Best coffee shop in town, most of old team from original high street store moved here last year. Staff are always polite and extremely welcoming, it's a great atmosphere to be for all kinds of different people who either live in the town or are visiting.

When in Cheltenham, if I'm not going to an independent coffee house or cafe, then Caffè Nero at the back of Cavendish House in Regent Street entrance is my go-to coffee shop in the town. There's seating inside and out, adjoining the pavement, though outside it's not particularly spacious. Service is always good, reliable and friendly enough. Like many places now it's not too rushed or packed and makes for a relaxing coffee break. But as with most coffee shops now it isn't cheap, with pananis or sandwiches not short of a fiver; resulting in two drinks and a sandwich or two is easily £15.

The staff are really friendly which is why I go back, the choice of savoury food however is a bit small, could do with more options! I’m also giving it 4 stars because sometimes the staff chat casually too much and it slows the service down. Not great when I’m on only a half an hour lunch break.

It's a lovely coffee shop. The staff are warm and friendly. The coffee is always hot and delicious.

We often use Caffè Nero, bu have some serious concerns.There is a female that blatantly walks in there without a mask!!!She constantly walks around chatting to the staff at the counter, still with NO mask on.So all her spittle is left over the counter!!!!It's not good enough in these worrying time's and should not be allowed.I do not understand why she is not being confronted, you would think she owned the place. She always goes there early morning, if it happens again I will be confronting her.It's not a situation where she has a health issue etc as there's certainly nothing wrong with her breathing. We hear all about how hard she work's etc you cannot avoid hearing it as she wonders around!!!! I would have spoken to the staff, but she's always in there for along time and I wanted to try and avoid a confrontation.

Had a brilliant afternoon, sheltering from the heat in Cheltenham. Staff were friendly and happy for us to sit and drink. We were not rushed or made to feel uncomfortable. Really enjoyed our coffee and chat.

My daughter and I visited your cafe nero on Weds 12th of August at about 11.30ish. Can I just say the young lady who served us was so polite and very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and is a credit to your company. Unfortunately I didnt get her name.

Arrived at noon. No savoury food at all, only cakes, biscuits and crisps. Left an hour later. Still no delivery! Considering the limited range they offer these days that is very unimpressive service. No criticism of the staff who work there

Used the cafe when waiting for a show at the theatre. Nice, clean pleasant staff. Possibly the only problem was finding the front door! (You appear to be going into a departmental store next door). I would use again.

I do love nero coffee shops, but this ones service is absolutely horrible. Your staff is extremely inpolite and dont connect with they customers whatsoever. Very very disappointed do not recommend

Se merecen una palmada en la espalda de sus jefes. Todos son geniales, pero conozco algunos nombres, Jess, Charlie son dos que vienen a la mente, que se sacan los calcetines, la velocidad es simplemente alucinante, al igual que el café. Lo mismo se aplica al resto del personal, lo siento, no tengo sus nombres que mencionar, el gerente es particularmente agradable.Decaff capuccino es mi costumbre y siempre es de primera clase, al igual que sus pasteles, especialmente el pastel de chocolate.

I often have a coffee and something to eat in Nero in Cavendish House, I drink decaff as I am allergic to caffeine, and their coffee is very good for a chain, they use a good quality ingredient and are not stingy with the coffee as many other chains are, so you get a good flavour.The staff work extremely hard, yet are always friendly and up for a joke. I have got to know them and I don't know all of them by name but Charlie, Jess, Max and the manager with the beard all deserve a special mention and a pat on the back from their employers in my opinion.

Nice location off the busy streets, comfy seating, bookshelves with books!, friendly staff. Great place to work or meet or just sip lovely coffee. My go-to spot in Cheltenham.

Nothing unusual about this Cafe Nero. It looks like many of the others with a mixture of comfy chairs and tables and chairs. What keeps me going back to Cafe Nero is the coffee - I think it is so much better than Starbucks or Costa. Service was good and friendly and the drinks were up to usual standard. There was the usual selection of snacks but I didn't indulge.

The staff are always friendly and smiley and service is fast; plus the seats are super soft. Also there are plenty of solo tables so I don't feel bad taking a table for half an hour on my lunch break. Probably one of the nicer coffee shops in Cheltenham.

Nero is decent for a coffee shop chain. I always prefer an independent but this Nero is never too busy, and has really good staff. I don't really like the ambience, furniture is a bit dated and sometimes dirty. I wouldn't choose this place if I was meeting someone. However, a very good flat white and lovely pastries.

Me encanta este Cafe Nero. Grande latte es increíble mientras obtienes un buen barista y le gusta el café bastante fuerte. Cómodos asientos si puedes conseguir las sillas de cuero suave. El personal es servicial y eficiente. Los croissants son cocinados en el lugar y sabe bien.

Dropped in for a cappuccino and a small breakfast, and was pleasantly surprised how chilled the atmosphere can be in a Neros - good music, plenty of space, quick friendly service and good coffee, what more do you need to start a Sunday.

Regulary meet my sister for a coffee. We both feel Cafe Nero has the best coffee, here or abroad. At Cav House there are pleasant surrounding and very helpful staff. Comfy settees and pleasant atmosphere. Very popular ar 11am

Just a quick stop on a shopping tour. Usual flat white, Lipton lemon tea, hot water and a milk with some chocolate.All very good and staff very helpful.Will be back.

They had 3 staff behind the counter, so that service was pretty quick. Helpful and smily staff. Enjoyed our food.Although my friend had scone with jam/clotted cream which was a bit solid (normally solid on top and gooey underneath), so we think it had been there for a while, so that was a bit disappointing as you could not spread it on the scone very easily (more like cut and dab).

Excellent coffee, come here 2-3 times a week either to sit in and have a coffee or takeaway. Service is always excellent, staff are always friendly and helpful.

Usual efficient Nero cafe, good coffee and at standards pprices compared to other coffee houses. As another reviewer says, it's kind of behind the Promenade, not on the Promenade !

A great location as part of Cav House in central Cheltenham. It isn't actually on The Promenade, but on Regent Street, just off The Prom and reached via Ormond Place. That said, it's a good meeting place and the coffee is fine.

We stopped for a quick coffee to feed our son whilst shopping. I had a Hot chocolate with whipped cream and marshmallows which was delicious it had real chocolate sprinkles on too. My husband had a black forest latte. Both were delicious the only issue we had, was that although it was a warm December day, the Air Con was on pumping cold air into the cafe. We had to move tables. The staff were kind enough to stamp my loyalty card on the way out that I had forgotten to show when we paid.

I know it's the trend to go to these sort of coffee shops but not for us. We had never been to a Nero before but were a bit worn down with walking round town and after passing a Costa which we don't like, though we'd give it go here. Oh I so wish we went past because although the girls were polite and the service and cleanliness was ok, the coffee was so bitter. We both had a latte and it tasted as though there was 2 or 3 spoons of strong bitter coffee in it. I never take sugar but had to use it but it was still bitter. Maybe it's the way they do their coffee but we won't be going into any of their shops again.

The thing I like most about Cafe Nero, is that ALL of their coffee is organic, including the decaff. I usually treat myself to a Bronte Biscuit, either ginger, shrotbread or chocolate cookie. These are an excellent accompaniment to the coffee.The service is always very good and so is the coffee. I have to admit I am a coffee snob and I love Cafe Nero, they meet my expectations every time.

We recently visited this cafe in the afternoon. A good start we got two comfy soft chairs at the window, the rest was average.We chose an iced drink which was quite refreshing but the pesto chicken was totally lacking in quantity and quality.It was sad that there was a limited gluten free choice, yes there was a wheat free cake and a gluten free brownie but not what we expected. Yes, it seems to have good coffee but for tea drinkers like us, the whole experience leaves a lot to be desired. There are much better cafes in Cheltenham than this one.

Lovely coffee and almond croissant. Was helped to my table by the kind young man with muscles as I am not steady on my feet. Which is a nice change in most high street coffee chain stores. Better coffee too!

I have tried most of the coffee shops in Cheltenham and this is always my go-to place if I want a really, really good (skinny) latte. Other places may do better cakes or 'speciality' coffees (usually served in very small cups) or even toast (I like coffee & toast first thing in the morning, but sadly can't get that here). However, if I'm after a decent sized, really delicious, smooth, hot Latte then this is where I head for. It has comfy seats, a paper to read and nice big windows which makes it nice and light and airy. My hands down favourite for a good coffee and a pain-au-raison.

Granted, it was a busy Saturday, but there were a lot of tables with dirty crocks on, and the couches looked a bit worse for wear.That being said, they make a great espresso (even warming the little cups) and the food is good too.One comment though - why oh why put the baked goods on display (i.e. muffins), if you don't allow your customers to pick them themselves? Or better still, put a sign up that says "please let us assist you rather than helping yourself" (or similar).My husband was made to feel like a naughty schoolboy when he picked his own and wanted to pay for it.
