Incredible customer service! Brilliant atmosphere. Out of every café or Costa I’ve been to, it is the Costa on Oxford’s Queen St. which never fails to exceed my expectations, in terms of friendly staff. Every staff member who has served me here has been exceptional and I know that this upbeat emotion is something which isn’t easy to express on a daily basis. You don’t get this sort of experience everywhere, or as often. Specifically Id like to mention RAHUL and NICOLE. I hope their hard work and dedication will be noticed and rewarded. I have not used the toilets here before , but the reviews don’t seem great - I am hoping that things have improved after their recent refurbishment. Difficult and/or rude customers are dealt with kindness and professionalism. The presentation of drinks can be improved, as nobody wants to see a dirty cup, or see spillages before they’ve even taken their drink from the collection counter. Other than that, will come again.

Ordered 2 frappe and got slushy(cooler). I was too busy to notice immediately, and in was in a rush so had no time to sort out. But left with bad feelings. Otherwise nice place but I don't think will use it again.

The place has had a refurbishment recently, so I'm giving the management a new chance to impress me. You don't have to serve the erm and Asian clientele. Stick to what were good at; serving the European and ethnic white clientele.

Good coffee and friendly, efficient staff, but service was super slow. The decor felt outdated, and the bathrooms were a disaster—urinals overflowing with water all over the floor. Really surprised a place this big has such poor hygiene standards.

Nearly £4 for a medium hot chocolate seems outrageous. If I was at a hipster coffee shop and it had organic charcoal or something else funky in it fair enough, but for a cold blooded massive chain?! Staff were super friendly and it's nice enough inside though.

Big and airy with a nice upstairs space. Carries great range including the excellent vegan cheesecake. Superb friendly service.

Visited two to three years before. Food, Drink, Services everything was perfect. My personal fav was Iced americano and Chiken Salad Wrap. COSTA COFFEE is now available in Japan but all of them are awfully translated, since I left UK, I have been craving to visit this shop again so so badly.

Staff were lovely, we were served quickly, nice drinks and food, all hot. What really let's it down is the cleanliness of the place, every empty table has dirty cups and plates (which can build up quickly in between staff clearing them, this is quite normal). However, the toilets are some of the most vile toilets I've ever been in, the smell of stale urine hits you as you walk in the door, you can see everything is filthy/grimy, the sinks are filthy and the taps don't work properly, the single hand drier is so awful I could dry my hands quicker by blowing on them. This means everyone who uses these toilets arent able to wash and dry their hands properly and are then touching the door handles to get out. There were also lots flies/fruit flies everywhere, in the cake displays at the counter and also upstairs where several fruitflies kept flying around us, one landing in my partners drink. If it was properly cleaned it would be an alright place.

The drinks and toastie was freezing cold

The coffee, food and service was as good as expected BUT please could someone arrange for the area at the front of the first floor to be cleaned? Full of cobwebs and accumulated insect grot, some of which could fall onto food on the ground floor. It was like this in December, so not cleaned for ages, if at all. Sitting in the otherwise very comfortable upstairs area, this is not a nice view. Not to mention the hole in the ceiling....

The most disgusting toilets ever I can’t believe such a big outfit has such low standards

My wife - a Costa loyalty card holder - and I called in at lunchtime Sunday 10th December for a couple of toasties and two drinks. We were served quite promptly, and no complaints about the food, but looking for a clean table to sit at, we noticed that dirty cups/plates were on almost every unoccupied table - same upstairs, where the gents toilet was also very far from pristine. All this, yet there were SIX staff on duty; the two men seemed to be serving the customers, whilst the four women seemed to spend most of their time stood chatting behind the counter, oblivious to the detritus building up around the place. (This follows a recent holiday in Lanzarote where just ONE waitress looked after just as many tables as in Costa, but cleared used cups/plates promptly even whilst guests were still sat there, plus changing tablecloths between guests!) I suggest that Costa management put a rocket up the backsides of the staff at Queen Street - Costa never seem quick at clearing tables, but this branch was our worst ever!

Service was shocking. The drinks were cold. We ordered a Terry's chocolate orange HOT chocolate and it tasted like water. They used oat milk instead of normal. Imagine if someone has a nut allergy! Will not be visiting this Costa again. Not angry just very disappointed.

Shocking! We waited 10 mins for our drinks to be made, staff were arguing amongst themselves. Then we got our drinks, which were lukewarm and had oat milk cream on top! What a joke!

At first it sad 09:10, the 09:20. Then it didnt update for nearly 20mins. When the food arrived it was not very warm at all.

Not all Costa have good coffee, but in this one it is really delicious!

Was served by a lovely barista just now I didn't get her name but she made me a Terry's chocolate orange hot chocolate and it was delicious

Disinterested staff and filthy toilets.

Good service nice staff who open doors for those less able to themselves. They also offer to bring drinks upstairs if needed. The spiral staircase is really not a good idea here, when carrying lots of hot drinks on a heavy tray..and having to concentrate on your footing and traffic in opposite direction. Very dicey! Nice coffee though quite annoyed you have to earn a free drink with ten rather than eight hot drinks. Toilet downstairs when working are awful. Nice atmosphere especially for studying and writing which I do.

My wife went to the toilets and they were disgusting Also rubbish was laying on the floor of the cafe area, members of staff would walk by and ignore the mess Costa charge more for their coffee than the average cafe, so expections are higher. We have been to much cleaner Costas

Regular, yet nice, coffee shop.

We ordered 2 coffees (a large cappuccino and flat white) and decided to sit upstairs. It was such a big mistake. Extremely and horribly dirty walls. There was a LOT of dust on them and on the lamps. There were web cobes between lamps. The floor looked as if someone vomited on it. Greasy table :( I have no idea how they can sell food and drinks in those conditions. 🤮 For that reason the coffee couldn’t taste well…

One of the grubbiest and unclean Costas I have been in. Very busy morning, service was quick. However everywhere in the seated areas was not clean , tables and chairs covered in crumbs and seats were grubby. The glass surrounding the stairs up to the first floor was visibly grimy. The men’s toilets upstairs absolutely reeked of old urine, so much so that one could barely breathe. No idea when and how often they are checked and cleaned.

Very Nice service and good coffee.

The food was cold on delivery and there was a bit of a wait for it to be delivered. The driver seemed friendly though and the iced drink was fine.

Walked in at 5.20pm to have a cold drink on a 27 degree day. Told they weren't doing ice coffees or frappes because the machine had already been cleaned! They weren't closing until 6pm... 40 mins later! The chairs were already on the tables and when we asked if we could sit down the guy sweeping up glared at us. Not being funny but if you don't close until 6pm you don't start packing up that early and you serve the 15 customers in your queue. Terrible service and terrible attitude and staff.

Was relatively quiet when I visited (9:30am on a Saturday). Quick service making my coffee, and there's more seating than you would expect.

Poor customer service, let a lady use the upstairs toilet but then on following stopped another person going up as the toilets were closed. I would say friend of staff.

This is regular latte, wow, compering to the same coffee in Polish Costa Coffee it is much bigger and it ia hot. In Wroclaw Costa you can drink latte, but itis warm not hot.

Es la franquicia de cafés má baratos y popular en Oxford. Tiene diferentes tipos de bebidas calientes, pero no tanta comida. Solo tiene porciones de torta, muffin y medialunas. El servicio fue muy agradable. Ojo con pedir café mediano porque es enorme y algunos son empalagosos. Todo perfecto el ambiente está muy bien

Warm when cold and rain outside. I like their coffee.

The treat wasn’t so good and they work with a very dirty surface. They gave us an extra hot drink without asking for it because they had some left of another order and they took quite long in making orders because of the conversation they had going on. The drinks were average Costa drinks but not worth it you could go to the Starbucks nearby or other nice coffee shops.

Anyone who has seen the film Tenet knows the experience of watching time go forward and back simultaneously. That is like the staff in the Costa franchise in Oxford's Tesco's They walk back and forth behind the counter, absent mindedly tapping items, picking them up, putting them down, walking away and then returning to them. Whereas in other coffee shops you order the drink , they make it and hand it to you, in this place you place your order and then watch time and action go on an odd journey. Everything takes a long time and as a result queues are long. As I sit here now there are three people who have ordered but been stood there so long that all hope has left their body Some tight, time focused training for the staff is needed.

Ooh dear arrived to buy a coffee end of the hot weather in September. Queuing up to buy a coffee and a cake. When my daughter pointed out to me the flying insects in the cabinet displaying the cakes. She alerted the young man behind the counter who removed two of the cakes shook them off then left them on the back counter. Leaving the cabinet with the flying insects in and the other cakes. Needless to say we left

Costa coffee Queen Street Oxford is totally disgusting there was small flies landing on the unwrapped cakes the staff was rude and looked like they did not want to be there the piece of cake I was thrown at was almost stale and the boy working there did not use tongs and could not be bothered to properly put on gloves even though the time for closing said 8pm they were closing at 5 45pm I will not be making a return visit and do not recommend it either😡 go to Starbucks its much nicer

I really liked how big the costa is, they have have two floors with seating upstairs. Staff very friendly too.

I am ashamed and very sorry to say that I will never go into this place again. I have been coming for years and today, the service of one particular gentleman ruined my experience. We had come in to sit and work. I always order more than one thing from costa however today, I was a bit full so I was planning on ordering something later on. This big gentleman, unfortunately i didn't get his name,(eastern european maybe)( blonde hair) ( i am describing him in order to identify him) (he worked on thursday,25th of august 2022 in the afternoon in Costa oxford city centre) , accused me and my sister of abusing his hospitality and kicked us out of the store. I said that I was planning on getting something later and he disregared us and told us to leave. I would appreciate it if someone clarified that using such an abrasive word such as "abuse" is incosiderate and in no way truthful. I myself am in the hospitality business and have never been this disrespected. He should be ashamed of himself and costa should be more careful who they hire for their brand image. After so many years, this man has made costa lose such a loyal client. I am very dissapointed because i know the standard they hold and how unfortunate it is to lose someone because someone does not know how to talk to clients.

Always love costa, great coffee and great service. Ordered a caramel iced latte and was served by a lovely friendly gentleman with curly brown hair - a real asset to the team, handling the busy queues with a smile on his face. Would recommend.

A women with a kid ,in front of me, order her drink and the blonde haired guy took her order. I was next inline and he looked over at me and then just wondered off without asking me for my drink order. We left his college to make the women's order and others but I stood in the que for 5 minutes but line was forming behind me. I left after waiting a long time to get my coffee ordered. There was no sign of the blonde guy as I think he went on a break? I will never set foot in a Costa coffee again as the experience has left he angry & perplexed. I went to the Nero coffee on the high street and was treated well.

Not a great experience. Only 2 staff behind the till. Not one clean table to sit at. I asked one of the staff if someone could come and clear the tables and they said they are short staffed. 15 minutes later and no attempt made to clear away the full tables.

In the morning we Had 2 pain au raisin, cold and dry for sure from the day before! Unprofessional!! Cappuccino was ok.

Am jolly glad that Coca Cola who own Costa have withdrawn their business from Russia as it means that people with a sense of morality & decency can in good conscience continue going to Costa for their excellent refreshments. The staff in this fine Costa on Queens Street are top notch & deeply dedicated individuals who always put the customer first. Am always impressed by the quality of the single origin coffee & by the soothing atmosphere & general ethos of said cafe. If you need to recharge or get a quick takeaway coffee then this is the place for you. Especially given the reasonable prices & high quality of the refreshments on offer.

Looks as if they have good intentions for being covid safe staff working behind screens, hand gel and notices. The place was not being cleared very often and consequently very limited seating. Hot chocolate hot but not much taste.

The hot chocolate I ordered was good and the Costa is in a good location for shoppers. I’d recommend this Costa but say that there are other, independent coffee shops nearby.

Clean and tidy with good service and nice coffee, staff and customer adhering to the current Covid regulations.

Popped in for a coffee and cake, unfortunately the muffins were so stale they were difficult to cut with the supplied knife. Customer also had a radio on, not headphones but full blown old school radio, which made talking difficult. Shame really as Costa is generally good and this hands down is the worse I have ever been to.

After such a long break(I haven't been in a coffee shop of any description since January due to the coronavirus!)it was really great to be able to come in and enjoy a cappuccino! Of course, with all the distancing measures and other things, there are a lot fewer tables in here, but it was just nice to be back. A limited selection of cakes was on offer, but that is to be expected and the 'Bakewell slice' I had was as good as ever(as was the coffee!). I always prefer to 'drink in' than takeaway, so this was a treat! The staff did a good job and the atmosphere was good. I shall return!

Reliable chain for good quality coffee. There are numerous outlets all over the place so service and surroundings vary considerably. This one was pretty average though the cappuccino and latte was up to the usual standard and the lemon muffins were nice!

New Years Day, we pop into town for the usual lottery of who is or is not open and then decided to have a coffee and piece of cake in Costa. We like this brand and use it a lot. It was not busy and two dejected and disinterested people laboured through the orders, ignoring those who were next in line. No eye contact, no greeting or acknowledgement as to their existence or value. Eventually we obtained our goal and sat down. A few minutes later, a woman on a serious four wheel mobility unit who also had a support dog entered the queue. It was obvious to anyone that she was having difficulties with dog, truck, handbag and purse except the oblivious 2 behind the counter. When she obtained her goods she made for the seating area and it was left to a customer, me, to pull chairs aside and move a table so that she could park up. The irony was not lost in that due to a chronic pulmonary disease I also have mobility issues and as I had not taken my receipt of our purchases with the relevant “lavatory code” printed thereon, was unable to gain access to the lavatory downstairs and there was no way that I was going to scale the central staircase. We left and returned to Marks and Spencer for me to use their facilities. This was a shameful and degrading display; yet again inclusivity only appears to be relevant if it is trendy and brightly coloured and for not those who are seriously challenged by disability, age or chronic illness.

While staying in Oxford, we had been having a pleasant time visiting the various attractions around the town. By late afternoon, we started to head back towards our hotel. On the way, we stopped off at the Westgate Shopping Centre to do a spot of shopping. Once, we had visited the stores we wanted to see, we decided that it was time for some coffees. After consulting the centre’s directory, we discovered that there was a Costa Coffee outlet situated on the upper level, near the Primark department store. Having patronised Costa outlets elsewhere in the U.K., we decided that this would be a good spot to get a nice coffee at a reasonable price. Consequently, we made our way to the small coffee lounge and as there were few customers there at the time, had plenty of choices as to where to sit. Service at the counter was fast, efficient and courteous. We both chose cappuccinos. They were served quickly and were very generous in size and well-priced. The premises and tables were clean and the surroundings were quiet. There was a nice outlook over part of the shopping mall. Recommended for good coffee at a reasonable price in pleasant surroundings!

£12 for four medium drinks. I thought it wasn’t too bad. No tables pushed together downstairs so if more than two if you you’ll have to push together yourself or go upstairs. Lots of tightwads using laptops for the free WiFi. Toilets locked. You have to get a code from the till. So you have to ask the server for the code while you inform the rest of the queue you need a dump. They could add this code to your receipt. Just an idea. I imagine it’s to stop the vast amount of homeless in the city using them or druggies shooting up. Just put the code in the receipt. Overall, good value and just opposite the newish shopping centre.

I wouldn't normally bother writing a review for a big chain, but I am so annoyed by my experience I had to share. I just went in for a takeaway espresso - the quickest drink. There was a massive queue waiting for complicated beverages, so I wait. The queue clears and I notice at least 2 people are served who ordered after me, and the barista seems to be waiting for something to do. I ask what happened to my coffee, and the barista says "oh yeah" in a completely unconcerned voice and wanders over to the machine to make it. No "I'm sorry", "I forgot, I'll make it right away". I roll my eyes and the poor woman at the till apologises and says it was her fault - not true, I heard her pass the order on as clear as day - and I'm afraid she got a Hard Stare from me as a result, when she at least said the right thing. For heaven's sake, passing an order from one person to another should not be so hit and miss. You're a huge chain, surely you should at least get this right? And if you screw up APOLOGISE. Or at least look embarrassed and get a move on to fix the mistake.

I'm a regular visitor to Oxford and always start the day with a coffee - which I always buy in this store. The staff here constantly make great coffee - which gets the day off to a great start for me. The muffins are a favourite cake - the chocolate and blueberry varieties are best - and are always very fresh. The team behind the counter do a wonderful job in often hectic circumstances, so their efforts are appreciated all the more. Keep up the good work!!

Troppo poche due persone per un posto così grande! I ragazzi facevano chiaramente del loro meglio, ma dover servire i molti clienti e contemporaneamente pensare alla pulizia del locale non è possibile, da cui un'impressione generale di trascuratezza incolpevole. Per il resto, tipico Costa caffè.

Visitamos para salir del clima frío y húmedo. Normalmente nos quedamos con nuestro café habitual, pero decidimos probarlo. Mi hijo y yo comimos chocolates calientes que sabían a leche tibia y espumosa, todo el almíbar se puso como una gota blanda en el fondo de la taza. Mi marido tenía un blanco plano que tiró a la mitad. El ambiente era muy aburrido y el personal carecía de habilidades básicas de servicio al cliente. Muy pobre no regresará: -

On a recent trip to Oxford,I used this Costa and all was fine. Staff are nice,place was clean and tidy & service was quick and friendly. Would use again when I'm back that way.

平日の午後3時頃に行きましたが、オックスフォードのCity Center エリアという立地からか、店内はほぼ満席でした。店内での飲食はあきらめて、フードのみのテイクアウトにしました。チョコレートブラウニーがとても美味しかったです。

The staff are friendly, and the service was okay. HOT chocolates are my favourite on the list. The only issue i have with this place is that i am always asking for the toilet paper in the toliets to be topped up.
