Costa Coffee in Cheshire East

Coz Busy corner village coffee stop, but sadly neglected by staff. Floors filthy, see our photo, toilets also, we reported them

The team members who work here are so polite and lovely. American Lady stands out in particular in mind but everyone who works here couldn’t be more friendly and helpful. The tables are always being cleared and wiped regularly and it’s a relaxing atmosphere to sit in as well. Came in close to closing and they were more than happy to serve. Never had a bad experience in this Costa yet Thankyou all 👍

Disrespectful young lady serving behind the counter. Turns back on customers in a dismissive manner when giving change during payment for products.A very dismissive and frankly insolent unprofessional way of communicating with members of the public in a hospitality setting and certainly doesn't create a positive customer centred environment I personally haven't observed similar behaviour from any previous customer service assistants whilst visiting Costa coffee over the past few years around the UK. Quite a shocking level unprofessionalism.

Called in on 27/02/2023, didn’t stop long as it was cold inside as it was outside Inside looks fantastic from a recent refurbishment

Clean v v clean and prompt service and absolutely no negatives.Staff are friendly and happy to help.

Staff are plain rude and disrespectful no manners at all. Went in for a drink, terrible service and was not a welcoming environment.

A great welcome. A chain with a difference. Very clean. Excellent covid arrangements. Some lovely new chairs since our last visit. Blue badge parking.

Absolutely no sansitisation in place. In the 30 minutes we were there only 1 table cleaned. Out of use signs on tables just randomly moved and used. When stroppy member of staff informed me that she just heard the word 'food'when I ordered a muffin I said that maybe I should just remove my face mask like the teenage boys in front of me. She said that they couldn't do anything as they were not the police. That may be the case, but you CAN clean tables and enforce social distancing. Will not be returning.

Good covid arrangements. As good as ever. Quality coffee and cakes. Parking at the rear. Bluebadge spaces.

Staff are excellent and very friendly. Good parking facility. The food and drinks are standard Costa. The acoustics of the room are a problem. Very noisy when most of tables occupied. So I don’t recommend this as a venue if you want to meet up with friends for a chat.

I love this Costa .... Always clean, amazing staff, big and spacious and a beautiful village to be in. I hate Costas for the fact that they are always over crowded, need a good clean and generally overpriced for what it is especially when the venue isn't up to scratch but Holmes chapel have it all. Whatever you're doing guys keep it up because it works and let's face it you can't beat a Costa. My children love it too yet won't go in one anywhere else but here they will sit down and relax with some drinks and food 😁

Clean establishment, friendly efficient staff. Excellent quick pit stop for coffee and snack. I stop here regularly and the toilets/ facilities are always clean and well presented.

My wife and I popped in for lunch the other day. Had coffees and toasted sandwiches, all of which were hot and tasty. With efficient friendly service, and all tables promptly emptied and cleaned after use, what's not to like?

As previous reviewers have noted this is a superb spacious facility, with friendly staff, but decor is shabby and the cafe looks in need of TLC. The cafe has two plant troughs to the side of the ordering area- but all it had in it was bare soil. Clearly this is an important amenity for Holmes Chapel.

I really enjoyed this coffee shop. So much so that I skipped the hotel coffee and walked 15 minutes to this cafe. The staff was fun and cheerful and seemed to like their jobs. A very happy environment in such a quaint town.

I have never been a fan of places like this but while staying in Cranage recently thought we would try it, especially as the pub opposite was quite pricey just for a lunch time snack.My wife had a coffee and sandwich something like a BLT which was good and reasonably priced, I decided to take a chance on the hot chocolate, usually wherever I go they are made too dark and not enough milk, however it was made exactly how I asked, was perfect and really enjoyed it. Didn't have to keep going back asking for more milk to make it palatable once. My chicken Caesar wrap was also very good. I am therefore converted. Staff were helpful and friendly, clean toilets and Decor was fine, chairs were comfortable too.

Popped in on a visit to Holmes Chapel. As always, coffee was of the usual great quality that you expect along with different choices on offer. Good selection of sandwiches and pastries. Unfortunately the overall decor appears shabby and although toilet was clean, it would benefit from an upgrade

Called in on a Saturday afternoon and to our surprise the place was spotless throughout. A large venue which surprised me as it looks tiny from the front. Staff were really good and welcoming. Visit many Costa and this is one of the best

Costa makes quite enough money to repair a toilet. We come here quite often. It's a busy place. Over a month delay to repairing a toilet is unacceptable.

Staff looked way too stressed when I visited, 2.00 PM. Had Chai Latte but its was one of most un impressive coffee shop. Toilets were not clean... I would not recommend this place anymore...

I've been a customer here for years and I've never had a negative experience. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the café is huge and always clean, the bathrooms are always stocked, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. I can't say enough about how excellent the hot chocolates are!!

This costa store has really outdone itself I walked in and was instantly greeted by the most gorgeous curly haired blonde barista, he kindly recommend me a caramel hot chocolate which I was more than happy to try, the caramel really added something sweet to the hot drink. The store itself was lovely and pleasant but my biggest praise is the beautiful staff I thought I was in a Matalan modelling shoot the blonde haired boy (unfortunately I didn't get his name) was so easy on the eyes, wouldn't mind going to the Holmes chapel costa more often so hopefully I can grab his number and take him out for a drink or two

Can get very noisy when the toddler mum crowd are in. Typical Costa but staff efficient and it has a nice local meeting place vibe about it. Good to sit and watch the traffic stream through the village while taking your time over a mocha.

Relatively new and spacious. Free WiFi and areas to charge laptops. Staff are very friendly with a relaxed atmosphere. Used to be able to sit outside but no longer, would be nice to have this facility back.

Great Staff. Very welcoming. Good location with car park to rear. 4 Bluebadge spaces. Air con isn't very good. All on one level.

This is a large Costa for such a small town. The usual high standards apply. Friendly efficient staff and well laid out coffee shop. The only downside is that it only has a small car park which it shares with the other shops. All in all it's well worth a visit.

Este es uno de mis favoritos de costas, es enorme por dentro y muy cómodas. Yo a veces allí y dejar con seguridad ciclo mi bicicleta justo dentro de la puerta. Hay más que la mayoría de las tiendas de los inodoros también costa coffee.

Hoguera paramos aquí después de intentar llegar a Manchester desde el West Midlands. El personal era muy amable, servicial y interesado en nuestra difícil situación. Excelente servicio y agradable descubrir Holmes Chapel!

Good for snack with friends however overpriced food and drinks can put us off. We now tend to go to sainsburrys next door.

A group of us called in last week. It was very spacious and very clean. The staff were fantastic and are such an asset to the place, will definitely be going back there.

Large branch with a lot of seating, friendly staff and quick service. The staff spend their time serving customers efficiently rather than chatting unlike other branches of Costa so even if the queue is long, you won't be waiting that long.

With the m6 backlogged I was diverted through Holmes Chapel, needing a pit stop I spotted the costa. Plenty of parking at the rear of the shop. Very modern inside and served very quickly eve though it was busy.

Lots of choice of cakes even though it was late on a Saturday afternoon. Good choice of drinks. Staff friendly & helpful. Tables, chairs & floor needed cleaning. Noisy environment as the decor does not absorb noise of people chatting.

went for coffee and was nice to sit and have a chat with friends. not the cheapest but coffee is not cheap these days and think its aimed at a lot of younger people but all ages was in.. I am a coffee fan. Internet must of been to busy did not work on my phone

This place is great for meeting friends, loads of room and obviously good coffee. Cakes are delicious although their savoury selection is a bit disappointing. Staff at Holmes Chapel are always very friendly and have time for a chat.

Great atmosphere with lovely staff. I use this Costa a lot. Handy parking at the back. The cakes are delicious and so are the sandwiches and wraps.

I love this Costa, it is my favourite!! Would highly recommend, the staff are so friendly and always willing to help and they always make my drink right.

Poor slow service when not busy, no interest from the staff, no napkins and £16 for 2 small coffees and 2 panini's. Filthy tray that food and drink served on.

Probably the best and certainly the cleanest and best run Costa Coffee I've ever been to, a regular visitor, pleasant friendly staff and very good service

The lady serving us was great with the kids making our Christmas hot chocolate really special. Clean and tidy, will be back.

Great food bad prices nice food excelent quality food.Nice place to hang out with friends.But not with family good drinks as well.

All I will say is that the staff are rude and specially one blond girl make us shout our order from the other side of the shop and after we waited 20 mi for that we didn't get any kind of smile or "sorry for your waiting" will be nice. All I'm saying is we paid £9 for 3 coffees and didn't get any good service. We all have problems but not the customers need to know. Without customers there will be no one to pay their wages...

First of all, I would just like to say that I am not impressed with the way that I was dealt with when buying from this store. I would recommend that when Costa actually hires workers, it trains them in basic serving skills and knowledge of basic service laws. I was told by one worker (who also seemed about four years older at least than myself) that my £2 coin was a fake. It was not a fake. It was, in fact, a Scottish £2 coin, which I would have thought would be common knowledge that it is legal tender. This worker did not know the difference between Scottish and English money, and made me out to be a liar when I suggested that was what it was. To quote her upon recieving my coin, "there's no middle ring bit" and "the coin is too small to be a £2"... Alrighty then. /:IShe then changed her mind and said "it's not real, it's Scottish". Simply amazing. To my further amazement, I was then refused any other drinks on account of not having enough money, even though my money was clearly valid. And I was forced to go next door to sainsburys to buy a Starbucks cold drink, where, even more astonishingly, my money was accepted without the attitude and stupidity afforded by the staff at Costa. FYI, the Starbucks was better. It wasn't tainted by retardedness.

Very spacious and a good meeting place located close to the M6. Good parking to the rear and th usual Costa menu.

The continued sprawl of this chain is utterly disheartening; more of the same all over the country, squeezing individuality out of towns and villages all over the UK

I know what time you close, I don't really need telling 20 minutes before you close, I now cannot relax, feel that we have to hurry so you can close on time. Usually a good service the half dozen times we've been in, but it only takes one time to spoil it, now that's happened. It is a good store with usually pleasant staff, just telling you as it is.

Visited this Costa yesterday with my wife for a snack lunch. We both had hot paninis - chicken & chorizo and brie & bacon. Both were delicious. With a tasty lemon muffin and strawberry jam tart to follow, we were well satisfied. It's true that this is 'just' a standard Costa, so there's nothing unexpected, but the food is always good, the service efficient and friendly, and the place is comfortable, clean and welcoming. We've been before and will certainly go again.

This is a large Costa and it is very clean and friendly. It offers all the usual things you would find in a coffee chain. The staff are all friendly and helpful.

The usual Costa, bringing a nice additional to this area. Shares car park with Sainsburys Local and it is very convenient if you can find a space, as it is pretty small and busy. Nice clean place.

Only open a few months. Very modern, light, clean - a really nice place to relax, read and have a cup of coffee. Unlike the one in Knutsford which is awful and needs a complete revamp!

visited a newly opened shop in Holmes chapel coffee was excellent as usual the staff were friendly and helpful the place was clean and airy

This costa was much like any other costa but I just wanted to mention the friendly member of staff. He was very polite and cheerful which is just what you need on a Sunday morning

Good coffee and snacks, fast friendly service and I really enjoyed the visit. Will be going back, however I will probably be drinking Tea, which i really enjoy.

Personally i prefer Starbucks but i had to have one of these skud cups of coffee and i tell you now bby. its was skud. never going back there again. STARBUCK FOR PRESIDENT

Was like sitting in a school canteen, noisy bad mannered kids... No surprise judging by how many really bad parents there are these days.... Shame because the coffee was nice

I have been twice now. Within school hours it was a pleasant experience with a clean environment and friendly staff, however I then made the mistake of going after 3.30pm. All but one of the tables in a reasonably large costa were taken by school children, it was noisy, messy and there was a huge queue, needless to say I left and wouldn't consider returning to pay to sit in what was essentially a school cafeteria/ playground

I go to the costa coffee in Congleton the staff are pleasant and on a nice day you can sit out side the only down side is the toilet facilities they are good for disabled people and people in wheel chairs but I wish they had separate facilities for other users

As you would expect good coffee a nice snack and fast pleasant service, sorry but i think the chains are better service standards and generally cleaner than the private locals. My son went into a local cafe and was snapped at quick rude as she was mopping before closing she had not seen me. He,s tomorrows custom and he already will not go back.

I know Holmes Chapel is a small town (rapidly expanding with all the new homes being built) but this Costa has brought the village into the 21st Century. It's a large Costa which is very clean (but it is new) and the staff are always friendly. A girl called Liv serves us quite a lot and she has excellent customer service skills. I feel bad that it may be taking business away from the other lovely coffee shop around the corner but I literally have 20 mins for my lunch and need somewhere that I can get a brew that I can also take out and grab a panini or sandwich. Free wifi a bonus

Does holmes chapel really need a high street chain serving over priced homogenous food and drink when there is already local businesses serving home made produce to local customers? I gave this costa a go because they have late hours but walked into a soulless standard environment where whilst staff were friendly, they were clearly inexperienced and took an age to deliver the coffee. I think I will stick to supporting the local deli and coffee shop around the corner.

I always like Costa Coffee, good blends and staff are some of the friendliest, but its always the same (not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing!!!)
