I can't review food as we only had coffee but I was pleasantly surprised by the interior of this Costa. Plenty of tables to sit at and the staff were helpful and polite. I would go again.

Haven’t been in a Costa in many years but I was stuck in a train station and thought I’d give them a chance. They don’t know what a flat white is. I Ordered a flat white and was given a 12oz latte. When I told them I was given a latte by mistake they insisted that it was in fact a flat white. In what world is a flat white 90% milk? They offered to make me a cortado instead so I can’t fault the staff, but how such a large chain be so clueless on such a simple aspect of coffee baffles me. Passable latte anyways 5/10.

Asked for the WiFi code, was cheerily informed "it's called Costa WiFi, it doesn't work though, that's the only problem!". Great.

The staff in this costa are some of the most patient, and loveliest people i have ever met. Always greeted with a smile every morning, absolute pleasure coming here!

Given a half full,or half empty, coffee. Asked for it to be topped up and got a diva tantrum from barrista, they already charge more the high Street Costas

Worst experience.I purchased a small cup of espresso, was only around 20 ml, and when I placed it on a table outside the rail station, it was swept away by the wind.

Arrived at 19:02 and was told it was closed, door was locked but key was in the door to let out the last few customers. Google maps says it's open till 19:30 so I'm disappointed as I had planned to grab a bite here while waiting for my connecting train. Would've bought something elsewhere earlier if I had known it would be shut.

We went in yesterday evening for coffees whilst waiting for our train. Staff at Costa Chester Railway station are amazing! Service is so quick and they are all so professional and polite when serving people (to my mind under intense pressure as it is always so busy!) This next comment has nothing to do with the staff but the new decor!! Absolutely horrendous!! The naive images of teacup, coffee pot, spoon etc on the far wall are so awful! The monochrome photos were wonderful, gave the cafe character and atmosphere. The coffee beans on the wall are equally awful! Who makes these decisions? Clearly someone with no taste. Alas Cafe Neros have more classy decor and better music too!!

We were blown away by how hard the team were working at Costa this morning. The queue was going out the door and every member of staff was communicating clearly and being so friendly. Very impressive 👏 I would have said something in the moment but it was so busy I didn't want to interrupt. Thanks guys!

Chester station usual Costa fare good value. Recommended.

All of the staff members are extremely friendly and very attentive. Drinks are served up to the standards. Place is always clean as seen the staff clean up after every customer. I also read one of the reviews, that mentioned Beth being rude? I was actually there where the situation happened, and I can confirm that this is not true. I recall Beth asking the lady what type of milk she’d like, but she’d only respond with ‘MILK!’, being quite rude herself. She managed to handle the situation very well, and I couldn’t say a bad word about her. Absolutely brilliant place and staff. Would recommend!

The cashier Beth was super rude, my mom an old senior asked for a little milk and she tried her incredible bad and said no, all in from of the other employees.

I always love Costa, thier service is good and they always serve nice fresh food.

Atmosphere was let down by the fire alarm going off for ages, despite staffs attempts to fix it. Clearly the owner needs to pull their finger out. Poor staff were mortified and most of the customers left because they couldn't relax due to the siren. Staff were nice and seemed attentive to cleaning and serving duties. Cold drinks taste slightly too watered down, might want to check the measurements and ice volume as it doesn't taste the same as other franchises in the area.

The staff are always friendly and helpful despite being a busy cafe & serving a lot of take aways as customers are in a rush to catch their trains. Table clean, coffee served quickly. There was also a good range of cakes and sandwiches available. 😃

Last Friday and also today Thursday a week later, the same question on arrival was asked at Costa coffee in Chester ' can I have one coffee and one tea please'... The reply 'sorry we don't have any tea'... Really? Well they had a week to get tea, surely a manager could have popped to a local shop in view of supplier delivery failure.....very poor customer service indeed in my opinion

Feel the need to apologise for being awkward and going in for a coffee and a Bakewell before a train trip. Obvious lack of interest by the girl serving. Unable to see the cake cabinet as a member of staff was stocking and refused to move when I asked. Had to remind about my cake. So, I do apologise for entering your place of work and having the cheek to ask for coffee. 🙄

Was so chuffed with the service here, served by 3 lovely women this morning! I’ve worked in a busy morning coffee shop and it’s so difficult to keep on top of everything and keep a cheery attitude, and the baristas did that perfectly. Really brightened up mine and my girlfriends morning! Never leave reviews but the baristas need recognition for being so bright and cheery and you could tell everyone was very happy with the service. Thank you!

April 2023 it's had a refurb looks really nice

Coffee is always good at costa, I always go to my local drive through. This time I was travelling on a train so I had to go into the establishment. Unfortunately when I was here this morning at around 8:45 the atmosphere was awful. There was a massive queue starting from the till and ending at the ticket barriers (not a problem I wasn’t in a rush). But the place was clearly understaffed. The staff looked fed up and didn’t seem to get on with each other. The pressure from the large amount of customers might have caused a few conflicts.

Lovely person serving, friendly and quick. Standard Costa menu. However the tables were pretty much all dirty and in need of a wipe down despite not being busy and several staff milling about- needs a good manager to keep an eye on the bigger picture.

Nice convenient store, you know what you're getting with Costa. Although your experience can depend on who's working that day. The staff sometimes have a tendency to talk amongst themselves which can be seen as rude. Overall it's a reliable Costa.

No wifi - well, there is but it's unusably bad. Not good enough in these flexible working times...

Had a terrible experience with a member of staff by name Elizabeth who couldn’t be patient enough with customers due to a long queue around 2:30pm today. Very rude individual to say the least.

Went to Costa for coffee and breakfast. The shelves were empty. A delivery came in and after a while I went in and requested a pastry, a young chap was putting out the delivery in the fridge. I was told the pastries that had been delivered today are for tomorrow. Does this mean Costa pastries are a day old and not fresh?

The coffee is always very palatable and Staff friendly. I had a flat white coffee and snack. The free wi-fi is great too.

This is my favourite local Costa. So glad it's open now. A franchise operation with a rapid footfall for the trains so may have long queues sometimes. Staff are quick and polite. I like to use this place as a quiet place. Highly recommended.

I always go to this Costa Coffee when I'm in Chester. I am always impressed by the cheerful, friendly staff who seem to be able to juggle the orders seamlessly to keep the customers happy. It can get very busy at times such as lunch time and when people are waiting for trains. The food and drinks are more on the pricy side but its all worth it!!

Popped in here while waiting for the train. The staff were friendly and the service fairly efficient. The queuing and waiting areas were a bit chaotic but the coffee was good.

Als ich mir dort auf weg zum Zug ein Kaffee und Kuchen bestellt habe meinte der Kellner man kann nur Bankomat Zahl da kasse kaputt ist, zuerst wundere mich sehr wie kann das sein das man Geld nicht einfach annimmt aber sagte von mir aus. Als ich dann zuhause sah wieviel mir tatsächlich abgebucht worden ist dachte mir wow jetzt weiß ich warum es war sehr teuerer Kaffe. Am besten man Rechnet gleich nach wieviel man dort bezahl für das schlechte Service!

I ordered an English Breakfast tea. Made it to my train and find the tea bag had a chalky brown gunk it had infused into the drink. What on earth. Straight in the bin.

Often drop in for a take away coffee. Ordered a flat white to have with a sandwich whilst waiting 20 mins for my train. Not brilliant, but what you expect from Costa. Half of the tables in the cafe were available, but unfortunately every single one was filthy and hadn't been cleaned. The staff appeared uninterested in rectifying this whilst there was no-one to serve, preferring to nip into the back.

Amazing staff, attitude and service with a smile. Clean tidy and well stocked shop. I would like to mention one member of staff though.... This member of staff helped an older disabled man with his drink, helping him with drinking and ensuring his experience was no different to anyone else. Thank you for showing how great and how much a human touch means to people. Even a cup of tea proves we are all cable of great things no matter how small they seem well done and thank you. 👏👏❤❤

You have to pass from the platform through the ticket gates to access Costa, but staff waved me through, and back onto the platform with my purchases, no problem. Long but fast-moving queue, and slightly chaotic service at the drinks collection point. Another customer swiped my drinks, but the baristas sorted me out with new ones without any fuss. Thence to the tiny waiting room to find the family and enjoy some great coffee and hot chocolate in peace before our next train.

My review is not based on the service I received (which I must add was excellent) but the service I witnessed. There was a disabled person (physically and mentally)in a wheelchair who was obviously a regular but it warmed my heart to see how attentive all the staff were with him. I genuinely wanted to cry. They laughed with him, they helped him, they made a fuss, they treated him like a member of their family. I wish more people would see though disability and behave like this. A real credit to the Costa team

Usual Costa coffee. Not great but OK. Usually very busy.

I visited here on my way from Bradford to London. Whilst there was the usual Costa food and drink options served well, what impressed me most was the outstanding kindness of the staff displayed to a gentleman with physical disabilities who visited on a very cold night in a wheelchair. He is clearly well known to the team and a frequent visitor but the staff took time and patience to help feed him his dinner and held his cup as he drank. They chatted and smiled throughout and went over and above in their duties and I wanted to take this opportunity to recognise their outstanding customer service, kindness and teamwork.

Convenient coffee shop and quick service - just what you need before a trip to London

6 members of staff standing behind the counter, some with their hands in their apron pockets chatting to each other. Whilst inside the venue there are 4 tables absolutely full of empty used crockery suggesting the tables have not been cleared for a long time. People entering with young children and having to clear these tables. Outside a rather large spillage of coffe with customers having to walk around it - like the staff are doing. Is anyone in charge? !!

If you just want a sandwich or something hot very good place to visit and the staff work so well together.

Called in for early morning coffee before train journey. I was so impressed with the efficiency of all staff serving the early morning commuters. Quickly sorted friendly yet still good well made coffee. It was a pleasure to watch all staff members working together clearly a good working relationship with each other. Thanks for showing what good customer service is.

Quick Service (with a smile) Coffee was as expected

My 3rd trip this week due to being on the road. First two visits were okay, big queues, but lots of staff to help out. A bit awkward hanging around getting in everyones way whilst waiting. Coffee was okay, but a little bitter (burnt). Today, I entered and turned straight back out after witnessing a staff member coughing all over the place, she looked very unwell and in my opinion should of not been working in a place that serves food and drink. Possible solutions - had I witnessed her sanitisng her hands post coughing into them I may have stayed and ordered - but as it was, infectious staff should be at home! Not at work...

Ordered, a tea, a cappuccino and a Frostino, which required each of the three person team to work specifically on my order. It was a delight to see how quickly, efficiently and pleasantly they performed the service. And the café was busy, so they were all handling multiple orders. Later I ordered a cheese scone for my daughter which was heated up. Five star friendly service. I’ll be back next time I am in Chester.

They rely on passengers swapping trains ..its actually in chester st.. we got off liverpool train heading telford so not much choice . If were actually in chester we buy from shops as costa prices are 3 times price . Ok for coffee

On my long morning commute for a meeting I went to the door to open it and it was locked.

Would only come here as I was catching a train, as like most people I imagine. They have a different system here compared to other costas? Instead of popping the orders down for the barista to see in order, the person on the till shouts them out? Fine, but not if there are quite a few people waiting? Meant the orders were confused and I had to wait and then remind them of a drink. Not ideal when getting on trains. Drinks ok though and staff friendly other wise
