Costa Coffee in Southampton

Insanely rude and incompetent coffee shop. Ignored me for the customer behind me, who they knew (and were providing with free milk, which took a 10 minute discussion apparently) then - when they actually deigned to serve any paying customers - they took my money but didn’t pass my order on to the guy making coffee, so it wasn’t made. Never once apologised or acknowledged this, so I eventually asked for a refund. Then condescendingly dismissed my claim that it was for 6.10 and refunded me less (5.95). When I checked my bank statement … it was indeed 6.10 and they had actually charged me an additional 5.95 rather than issue a refund. Either dishonest or so incompetent it beggars belief.

Croissant pas frais. Deux cafés allongés à l'eau d'une bouilloire et le tout 15€ Accueil horrible. Bref à fuir !!!

Absolutely disgusting hollow sausages ridiculous over cook or reheated ,bacon with white fat , cold beans and white scrambled eggs which I've never seen in my life before visiting this hospital restaurant. Its quite obvious there is no quality control at all and no checking of temperatures on the hot counter what so ever . A review of this restaurants hygiene policy is needed immediately before someone gets really ill considering this is a hospital. 0 out of 10 for food quality and temperatures of food save your money and get a sandwich. Absolutely awful.

Can't believe that Costa's can't get decaf coffee and that unable to provide medium drink as shortage of cups. Staff good and new clean decor.

Tenìa un poco miedo antes fui a Costa Coffee pero no necesitè ser porque estan listos. Antes de nada el menu es un poco màs bajo que antes de covid sin embargo todavìa hay mucho eligir. Decidè tener cafè y postre mientras mi esposa eligìo un pastel fresa. Asì que en general due una experencìa positiva. Este Lugar fue super limpiar y por supuesto Los trabajadores siempre estan simpatico. Me sentì relajado y sobre todo tuve confianza en Costa Coffee. Y por cierto nuestro cafès estaba delicioso y postres sabroso.

Se me ocurrio ayer que debería tomar un café y este lugar estaba muy cerca aquí así que decidí visitar. Mi café fue bastante bueno y este lugar tienen un poco sofisticasíon y estaba no es caro.

Popped in to grab a latte and a cup of tea and the place was very busy, with all outside tables being occupied. This is a good sign even though it didn’t help me. I decided to grab the drinks to take out, which is not a problem as we went around to the quay front, which is a short stroll, and sat on the bench looking out to sea. Great latte and fantastic surroundings.

A very enjoyable visit for a flat-white and a cinnamon brioche. Comfortably seating in a spacious cafe. Delicious coffee and food. Will definitely come again.

We're regular costa coffee drinkers and we had a while to kill before our train, so we popped in here. The flat white coffees were up to standard and the staff were pleasant. It's quite a big branch so there was plenty of room.

Nice place to meet up with many of the locals and have a great cup of Latte, cappuccino or Americano coffee, various sandwiches, cookies, cakes. Everything looks good and taste good!

Quick,clean,nice staff (some members work here for years:)). You can use different independent coffee shops but this one in heart of Southampton is always good to visit. Relaxing atmosphere and you can feel like you at home.

Me and 3 friends decided to stop by for a coffee and a catch up over an upcoming wedding . Lovely atmosphere and the coffees were great . I have a latte and a warmed up brownie every Costa visit now as I’m addicted to them . Very clean and friendly staff . There was a que but was on a Sunday mid day and seemed to go quickly . See you again soon guys

Buenísimo el chocolate caliente con nubes. Este es el pequeño. Hay mediano y grande! Más o menos unas £3.

Standard Costa coffee set up and offers same old product, very little variation, you know what you are going to get. However there was a very strong smell of pee in the door way area, which was rather off putting and flies kind of on mass. Which is off putting for customers.

With an hour to wait due to a cancelled train this Costa was great for a break from train cafes. Its directly opposite the main station and has the full Costa range. Nice staff.

Ce Costa est très confortable, c’est le seul endroit pour manger pas trop bruyant dans le centre commercial où il est situé, on y mange très bien et pour pas trop cher, et l’endroit est cosy et confortable.

With three people head of us, I thought that we could grab a quick coffee and cake but service was incredibly slow. Although the coffee and tiffen were both delicious, this is not a place for a quick stop.

Popped in here for lunch on a shopping trip and was served quite quickly as it was not the peak lunch time period, Mocha Cortado was good just what I needed, Panini was hot and tasty, could do with a bit of a spruce up as not as clean as it could be, but considering the footfall it does quite well.

Popped in for a mocha early afternoon midweek. Staff not very warm but efficient and the short queue in front of me disappeared within a moment. My drink was prepared quickly and was of a good standard.

This was the worst most insulting lunch I ever had, we ordered and paid for our lunch were told to wait at the collection point my coffee came out so waited for my wives coffee and our sandwiches other people came and went after about 30 mins we enquired after our lunch a very pleasant lady told us they had given it to someone else by accident and gave us a full refund and apologised saying it will be out shortly after a few minutes the order appeared but was now wrong so we complained a different employee again apologised and said it would be sorted third time still unlucky the order came out wrong again we were now dealt with by the manager himself who was rude and off hand with us he accused us of trying to get a free lunch! We were at the hospital for a scan as my wife is pregnant and I was actually in a hurry to get back to work I was more than happy to pay for lunch but just wanted the sandwiches and drink my wife and I ordered! The manager said he was only prepared to get the correct order if we paid for the food, unbelievable so I said to forget it my wife stuck to her guns and we did eventually leave with the correct order! So if you want random suprise lunch and a row costa coffee is the place to go!

Decepcionado, pensarías cuando pasar de 2 libras en una taza de té o que por lo menos conseguir una taza limpia. Bandeja llegó en estaba asquerosa así 😷 no es bueno. Habiendo dicho que el personal era amable.

We had a coffe in costa.but we wasn't happy cause of the settings of the table and atmosphere.costa is my favourite place but the new branch in high street is awful, dirty staff dont clean the table .manager is not serious about the service in hole shop you can get aweful toilet smell .its absolutely redeculous. People comes here to have nice cuppa not to get stinky toilet smell which is very bsd and our next two table we look each other cause of the bad smell.they was very good when they was in brooks dhopping place now rubbish.not back again this place much better if we go to the next door.

If the toilets are anything to go by I wouldn't eat or drink in this place, staff didn't seem too fussed when I told them.....far too busy making money

I love Costa and always enjoy coming here for drinks. The food however has really gone down hill. I had a cheese, pesto and tomato panini. There was the tiniest shred of tomatoe, and it was so cheesy, that was all you could taste. It is already known to be over priced rubbish food anyway, but when the food is not as good as it sounds, it makes you feel very unsatisfied. Overall, I would always recommend the drinks, but definitely not the food.

Popped in for a coffee after a country walk and found a very warm welcome from the very friendly and helpful members of staff. Coffee was excellent and there was a varied selection of cakes and snacks.

Costa is a nice place with good coffee across from the Southampton Train Station and serves some nice munchies too. The bathroom needs a good cleaning regularly, so beware, but the coffee/tea and food are great.

Everything was fine. Until the manager came to inform us that it was closing. The closing time on the application was later than the actual closing time of he store. Once I asked the waiter about it. He responded with a mocking 'I am working here for three years and you come here once and know better than me?'. And once I tried to explain about the app, he kept mocking and subordinating me. I am a regular custor and I love Costa Coffee, but in this store, even though the manager was right about the time, he had terrible manners.

Didn't expect much just fancied a pastry and coffee for breakfast , no pastries at all!!!! 8am in morning, settled for toasted tea cake and a cappuccino .........coffee had odd taste to it , but I was in a hurry so just left, wish I had taken it back to be honest because they shouldn't be able to offer such poor service at those prices

I visit costa a fair bit and this one in 7 high street southampton as to be the worst I have been too,,It was looking very tired,run down and dirty,,I had the mis fortune of needing the toilet while there and it was disgusting with urine all over seat so didnt bother!! Had Latte to drink,,,the service was fast,,the coffee warm..

Day after Christmas so a little hectic. Lots of people, but the staff seemed to have everything under control.

Constant customer of this cafe. Friendly staff and quick, nice atmosphere good facilities clean and tidy in City Centre! Amazing

The Costa coffee in Winchester is awful! It was dirty with no signs of anyone cleaning it despite there being five to six members of staff in there, all of whom were behind the counter which wasn't necessary. The floor was dirty and wet - no mopping and no wet floor signs. My friend nearly slipped with a tray of hot drinks. The sofas are dirty as are to tops of them. It was cold and had been raining yet the cold air conditioning was on full blast. I asked an idle member of staff to switch it off or turn it down which lasted for a few minutes before going back on again. Vile place with vile service. Next time I'm going to Starbucks.

My friend wanted a coffee at Costa but as I'm not a fan of expensive cups of froth I said I would settle for a pot of tea which cost two pounds and was the worst tea I've ever had. The label said it was Twinnings breakfast tea. Being a person who likes a good strong cup I allowed it to stand for a couple of minutes, gave it a good stir and also squeezed the bag but all I seemed to have was very pale coloured water with no taste of tea at all. After repeating the stirring and sqeezing which didn't make any difference I asked if I could have another tea bag to put in. Unfortunately the 'Barrista' just gave me a fresh pot which I didn't want and it turned out to be even weaker than the first as the bag was just the 'Everyday' tea. It tasted really awful so I just had to leave it. Expensive rubbish!! Won't used Costa again.

It was a cold and very wet morning. Having travelled 70 miles to meet with friends this could not have been more welcome. Pleasant attentive staff fresh coffee with a war welcome. Great place to chill

I found the coffee to be lovely, the food to be tasty and the staff to be warm and friendly. It seems from other people's reviews that it may depend on when you go in as to whether the staff there are nice (maybe there's one or two particularly grumpy people who ruin the batch?). It is a shame, as everyone should work as a team when it comes to customer service, and for those who don't like making the customers happy, it is a pure and simple fact that no customers = no business, so they'd be out of a job if they don't pick up the slack...Regardless, I found the waitress bussing tables to be extremely friendly and interested in the customers. She had a short chat with me about my book before moving on to another table and asking how they were.For a new Costa, I have to agree somewhat with the seating and decor. There is a Costa Coffee in Southampton on the high street opposite Tesco Express which is comfortable and has friendly staff who serve you with a smile on their faces whether it is 7am or 4pm. The seating here is large, comfortable, high-backed sofas against the wall which you sink into, such a lovely thing to experience when you're still waking up in the morning. The smaller tables have fabric armchairs, and some tables have smaller sofa seated areas or your usual chairs and tables. Perhaps Winchester could take a leaf out of their book? It seems to me the stores are similar in size.

As locals we've been to most of the coffee shops in Winchester, many times and after visiting this branch of Costa for the fourth time I think I can safely say it will be our last. Service was slow at 9AM on a Saturday despite few customers, the coffee was made poorly but more than anything, the place is just dirty.This Costa was opened at it's current site last year and appears to have been designed by a child. A huge standard lamp in the corner surrounds several huge sofas which are filthy and so deep that to sit on them is a chore.With less than engaged staff, a badly made product in this particular branch and poor hygiene there are far better choices in town.

We went to Costa coffee in Winchester for a drink and something to eat after shopping and going for a walk on a Tuesday. What a mistake to choose this coffee shop over any of the many others. I sat down at a table with our baby while my husband queued with our three year old son. Service was very slow and he was queuing for a long time which is unsurprising. When he reached the till the order was placed with the young female manager but our son announced he was desperate for the loo. She was still taking payment from others so my husband told the manager that had taken his order that that he would be straight back. He was less than two minutes and rejoined where he left and waited for the drinks and to pay. The manager then ignored him repeatedly, serving more and more people and pretended he wasn't there for a long time. Totally taken aback and feeling awkward he moved to the back of the queue to reorder. I went over and said we should just leave. I let the manager know what I thought of her service as we left but she simply gave me a look like she didn't care at all. I hope an area manager reads this review and puts some more mature and caring staff into this coffee shop. However, I will not be returning.

we went here after our trip to the Cathedral Ice Rink got cancelled at last minute by winds??. Despite it being New Years Day and pouring with rain the staff were really friendly and chatty, despite us looking like we had been in a washing machine. It was quite busy but no probs with service speed and as I say very friendly.They were working hard to keep the floor dry at the front door to make it safe, despite the rains best efforts!The coffe was Costas std so not much to say there but if you like your Costa you are sorted here.

I have been to many Costa Coffee shops and had no problems in the past. This was my first visit to the one in High Street, Winchester (and last!) and should be avoided at all costs unless you enjoy the after effects - diarrhea and sickness! It is very dirty. I could not believe the number of flies I had to bat away whilst having a coffee and cake and this was a freezing cold day in December. The staff are very young and perhaps have not been educated in food hygiene. Until they clean up their act, go elsewhere, there are many other coffee shops in Winchester which are much cleaner.

When in winchester explore the side streets for lovely coffee and tea houses. . . .two mins walk down any side street and you will find little gems.Avoid the high street mass produced coffee. . .and you will even save a few pennies for home made cakes and goodies!!!Always queues. . .and an impersonal service. . .

The costa here if a fab little branch and its people are friendly. Very busy at times. But does a good hazel nut latte! :)

Costa Coffee places are not my favourite places to begin with and I only went in this one because the friends I was with went in there. We sat up the back on some big deep sofas and they were filthy. So that was the part of the cafe we could see. How clean are the parts we can't see, like the food prep areas? Would I go back? No.

This is a recently opened Costa's and it has very pleasant decor. We went in for a coffee and found that half the tables were occupied by people, no problem. The other half were occupied by piles of dirty crockery. Result we left and went over the road to Starbucks.

What you expect from costa only better. Pleasant staff consistent product. Good experience. They were even open even when everyone was snowed in and only 1 member of staff there. Well done. Great renovstion of a dated building.

the only thing wrong with costa is not enough staff,!! the place over all is clean, staff are friendly, But the tables need to be cleared away, so that the next customer can sit down, Was in on Saturday morning just before 9am, & already the tables had cups & plates left on them, with only 3 staff on, & the market in full swing along the high street, people were queueing up to be served yes they cleared the que, But not they tables.

This particular branch of Costa ranks as my overall favourite. There's always a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere and the staff are consistently friendly, professional & efficient.Tamsin the manager & her team are some of the nicest people around - they make you feel genuinely valued as a customer. I never feel pressured to leave & I stay a little longer to enjoy some 'ME' time reading the papers & enjoying the best coffee around.

You can always rely on Costa as the standard is uniform and one gets what it says on the Menu.The overall atmosphere good.I find that the coffee blend is stronger than that at one of its rivals Starbucks but I guess that is a matter of personal taste.I always try to pop in for my coffee fix rather than chance any other coffee shop.

Im cofee lover, so visit in Costa is always pleasure for me. Im usually go there with my family or friends, sometimes its a break in shooping time for me, all the products are lovely and staff as well. Just I want to say- it must be more clean, always before you want sit on table you clean. Its not acceptable.

Although there's already five other places to have coffee in bishop waltham and that doesn't include pubs or restaurants it is still managing to attract customers. Having been anti costa, i am no longer because of the wonderful friendly staff who are always nice. The cakes are delightful having already tryed lemon tart, brownie chocolate cupcake and granola. The coffee is good and having a costa card, you earn points so you can have that free coffee and cake eventually. The staff make this a better costa so i love popping in for a latte
