We recently stopped at Wetherby Drive Thru and were refused service as we had a dog with us. We all know that Costa have recently changed their policies and allow dogs in most coffee shops. Despite sharing the specific branch amenities stating dogs allowed the staff were totally inflexible. Staff should be fully aware of company policies and Costa should update door posters at the same point in time with such changes to avoid ambiguity. Finally staff should not hide behind the fact they are a franchise, branches branded as Costa have identical look and feel and follow same policies otherwise there are inconsistencies which lead to poor customer service and satisfaction.

Called at Costa Coffee at Wetherby services and was served by “Oscar” the barista. He was the consummate professional. Very welcoming and professional. I needed some assistance with some aspects of the Costa coffee app on my phone and Oscar couldn’t have been any more helpful. Even saying “it’s what we are here for” when I thanked him. He’s a credit to the company for sure.

Visited here Fri 6/9/24 and Fri 13/9/24. Was busy both times. On the 6/9/24 the disappointing thing was they were out of bread for toast and i was starving and cannot eat cake items . Apart from that service was ok as was the drinks.

I stop here quite often when travelling as it is convenient. Area always seems very dirty , I appreciate it's a busy service station but other businesses within the complex manage to keep their areas clean and tidy . Always lots of staff but they seem to get in each other's way and don't appear to work cohesively together . Service is usually very slow and although the coffee is usually ok , the one I purchased on Saturday 24th August 2024 was probably one of the worst I've ever had in a costa

To the assistant manager bianca, at the small Costa bit, can you teach your staff how to make a iced whip latte properly please. Sauce to line 1, ice to line 3, milk then the whip. I hardly had any salted caramel sauce. And yes I do work in Costa Thanks 👍🏽

Large queue in service station. Counter was very dirty and staff looked fed up. Ordered 3 hot drinks to have indoors, all served in takeaway cups. Staff member said it was easier to serve takeaway cups to help them to save washing up. Drinks not very tasty or hot. Poor Costa.

Stopped here with a coach trip, no organisation of where to stand in a queue, people were standing in three different places? I ordered 2 hot chocolates with cream and walked to the end of the counter which people were picking orders up from. I stood there for about 5 minutes , staff going backwards and forwards then noticed 2 hot chocolates at the other end of the counter which no one was claiming? I went and picked them up and no staff told me they were mine just looked at me? They were luke warm and tasteless, couldn't taste the chocolate and no spoons for the cream just a wooden stick and no serviettes, tables and floors were dirty. Really disappointed for what you pay. I use Costa a lot but was disappointed with this one.

We stopped at Wetherby Services on our way back from a football game 30/09/23. The young man who was with us has special needs and spoke to the young gentleman serving us. He asked 'what do you think of Ipswich' whom we had been to see playing at Huddersfield. Without a hint of embarrassment or awkwardness he replied 'I don't really have a view but I like your shirt!'. To engage in that way with direct eye contact is a real credit. He put the drink in a larger cup when asked, added milk in front of the young man asking him to say when, he even asked if he wanted another tea bag! Above and beyond, I wish we had asked his name, he was a credit to the organisation. Our coffees, hot chocolate & tea were just what we needed but the service tipped it over the edge to make it a truly memorable experience.

I’ve always had good experiences at this Costa Coffee. The staff always seem very happy to be working there and are very patient and helpful. On a recent birthday visit, I needed some assistance with the costa app on my phone and this was no problem at all to the staff member at the till. She patiently helped me negotiate the app to chose the offer I needed. The manageress, I believe, also came over to help. I was really impressed. The usual excellent coffee and cakes were consumed.

Long gone are the days of motorway greasy spoons as stop off points. Wetherby station is smart and clean with a choice of eateries. Cornish pasty van outside, KFC, Costa, M and S and Pret A Manger. You may pay a bit more but the facilities are really well maintained.

Disgusting full of flies, told staff who said yeah we know, the flies were on the food and also on the benches staff use to prepare food, no ice at 9:30 am and no coconut milk so instead replaced with almond without saying, also the first drinks given were wrong size. Contacted management who blamed cleanliness on moto cleaning staff and ignored flies. Offered a £5 gift card

Awful. I asked if they served caramel macchiato (I’m used to a big cup of caramel flavoured strong / slightly milky coffee from Starbucks). The girl looked confused so she asked her colleague who said yeah they could make me one. It came - tiny. Weighed nothing. Literally an espresso with a dash of caramel syrup. Felt robbed of £4. Threw it in the bin and held on until I got to Starbucks in Durham where I got a proper coffee.

I've been trying to get hold of this whilst travelling back from London. Despite the smaller Costa section just closing, Megan went and checked the shelves at the Costa cafe and then contacted the drive through near the exit, they had some in! As I was clueless to where I was going Megan walked with me, (first checking there weren't queues of people needing serving). It has been a long time since someone really went above and beyond to help, especially at a service station. My wife was delighted when I presented her with the tub. Thank you so very much Megan, you were wonderful 🌻

16/04/22 The Costa staff and there were 6 on) were young and again seemed more interested in having a laugh with each other behind the counter rather than serving and making good coffee. The tall lad (with curly hair) that did eventually get round to inviting the growing queue to be served was devoid of courtesy. When my coffees were eventually made they certainly weren’t Flat Whites, more a lute warm cup of liquid. There seems to be no management overseeing these kids and clearly no desire to maintain a quality branded product. Save your pallet, your stomach and your pocket from this appalling place.

Giving this 4 stars because it’s Costa and no Costa is worth 5 stars. Compared to the Costa in the service station, the service here is loads better. It always takes ages in the station but the drive thru is always really quick, even if there’s a queue I’ve never had to wait too long. The staff are always really friendly too.

Thought I’d go into the cafe part off costa for my coffee rather than the machines in the shop . My coffee was rushed by a young employee Freddie ..it was strong with the milk poured in from the milk carton rather than using the milk machine he was to busy talking to a girl I’m presuming was hes girlfriend I ended up going into the shop and using the machines not sure if this happened as it was 830pm maybe he had cleaned machine ready for him finishing not sure

Massive thank you to LOUIS at costa coffee on 12/Feb/22 @ 00:16. Dear Costa if you read this do pass on my thanks to LOUIS who was very cheerful and provided really good customer service. If the staff at all motorway services were this pleasant then I would not mind working in the transport industry at night times. But LOUIS is in fact quite unique. I have sat here during my 45 minute break and he has consistently engaged with every customer. Well done LOUIS. Well done costa for being open!

Want to use my points to pay, but the machine is mot working. All i said to one ot the member of staff to let the management know about it because customers needed it to collect points. Suddenly the staff acted differently and saying its not her fault why I'm blaming her, I don't want to argue with you blah blah blah!!! Wow I was shocked by the stinky attitude! Huge shoutout to the Boxing Day afternoon staff. Our car broke down in the drive through area forcing the staff to close the drive through service and shut early. Could not have been more thoughtful and even offered a complimentary coffee during our long wait for assistance. Big brands are built on their staff - well done Costa!

I stopped at Moto service for a Costa Coffee as Moto is the only Services I stop due to always having a good experience. Unfortunately this time was different. I brought my 2 costa mugs with me and ordered Medium Cappuccino and Medium Black Americano. I scanned my Costa app and without asking my free drink voucher was used, I asked them that I didn't want that as I wanted to pay for them and the response I got was that nothing they can do now. The male server came to me and start talking to me aggressively trying to intimidating inferring that it was my fault. I told them I know what I was doing as I am in Costa many times and I know how things works, then he start muttering under his breath and virtually threw the drinks at us. Then they tried to correct the mistake, but it threw up that I was a fraud and wouldn't allow them to proceed. The manageres said there was nothing else she could do. Not happy with this service!.

Awful service - everything but drive thru closed at 4pm on a Tuesday. They got my order wrong but charged me extra 50p for special milk - I couldn't drink it as I'm lactose intolerant, but it could've ended much worse had I been allergic! To top it off, they didn't even know how to scan the Costa card so I got 0 points instead of 2. Disgusted and would discourage anyone else from visiting.

Queuing out the door which is nothing new with Costa due to popularity and time to prepare drinks. However the que would have gone down a lot quicker should the 5 members of staff behind the till were serving, they appeared to be doing nothing or talking amongst themselves. Eventually served by a rude and obnoxious young lady. Asked if they did a peppermint hot chocolate to which she rolled her eyes, sighed and reluctantly said yes. Didn't ask me what size drink I wanted, or if any cream etc. Proceeded to make my drink, in a large cup, but half full, with no cream etc. Which I did want.. but she wouldn't have known this as she didn't ask as mentioned and didn't give me the chance to request, almost certain I paid for a large as was charged £10.10 for a hot chocolate, gingerbread man and two small cake bars. Drink tastes good though.

Despite being extremely busy, I found the staff that dealt with me go above and beyond in customer service. For such long queues, one could expect to get minimal satisfactory service. However the staff here were patient and offered us additional cakes when the sandwich we wanted wasn't in. A perfect example of doing something they didn't need to, but that small act goes a long way to guarantee returning customers!

Called to get drinks and a bite to eat with the family as a break from driving. 3 members of staff were working on the counter. Not sure whether they receive customer service or Covid safety training but it certainly wasn’t being put to good use on customers today. All 3 members of staff were wearing face masks ….. on their chins!!! Noses and mouths were completely exposed and they were not working exclusively behind screens. Politeness was lacking. I waited for my smoothie to be prepared as instructed. The member of staff shouted at the top of her voice “red berry smoothie” and left it sitting on the counter, exposed near other customers. No evidence of any cleaning of hand sanitizing happenstance all. A really scary experience.

Called in this morning (1.9.21 ) at about 10am for a quick bite to eat and drink . We visited the sit in side of costa coffee. The place was lovely bright and clean . I understand these places get busy , however the cashier serving me seemed to be in a hurry to serve me . I didn’t even finishing asking a question before I was abruptly interrupted, therefore getting my order wrong, and then me having to ask the Barista at the hand off point what my order was . No decaf coffee ? Is this a regular thing at these venues now because every Costa coffee venue I visit doesn’t do decaf ? I picked a bacon roll , my brother a vegetarian picked a cheese and bean toasties. They were cooked together in the oven! Is this the normal thing to do now a days in these venues? Overall a good visit my coffee (after telling the barista my drink order)was absolutely delicious and the food was piping hot.

Noticed there is not a designated Trip Advisor page for Wetherby Moto itself so I'll put our review here. Visited the Wetherby Services yesterday and was blown away by the quality of options that were made available, huge seating area for Costa alongside endless food options. Outstanding customer service and very clean. Big supporter of Moto so expect nothing less than quality when it comes to their services, absolute pleasure to stop at and will surely stop by again.

I absolutely adore the staff here!!! They're all absolutely wonderful! So warm and welcoming! Nothing is too much, they never get tired of seeing your face and even when they're having a bad day they don't let the customers see, they give you a huge smile as if you're their small piece of sanity for the day! There's a microwave for baby food or ready meals and amazingly - no one ever brings the stinky fish! There's free hot water and cold water on site. Nice seating and always a wonderful selection of goodies that the staff take additional care and attention to displaying. Honestly! Their presentation are phenomenonal. I can't say highly enough of all the perfectionist and hard workers in here but unfortunately I don't know their names! Shocking considering I see them approximately 5 times a week! Absolutely amazing team, individuals, champions of the barrister world!

Unless you want to lose an awful lot of time do not use this facility, the speed of service is dire. You would be far quicker parking your car & walking into the service area !!!. After queuing for 25 minutes I got fed up & drove over the grass to get away as there were cars queuing behind me. McDonalds have perfected the drive thru concept, Costa are failing miserably, it’s absolutely appalling.

Deseo presentar una queja. Usamos los baños y mi hija de 4 años y mi hijo de 5 se lavaron las manos antes que yo, el agua estaba extremadamente caliente y no pude poner mis manos debajo, lo que provocó que ambos niños quemaran 5 manos de herederos, lo que obviamente les causó angustia. Le informé este problema a la señora que trabaja para moto para que esto no vuelva a suceder. No había señales que le advirtieran de tanta agua caliente. . . la señora no estaba interesada en mi queja y básicamente dijo que no había nada que pudiera hacer ya que la temperatura está controlada externamente. No quería que se hiciera nada por mí mismo. Quería que se hiciera un seguimiento de este asunto para evitar que le pasara a cualquier otro niño o persona vulnerable. No recomiendo sus habilidades de servicio al cliente en absoluto y estoy profundamente decepcionado con mi visita.

Una buena parada para llevar a hijo desde Newcastle Uni para el desayuno en el camino. Almuerzo camino de regreso.Sin embargo, en marzo, este ritual tuvo repercusiones sobre las 09:00 debido al distanciamiento social de solo 30 minutos de descanso para ir al baño y un sándwich en el auto. Asistimos regularmente a estos servicios con un bebé, y el personal lo hace fácil al ser tan servicial con nuestro bebé, como llevar nuestras bebidas a nuestros asientos y ser tan serviciales. Oh. My. GOD. Let me tell you about my night at this pub in Knaresborough because, honey, it was an absolute disaster – and not the fun, reality-TV kind. No, this was the kind of drama that would make a telenovela look like a casual tea party. I sauntered in, thinking I was about to have the night of my life – and with this face, why wouldn’t I? The place was cute enough, I’ll give it that, and I thought, “This might actually be fabulous.” But oh no, darling, the universe had other plans. First off, the online ordering system was down. DOWN. In 2024! I mean, I might as well have been trying to send a telegram! The whole point of going to a pub these days is to sip a cocktail while casually tapping away on your phone, right? But noooo. Instead, I had to walk to the bar like some peasant from the 1800s. The nerve! The bar? PACKED. I could feel the wrinkles forming as I waited, endlessly, for someone to notice me. And when they finally did? They had the audacity to act like it was my fault that their ancient system had crumbled. I swear, I was two seconds away from giving them a live performance of “And I Am Telling You” right there. But wait, there’s a twist: the toilets. GORGEOUS. I mean, I walked in and thought I’d been transported to a high-end spa. Marble, mirrors, the lighting was divine—honestly, it was like a little slice of heaven in the middle of this disaster zone. I spent more time in the bathroom admiring the décor than I did actually eating or drinking. Priorities, darling. So, here’s the tea: if you’re after a stunning restroom experience, by all means, swing by. But if you’re hoping for decent service or a smooth ordering process, save yourself the heartbreak. I left hungry, frustrated, but at least with a fabulous selfie from the loo. 1.5 stars – And that’s only because the toilets SLAYED.

We asked for a vegan plant based product and got a cheese lattice. After my wife bit into it and tasted the cheese she took it back and was meet with sass and attitude. Then the manager brought over the vegan roll with no apology just banged down with more sass, then banging chairs around us to make us feel uncomfortable. May be time for HQ to come and conduct some training In customer service or time for people who are obviously not happy at work to find a job where they don't have to deal with members of the public.
