Beautiful interior. The history and charm of this building is lovely. There are lots of shops, ice cream, coffee etc inside. It’s sort of just an indoor mall but with unique little shops.

This spot has many restaurants and nice little shops. The architecture inside is what I like the most. I could have walked around for hours to see all the little details. The spiral stairs were my favorite. We were there on a Tuesday before noon. Recommend checking opening times before heading here or many areas in Asheville.

Once called "the most elegant building in America", this is a visually stunning shopping arcade. It's worth wandering around just to enjoy the architecture, and you can take the elevator up a floor to where it's really quiet to enjoy the view from above as well. It's an incredibly impressive and well preserved building, and there was a nice range of shops and boutiques, including some great cake and coffee shops that were worth a stop.

This place absolutely a wonderful experience. The vendors were local, small businesses. They had unique good and services and of course a vested interest in catering to the customer. The bathrooms were clean, in fact the whole mall was clean. There's also a luxury apartment in the middle. I visited it twice during my stay in Asheville and will again when I comeback to Asheville.

Billed as the first mall in Asheville. Shops on first floor, business and co-working place on upper floors. Parking is pay on the street or find a free spot. There is a parking garage too. Plenty of food choices as well. Lots of locally owned places. Also vendors on the street as well.

Pretty disappointing and lackluster. The building is nice, but I can't really say it's that unique or special. The history of the place is neat, but it doesn't really make a visit worth it. The shops inside are very niche and will only appeal to very specific clientele.

My family visits Asheville frequently and we always stop by the Grove Arcade. The architecture is beautiful and the stores inside are really interesting and have a lot to offer. This time around we got to enjoy all the gorgeous Christmas decorations too! However, we had an experience with the security guard this time that left a bad taste in our mouth. When we were trying to get on the elevator to go to the 2nd floor to enjoy the view looking down onto the main floor, a security guard who was already in the elevator stood physically blocking us from getting in and told us the 2nd floor was just office spaces. We politely explained that we knew, and that our toddler enjoyed walking around the 2nd floor, but were met with a strangely passive aggressive stare and something along the lines of “fine, I guess.” He did eventually move aside and let us get on the elevator with him, but we were left wondering if we were doing something wrong by wanting to go upstairs. We left after a short period of time, feeling unwelcome. If there is a policy about limiting 2nd floor access, it should be clearly posted— if no such thing exists, visitors should be allowed to explore the building without being unnecessarily profiled. That being said, I strongly recommend everyone visiting the Grove Arcade to check out the view from the 2nd floor!

Beautiful shopping mall with beautiful architecture. The shopping mall is very small with few shops, but the place looks beautiful. Not much to do in the mall, there are no major flagship stores, but the mall looks wonderful. There are cafes and some specialty stores around the mall, but that’s it. The area around the mall is enjoyable for walking. Parking around the mall isn’t free, and the space is quite difficult to find, even in weekdays.

The architecture was beautiful but the overall experience was underwhelming. I visited here based on the brochure found at the visitors center. Hours published were 10am-8pm and the outdoor Makers Market from 10am-7pm. I arrived at 4pm and ONE store and a brewery were the only stores open. There was no place to even buy a bottle of water. The outdoor Makers Market was closed up. The restrooms were closed to keep the homeless from lounging there. This was an overall bad experience. You should go with the idea of enjoying the architecture and forget the rest.

While the building is gorgeous, it’s definitely over hyped. We came to Grove Arcade on a Tuesday afternoon to kill some time between lunch and dinner. There was hardly anything open and it was 2 PM on a Tuesday.. champagne bar was closed, Asheville Proper was closed, coffee shop was closed… it’s also 50/50 retail and restaurants to office space so there’s actually not much to do in the arcade. I was disappointed… online this place looks like you have lots of options and ways to kill time but we walked through in all of five minutes and was unimpressed. As someone who works in business, I suggest bringing on tenants that are open for most of the day and businesses that stay open… it’s not really an arcade when everything is closed or when it’s all offices for businesses. Overall, this is a waste of a really cool space.

Absolutely shocking service. Ordered to be delivered, estimated delivery was 11:15. It’s now over an hour late and when I rang up to cancel the order as the food will be cold be the time it gets here I was told I can not cancel and that it’s not their problem. I was shouted at down the phone from a woman with a terrible attitude. She blamed me and said that I was in the wrong for assuming my food should be on the way. Safe to say I won’t be ordering from here again and will go somewhere else.

The building itself is beautiful and I really enjoyed walking through it but there were very few shops open both times I went. The shops I was able to explore were high end goods, with very unique or handmade merchandise. They have public restrooms available to the public so if you are exploring the downtown portion of Ashville and need a place to go this is an option. The architecture is gorgeous, it was just sad to see how empty it was. Most likely a product if covid.

I've always come here for very special events and occasions - it's a great venue for shopping, dining and social gatherings, just as it was from the very beginning when it was constructed during the Roaring Twenties. It is also a grand monument of our hometown's heritage, despite the fact that the skyscraper portion was never built as originally envisioned. Even if the top part doesn't see the light of day in the future, I hope the Grove Arcade as it is now still stands for future generations to visit and treasure.

My husband and I popped in to this cafe at lunch time in the week to get two meals. We sat upstairs which was simply set up but seemed relatively clean and nice.My husband’s meal was chicken curry with chips and rice but when it arrived the chicken was cold. They were very apologetic and reheated it for him, even refunding part of our meal as a goodwill gesture. Although the curry was made out to be their ‘special’ of the day and something unique to the restaurant, my husband found no vegetables in it and barely any flavour apart from just the heat of the curry. My meal of jacket potato with baked beans, cheese and sausage was alright and filled me up, but the sausages were flat in half and very cheap and the salad was just cabbage and carrot with a tiny bit of tomato. Our drinks were cheaply made but decent in price. The staff were very nice and helpful, so it’s a real shame the food didn’t meet the same great standard they showed in service.

They have definitely forgotten how important customers are. Being ‘almost’ the only Chinese takeaway away in the area is not an excuse for not showing appreciation of customers. The food is quite good but service is certainly lacking. That they refuse to take electronic payments is the absolute proof of this. Electronic banking payments add less than 1% to their operating costs. When a business is taking over £3,000 per night and they can’t handle a 1% charge, either the business is badly run or is greedy.
