the chips used to be really nice...but now they are dry,horrible and to be avoided at all costs.thats a real shame because although a bit pricey now,the rest of the food i think is nice. SORT OUT YOUR CHIPS!!!

Strong contender for worst Chinese in Portsmouth. Went There and got a meal for one with chips and I barely ate any of it because the food was bland and absolutely tasteless. Like others have mentioned already, the chips have absolutely no flavour and are dry/tasteless with no seasoning whatsoever. The other food was very bland and watery. Avoid this place as there are much better, Chinese/chippys in Portsmouth!

Used to love copnor takeaway, I don't know what has happened? Chips r like oven chips they r defo not chippy chips and u only get a small handful. My cod was predominantly batter with very little actual fish. The battery was crispy on the outside but dripping yellow oil in the middle. The battered sausage was greasy and the fishcakes soggy. End of an era, we will not be ordering from here again. So disappointing

Now I order from them all the time but my latest order 28th March 2024 was absolutely disgusting the special chow main was really stoggy the chips were cooked about 3 times in very old oil and dry the 10 pork balls were all overcooked the sweet and sour sauce was really vile I think they have changed the chef because my order £48 was thrown in the bin where it belongs never use this place be warned its disgusting but they really don't care because there will always be another victim for them to sell this disgusting food to but not me ever enjoy this garbage

The food was pretty bad, very bland. Also quite pricey and has small potions. Wouldn't recommend

What’s happened to the chips?! Have ordered a couple of times recently and they have gone down hill so much. So dry and almost like oven chips!

Local to me and have always found the food to be simple but delicious and good VFM. stuff always polite and open late for those all essential bag of chips.

Took over two hours to arrive and after multiple calls to the restaurant they used an excuse of they have a new driver..Cor bless him him took 2 hours to get from copnor to southsea. Let’s get started on the food, the omelette was a dark yellow and actually hard, my dead dad has a better complex and consistency than that omelette also the salt and pepper chicken wasn’t fresh or Crispy, my jaw was swinging like I been on the session for days from eating this..the passable thing was the chips and the best thing was the bottle of coke to wash the terrible taste out my mouth…highly recommend if you want to feed the bin

Have been using for years but tonight they have changed the way they do there chips. They were very dry with no flavor or taste.disappointed.

I ordered many times and tried half of their menu. The food is always excellent! Takeaways are super fast, but delivery orders take a while. I usually take the order by phone and pick it up in-store. It’s a great restaurant! I highly recommend it!

Ordered a Chinese waited over hour half rang up said yea just leaving,when arrived I challenged the delivery driver and he said this always happens I'm the only driver I said got to be more than 1 of you surely he said in a rude manner don't order again and walked off not even an apology. Won't use them again

I ordered a large chips straight from the counter. It came quick, was a good size, was very reasonably priced, and have no complaints with the quality.

Absolutely amazing food and piping hot. Highly recommend can't wait to order again! This will definitely be a regular place to go. Thankyou so much for the food :)

Beautiful fish and chips..but waited an hour and a half for it to be delivered rang and said it would be 15 mins but waited another half hour..complained to the delivery guy and he said this always happens and we should not order from them again!!! Terrible service from the delivery guy

Shocking 2 & half hours to delivery. Never again!

This has happened now twice in a row but below is from yesterday (13/11/22) Placed the order online which is simple but I had to phone after 1 hour 15 mins to see where my order was. Spoke to a member of staff who asked if it had been sent out and I could here that it had not and it will be sent out next. She said it will be 5 mins as they were getting driver to leave straight away. 15 mins later still no food, was just about to phone again but there was a knock on the door and I opened it to find nobody there but my food left on the floor!! I was not going to complain to the driver but it would of been nice of the driver to hand it to me and say sorry for the delay not run off. The food was ok, had better and had worse. The first I ordered I thought it took so long to deliver because it was a busy day for them, but for it to happen a 2nd time taking that long it not acceptable. I understand that it can take 30 - 45 mins on a busy day to get food to you but 1 hour 30 mins on both occasions is too long.

Top! quick Chinese never had a problem over many years, as they say" Does what it says on the tin!" Always super fast friendly delivery, Hot and Sour soup possibly best ive tried outside of Asia! I guess if you are looking for a sort of Ken Hom style meal then maybe order from outside Portsmouth and pay top dollar?

Donk think you will get within the time limits stated on web site, can't cope when it gets busy. Was told there nothing they can do and can't change ther website apparently Worse fish and chips in a long time, didn't help when my wife found hair in her fish!!!!!!!!!

Almost 2 hour wait for fish and chips, call up after an hour to find out how long it would be to her a guy in the background say just tell them it’s already left and it will be 15 minutes we waited another half an hour To have over cooked chips and only to find a hair in my fish!!!!!!!

Absolutely disgusting meal. Asked for a Char Sui Pork Chow Mein. Lady was quite happy to take my order, then when I asked, will it have enough sauce as happy to pay more. I was told. Vegetable on the bottom, then meat, then sauce so yes pay for more sauce, but the sauce choices did not include Char Sui. So I chose Cantonese. What we received was Beansprouts mostly, ZERO meat and what tasted like an old WoK! Shame on you - your takeaway looks as good as it tastes 0-10

*UPDATE* The chicken chow mein is absolutely delicious. Been going here for a while now so know which dishes are good. Mixed starters are nice, duck with pancakes are great. Best 2 things on the Chinese menu? The pancake roll is huge, delicious and amazing value. Satay chicken skewers - I could eat a bowl of the satay sauce. Singapore noodles are very nice but super spicy. Lots of the standard Chinese dishes have been a little disappointing though.

Came in to order sausage and chips, paid and waited for my order, 25 minutes had passed and still no order even though people well after me had been served and left, asked where my order was only to received a blank look, got home and the order was still wrong.

We ordered The Chicken and Duck Fried Rice with Curry Sauce, Sweet and Sour Chicken Balls & the Hot Starter for 2. The Prawn Toast had clearly been refried, 1% prawn. The Ribs were dry as a bone with no sauce, the rice tasted like bullets. The prawn crackers were nice. 1/10 never again.

Appalling service charged me £241.10 for a takeaway which was only £24.10. Couldn't refund straight away have to wait for refund 3 working days. What sort of business is this. Won't be using again that's for sure

Had this cheat before. Went in there and ordered £9.40 meal. He said £11.80 (as usual) I paid but then questioned it. He said oh I thought you wanted this. I said yes and it's £9.40. Slammed the money back. (minus 20p). Food lovely Male staff usual thief. Wish the owners would read this. losing them trade cos of him.

Food is reasonably priced, good size portions, service is quick.

Ordered a takeaway as this is our favourite place, always pay by card over the phone as I rarely have cash on me. Delivery girl arrives and tells me the price is owed, inform her its been paid, she shows me the receipt saying payment due, I phone the place for someone to say no money is due so I show the delivery girl my bank account saying the amount has been paid, she informs him and he agrees and as she hands over the food he then decides it hasn't been paid again then says it was paid and then not again. Delivery girl then gave up and said keep the food she was pissed off too. Never again will I order from them which is a shame as I enjoy their food, but no one will try to take the piss out of me

Initial reviews looked good and was really excited for this meal, unfortunately our takeaway contained a wrong order and missing food which we had to return for. Portion sizes for the price were OK but small for prices compared to others we've had, but the seaweed portions are VERY disappointing - they arrive in a small polystyrene cup supposedly suitable for 2??? Food in general was sadly also very disappointing and tasteless. Although disappointing it arrived warm. Not sure I'd go back though.

Average at best. If you want a good Chinese, go over the road to Wonderful Eat. It’s cheaper, nicer and better portion sizes

Ordered takeaway 15th jan used many times before. Advised order would be 1hr that’s fine long wait but could wait delivered 2hr 10 mins later. Rang twice to chase. This time wait is not acceptable for anyone. Especially if you are a diabetic by the time the food arrived my sugars were really low and I’d had to eat cake to bring them back up. This ruined my enjoyment of my takeaway and left me filling Ill it’s just greed of taking to many orders they can’t for fill in the time given.

Visited saturday 1 08 2020 after been recommended to me would have to say clean tidy polite and quick service I ordered meal set meal for 1 on arriving back home I was looking forward to tucking into my take away oh dear what a big disappointment couldn't eat the chicken chow mean the sauce was terrible rice far to salty and chicken balls to doughy I endeded up throwing pretty much all of it in bin certainly wont be returning disappointed

Reasonably priced especially for amount of chips received. Fast food it is not. Couldn't be bothered to cook chips so thought would pop in to pick some up. Waited over a ridiculous 20 minutes, glad I hadn't ordered anything else. Would have been quicker to do myself or order for delivery from home as that seemed to be their main focus. Mediocre service, mediocre chips. Will avoid in future and go elsewhere.

Had friends round & after using Copnor Takeaway for 16 years I ordered some dishes to share! Dish was missed & was told 20 mins to send it, they wouldn’t charge me a delivery charge (yep! It was like they were doing me a favour by delivering what they messed up free of charge) I said the rice would be cold by then & it was being shared, could they send A RICE to go with it free of charge, NOPE!!!! I’m lost for words but after ordering weekly for 16 years I won’t be back! Really messed up our evening but they couldn’t care less! IM FUMING!!

Customer service was the reason they have three stars, the girl who served me was really friendly but the shop needs a face lift all the counter was chipped and sticky, the kitchen looked like it was stopped halfway through a refurbishment and they only used a small corner of the kitchen I think if they spent some money on putting it right they could easily get a restaurant in there and get more money, the customer service was brilliant and friendly, but the menus need to be updated like I said a face lift will give this place a visual and financial boost. Haven't had the chinese food from there but the fish and chips was delicious it was hot and the portion sizes were great.

One of the quickest deliveries in town if you want a Chinese delivered in a hurry, food not bad sound a bit rude but it’s very average but I mean that as a good thing, everything is hot and edible, it’s very reasonably priced with good size portions. You can’t go wrong

Worse Chinese I've ever had..!!! Curry was like Kentucky fried chicken gravy. Cheap chicken. Ordered crispy duck with no hosin sauce. Delivery driver was so rude. Called back English girl answered phone didn't have a clue.

We order from here pretty often the food is really nice lots of choice we've never had a bad meal my only issues are sometimes nobody answers the phone I'm guessing they lose a lot of business due to this as we just choose to order from elsewhere also sometimes the person on the other end of the phone can hardly speak English so pretty difficult to order

Always had a lovely chinese take away from.here, been using this place for years. Staff are very hit or miss, but on the whole helpful.

As it is only a couple of hundred yards up the road, it is very convenient and also does a nice line in pancake rolls, they are quite big but very tasty and the chips are good too...

Ordered a large take out to be delivered when it arrived half the order was missing when I called they refused to do anything about it and wouldn't even speak to me was getting the English workers to speak but would not budge on giving me the money back or replacing the food I didn't receive and to top it all off the food tasted like crap would highly reccomend not to use this shop

Never a good thing to have your food too salty,usually means food is less than fresh,no real flavour a real so so chinese
