Costa in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

It was raining so being as we were passing we popped in for some lunch. Didn't take too long to order but due to us and the staff wearing masks, the perspex screen and the coffee machine we could barely hear each other which was a pain but we got what we wanted and sat at a table. I had a mac and cheese pasta and it was very tasty; not a bad size either for the price. My partner had a ploughman's sandwich and a bucket of coffee; again, both nice. Service was ok, the staff seemed pleasant enough, food was good, toilets clean and the cafe quite tidy - all in all a decent enough place for lunch with no frills.

Staff member overzealous and overbearing regarding Covid 19 rules regarding my distance from another customer, who incidentally, had little concern for her own welfare or ours, I was wearing a mask and stood a little more than a metre (ok according to the .gov website guidelines) away from her when an officious order was barked at me, I won't lie, I challenged the remark, had the same attitude from the female again, I mentioned an area where the bottle of coke and coffee could be placed and left. I'm not a child and as a 53 year old, I expect to be spoken to with courtesy, the same courtesy that I was brought up to extend to all that I meet

Bought coffees here and voucher for friends. Would visit again. Staff helpfull and friendly when we asked about the voucher

Shame - staff were pleasant and cappuccino’s (dry) were ok but this outlet needs a refurb. Just looked tired, dated and a little grubby.We had intended to sit out on a little patio area at the rear (which overlooks the harbour) but it again just looked grubby and the open external stairs (which admittedly were not for customer use) had what looked likes years of accumulated litter.Not really up to Costa’s usual decor and standards, but maybe it’s flagged for an update - hope so!

Flat white arrived lukewarm. Colombian roast would have cost another 25 pence with no explanation of what would make it better.

Polite and accommodating staff. Great for a quick hot drink or to sit in all day and study. Lovely comfy sofas at the back overlooking the harbour, great place to get away from everything whilst enjoying a coffee and great views in the warmth.

Fantastic service. customer service was amazing. Listened to our needs and catered accordingly. Would recommend this place to others.

So it's a Costa which means the coffee is the same as all Costas, as is the food. But that's a good thing. The world needs more stability. And cake. Lots more cake. Grab a cuppa and a slice, sit in the window, and watch the world walk by.

Costas is what you would expect but this branch is looking tired and need some TLC. There is a small area to the rear overlooking the harbour but normally frequented by smokers. Not the worst but not the best

Our first visit since we arrived and was treated to great staff and a lovely view. A little taste if home but in a wonderful setting.

Called in for cappuccinos and sat at the rear of the cafe. Coffee was was the usual high standard that I'm used to. The glass door at the back leads out onto a small balcony with three tightly packed tables, but the view is very good as it looks out onto the harbour. The cafe is in need of some talc, the flooring and walls were dirty and the furniture was also in need of being replaced.

Appalling. Filthy tables not been cleared. Staff using the same tongs for cake and marshmallows. No saucers with our cups. Prep area for drinks also filthy. Staff member unable to remember the orders. Toilets filthy with toilet roll all over the floor.

We have had a few coffee's at Costa cafe with friends great after a few hours shopping to have a break & sit for coffee with cake & have a chat to catch up after shopping.....

Always stop for a Costa Coffee when we see one, have used this Costa before and it can be a bit hit or miss. Unfortunately, this time was a miss. Lots of empty tables to choose from, however, most had the remains of the previous customers drinks and food on them. We found one with only 3 coffee cups on it so chose this one to sit at. Whilst waiting to order, the staff kept on talking to each other about what hours they were working. It seems head office keep changing their hours of work. Also while waiting, a member of staff came in, went to the head of the queue and asked the Barista to make him a quick espresso. Finally ordered my wife's Latte and had it made. When I sat down she started to spoon out the froth from the coffee. She ended up with just half a glass full, I would have thought that Costa would train their staff to make a good cup every time. Service in this store has unfortunately gone downhill quite a lot.

As a self confessed lover of chocolate tea cakes, I was disappointed to see them banished from the Costa menu like a forgotten sock in a tumble dryer.

On holiday and we decided to have a good coffee, as my family love costa and we will walk to have one! Went in good first site: but little man who I can only presume as the manger had an attitude towards customer and staff, gave me and attitude while ordering my drinks which he took too long doing and they were not up to their standards! He also sent his staff away and did he drink himself, if he could cope with 2 small drink - how can he cope with at least 10 customer?

Needs a new manager. I use Costa all over the country and I'm sorry to say this place falls short. Coffee was fine, but tables were grubby, decor looked beaten up and the lack of smiles behind the counter said it all. Time someone took a hand.

Handy place to stop for a coffee but not one of the more welcoming costa's you can visit. Coffee made as requested, so that was good, staff do not seem to be very motivated or happy in their work.

Waited in a queue for over 15 minutes to be told at 11:01 I was too late for the 11 o'clock promotional offer. Very understaffed tables a mess, manager very arrogant and rude...

Went in for a drink and were attracted by the free wifi-sign. Thought we would give the kids some time to catch up on their social media.

I'm never exactly overwhelmed by the service at Costa in Falmouth. You can definitely get friendly service elsewhere, but I know how stressful this kind of work can be. However, last time I went in, as the barista was handing me my drink it spilt over the counter and onto the floor, almost going all over my fiance. It wasn't the whole drink, but it wasn't exactly a dribble, either, and he apologised for the spill but otherwise just ignored. Honestly I didn't want another one, because I didn't want to be wasteful, but I'm really surprised I wasn't offered one. It was a lindt hot chocolate, so very small, and spilling a bit of that is like a quarter of the drink! They really need to work on their service. Don't go there if you're looking for somewhere with a warm, nice atmosphere! That said, the other barista was really lovely and saved the situation with some good wit and thanking us. Unfortunately I didn't catch his name, but he was quite tall with dark hair. Thanks for saving the situation, that guy!

Normally stop in Costa for a coffee when Visiting Falmouth. Always sure of a warm greeting and friendly service, coffee very good as expected. Not so happy with the selection of cakes on offer, some are very small for the price being changed, also do not look very appealing. But as always, if you don't like it don't buy it, so I didn't. Possible change of cake supplier, they need to review this.

Whilst shopping in Falmouth we called into this Costa for a coffee break. Wherever you are you know that your coffee in Costa will always be good. Not disappointed, good service and good coffee.

visited this costa on sunday 30th October was ok been in better costas the dishes on the tables where left for around 20mins before being moved and it wasn't that busy food and drink ok.

I was presently surprised by this Costa, it was a cut above most in that the toilets were well maintained. The whole place was well looked after being both tidy and clean. The staff were friendly and attentive and the coffee was really good. A great example for most Costa branches to aspire to.

Only went in for a take away coffee which was very nice. They were very busy but the girl making the coffees certainly knew what she was doing and was very efficient. Good looked nice as well.

I love it here, the people are friendly, efficient and the coffee is wonderful, plus lots of cafes don't have toilets so definite plus point, and I usually try to get seat at back of cafe with view of harbour.

We went for a coffee in Costa as you would ! The staff were great and coffee was good also the cakes we had were very nice too.

In my honest opinion the Falmouth branch is the most friendly, helpful Costa we have in Cornwall. Always pleased to see you, always top service and the staff are brilliant. Yes it's "just a costa" but the Falmouth crew has the edge on any of em

One costa is much like another, but the Falmouth one is a great place for early risers as it's one of the first places to open in the morning. The end table has fabulous views of the harbour.

Costa serves great coffee, with a wide selection of choices, its a good places for families as they have a selection of kids toys to keep them entertained while you have your well earned coffee and cake. I would recommend a visit.
