We have been customers of the Coral Reef for over twenty years. In more recent times and since change of ownership, we have noticed a drop in food standards. After a few unhappy experiences, we decided to give it another chance. We have just bought lunch for ourselves and it was awful. Soggy fish batter, tasteless fish (which could not have been cod), tasteless chips, tasteless peas. Awful. Never again. The owners can not possibly have any thought for customer satisfaction.

Enjoyed our fish and chips from Coral Reef! Everything was hot and fresh. We didn't have to wait too long either. Portion sizes are good too. Happy to recommend.

Tried plenty of chippy in Crewe and Nantwich and these are far the best 👍

Order through deliveroo the quality is fantastic and the portion sizes are good, especially like the homemade tartare sauce and desserts and the haddock deserves a mention

Looking forward to my chippy tea from coral today. A normally good experience but for some reason todays fish was the worst I've ever had. The batter was thick and doughy. Hope this this is just a one off !

I contacted this chip shop to feed my 27 hungry Scouts, Explorers and Leaders as we were visiting Nantwich recently. Simon was extremely obliging and worked out a deal with my budget. When I collected the order it was hot and very very tasty. All the children ate everything and said how nice it was. The fish sticks were particularly nice with crispy batter and plenty of fish. Thank you Simon and your team, I'd recommend this place to anyone and if we visit the area again we'll definitely come back.

Usually every week I have a Kebab which my female partner collects for me. I have tried various food outlets over the years and have been going to Coral Reef since 1995. They are the best consistent quality friendly good portions ect. Last night I went off piste and had fish chips and curry sauce, we both did and the quality was excellent very tasty massive portions and value for money.

Wasn't expecting much from a typical chippy, but god damn. Bacon cheese burger tasted like it was fresh and not frozen. Great portions overall. Just got themselves a loyal customer! Hopefully standards dont drop. Simon seems like a cool guy, so say hi to Simon, haha.

Very nice but they are served in paper and the chips were mostly stuck to the paper when we got them home, be better if they were in a tray. Would have been 5 stars all round but for this.

Had fish and chips for the first time on Friday and they were delicious best ages. I haven't yet found a chippy in crewe I would go back to. These were piping hot fresh and very large portion evan though I had lunchtime special of chips a 3 fish strips there was far to much for me at £4.60....bargain. already planning to go back. My only criticism was the girl serving me wasn't paying me attention and instead was joking and laughing behind counter with the young man and I was trying to get her attention to order mushy peas but I didn't manage to get her attention so didn't get to order any. maybe next time she should pay more attention to the customer and not her colleague

Wow what’s happened to this place. Now called Welsh Row fryer, used to be really good but seems they’ve forgotten how to cook chips. So undercooked and soggy, stuck to the paper and half went in the bin. Won’t be going anymore.

The majority of staff are friendly but the food and speed of service is very hit and miss.

Raw cheese and onion pie that cost £3. Cold chips. I feel like I have wasted my money. I will never go here again. Avoid.

Use to love this place, however recently I witnessed that Beans mutt go in, the guy behind the counter fed him straight from his hand, stoked him, then did not wash his hands and carried on serving customers...no thank you, will not be returning and will be speaking to the local authority about this establishments hygiene rating

Love the food they serve here. Lovely chips. They do two types of curry sauce.1) ordinary, suitable for the elderly and,2) lovely and spicy and interesting. Both home made. But they ran out of no 2) on Sunday!!!!. NOOOOOOOO. ARHGHHHH. Flippin lookin forward to that over me chips. A sad end to a great night at Jazz n Blue's fest. P.S. got over it. Be back next year. You miss these treats during the Covid years.

This isn't the first time i have been here and not like the tone of the staff. I have lived in Nantwich all my life and i am 52 now. All the other owner's have been kind and polite. The people that run it now are just rude and the lady owner just shouts at you. There are 2 young girls that just stand behind the counter doing not much at all. I thought i would give it another go as not been for a long time. Never again. Still the same rudeness but by the husband as well tonight. Also got my order wrong. I ordered a small fish and it costed £4.20. Your telling me it was small i have seen bigger fish strips than what i got and you get 3 of them with chips for less. Would never go again. Stick your fish and chipshop

Best chippy in Nantwich by a long way!

Used to be my favourite, but recently the food has not been as fresh. Not sure if this is just down to my timing of visits.

This place is amazing! Their 10oz cheese and bacon burger is phenomenal, I had one in February and at least one a week since then. Their chef, Simon, is such a lovely guy and I've never seen anyone who puts as much care and attention into their work as this guy. He is going places, I tell ya

Delicious quality fish and chips, quick efficient, friendly. Nothing to beat it and a good thing they do are fish strips and chips for lunch for a cheaper price pocket and still delicious quality love are dear local chip shop!

Had a nice stroll into town and walked back with chips cheese and beans! Nom nom nom. Always generous portions and good well sourced produce.

I am difficult to impress, however, the Greek takeaway which we have just enjoyed was SO DELICIOUS that I am missing coronation street to pen this review. Please, please indulge yourself, I cannot recommend it enough. We had a variety of dishes and all were superb. Crispy chicken gyros, beautifully seasoned, fresh Greek salad, the MOST delectable moussaka. Don’t miss it.

If you like soggy batter and under cooked chips then this is your place! We spent £14 there yesterday and it went straight on our bird table. The crows have been enjoying it though, so maybe I'm wrong.

Have driven past this place for a long while despite living locally never sampled the Greek food - until tonight!... Gyros were plentiful and very tasty. Moussaka was huge and very authentic. Greek sausage and skewers again tasty. Despite it being a “chippy” the food tastes and looks authentic and a very good price (4 adults, 4 meals and loads left for £25) Can’t wait to have more!

Yesterday I ordered one large fish and chips and a chicken gyro. I had to wait 45 MINUTES, despite ringing up and preordering for a selected time. When I finally got the food, the food was tasteless and bland. I will not be returning, my stomach felt like utter sh*t

Brilliant ordered a sausage and chips and got 2 footlong sausages, 2 large chips, sauces, drinks.. Brill. All for 4 quid lol

Great fish & chips, superb greek food. Just had the Pork souvlaki, served with Greek salad, pitta bread and tzatziki and a good wedge of lemon. The staff are welcoming and extremely friendly. WELL DONE!

Having waited several minutes without so much as a glance or word from all 3 members of staff, I was then completely ignored after speaking to the owner. Not even a single gesture or flinch. I waited some more politely and gave up when I realised the two people in front of me in the queue had received the same treatment. Incredibly poor and, although I didn’t give them my money, if they pay as much attention to the food as the customers, it will be awful! Avoid.

Visited Friday 7th June about 18.30. The place was rammed with customers, which I find reassuring, plenty of staff behind the counter so was served quickly. Very tasty cod and chips with peas and gravy. Excellent!!

Always cooked nice and good sized portion

The new Greek menu is excellent but it has not taken anything away from the traditional fish and chips. Very busy at times due to its popularity so best to phone in your order. The moussaka is freshly cooked and rivals any that I've had in Greece.

The best Chip Shop in Nantwich by a Country Mile. Upon starting a new job in Nantwich I tested out all of the Chip Shops. None of them touch Coral Reef. The lunchtime deals they do cannot be ignored either and the fish is juicy with the batter not being overcooked.

Mr & Mrs Noti, have introduced a Greek menu to their usual fish and chips menu. It is delicious and they have the best homemade tzatziki in Nantwich! If you don’t want to wait 20 mins for it to be freshly made, call them first with your order. All the staff are really friendly every time we visit.

Extremely helpful and friendly staff here and the food is always 10/10! On a busy night it is well worth the wait, you know good things take time, would 100% recommend this chip shop, best chippy in Cheshire!
