Costa Coffee in New Forest

Me and a friend came here for a drink and both ordered caramel Frapé they came out watery and had a lot of coffee in. Me and my friend made it very clear we didn’t want coffee and when taking the drinks back I had a lot of rudeness coming from the server. He had told me I had 100% said I wanted coffee and that I should be more clear next time. I found this very disrespectful that I was blamed for a mistake I hadn’t made. We got our new drinks and they tasted purely of milk again watered down.

Be nice if the male member of staff ( who appeared to be a manager ) didn’t keep coughing into his hands before touching our cakes and coffees!! 😷🤢

Came in for a peaceful early morning coffee. Customers behaving impeccably but staff very loud and unprofessional. Manager was sitting in customer seats on his laptop and shouting back and forward from his seat to the till staff regarding stock levels etc. One particularly loud female staff behind the till who seemed keen everybody would hear what she was doing and saying. This is unfortunate as the coffee and decor are great but certainly gone downhill since recent new manager started.

Popped in to order a drink. Couldn't pay by card, cash only since the card system was down which is fair enough. Went to see if I had any cash on me, I was carrying two rucksacks on my back so moved to the side to look through it. The young man asked if I was ordering, I replied that I was just checking to see if I have cash. And his reply was 'we have a one way system' now if he had said this in a polite manner I wouldn't have thought anything of it and apologiesd if I had done something wrong but the barsista serving was very condescending with a bad attitude about it. Just walked straight back out as I felt very unwelcome. I know it's probably stressful job at times but doesn't mean you can't be polite.

i visit costa frequently, all over the place, popped in new milton store today at 1 for a snack and a latte. i have to say the 2 boys and 2 girls that were on duty (sorry didnt get names!) were brilliant, happy genuinely interested in chatting to you, happily chatting to each other, it was very busy being lunch time but they were on top of evertthing, cleaning tables ect. as i sat there every single person left with a smile on their face, really nice to see. well done def the a team on today

Poor service, run out of skimmed milk & correct size cups, tables not cleared. All in all a poor visit come on tighten up there are other outlets...

Terrible service, the barrister totally got the drinks order wrong. Said we could have the ordinary gingerbread latte even though we asked for the Xmas one, partner wanted a small latte and a medium one was served. So got stroppy cos had to make again.

A jolly nice cup of coffee, hot, milky and some top flavours served in a nice glass cup with complimentary sugar,

breakfast as well as for a coffee as its round the corner from me. Usually have newspapers to read in there as well with your coffee. They have a point collecting card scheme too. can get very busy so queue gets quite long.plenty of tables however. usually very happy with the food however on my last visit my friend spent £18 on breakfast for herself and her two children and they were most disappointed as to the quality, my cup of tea was also cold as was the toast when served to me.

The best offer taste I have found anywhere, and can actually get it made with soya milk. They have added sandwiches as well as cakes now so good all round

My mum and I went in this morning, I went up and ordered coffee and bacon roll, I went and sat down because they said they would bring the roll to me when cooked, 15 minutes later I still hadnt got my roll, I asked the women where it was and she responded saying I should of taken the roll go to the counter, I told her I wasn't told that. 5 minutes later she gave it to me by slamming it down on the table. I definitely wouldn't recommend this Costa.

We went there recently with my sister in law and mum in law. It was virtually empty when we went in, but the tables had crumbs on and the seats did too. There were a lot of cigarette butts outside. We bought 4 lattes, a pannini and a biscuit. Almost twenty pounds! 2 of us came out of there feeling VERY queasy. The toilets were not overly clean either. If you want a good choice and hot lattes, then go to Poppins.

Decaf coffee can be sometimes weak, this took the prize Couldn’t even taste the coffee The caramel was forgotten and when added was all that could be tasted I had a toasted sandwich and coffee here about 18 months ago and remembered it was just as bad and the toasted sandwich awful Will not be returning Thanks for another contributors top of an independent coffee house across the road!! 👍 Not sure what makes a good coffee but this was hideous

I have lived in the area for 2 years and watched this establishment slowly decline due to the the management disregarding the cleanliness of the toilets and the state of the seated area. Desperately in need of a major refurbishment. The one positive is the banter between the new Italian manager and the customers and staff, which has upgraded this Costa from the 1* that it deserves.

Ordered a large single bean roast latte. Only one shot and the coffee came from the same grinder as everyone else's. Huge mug but it tasted like watery milk because there was so little coffee in it. Accompanied by a croissant which was served cold and was dry as sawdust. No butter or jam. Would have complained but the service was so slow i gave up waiting. ....oh and the toilets were filthy. Avoid at all costs

I am quite a Costa fan, but having had two flat whites this week at the New Milton branch I am a little disappointed. No real coffee hit I expect. Not really any stronger than a latte. Need to up the game a bit!

OK this is positively the last time I go in this place, three staff all look like rabbits in the headlights of oncoming traffic, no reaction or comment from any single one of them to the frustration of customers or the visually growing queue.

Visited this Costa last Thursday for a business meeting. Service was polite and prompt - the venue was a good size and seating comfortable. Would use again.

Not a great experience AGAIN in here, staff slow (but then they all are) not particularly engaging or pleasant, You have to wait so long for them to make a cup of coffee you start to stare out the window, then they mumble under their breathe past the noise of their steam machine "Do you want milk mate?"

Use this Coffee shop on a regular basis, usually on a Sunday morning, have found the staff friendly and helpful.

Standard Costa overpriced coffee and cakes. Unless you must have your special fancy coffee the other local cafes provide better value and choice

Lovely costa branch. Had to come here as had been on the road and needed coffee and to charge my iPad. Coffee piping hot, toilets clean. It’s one of the bigger shops Ives been to.

Not only was I ignored on entering, the gentlemen behind me got served before me, the staff even looked past me to serve him! no apology, no acknowledgement. I normally enjoy Costa visits, I'll never visit again. Not that a large chain like Costa will particularly care. So very disappointed. Coffee was alright though, just a bitter after taste

A typical costa which has recently been refurbished. However, the constant music coming out of the speakers is so unnecessary. There are speakers in every corner unfortunately where the comfy seating is. People want either chat to each other, read a paper or go on their laptop and NOT have to listen to music that is not their choice! Really annoying for customers! Nice staff though but toilets are a bit smelly.

What a lovely place to while away some time over a nice drink in a comfy chair with a nice atmosphere. I've always liked this outlet since it opened but the refurbishment has stepped it up into the next league. Thank you.

Estábamos visitando el área y fuimos para un rápido café y tarta. El personal era amable y simpático, que llevaron a cabo nuestra bandeja de la mesa para nosotros. El americano fue muy buena y la tarta de chocolate que teníamos toque (algo como pastas danesas) era excelente.

Esta es una costa, así que no hay mucho que decir, el personal siempre parece amable. El loos son normalmente limpia y con regularidad a New Milton, yo a menudo pop.

Aquí nos pop de vez en cuando para un capuchino y una tarta. No es tan malo en precio y servicio bastante bueno también. Hay asientos fuera de lo que está bien para los días cálidos y los fumadores durante todo el año. Nada especial,...

Fue un error y un miembro del personal que respondió mal. Nos hicieron pagar un extra de 30 p en la tarjeta después de haber procesado la orden equivocada. La segunda vez fuimos recibí un café con leche muy aguados como la leche de soja había sido demasiado climatizada. Café de mi amigo sabía amargo porque la leche hervida. El personal no son bien entrenados. El wifi no funciona.

This is (or was) a bit of a bolt hole for me, I enjoy Costa but this was a parallel universe experience, the service is getting so slow in here it is a joke, its Coffee for flips sake, there were seven people hanging around the till area waiting for their coffees, it is embarrassing, it is difficult, it is unnecessary!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dropped into Costas on our way home from shopping. The place was fairly empty and service quite slow. Our coffee and chai were delicious and worth the wait. The raspberry and white chocolate muffin and the raspberry and almond bake were scrumptious. Will definitely be back.

Service was very good, staff very efficient, plenty of seating, very clean, coffee very good and good range of snacks.

This is the place for a good coffee. The service was friendly and the cup/glass size is generous. Great for a coffee and cake stop, good value.

I don't know what it is about Costa premises but they always seem so noisy and this is no exception. However, the coffee is good and there is plenty of seating. We visited as a group of friends having a get together and found ourselves struggling to hear each other from one end of the table to the other over the general hub bub of the place and the baristas making drinks (blenders, banging out coffee grinds, steam etc) which is all part of the shop but exacerbated by the acoustics of the room. We will all return though!

My husband and I are big fans of Costa and the staff here are always very polite and friendly. However, after my husband's visit today, he said 'never again'. It was full of screaming children, running around the cafe, their mothers too busy gossiping or on their mobiles.

Your above average Costa coffee shop has a nice front window that open in the warmer weather. Good place to sit and read the local paper. The lemon tarts and the bakewell tarts are scrumptious. Flat white is pretty good cappuccino has i think a bit more coffee (maybe).

I go here every morning with my brother and the staff are always welcoming and remember our order. Brilliant friendly staff and great coffee

I love costa coffee and this costa is a good one. The staff are always friendly and chatty, it's a large restaurant with an outside seating area.

I'll confess I'm a Costa fan generally but these guys really do a good job, the coffee is consistently great. Why not 5 stars? As with all Costas, the food is expensive and nothing special.

Typical of any Costa, friendly, fast service. Revisited many times and would be happy to recommend

Go here often and the staff make the place. Always willing to help and even when busy make time to ensure you're completely satisfied. Prices are the usual and same with the food in regards to what you'd expect at Costa.

We had visitors for the day and decided to have a walk to the high street as it was market day. After wandering the shops we decided to call in for a coffee. It was exactly as you would expect from this chain as far as quality. What made this a good visit was the friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness of the surroundings. Outdoor seating is available too, great for people watching. I will certainly go back.

Went for a coffee and cake warmish afternoon. But couldnt sit outside as too much litter etc around tables , nor could sit inside as air con on full therefore too cold!!

This is a perfect example of what you expect in a Costa. Usual good coffees and selection of snacks. There is a good sized seating area with additional seats outside.

I work from here for one day every two weeks on average and find it to be perfect!!I get great coffee, while having free strong WiFi (for VOIP calls) and power. I'm sure every Costa is the same to be honest, but this one works for me

Absolutely adore Costa Coffee & since this branch in New Milton has opened I can honestly say the coffee here is good! The staff, cleanliness of the branch, choice, seating & general area is always spot on. Think this may be one of the best branches I've been too & that's why I return lots & lots!

I like Costa, I like a massimo cappuccino, this is a pleasant enough place to sit recoup read, connect to internet whatever you want to do but I am getting a little irked about these guys with "Barista" emblazoned on their backs like they are Gods that are really really slow in making a coffee, its a coffee and if you are a professional then it should be quick and effortless...C'mon speed it up....

Some times slow service but food and drinks are great staff are kind friendly and pleasant always happy to help would recommend to anyone in the area

Stopped for a quick coffee and sandwich earlier today, although it was quite busy inside and outside with teenagers, we found we couldnt talk over the loud teens... difficult to have a business chat, so went elsewhere after coffee.Usually coffee is great, but not today, toilets were in abit of a state to, with loo roll over the floors in both bathrooms.cant say we will return

So slow! You have time to grow and roast your own coffee beans. Even when it is quiet it takes over ten minutes to get a coffee. Not the cleanest place and not the politest staff. I have given up going there although I have regularly used for a long time.

We like to go to Costa Coffee because we can always be sure of being served with delicious cappuccinos. We are never disappointed, as the coffees are of high quality and are served by very pleasant staff. There is a variety of sandwiches and cakes from which to choose, free newspapers and magazines to read, and also access to WiFi. Families are welcome and there are comfy sofas as well as more traditional tables and chairs. There is inside and outside seating at this popular cafe.

Thought I was a little harsh, so I went back today, and not over the moon, however a bit of an improvement. Still many nicer places close by.

Costa is just a Costa but for comfy surroundings and friendly staff you can't beat this one. The toilets are top notch too.

I am not a fan of chain coffee shops. In fact I try to avoid at all costs as I find them over prices and often lacking in atmosphere and individuality. However my husband likes them so I suffer occasionally! This Costa coffee is set out to the chains design with coffee I consider to be over priced. That is where the bad points end. The thing that shone in this store were the staff. From the managers down, all were cheerful, welcoming and interacted with out 2 year old toddler. They talked to us like long lost friends. They made us feel valued.The staff in this store obviously take a pride in customer service and should be used to train other shops.

This Costa is the best I have ever visited. I am always excited about returning. The staff and friendly. It is always clean and tidy. The coffee is always made well. Recommended!!

Plenty of seating in this Costa. Staff work hard to keep the coffee flowing. I've always found staff, efficient, friendly and premises clean.

Popped in after work with my daughter to try out the "new" summer drinks menu. I ordered a caramel latte coffee cooler and was presented with a small caramel latte (hot!). Instead of apologising for not listening (the guy was obviously in charge of training a new girl and was showing off rather a lot) he made a big deal out of the fact that he now had a drink for himself and proceeded to start drinking it! (Personally I think he should have had to pay for it but then Costa can afford it!) he then showed the new girl (who was very polite and happily went to get more ice when he told her to) how to make two of the runniest cooler drinks we have ever had. (My daughter had the berry fruit cooler). Sadly, I have to say, Caffe Nero staff training seems to go a lot further into delivering good customer care and projecting the professional image of their business than this particular Costa Coffee's does and what I witnessed today hasn't encouraged me to want to return.

As Usual a nice cup of Coffee at Costa,get`s very busy at weekend.location on main high street,can get noisy at times,but quieter inside.

This is one of the better Costa Coffee outlets. It has plenty of seating and quite spacious compared to some other outlets .The staff are pleasant and the Manageress seems to have everything under control.The Coffee and food are 1st class.

New Manageress ( Libby ) shipped in at great expense from the Saxon Square branch has made quite a change . She is outgoing and friendly , organises her troops well , has brought a real dynamism to the establishment and , best of all , makes a great cup of coffee ! Really nice staff, great service. 1 downfall would be their card machines have been down twice and people have left.

Initially on opening, service and quality/taste of coffee was very good. Dependable. Consistent. Manager then organized and controlled the establishment very well. Since his departure things have noticeably deteriorated. No sense of someone being truly in charge. Quality and taste of coffee varies from visit to visit, tables not cleared and cleaned quickly, supplies of sugar etc running out. The branch in SAXON SQUARE, CHRISTCHURCH has put the New Milton operation to shame for some considerable time. It used to be very good here. It could and should be again. Please, Bournemouth Coffee Company, sort the place out !

Always a happy site when I spot a Costa, new Milton Costa is friendly, but dies seem to run out of food quite often.

A bit overpriced for what it is, but a nice environment. I would expect better for such a good chain but is conveniently placed and good to get a quick cooler

Good friendly service, relaxing atmosphere, excellent coffee from the usual Costa range. Tables were promptly cleared and cleaned at this outlet, which is often not the case at such places.

A good location in New Milton with seating outside on the pavement, although set back from the road and on hot days the whole front opens up to create a very pleasant summery atmosphere. Staff are good and friendly, and make a nice cup of coffee. Prices for cakes etc are a bit steep but no difference there to any other Costa. There is wi-fi from The Cloud. All in all, a good place to sit and relax for a while.

Go to Costa Coffee on a daily basis, fair pricing, good quality drinks and food, always a lovely atmosphere. Never disappointed.
