Great food, generous portions and lovely quality.

Had the beef rib burger for lunch with truffle fries on a weekday. Excellent service, location and atmosphere. Food was definitely worth the wait and super fresh. Really pleased and will visit again!

I booked a table online for two of us to grab a bite to eat before going to see a concert at the Royal concert hall nearby. When we arrived there were a few customers in but had to wait nearly 10 mins before seeing a member of staff to find out where our table was. The young lady was pleasant enough and told us to sit anywhere we wanted. She gave us two menus and said she would be back shortly to get our orders. After waiting nearly 15 mins and realising time was going we decided we couldn’t wait any longer, if it took this long to take our order how long would the food have taken? When couldn’t find anyone to tell that we were leaving due to time constraints. It appeared that there was only one member of staff on duty, who was working the bar and taking food orders at customers tables. Will not bother trying to eat at Copper again before seeing a concert as this experience has put us off. It’s a shame because the food sounded nice on the menu and it’s so handy for the Royal Centre! Disappointed to poor service!

Great place for brunch/lunch. Good coffee and delicious Eggs Florentine. Attractive interior and comfy chairs.

I hired their private room for a birthday party. The service was great, they responded promptly when enquiring about the venue, they had good communication and the actual staff on the day were super helpful. I was able to come early to decorate, they made sure they had drinks in specific for my guests and that all went well on the day. I would defo recommend.

Great for drinks, very convenient right opposite the Theatre Royal. Staff are very friendly staff and good cocktails.

The food quality has gone down massively in the last year or so. Still, I could overlook that, if it wasn't for the attitude of the staff and the total lack of service. The servers just chat to each other and don't pay attention to you being there - or totally forget about you even if they did approach you once. You end up waiting at your table for ages hoping they'll remember they're at work and there are people waiting. But don't hold your breath expecting service, you'll have to pick up your own menu or go to the bar to order because no one will show up at the table for ages. This has happened on multiple occasions so my review is not based on a one-off event. Five years ago this was a place I enjoyed coming to, but not only are they not keeping up with the competition, they've just gone downhill so much that way better places can be found elsewhere in town

Great service from Cole My chicken souvlaki was a bit spongy / slimy but apparently the chef says that’s how it’s supposed to be whenever anyone has mentioned it before - I would avoid….

Went for a pre theatre lunch. Quite a nice venue - food generally fine. One person had the chicken skewers, and some pieces of chicken were not cooked properly. To be fair they took it off the bill but the chef came up with some ridiculous explanation saying it was cooked but vessels had burst in the flesh making it look pink! We've all cooked many chickens and know when it's not cooked- should have just held their hands up and admitted it!

I probably got them on a bad Thursday night. The staff were absolutely fine, but the wait for food and the food itself were way below what you'd expect.

This is the worst meal I’ve ever had. First of all we wanted to order fish & chips but they had run out!!! I ordered caeser salad which wasn’t great and my friend ordered the flat steak, when it finally arrived the chips were cold and steak tough. If we’d have had more time we wouldn’t have ordered anything and gone somewhere else as the menu is very poor. We did complain and the steak was removed from the bill but it ruined the meal. When I booked I was looking for a restaurant near to the theatre but wish we walked a bit further. The waitresses were nice and obviously very stressed.

We recently visited for a pre theatre meal on a very cold evening. Because my wife has difficulty on stairs we asked not to be seated up stairs. The restaurant was quite busy and felt nice as we walked in. The down stairs however was very cold. We noticed that there was a small heater on the floor which we asked to be put on. We had to keep our coats on during the meal as the heater (which was placed on our table) through very little heat out. The meal which we had was quite nice but the experience was spoiled by the lack of heat. There appeared to be a proper heater in the room which wasn’t working. When we moved back up stairs to pay the temperature in the restaurant was lovely. We vowed not to return again; in the winter!

We stopped here for breakfast on the way to the train station for a 2 hour ride to Leeds.

Service was great today. Our first time, and we were very pleased. We were upstairs so it was a bit quieter. Downstairs there was going to be a live singer as we were leaving. Food was good. Linguini and fish and chips, great!

Table booked for 5.30pm to ensure we could enjoy a meal ahead of a 7.30pm theatre show. We arrived early and were seated with only one other group ready to dine. We ordered a bottle of wine and by the time the wine was brought over we informed the server we were ready to order. We sat and watched the restaurant fill up and multiple tables were served their food ahead of us. After several requests we were finally brought our meals at 6.40pm, within minutes of telling the staff that we had waited over an hour. The food was average at best and no apology was offered, the staff were audacious enough to present the food with a poor attitude. It was clear to all that we had been overlooked despite being one of the first groups in the restaurant. The service charge was removed from our bill by staff without this being requested but we were still offered no explanation for the delay or an apology. Very disappointing start to our evening.

Lovely service and food. Went there for breakfast with my Son. He had the pancakes with bacon, which he thoroughly enjoyed. I had the Eggs Royale with perfectly poached eggs and delicious smoked Salmon. The only criticism, it was very cold in there. Please keep the heating on, it's January. Staff were lovely and we'll definitely be going back, when its warmer.

I've been hosting ceilidhs in the restaurant throughout January 2025, as pop up ceilidhs and Burns night. Adam and the team have been superb, very friendly; welcoming the dancers and encouraging those who we just out for drinks to join in. Superb.

Visited here October 2024 for breakfast, staff were great, we were greeted by Evie who informed us the kitchen wasn't open yet but got us seated and brought drinks, then took food order when they were ready. Also chatted with the (owner? I'm sorry his name escapes me), very pleasant and welcoming visit and food was great. enjoyed our visit here.

We visited on a Sunday afternoon, the place was empty. One pint please and a medium white wine - £14.55 the bar lady said . Keep that I said , I ain’t paying £9.00 for a 175 glass of a bottle of wine that I can buy at £3. No wonder the place was dead. Owners wife must need a new fur coat …..absolute shocking rip off. We left leaving the bar lady pouring the wine back into the bottle and the beer down the sink. Smart .

I’d say book in advance if you can, it’s so great that it gets super busy, and it’s always going to be with such fabulous friendly staff! Both the manager and front of house Eddie remembered us from previous visits and made us so welcome. They have terrific food choices and a huge selection of coffee’s, beers, wines etc. Copper city has a vibrant atmosphere And the decor is very appealing so much so that it attracts a varied age group.

What a great pub, with fantastic food and service. Hired out the venue for the afternoon and the atmosphere was great. Jadie was fantastic and the team looked after all our needs. Well done to the whole team.

We had a great time at Copper celebrating our Christmas Meal. The only let down was the vegetarian man course. Everything else was fabulous.

Visited recently on Thursday the 31st and was served by Louisa, she was absolutely amazing. When visiting bars now you don't expect the hospitality we recieved, she is an absolute asset to the company! Hoping she recieved the recognition she deserves for her hard work and great barmanship.

Met a friend at Nottingham branch 19 October 2024, glad I booked a table as it was busy. Dispite it being busy we did not have wait to long before member of staff brought us menues. We ate of the brakefast menue and did not have wait too long for food. I had eggs Royal it was really nice.

Very well looked after, excellent service - friendly and efficient. Perfect for pre-concert at the Theatre Royal. Would recommend and revisit.

We went to Copper City o. 19-10-24 and we went for lunch. I have to say that we had a lovely time and the food was exceptional, the staff was really friendly and the atmosphere was excellent. If you want a great place to eat in Nottingham, put Copper City on your list

We have been here a few times but this time we found the service quite slow due to there not being enough staff. The menue seemed quite limited too. Saying that we all had fish and chips which was lovely and hot.

I have always walked past this place and never knew it was a redcat company. I was served by a young girl, which she was very welcoming the name JD, say no more lol. Thank you for the experience and the amazing cocktails. Hope to visit again and spend more time there including eating.

I was disappointed. I have been to copper city before and had a lovely experience, so I rebooked for my graduation. To make this booking I had to enquire and it was unclear if that time was available. After all of this faff trying to book, when we arrived nobody took my name and I was told to “sit anywhere” in the bar. When I tried to explain that I had booked a table I was still not asked my name but taken to a corner table right at the back upstairs where nobody else was seated. Our drinks and food took ages to come and when it did come we had to wait further for cutlery. The service was shocking and I was very disappointed by the experience.

Arrived at the restaurant having booked a table only to be told they hadn't got the booking found us a table food came ok took the edge of our visit to see our granddaughter in a show at the theatre Royal

Group of us had pre theatre meal on 12/7/24, food and service both excellent just let down a bit by poor choice of draught beers. The entertainment was a laugh, a loud man preaching fire and brimstone who was quickly ejected before any damage was done. Will visit again.

The food was ok, the service was very good and friendly. The toilet area, although clean, smells absolutely dreadful, it really lets the place down. I couldn’t actually recommend it.

I had my daughters 18th birthday party here in the function room. Large party for sit down meal and the staff were absolutely amazing. Friendly, helpful and fun. Made the night go smoothly. Thank you, would definitely use this venue again.

The food was nice, the restaurant took on far too many bookings for the minimal staffing and kitchen capacity meaning a long wait for the food and forgotten items. The 2 staff that were on worked tirelessly but should have had much more support. The bar was scruffy as no one to clear glasses.

Excellent food, superb steak and mushroom pie with well cooked chunky chips and a good gravy. Waitress was very polite and pleasant. Venue a bit noisy but probably partly due to the design/layout. Discount for having a ticket to a Theatre Royal or Concert Hall performance ( the same day ) greatly appreciated

It is a place that can be preferred for breakfast, after going once, we went again because we found the breakfast good. It definitely has a good place among the places to have breakfast in Nottingham city center. But it is very difficult to say the same thing about the service quality. Even though it was empty, the waiters were not interested in talking to each other, we had to get up and go to them when they were not seen even after making waves, this happened to us both times we went. It has a very nice atmosphere and a quality appearance. If the service problem is fixed, it will be a much more recommendable place.

Not open when it was supposed to be and person working inside ignored me and two other potential customers.

I thought this might be a bit pretentious and pricey but I was so wrong. Three mains, 1 coffee and 1 nonalcoholic beer was £45 and some change. The beef and mushroom pie with red wine sauce was without doubt the best I ever had.

I was thrilled to find a local bar that serves a proper Guinness. It was 95% of the way to the taste of a real Irish pint. The best Guinness I've had in the UK by far. Service was friendly and prompt, with the food reasonable for such a city center location. Would wholeheartedly recommend.

Dreadful service. The blonde waitress soooo unhelpful and a face so sour!!!! Booked upstairs but 3 children screaming and running around making so much noise. Asked blondey to deal with it but was told no. Ended up eating downstairs to then be told there's no pork on the roast menu ( even though we'd booked and said we were booking for roast dinner) and 2 wines off the list!!!! Said it had been a busy weekend. Made our whole dining experience very unpleasant and won't book.again. Poor show Copper...used you many times but this was disgraceful customer service.

We hired the private room for a hen do and we were extremely impressed. Lizzie was absolutely fantastic behind the bar. The team were really helpful and attentive. The food they provided was delicious and reasonably priced. They catered for all of our needs - they had a TV that we could connect to as well as a sound sytem. I would 100% recommend. Thank you!

Unfortunately didn’t get service today. I was sat for 20 minutes and nobody came to serve me. I would have gotten up to remind someone I was here but there was a server serving the table right behind me so I just left instead. I wanted to give this feedback because as a long time server myself I totally understand tables can hide and get forgotten about (especially on a busy Saturday) but the other servers walking around seating and serving others could have easily come by or told whoever was supposed to be serving me that I was there. This communication is crucial in a restaurant because this kind of stuff happens. As a person, it doesn’t feel good to be ignored.

I visited Copper City yesterday for a staff / team meeting. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. I had the chicken and bacon club sandwich which was delicious and very filling. Would highly recommend and visit again if in the area.

Fantastic service from start to finish. Rebecca was a fabulous host and couldn’t do enough to make us feel comfortable happy with our visit. The new manager Chris also greeted us and was great. We had eggs royal and a veggie breakfast which was delicious.

Best Pancakes and Smashed Avocado on toast in town!! My favourite breakfast place in town, last summer I was there pretty much every weekend!. Great coffee and really tasty food including veggie options.

Cold! It's true it is 5 degrees outside but thought it might be a little warmer inside! Notice on the door, no kitchen today (maybe the chef didn't like the cold) 5 beers had run out , awaiting a delivery....it's wednesday surely they'd restocked since the weekend...... All in all this place had the look, drink availability and warmth of a bar on the verge of closing down....sad if it's true....

Having eaten at Copper several times on previous visits to Nottingham I was really looking forwards to it on my birthday after visiting the Christmas market. What a disappointing visit. My wife’s food was tepid and whilst the rest of the food was nice the service was very poor. No one came to the table to see if our food was ok, to see if we wanted a second drink or to see if we wanted deserts. We did want deserts so we could wish me happy birthday with a sparkler or a candle which my wife had brought. We had to queue at the bar to be able to pay the bill so we could leave. On future trips to Nottingham I will find a new place to eat.

I don't usually leave bad reviews but it seemed appropriate to do so on this occasion. I was with my mother visiting Nottingham, on Saturday afternoon, when we decided to eat at Copper's. Having been there several times, I wanted my mother to have a good experience too. The manager very nicely, made us sit upstairs where we were welcomed by a blonde waitress who from the moment she laid eyes on us, gave us nothing but a weird hostile. We ordered two sandwiches (they were great by the way) but for my mum the portion was a little too much. I very kindly asked the waitress if we could take away half of the remaining sandwich. When it comes to a take away, we certainly did not expect it to be put in a gift box with a thank you note. But we also did not expect the waitress to place on our table an industrial cling film roll and a bag, so that we could wrap the sandwich ourselves, in front of the other speechless customers. That was an absolutely unacceptable and unprofessional. I do understand customer service can be challenging and pleasing every single customer is impossible. Having said that, eating out should be the time for a customer to be treated nicely and feeling welcomed. All we felt was that we were intruding and disturbing. I will not visit Copper's again nor recommend it to others. I just hope this waitress will deliver a better service so you don't lose more customers

Best Coffee Service in Nottingham.

We were very cold, we were placed in a lower room near a roof heater which wasn't working & when we asked for some warmth we were told it was dodgy. Our meals were good, delicious chips! The service was prompt. However our visit was spoiled by the cold temperature, we won't come again.

Good food at reasonable prices nice sort of gastro pub vibe. Service was a bit slow but the waitress was pleasent enough. If you're going there to catch up with a friend and have a natter the pace might suit you.

Terrrible service. Person late opening up not bothered about customer. Food only just warm. Wouldn't return. Just one lady nice and helpful the one with blonde hair. She seemed to be doing all the work. We dined Sunday 26th November for breakfast.

Ordered a oat coffee as I have dairy intolerance, and the people I was with ordered regular coffees. Our waitress told us the wrong one was oat, and then brought the oat one 5 minutes later. I had to pay extra for my milk substitution. Food was ok, it looked pretty but I felt that it was a bit expensive and was slightly bland. I had the eggs royale which was around £13-14 and I would not get it again. The atmosphere is nice, the bar is nicely decorated and the tables are nice. The toilets smell very fishy and strange. I would go here for coffee again but it would not be my first choice.

Staff are lovely with knowledge of local areas. The food was amazing, and the actual place looks amazing. Chill music (no lift music) made me feel welcome. Would reccomend
