Such a nice relaxing vibe. Great place to chill whatever time of day. Friendly staff.

Fine, as long as you don't sit downstairs, as the close proximity of the toilets tends to cause unsavoury smells to float in the air, leaving a nasty aroma hanging around to go with your coffee and cake...

I visited this store on 10/10/24 at around 8 am , the two male baristas , were so kind to me and also kind caring to the gentleman in front of me above and beyond normal great customer service I am only sorry I didn’t get your names so that your bosses might recognise the truly lovely staff that morning .

We visited on 24/09/24, The general atmosphere is very nice. The coffee is well made, and so are the desserts. We accidentally spilled our drinks, and the servers were so nice and cleaned it up and got us new drinks. Would recommend.

A Café with flavour. Lovely Pistachio Latte and Tiramisu. It used to offer a fantastic service. Barista Michaela was hard-working, super fast and personal. Her kindness and professionalism are definitely missed now that she’s no longer there. The question is, what’s wrong with the management to lose its good employees?!

Bad service We came from another city and sat down before ordering. The service asked if you were ordering. What is this bad manners? I went to many branches of Nero, but I did not find a branch like this one. I will not repeat my visit to it. I did not even like the coffee.

i came in today for a coffee, and as soon as i walked i felt very welcomed by the lovely two gentleman , there service was amazing an very polite. will definitley be coming back for there lovely service.

Gone downhill, one of Nero's crummiest cafés. No WiFi. Very tatty seats. Dirty. Grotty. Overpriced.

Great coffee but unfortunately horrible staff, well one staff member in particular, the manager. I have never had the displeasure of meeting someone less suited to working with the public than them. They’re not only rude and abrasive to customers but the staff as well. As a customer they make you feel unwelcome, like you’re an inconvenience for ordering a coffee and along with the way they look at you like you shouldn’t be there. With the rate of staff turnover I am surprised head office hasn’t investigated. Surely the cost of hiring and training new staff far outweighs any benefits of keeping the manager in such an undeserved position. Caffè Nero do better and get rid of the manger, so this Caffè Nero can return to the pleasant, relaxing coffee shop it used to be

Is it good service when a staff member ignores you and stays busy while you are talking to them? That was my experience today. The staff member walked away twice during our conversation without any excuse or apology. They also didn't let me collect a stamp when I paid for my coffee. I am a fan of Caffè Nero. Wherever I go—Nottingham, Epsom, Enfield, etc.—I always enjoy getting a cup of coffee. This has never happened to me before. I am really disappointed with the service today.

The service is good with a friendly Chinese manager barista. The lines are short, I come in before 7:00 am, so your in out quickly. All in all a good experience.

08.09.24 at 3.38 PM I'm been inside to have coffee, next to me (30 cm ) the staff (one lady )started to clean the carpet from the front door with the broom .I tried to tell her that all the dust came into the coffee and on the croissant and her answer was get out for fresh air. I wanted to do the complaint but she didn't want to give me any details. She told me she is the manager and her name is Leslie. I asked to see the badge she said she didn't have . All bar and toilet very dirty, and this lady (LESLIE) VERY NAUGHTY.

The Asian manager’s attitude stinks. Got pointed at and was spoken to with so much attitude!

One lady who works here is absolutely horrible. She's rude to every customer that walks in and is actually quite malicious. Is being nice to people really that hard? I feel bad for her colleagues because it's clear she even treats them horribly, she was snapping at them and trying to make their lives difficult. I understand that working in the service industry is hard at times, and that customers themselves can be difficult but to treat everyone you interact with in that way is simply out of order. If her colleagues are reading this I'm sure you know who I'm talking about! I truly feel for you!

I like the coffee and atmosphere here, but the service I received today was awful. The barista was extremely curt and abrasive in her approach, and it made the customer feel pretty unwelcome. It was an unpleasant start to the day.

Terrible, rude, poorly trained and unprofessional.

Took forever to get served. It was the barista's first day yet she was left alone to fend for herself. The manager decided that when she came upstairs that she would mess around with the pot washer instead of serving the growing line of patient customers. Customers by now were walking out without a purchase. When she finally decided to serve someone all they got was a "yep". No customer service skills. A sorry for your wait or a pleasant good morning would have been appropriate. I'm a fan of the Clarinet Concerto in A Major, but it was way too loud and prevented conversation. I won't be returning to this store. One the plus point, the trainee barista did her best and served a great coffee.

James is the best barista ever! Very friendly and patient with everyone and tries to get everyone the best deal possible and always checks if you're eligible for a discount and always had great recommendations!

A nice cafe in the center of Oxford! The service really is top notch and the food is outstanding! They have more seating in the basement and the ambiance is nice throughout! Can get a little busy depending on the time of the day. They have sandwiches, wraps, cakes Etc and hot and cold beverages. Recommended for a quick bite or a long hangout

Always best Caffè for me but but I was more delighted in oxford Caffè Nero was the staff they are marvelous hates off to them

This cafe can only continue as it is because of its privileged location in Blackwells Bookshop. Consequently, the managers appear to have become complacent about the customer experience. It was evident that the cafe had not been properly cleaned for a very long time. All surfaces, walls, table tops seats and the floor were filthy, as was the cutlery. The staff need further training in the basics of hospitality. I will not recommend this venue to either friends or family.

The two members of staff were very good in how they dealt with each customer. Polite, engaging.

Usual dreary decor with several numpties hogging tables with their laptops and " skinny lattes". Coffee good, but expensive. (Make your own, it can be better snd definitely cheaper)

I just wanted to pass on my appreciation for Leslie and her team at the Oxford High Street location. I’ve been coming for three years and am always struck by the level of friendliness shown by the team - they recognise and know me by name, know my order, and are quick with a joke and a smile. Hands down the best Nero I’ve been too.

Our recent visit was elevated to an extraordinary experience, all thanks to James. His cheerful and friendly demeanour made our coffee stop not just about the beverage but about the warm and welcoming atmosphere he created. James is a true coffee maestro, and his outstanding customer service is a shining example of what every customer hopes for. We need more people like him to make our daily interactions delightful! :)

Rud very rud woman miserable always

Lovely caramelised onion and cheese lattice and a hot chocolate. Have to admit the downstairs loos are a bit filthy though.

Avoid. Manager was rude and toilets were dirty.

10.45 on a Thursday morning and there were no bacon rolls, not even a sandwich. There was one member of staff on hand. Very disappointing as we ended up with food that we didn’t really want. Normally love Nero and we only stayed because we were very hungry, no other reason

Had a long journey before arriving in Oxford and needed loo and a coffee. Went to my trusted place in Oxford cafe Nero to use loo and have a coffee. Loos sadly out of order so had to get to market loos before returning for a lovely coffee and pastry. Coffee is great but place looking a little tired. The trainee barista serving today was really good - both with me and other customers - he was cheery - friendly and made great coffee.

Good place to enjoy coffee while working on your laptop

I happen to be at Caffe Nero in High street quiet often I never wanted to say anything but it does look like they are so understaffed I am a human resources manager and I can tell when a team member is stressed. People need a break even from other people asking for a coffee or a panino ( as panini is the wrong translation from the Italian). My order is always the same a latte with the coffee put on a side I asked for it 100000 times in all United Kingdom and they seem to be still surprised at Caffe Nero they answer very annoyed and in a rude way they ask you in brackets probably thinking in their mind (how the hell do you want it?) In Italy we have several ways of ordering a coffee as noone is the same. I am not allowed to have coffee and It is too strong the taste as well I adore it in my latte as to slightly taste the flavour everytime I ask for less coffee they put a lot anyway so this is my way to measure it on my own. There is nothing wrong with it. She is now speaking about the rota very annoyed so there must be some overload of work here. On the top of her rude approach the croissants were raw, as I was intimidated I did not dare to underline it.The tallest one seemed to be annoyed about my request in the past as well and the way she calls customers I deem it inappropriate "honey and sweetheart" I do not feel your honey. Also I do think the presentation is an important side of your job and she is always looking very rough like her hair could fall on my coffee anytime as I found one once.

Nice good coffee and excellent friendly service

I had not visited one of these cafes for ages, so I thought I'd check the High Street establishment out. As is my norm, I ordered the cappuccino and hoped that it would be good following a disappointing drink at another chain recently. I was pleasantly surprised to find both a great cup of coffee and very friendly, courteous staff. You would not find a better, stronger brew than I had here - a good start to the day. Added to that was the extremely dark chocolate muffin. It makes a nice change to find such a decent cappuccino - even better to have friendly staff who know how to make coffee the correct way. Well done!

Cafe Nero on high street has become my new favourite, Had one of the best customer services from the lady who served me. The drink she recommended was spot on and she was very friendly. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Best cafe nero I visited in ages.

You take a coffee chain (that does mediocre coffee) and team up with Three (which has terrible network and constant drop-outs) and somehow it works! £1 coffee every week! I can look past the pastries which have been sitting there for days. £1 for any hot drink! You can’t really go wrong. Just make sure you get your voucher in advance and screenshot it as Cafe Nero blocks out your already weak Three signal.

These Baristas know the meaning of quality service! A bit loud at times, and a long queue that takes up much of the entrance/gangway but worth if for the efficient, friendly service

the leader of this coffee shop is unkind. We got blamed because we only bought two cups of coffee but stayed there working for the whole afternoon. Terrible experience.

Caffe Nero on High Street is my favourite place to go when I want to drink coffee and do my own work at the same time. There are more seats downstairs, and I can see many people studying in the cafe during Oxford term time. I personally like to drink their iced Americano because I love iced Americano and this is one of the few cafes in Oxford that it tastes nice. I have also tried their festive menu, Salted Caramel Brownie Hot Chocolate and it tasted really great.

Good value place to grab a hot drink in Oxford city centre, with a nice range of drinks and snacks. Really liked the interior with all the books, especially the single seat stations, perfect if you want to get a bit of work done. Staff were very friendly and rescued my phone when I misplaced it and kept it safe.

I was at this Nero again yesterday, served by a barista and a new female employee. Excellent service from both. As I sat enjoying my purchases, time and again the staff around me helped out patrons, gave directions and were overall lovely. The best Nero I have been to! 10/10

This is my favourite cafe to go in the city centre because of the friendly staff and the quality of the drinks/food. Every barista and cashier I have interacted with were all so kind and positive, which always left me with that same energy when I leave to go about the rest of my day. Truly such a wonderful environment.

I come here often and the baristas are always so welcoming, professional and friendly. But today in particular James made me feel at ease when I embarrassingly missed a step on the stair and dropped my coffee all over the floor. Couldn't have asked for a better response and such a delightful individual. I would definitely recommend this café.

Really experienced morning staff with a no nonsense attitude that I treasure. Chain coffee but it's decent and it has AC which is wonderful considering were in the worst heatwave ever. Basement is much quieter.

The iced flat white was delicious!! The interior and atmosphere are wonderful as well. The staff was friendly and helped me out when I had trouble with the unfamiliar currency I'll come to this cafe again:)

The barista started by telling me that she was short staffed and that I wouldn’t be getting a pot of tea. I explained how horrible tea tastes in a paper cup and had to practically argue with her to get the pot of tea I was paying for. She moaned at everyone who came in that she had no time to wash up. Very unpleasant service. Wasted our visit
