I meet two friends every Thursday to have coffee here. The coffee is superb, lovely friendly staff, especially Lilly who can even remember our names and which coffee we have! We love the atmosphere and superb service here.

Very helpful and polite staff nothing seems to be to much, definitely be going back.

Excellent bookshop, with a great range of books and very helpful assistants. The cafe was a bit disappointing: the coffee was served in paper cups instead of china; the decaff was a bit stale, as we're the pastries we chose. It's a shame, as that used to be our favourite place for coffee in Cheltenham.

I finished my first book today. I might start reading another one at some point 👉 in the future. I'm not a great lover of books. My favourite is one whose title I forget. I use it under a leg to balance a wonky table at home. If ever I needed one 📖, or two(ish) 📒 books, I'd probably end up at Waterstones.

I would like to say what a fantastic shop you have in Cheltenham and a fantastic team you have working there. Not being regular shoppers in Cheltenham, Mum and I ventured in mainly for clothes shopping but also wanted to pop into a book shop. When we saw your sign we were delight and there is a coffee shop too, perfect as we were starting to lag. Wow the size of you store is incredible, 3 entrances all open and welcoming. Coming inside we are greeted by a well light beautifully laid out store suddenly overwhelmed by where to go. Mum went to the till to ask where to find books on Glucose, where she found Bea (I hope I've spelled that correctly). Who seemed delighted to serve us come with me she smiled and look us upstairs'. She pointed to the book we were after Jessie Inchauspe Glucose revolution saying have we heard about the Glucose Goddess yes that what we were after. Bea then told us she has another book out that you can find over there with the cook books. Bea left us to browse carrying on with her work but remained on the floor being accessible. Mum then asked Bea for more assistance as we were also looking for Jessie's cook book and couldn't find it . She came over scanned the book shelve then unable to find it said she would check the system and be right back. On here return she apologised and said they had currently sold out but could order it very quickly if we wished. Sadly not living close we said not to worry. Mum pointed out that we were getting both books but one was damaged was there anything to be done on the price. Bea looked at both books pointed out the the Damaged book was priced at £16.99 and the other at £18.99 she said that she would honour the lower price for both books and give 25% off the damaged one. Brilliant! Bea offered to take us to the till but we explained we were going to grab coffee first, Bea said if she wasn't about to mention her name at the till and explain what she had told us. The coffee shop is a delight a lovely lady behind the till reminded mum about here Waterstones card, nice slice of blueberry frangipani only negative was lack of savoury food 1 kids ham sandwich and 1 gluten free cheese and something as visit was at 1pm ish on a Friday afternoon. Cracking cup of tea though and I'm fussy! On going to the till mum where served by a lovely younger lady again very friendly, Mum explained what was discussed with Bea and was all put through. On scanning mums card she was told she had a £10 voucher and would she like to use that as well. Sadly we didn't get the young lady's name but her till number is 833493. Out of every shop we visited yesterday, your team's attitude and service was the best by quite a margin and really made our day. Despite not living close we would definitely return to your store again."

Great book shop overer 3 floors of this lovely old building with a great value coffee shop on the first floor serving great value coffee and sandwiches etc

Heavenly! Despite the large size of the store, I felt I was amongst friends... certainly experts. I could easily spend a whole day here: browsing, drinking coffee, reading, a spot of lunch with a friend, and more browsing. And buying a few books of course. What a treat. I interacted with three staff who were all super helpful. The nature section was a real tonic. I can't wait to revisit. Such a beautiful building too.

Always a good selection of books with personal reviews. The children's section is welcoming, well layout. Staffs are passionate, kind, and helpful every single time.

We love coming here, browsing books and picking something new. The staff are knowledgeable and if asked, will share recommendations if in search of something new. The loyalty card system works brilliantly for us as coffee lovers. Buy books & coffee and collect stamps doing so.

I come here regularly for my Creative Writing group. The food is fairly expensive, although it is delicious. The staff have always been very accommodating of our group!

Welcoming, great stock, knowledgeable staff and good selection of slightly left field board games too. Only gripe is, as a three storey building, locating what you're after is a little trickier, but having friendly staff helps on this front!

The food at the café was really good, and I liked that I could try a book whilst waiting for the food to be ready. There are a lot of books available, and it is easy to find what you want.

Best bookstore around here. Went to quite a few in the area but this one by-far had the largest range of books, spanning across 3 seperate floors. The atmosphere is wonderful and the café was extremely inviting to have a cup of coffee and read a new book. Only issue I personally had was how inconsistent the history section was on the top floor, other bookstores in the area had history split up by continent but they only had European and "General" which encompassed Asian, African, and Americas; most of which were in an odd order and made certain books harder to find.

One of the cosiest Waterstones I have been to. Located in a very nice building. Pretty staircase down the middle of the store. Plenty of book selection (obviously). Great variety of gifts, games, stationary and bits & bobs. Cafe W has a balcony overlooking the Promenade. The chocolate and banana cake was so good, as were the hot drinks. Scone was a little bit dry and crumbly (maybe because it was late in the afternoon?).

Waterstones is a great shop. They have a wide range of books for all ages and they have a good selection of novel gifts and cards as well. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Definitely worth visiting

Clean, great hot coffee, and a slice of cake of the week. Worked from one of the tables in the booth with power towards the back. Atmosphere was busy low level noise, good for conversations and not distracting from work or reading as many were doing.

Yesterday I visited this fantastic library with my family. Fabulous offer of books, a charming space and a very pleasant and peaceful bar. It was a surprise to find a Portuguese girl called Filipa working there, very friendly and who took care of us very well. Congratulations

Fantastic straightforward purchase, very helpful staff member who was very professional polite and very helpful, all done with a smile and a little laughter. Excellent! All done in beautiful Cheltenham a better shopping experience!

It's easy to get around with disability, be it with crutches or wheelchair. It's spacious with lifts and has a coffee shop on 1st floor to look through books before you buy.

Just my favourite book shop not only books but games and other things

This is a superb bookshop. Considering the size of the town, we are very lucky. Everyone should support it and try to avoid the easy Amazon option.

Waterstones I think is one of the best book shops I have been to. They have a huge range of books for all ages covering a huge area of topics. I went in about a week ago with my brother to get them a book for school because they love to read and we found some great titles for them to read such as fantastic beasts and they also had some Harry Potter merchandise which will make great Christmas presents for family members. The staff were very helpful on the till and I will be coming back to buy more in the future. Thanks Waterstones for a great experience.

Had book I was looking for. Had tried another competitor but they did not have it. I had a book token as a gift which they accept, many places dont. If you read this dont give a National book token, so limited where to spend, cant spend online.

Geweldig mooie en grote boekhandel in het centrum van Cheltenham. Ook het horecagedeelte is goed verzorgd en er is ook een terras aanwezig. Personeel is erg vriendelijk.

I love this store ! So much choice without the feeling of lacking space. A perfect compromise ! And a great new comfortable cafe as well.

A good size Waterstones on multiple levels, most people will find what they want here, or discover something new. Always a fun shop to browse. There are toilets and a cafe too.

Lots of books, and friendly staff. Café looks good, but didn't try it. Only loses a star because signage is poor inside, and could so with a refurb as it's looking a little tired in places.
