service was pleasant and good for such a large group. Food was just fine and beers went down a treat with such a large selection. Well worth a five star review from our walking football group.

I was very pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food and excellent service.

Ordered haddock and chips with mushy peas and when the plate arrived the fish was the size of a fish finger , hardly any mushy peas, not many chips that were overcooked, I wanted my money back but was told that's the way the fish was cooked and they would get me another one , I have to say when the other fish arrived on my plate it wasn't that much bigger, I know Whetherspoons can be hit or miss when it comes to food but their prices have increased and to give the customer portions this size is a joke . Disappointed!

What a joke of a place, ordered 8oz steak, probably got 5oz and 3oz of fat, burnt grizzle... Came with just chips, no salad etc.. (you have to pay extra for that) chips and macaroni OK but charged extra for 2 bowls of chips which are supposed to come with it, went to bar and got money returned to card😁... Diet coke flat and watered down... Best thing was my pint of cider

Place is well kept and fine selection of beers. If you can hold your nose regards their Brexit supporting owner, a good pub.

Staff were pleasant enough... food was absolutely dreadful ,reheated chicken pieces terrible, complained to the duty manager who acknowledged my complaint and ignored it completely. !!!!!!

Very enjoyable the food was tasty and the a big plate, bar staff hurryed me along a little but I'll just put that down too it being so busy.

Breakfast was cold could not eat it. The place was empty no staff 😕

Breakfast is a reasonable price and very tasty. After you have purchased your tea or coffee you can go and get a refill. You can do this all day if you wish.

Food is quit quick staff are really nice the best weatherspoons iv been to toilets up and down stairs easy to get to aswell

Went here today for lunch. It was the busiest I have ever seen it with every table taken and there are many tables. We ordered our food and it arrived very quickly and everything we had was delicious. The service was perfect even though the staff were rushed off their feet between serving everyone and clearing all the tables for the next set of customers. We look forward to going back again soon for lunch.

An ok restaurant if you are in a hurry. Big portions and prices are ok. Can be VERY noisy.

Bud light had a problem with the gas, beer was damn near lifeless. Unusual. Service was good as usual.

Great value but yet to have a hot meal and coffee, cappuccino and lattie machine needs the temperature turned up and food always arrives warm not hot,you can actually drink the coffee in one go without burning your mouth
