Costa Coffee in Doncaster

Sadly this branch has lost its battle with house flies. AST least they had put netting over the pastries counter but they were too numerous for us to enjoy the experience.

Spent a couple of hours wandering around the outlet village and decided to rest our feet at the Costa which is located at one end of the strip. Service was prompt and we sat at a table inside but I felt better attention could have been paid to the cleaning of tables and floor areas - there’s also tables and chairs outside but it was a cold and blustery day when we visited.

Shop was very busy Sunday 7th April at 12 noon only saw 3 staff all tables were full of dirty cups etc floor was disgusting also noticed large cobwebs on ceiling and on lights could do with a deep clean when we got up to leave our clothes felt damp to the touch we sat on the soft seating chairs near to the doors also air conditioning units are very dirty Will not be returning to this store until there are some vast improvements

My vehicle details was correct, staff stated they wasn't. I waited half hour for my 2 drinks. Staff said I hadn't I showed them when I makered myself arrived and offered proof from vehicle tracker. Was not impressed to be called a liar.

This used to be our favourite stop on a shopping trip, they continued to charge full price during the Covid reduction and the service is often very slow.

Called in for a coffee but decided to take them outside as the place seemed to have loads of meat flies buzzing around. Not pleasant at all! My coffee was ok but my husband said that his was pretty cool. Should have gone to Greggs and saved some money in the process!

I must say this Costa is not the best I have visited. Even though the place is clean tidy and looking fresh after a refurb it’s a shame the staff didn’t get training It’s lacking the personal touch in my eyes. The friendly warm welcomes like other branches. Probably will try the drive through or another coffee shop in future Seems they favourite the regular customers but anyone else you don’t stand a chance of politeness

Sunday Dec 26th, 14.00hrs. It seems to me that the management and several of the staff at this store have no respect for their customers. As is the national guidance, we donned our masks to enter the store only to find a large percentage of the Staff had NO face covering at all. Three of the staff were on the 'customer side' of the counter walking around. clearing tables, filling up the snack cabinet etc etc. When I asked one of the girls "why aren't you wearing a mask?" she said "we've been given 'options' and we dont have to wear a mask if we dont want to ! I think this shows a complete lack of courtesy and respect for their customers safety so I told her we have 'options' too and our option is to take our custom elsewhere. Its not that we dont enjoy a Costa coffee and snack but there are plenty of other Costa stores and Starbucks around where staff do wear masks and try their best to keep their customers as safe as can be - we'll use those stores in future :-)

Absolutely applaud the shop was discussing and flies were everywhere all over the mugs, in the cake cabinet. Food was left laying around on the back. Don’t think we have ever seen a Costa so bad.

popped in for coffee while shopping at lakeside , normal setup as many costa are but this one staff friendly and made the ordered quick, coffee was up to its usual standard and we drank outside so cannot comment on the cleanliness off in door seating

I like my coffee simple ... medium black and that is it. No milk alternative, no syrups, no different blend, just a medium black coffee. So I’m unsure why 50% of the time my order is delivered incorrectly. Today as an example .... ‘could I have a medium black coffee please?’ ‘Sure. One medium black coffee. Anything else?’ ‘No thank you’ I drive to the window, pay for my medium black coffee and am handed my coffee. I even ask directly, ‘can you confirm it’s black please?’ ‘Yes say. A medium black coffee’ And off I drive. 5 minutes later I grab my coffee for the first sip and guess what..... it’s a medium coffee but it’s white, not black. Most of the time I triple check the coffee when it’s handed over but today I didn’t as I was pushed for time. I just don’t get how this simple order can be delivered consistently incorrect. As I said at the start, over 50% of the time they get this wrong.

I'm disappointed to say the establishment is dirty. Needs a good thorough clean. As people left, there was no rush to clean tables. Also 2 staff at the counter had their masks under their nose.. as an nhs professional this concerns me. Please take better care of eachother. The air conditioning unit was pumping out cold air onto me whilst I enjoyed my drink and food... Small improvements could make the experience a lot better x

This branch of Costa is the most unpleasant one we have visited. The staff were abrupt & condescending, we asked for extra hot drinks that didn’t happen...all customers were treated like ‘Covid’ leper’s, we are all trying to give retailers our business but your practices at Lakeside need serious review....

Staff with no masks, one handling food with no cloves or tongs, sloppy service has to ask for sugar and napkins for the food

Rude staff, clever with attitude, one nearly got a thick lip, might have been the Manager, arrogant, if you don't want to be there then don't be in the industry, l understand Covid 19 makes things tougher, but paying customers buy service as well as consumables, terrible place, avoid at all cost, really disappointing.

The drinks and the food were great with no complaints at all. The hygiene also appeared good with tables being cleaned regularly, however the atmosphere in this branch felt quite stressed from the staff. Not the usual relexed atmosphere. It was all pleasant polite but just felt abit stressed

The drive thru was an utter disgrace, I can completely understand them making the wrong order, were only human, but to go and then make a hot chocolate and just put a scoop of choc powder in and hot water was beyond a joke. I’m pretty sure they use milk for their hot chocolates - mine tasted foul. Either lazy or incompetence, I’m not sure which. That and when you pay for cream and marshmallows and don’t get either, it’s a bit disappointing, this isn’t the first time I have been to this particular drive thru and the drinks have tasted disgusting. I won’t even get started on the half frozen panini. Won’t be going to this drive thru again. Sick of wasting money.

Just what you need after a morning shopping a lovely cup of coffee. The staff here are really nice and very friendly it's a lovely clean shop with plenty of seating inside and out.A great cup of coffee just what you expect in Costa.

Love to wind down with a coffee after a spot of shopping. We enjoyed a cappucino and americano. Plenty of seating and they ensure to keep tables cleareeld quickly. Lovely friendly staff and good service.

I support a girl who has down's syndrome but staff member Angie is always patient when she is ordering & paying for herself. Always has a smile & time for her & to ask how she is, no matter how busy. A very genuine and valuable member of staff with an outstanding level of customer service.. deserves a reward!

We sat outside as it was a lovely sunny afternoon. We had Earl Grey tea and carrot cake which tasted delicious. We sat outside for a good hour as it was just relaxing to watching the shoppers and just chill out after shopping.

Have to say that all of the team at this Costa are something special. Very pleasant all of the time and always look as if they’re really enjoying what they do. I would travel miles to visit this Costa any day of the week.

Really disappointed on my visit as, serving customers was really slow, i.e. waiting over ten minutes for 5 people in the queue. Didn't help that there was two members of staff and at the end of it wanted a cup of tea and they had run out of tea bags. How the frig do you run out of tea bags, really poor.

Popped into this Costa, first time as from out of town, the staff were very friendly, polite and gave me a free coffee as my Costa card and the scanner in the store weren't seeing eye to eye. Very pleasant, very grateful. I proceeded to sit outside in the seating area, in the beautiful sun, to take a work call and enjoy my coffee. Very pleasant indeed!

On a shopping visit to Lakeside Village started with a cuppa & cake. Drinks hot, service very good but bit of a queue. Carrot cake was beautiful & moist. Good visit with friendly staff.

Popped in for lunch. Coffee and were good but there were slot of tables that needed clearing and wiping. Only two staff serving so there was quite a wait in the queue to order. AC too cold.

From friendly staff, to comfortable seating and, of course, great coffee this is the best Costa I have been in for ages.

Nice place for a coffee and a cake or light snack. Seating is a bit limited inside, particularly as it is very busy. There are a few seats outside but it depends on the weather.

Always enjoy a decaf coffee with almond milk pity limited gluten fee options available would think they would have more

we are regular Costa customers but had not been in this branch before. The service was helpful and the coffee great but what was sold as a toasted Ham and cheese sandwich turned out to be two slices of dry white bread with a vague yellow stain representing the cheese, and the ham so thin it was transparent.

Nice and quiet, tables were clean and coffee was nice. Short staffed so had to wait to be served. Coffee was nice and hot.

Went to the drive through and found service to be excellent although it was late in the day so it wasn't that busy.

Lovely situated Costa and very friendly towards pets, which is ideal so close to the walk around the lake. Staff are friendly, polite and always seem to be happy to help the customers. Recommend

Went in with my wife and 4 month old daughter on Sunday afternoon. It was busy with limited seating but we ended up walking out as the tables are so tight it's impossible to get in when busy with a pushchair and there's no room next to any of the tables to park said pushchair.

Place was clean enough the staff were politewhen serving but I ordered a bacon roll with a flat white coffee ... got the bacon roll and was very very disappointed with the one tiny rash of bacon inside but what was there was nice just not enough and when spending nearly £3 you would expect a little bit more. Not sure I would revisit any time soon

Went for coffee with a friend. The service was excruciatingly slow, giving me the chance to see how filthy the counter tops were and count the flies buzzing around the counters and coffee machines. The floor of the public areas was also filthy. One man was attempting to wipe up spills on the counters with a cloth but the whole place had a air of people who didn’t care. Needless to say I won’t be going back, as judging from other reviews this is not a one-off.

Visited after football, no issues with drinks or food, although queue a bit slow as only one server.

Great location with good staff and a nice outside seating area, the inside has been reorganised provided a good level of seating, whilst the service cannot be described as fast the staff are always friendly and polite.

Went in for a some drinks with my family today, we ended up walking out without any drinks as staff (one particular member of staff) attitude was sooo bad!!

I am so glad I was kept waiting for my drinks today. It gave me time to see how disgustingly filthy the back of the counter is! There is an accumulation of coffee grounds, cake crumbs and other detritus that must have been there for weeks. The cake counter was dirty as well. When my iced drinks were served, they came on a soaking wet tray with my straws chucked on. I will not be returning, as what was meant to be a treat turned out to be a game of 'muck roulette'.

The customer service at this Costa leaves a lot to be desired! The staff are rude and don’t seem very enthused...very lack-lustre. As for the cleanliness...well it’s borderline disgusting. Got served tea in a teapot that was absolutely filthy. Stained in the spout, around the spout, all over the inside of the lid and inside the pot (see photos posted). When I returned it to the girl who served me I was told it was not dirty...just tea stained! Yes...from the previous time it was used! She raised her eyebrows and reluctantly replaced it. Low and behold, that pot was the same!! As for the outside seating area...it’s a case of having to clear a table/tables yourself to sit down anywhere because they had been neglected for what appeared to be a considerable amount of time. The embarrassing part to all this is...my friends wanted to go to Thornton’s Cafe nearby but I suggested Costa as I’m an advocate of the brand. Sadly, this branch lets the name down. I definitely won’t be returning.

Been to this Costa previously but not for a while. Called in for a cuppa and cake filler. Hot drinks were Costa's usual excellent standards. Carrot & Walnut cake was a full cake and lovely and moist when eaten. Staff friendly, attentive, fast service. Excellent visit.

Rude staff who didn’t seem to care or put much effort being enthusiastic when they made my coffee for me the other day

Handily placed with a nice addition of outdoor seating. However being served tea with dirty cups and an overly milky flat white this isn't the greatest Costa. Add to this the rather grubby toilets and you can see the results of leaving the place in the hands of very young employees. Not great.

Came with my daughter for a catch up coffee, had fruit and a raspberry cake. Very clean, toilets clean, the staff were very friendly, welcoming, and polite. Was served by katja, she was so nice and polite, and friendly, made our visit great. Come here quite a lot and the staff are always very polite and helpful, great variety on food, and nothing is too much for them. Lovely place

Stopped in for a coffee and cakes. Great quality Cappuccino combined with blueberry muffin and superb chocolate brownie. Staff friendly and attentive, atmosphere in Costa warm and welcoming.

Today 29/3/18 headed out for a ride on my scooter with the destination of this Costa coffee in mind.

Busy Saturday. (predictable on a wet Saturday) Understaffed, dirty, cramped - not a nice relaxing visit by any stretch of the imagination!

Visited Costa for a mid morning snack and hot drinks. The standards in this Costa are usually excellent and this visit was no exception. Toasties and drinks were piping hot. Service was excellent, served and delivered by Kain. Pleasant young man and smiling whilst serving. Excellent and enjoyable quick visit before the shopping done.

There are in fact two Costa Coffees here, I went to the drive through one but both have staffing issues. Far too many dirty tables at busy times and no staff to clear them.

Got a drive through Coffee, was far too hot n I spilt it on my jeans as it was full to the brim. Great. Shouldn't serve it boiling either!

Coffee was great. Toasted teacakes hot, but crumbs all over wobbly table. Had to wait ages in the queue, simply because not enough staff. Our table clearly hadn't been wiped before we sat there and I bet it wouldn't be afterwards. Not the fault of staff on duty but management issue. More staff needed!!

Drive through coffee as well as sitting inside is great.

This is a great coffee catch up place. Lovely seats, staff and okay prices. Great range of products and plenty of room for friends to catch up.

The coffee is good with a good atmosphere in the shop with daily newspapers provided so makes for a nice time out either morning or afternoon

Esta bastante recientemente inaugurado cafetería tiene un personal genial y, cuando llamamos a las 10. 45 de la mañana, no había cola! . Sirve que de costumbre, lo más costa coffee necesita ser dicho.

No volvería. Muchas superficies duras hacen de esta costa un almacén ruidoso. Demasiado ocupado, puerta abierta constantemente, mi esposa tuvo que poner su abrigo. Café y sándwich estaban bien, a nivel de la costa. Estaba limpio, sólo incómodo.

Fui a las 4. 30 el domingo. Este lugar cierra a las 5. Tres personas incluyendo el gerente eran cosas embalaje detrás del mostrador me ignoran totalmente y se quedó allí. Esperé 5 minutos y luego a la izquierda mis compras en el mostrador y salimos. Tan grosero en mi opinión. Si cierra a las 5 no empezar ignorando al cliente 30 minutos antes.

Always love it there. Always busy too. Great helpful staff. Gorgeous coffees and treats.and snacks. Definitely recommend it.

My first visit to Costa Coffee Lakeside unit. Mid morning cuppa was fairly busy when we arrived before the Lakeside Village Outlet fully opened. Service was efficient & excellent. Tea & Coffee were usual great, plus we had 2 lovely Bakewell Tarts.Good visit would return.

As always Costa is first for me when it comes to a good cup of coffee. Clean and comfortable. I love the muesli bars and caramel shortcake!

Why the person was charged with making coffee I don't know. I have never used the machine but I am sure I could do it quicker!!It wasn't busy but waited ages. Then they started making the person behind me their drinks. I asked why and got a fibble answer and they carried on!!Another team member asked what the problem was and then seemed to want an argument about it. She got one!!POOR!!!

The coffee is like any other Costa, but it takes a very long time to be served here. It doesn't matter what time or day if the week it is, you can expect a long wait. They have plenty of staff who are clearly working very hard, but it just takes ages.

Takes a while to get served, apart from that - it's okGood range of drinks but the food is rather over priced

Visiting on a Saturday afternoon they are obviously busy unfortunately no room for a push chair to sit and have a drink Inside, how ever ordering a cup of tea I was told there was no teapots and given the option to have hot water in a takeaway cup, this resulting in spilling hot water everywhere whilst pouring not great service from Costa.

I see so many average and poor coffee shops, not only Costas, so I thought it necessary to review one that provides a very good level of customer service. The shop is well run, with keen, enthusiastic staff who put in a genuine shift and do not treat customers as a minor inconvenience. One staff member, a tall lady with a pony tail, worked constantly at clearing the tables, including the outside ones, and this is something that's normally a shortfall in a busy Costa. The only negative about this shop was the ridiculous front door that bangs every single time a person enters or leaves. Unfortunately we sat inside toward the front of the shop and had this loud crash every few seconds. Management: spend some money and put this right, and while you're at it, fix the door so that your staff does not have to struggle to open the door with both hands holding a heavy tray of used crockery.

Of all the Costa venues this is my favourite - to people watch while enjoying an excellent coffee. The staff are always ready to adapt their product to your own taste.

Visited this Costa today 4th May, no queue, the place looked clean, coffee very good and the staff extremely pleasant and were extremely helpful, carrying our tray as the could see we had walking difficulties. Thank you girls.

I have been to this Costa Coffee and it is always busy and seems to take an age to get served and you would think that they would put more staff one. Overall the toasted sandwich and coffee was good and the staff were very helpful even though they were very busy.

Went to here meet friends whilst shopping at Lakeside.The queue was almost to the door and took a long time to move down.To be fair it was packed and staff were friendly and helpful whilst clearly working hard.The decor etc is standard Costa. It was generally fairly clean, especially given the huge number of customers. Tables etc were fine although as to be expected the floor was not.I ordered four coffees and when it came to my turn to have them made they were as ordered apart from the temperature. Each cup was made in turn from the filtering of the coffee, the heating of the milk and pouring into the cup. Needless to say by the time the fourth one was made the first was getting quite cool. I have raised this previously at other Costas but it is always the same.I once again suggest that more than one coffee is made at a time. There are clearly more than one position to filter the cup on the machine and the jugs are big enough for enough milk for more than one cup. So I can see no reason why it can't be done. The effect would be the coffee would be at a similar temperature for the cups ordered and it would be quicker.

The floor was filthy as you walked into the entrance the doormat looked like something that had been bought at a boot market. (I didn't see this until I left). The waitress took our order, the Belgian Chocolate Creamy Cooler we had to send back as it was tasteless. The machine used to make the coffee's was filthy and stained. The worktops were grimy. Tables were full of old trays and cups that no one had bothered to move. Tables needed a wipe. People were having to move trays from table to table, in order to be able to sit down and drink your coffee. The cups were old and in need of replacing. Won't be going back there. My husband went to the toilet and said is was disgustingly dirty. I opted to go to the Lakesides Customer Toilets instead. Manager made a scene because I asked for Cinnamon on top of my husbands coffee, makiing sure everyone else in the cue knew she was alergic to Cinnamon. Embarassing and not really professional in my opinon.

Been here three times in last two months and its always packed. Can't even get a seat. There are plenty outside but its been freezing or raining when I've been. When visited on previous occasions its just the normal costa coffee and food.

No different to any other Costa! Plenty of seating. Staff polite. Plenty of baked goods even though we were there late afternoon,

This branch of costa coffee islways busy, you get the usual quality of drinks & snacks, friendly & efficient staff

The facility has been renovated recently and is a comfortable coffee shop with plenty of tables and chairs including an outside area for the smokers and summer shoppers. The staff are excellent and the coffee menu is varied and good value.

its nice to sit and relax while having your fav drink the refit has been well thought out , the only downer is the Queif its to the door keep on shopping , and it dose put you off ...15 to 20 mins for a coffee, and if the Que is long just make sure your drink is hot..........

We sometimes visit this cafe whilst in Lakeside, either for a snack or a cuppa. The usual Costa standard, not too pricey

Typical Costa Coffee located in an outlet shopping centre. Can get very busy at peak times but well worth the wait.

Had a very nice panini but while I waited for it to be toasted I attempted a cup of tea. I prodded it poked it stirred it to try to get some decent colour in it. My panini arrived. ...still no good. ....finished it.....still no good. In desperation I put the milk in the pot ....still no change. RUBBISH TEA!!!!!Costa, you charge enough for a cuppa and I was told you charge 40p for an extra tea bag....Disgusting behaviour. GET SOME DECENT TEA BAGS PLEASE.

Newly refurbished Costa. It's always very busy and get really crowed at lunch times. The outdoor seating is very public and lacks charm or character as its a new shopping mall. The toilet facilities are limited. A good,tip,is,to'use the public facilities next door in the shopping mall. Very clean and well maintained.

Used plates and cups piled up in the store room for everyone to see.Door left wide open.There were enough staff to be upto date.Just low standards here.

This branch of Costa is a very bad reflection of the shopping complex. The walls are full of blotches of plaster, furniture has seen better days, loads of staff but, with blank starry eyes, not exactly friendly. The general purpose men/women/disabled toilet is filthy, smelly and in a bad state. The coffee is just about warm.

This coffee is so good. I love the service and the choice. Last time I was in (at the weekend) I tried the spiced apple but wasn't sure if I would like it. The staff said just come back if you don't we'll change it. Actually it was fantastic...will always return.

I visit Costa on a daily basis this one each time we go down to Lakeside Shopping Centre.It is a very busy cafe in the middle of the centre but the staff are always friendly and they serve the coffee as I like it.It's also a nice place to sit outside in the summer and watch the shoppers rush around.

I had the most awful and embarrassing experience of my life. Not only was I verbally abused by a member of staff, I was puplicly humiliated and made to feel increbible small. I wouldn't ever recommend you to visit this branch due to the hidious excuse for customer service. I had taken the first of my two trays to the table my friend was sitting out and out of the blue a rude staff member shouted me back saying 'this is not the ritz'. I looked at him with horror and shock and he replied at the top of his voice, 'what are you looking at?!". I honestly felt i was going to burst into tears and run out of the shop. The whole resteraunt turned and looked at me. No paying customer shoud be treated with such little respects and regard. I will never go to a Costa again...not the costa bava, not the costa del sol, not even the costa blanca. And the drinks costa lot too.

The one at the shopping outlet ( near Keepmoat ) as always, a pleasure.Staff, while busy always pleasant. Enjoy everything about this place.

We stopped here for a quick lunch and coffee. We had toasted cheese and tomato sandwich followed by banana cake and two flat white coffees. The service was quite quick as there were not many customers waiting. The sandwich was warmed and served. The sandwich was warm and OK but nothing special. The banana cake was very nice. The 2 flat whites were made one after the other. The effect was one quite cool, I could drink straight away, and another cooler. Despite not being full it was noisy and not conducive to a leisurely lunch. Why Costa staff cannot make two cups of coffee at the same time amazes me. They make one and put it on the tray and then start the second!

You got to love costa! I'm a serious coffee fanatic and love a deep strong double esspresso and only Costa get it right every time. I'd also recommended taking time to join the Costa club as its nice when once a month you receive an email detailing which coffee you've earned for free.
