Nice place, but when asking about nuts in the carrot cake the girl didn't know. Shouldn't rain their staff on anaphylaxis and its dangers.

Very friendly staff who were very helpful. When we first arrived the staff were helping an elderly lady to pay. Friendly staff, were doing it and showing the amount to the lady. The staff we're taking their drinks to the tables without asking. The staff know regular customers by name. One thing the staff recognised me when I went in that afternoon so they recognised me again. Staff couldn't be better, facilities clean and toilet spotless on both visits during the day. The entrance door might be a bit heavy but staff still on look out in case help is needed.

Lots of people inside today but a few spare tables where we could enjoy a coffee together with our small dog. It’s conveniently located in Ledbury but sometimes the queue can be off putting. We decided to wait today as only about four in front of me. The beverages were delicious and the young female staff extremely nice today. Nothing was too much trouble. I love the fact that they bag up the used coffee grounds so that customers can help themselves &add them to their gardens and composter, free of charge. I was pleasantly surprised to spot some Biscoff biscuits which my husband loves, in the pre- packed section. I do find the cakes very overpriced in any coffee #1 though.

Excellent coffee excellent staff and good atmosphere. All of that is paled into insignificance owing to the service. As a regular, I can assure you that I often spend up to 20 minutes in a queue which demonstrates how good your product is! Under normal circumstances I just leave it’s better that way and go to the Feathers instead where prices are comparable as unfortunately is the service. There are ways to improve the service, just look at some of the international coffee houses in operation and crib some ideas. The manager while efficient and hard working insists on talking/shouting loudly which coupled to her loud laughing does not help one’s mood while standing in the queue or even whilst consuming your purchase.

Coffee is good if you can get it. Been in twice this week and both times had to queue back to the entrance, so the second time we left. Only one person serving at 9.0 am?

I am afraid standing in a queue for 15 minutes just to order is not acceptable. It did not used to be like this. I shan't be going there again.

My husband and I went into Coffee #1 in Ledbury today. There was quite a queue and with only one member of Staff, her name was Edie. A young girl, polite, calm and very efficient. Most of the queue realised she was on her own but they were happy to wait. That is all except one who was obviously in 'stress mode'. She was up and down and complaining about anything and everything, but Edie was calm and handled it all so well. We were extremely impressed. We can't thank her enough for making our afternoon coffee such a pleasant experience. We live in Ledbury and use Coffee #1 quite a lot. Another member of staff who is always polite and calm is Kerry. Coffee #1 wouldn't be the same without her.

Absolutely love all the staff here. Always very polite! They have a nice selection of cakes (including gluten free ones) which is great. The toilets are well kept and there’s free wifi.

How things can change - up or down - last year this was a great coffee bar, well trained excellent staff, perfect coffee and a super atmosphere. Last week was just about one of the worst coffee stops ever. Rubbish coffee in paper cups made by staff who just did not seem to care. It is not difficult to make decent coffee why do so many chains just not get it !! ?? They expect us to pay good money for rubbish service, OK well just vote with your feet. Won't be here again.

Was very busy but the staff were very organised and I got served quickly. The tables were cleared and cleaned quickly. There wasn't much choice of paninni's and sandwiches and some cookies, but I was told the shop's order for delivery that day was short. They normally have plenty of food to choose from.

Have been here before, when we last visited Ledbury. Excellent Coffee and cakes galore. Service was quick, despite being very busy; Staff were friendly and helpful. Even grabbed another Bag of Coffee 'compost' for the Spring.

Being out in Ledbury and needing a wee, I figured I'd pop in, buy a coffee and use the facilities. There was no queue. Ideal... I went and stood at the till, where three staff members were behind the bar. One was making drinks, one was cleaning the back surface and one was completing some paperwork. "Okay", I thought, "they'll be with me in a moment". A moment passed. Followed by another. Before I knew it, a number of moments had passed & had been stood there for about 3-4 minutes. By this point, I would have hoped that someone would have at least acknowledged my presence - giving me chance to ask to use the toilet before placing an order (as I didn't want to seem rude and just use the toilet first). However, all three members of staff looked at me a number of times but not one had engaged. Having spent many years managing a very successful independent coffee shop - rule number 1 is to acknowledge people who are waiting and at least let them know that you'll be with them shortly, or even better - take the order whilst also doing other tasks. I decided that appearing to be rude clearly doesn't matter and I figured I would rather not leave a puddle on the floor by the till - so went to the toilet. As I came out, I was greeted by a member of staff informing me that the toilets are for paying customers only, for future reference. Well, for future reference - I'll go elsewhere.

What is going on at your Ledbury branch HEAD OFFICE ? For the love of god, send someone from HQ and sort this branch out. Consistently, shockingly slow service. 30 minute wait last time I was in. There’s never enough staff. For the last dozen Sundays there’s been no cups (take away cups only) and closing early. The shop is filthy. The windows are greasy, tables rarely cleared (customers do that) and certainly never sanitised. We’ve now started taking our own surface wipes. Might even take our own cups next week ! As for the bathroom … soap and toilet rolls are a novelty. There’s plenty of competition in Ledbury. The last few weeks we’ve been in your branch it’s been very quiet. One week there was a sign on the window - NO CUPS TODAY - we went to the Ledberry and it was heaving with locals. Please get it sorted. Your Tewksbury branch is very well run, hope to see improvements in Ledbury soon.

We always go to coffee #1 when we visit our daughter in Ledbury. All the staff are brilliant, hard working, and friendly. Such a credit to the company. Bur today there was only one member of staff, rushed off her feet,with such a long queue, some people were leaving, come on head office, look after your staff, before you loose great workers, and customers , this is happening too often here .

The atmosphere is delicious with beautiful, rustic hard wood floors. Lovely book shelves filled with a nice assortment of literature. The employees were great and the coffee is the best we have had in England. We were told it was hard to find good coffee in the UK. They should have come here! A nice break from the day, a casual business meeting, or just catching up with friends. This is the place to come and visit.

Ledbury Coffee 1 is just a great place. Friendly staff. Delicious cakes and coffe and the place has a really friendly vibe. Highly recommended!

Sign outside shop today saying short staffed and at lunch 1-1:30pm although you could still go inside. Three members of staff were sat down having lunch so we went back at 1:35 and they were still sat having lunch and laughed at us as we walked by! Very rude, won’t be going back.

Was visiting the Town and are a great fan of Coffee #1. Choice of strength of Coffees and numerous delicious cakes to choose from. (can highly recommend the Orange Chocolate cake). Ham & Cheese Paninis were 'ok' but nothing to write home about.

I have been a regular visitor in the mornings over quite a period now and have for some time been meaning to give my thoughts : The manager, Leanne and her colleagues are always friendly and understanding in manner, often against the stresses that are passed on, sometimes unknowingly, by those that they serve. The coffee is lovely as is their food. Most of the staff welcome you warmly & you feel wanted. But there are a couple of women (one with ginger hair & one slim lady with dark hair in a pony tail) that need some advice on customer service. They seem uninterested & even if I try to have a little chat with them they are clearly not interested, almost rude. May I remind them that without us customers they would have no jobs. It costs nothing to be polite & friendly. Such a shame that just two members of staff let the whole place down.

Me and five of my friend’s went in to this coffee shop and asked for are drinks and then we asked to split the order so we could all pay separately and they were absolutely fine about this most shops would be a bit annoyed but all the staff were quick and efficient and then one of my friend’s after drinking her drink decided she wanted cake so she asked for recommendations and the person behind the counter told her about all the cakes and was able to tell what each one tasted like even though there were four people behind. After her cake we decided to leave and the staff member even opened and held the door for us Good visit over the moon.

I love coffee 1. Been to places up and down the country..coffee is always good. Here its no different. But staff have to be really professional- no gossip, no chit chat.. they got to keep on the ball. clearing tables. My wife took the dog in one day. The dog put up a bark one day. Just a few barks. I was asked to leave, someone complained... I came back with a muzzle just in case it barks again (its a very rare thing!) The manager keep coming around checking to see the muzzle is on. Its a bit fanatical. My dog needs to feed. She should focus on service, clearing tables. Ours was the only dog and he was quiet. I know how to control him.

Called in with the family as we had time to waste before meeting family. This coffee shop is amazing, from the staff who nothing was too much trouble to the decor to the service. Coffee 1 has a lovely decor and a lovely atmosphere to sit by yourself or with friends, however i'm yet to have an order from there whether staying in or take out, which has rarely been correct. sad really that a basic americano can be given to you with syrup in in and a Mocha instead, i want a plan basic americano.... seriously how difficult is that? Also quite often the cakes and paninis arrive to hte customer burnt...... staffs attention to the customer and timing would give this place a much better score

I have visited quite a few coffee 1 places and usually really like them. This one is set down a side street so is not best positioned to watch the world go by. Also we had a slight mix up over our order.

Visited Ledbury for a couple of hours whilst staying close by.. lots of coffee shops to choose from so took pot luck on this as there was a table available in the window. Not disappointed as coffee was strong, hot and flaouvered. Cakes were also very good and would have no hesitaion in returning or recommending.

Visited this place whilst on holiday & the family & I were very impressed. Delicious cakes & coffee, lovely ambience - so much so we came back a few times during the week! The Plymouth one doesn't quite have the same feeling but def recommend this one!

Always consistent with their coffees. Definitely worth trying their seasonal special and the chickpea curry sandwich was fabulous. If you like curry then you will definitely enjoy this. I just wish they were able to come as far as Lancashire!!

Again a very good Coffee #1. Not all of this chaind outlets work, being much more suited to smaller towns such as Ledbury than larger towns where they are often quite small and too busy, often with limited or no seating. The staff are always polite, efficient, considerate and friendly - that they 'bother' is very much in evidence. Excellent coffee always consistent. The ambience is very good and there are nice comfortable lounge chairs. Always a nice place to visit and relax. Just wish their bacon rolls were a little better, fine if you like streaky or fatty bacon - personally I do not!

Always enjoy the range of Drinks at Coffee 1 outlets, wherever, Cold, Hot, Tea, Coffee, Shakes, Smoothies, from the everyday to the imaginative, but what sets the Ledbury Branch apart, are the Staff.

When ever I visit Ledbury this coffee shop is a must excellent atmosphere fabulous cakes and service with a smile. Situated just off the high street would recommend to anyone Portuguese tart and a flat white delightfully served.

I like the fact we have a coffee#1 in Ledbury, it’s a nice place and the food and coffee fine. Often the service is ok but on several recent occasions I have found the staff miserable and rude. The last time I visited, although not busy, it seemed like ordering a coffee was a massive inconvenience to the woman behind the counter. On other occasions I’ve stood at the counter and been totally ignored while staff carried on prepping other orders, I have no problem waiting, but an acknowledgement, or i’ll be with you in a moment, would be polite.

Visited today and tried one of the chocolate frappes as recommended by the helpful lady behind the till and also tried one of the chicken and pesto panini. I was served very efficiently and was told I could take a seat and they would bring it over to me which I thought was very good Customer service and not only that service with a smile also good local knowledge too. The food was lovely and nicely presented with a bit of garnish and the drink was too. nice ambiance and very clean. Staff said thank you as we were leaving which I thought was a nice touch and made us feel good about returning. Well done all, a truly nice cafe to have in ledbury .

I think it's great that Ledbury has this coffee chain. The drinks and food are good and the unit is very accessible. It's therefore such a shame that the staff are so flipping miserable - in fact none of them could crack a smile if they were told they had won the lottery! Come on guys, spare a thought for your customers. You could be serving someone who is going through a tough time, depressed, bereaved, lonely etc. A smile now and again could really make a difference to their day. If you can't make an effort, for heaven's sake, take your frownie faces elsewhere!!

I always go to Coffee #1, the coffee is great, atmosphere relaxing, food always well stocked up, and not to mention the friendly staff. They always remember who you are, welcome you in and always say goodbye. It's probably one of the only coffee chains that offer to bring your drink over to you at your table, which is great for ensuring short queues.

On Easter Sunday. But had a jolly nice coffee and cake. Nicer than the bigger brands and a good choice of novelty cakes.

This is a regular place for me to visit. Coffee is great, staff are always excellent in their service and very friendly. Their great attitude is always the same, whether the cafe is busy or not. Such a relaxed environment. Highly recommend.

Went here on good Friday for a snack and a coffee. It’s a nice place for o quick coffee or a sandwich but is a shame that the staff is poorly trained and rude ,specially the manager. Shame

Dropped in for a hot chocolate, scone and tea. Superb chocolate, great jam with a good scone and nice tea. Helpful and cheerful staff, good ambience and location.

Huge choice of excellent coffees served in spacious, comfortable surroundings. Served by an efficient and friendly staff who will bring your order to your table if not too busy. The cakes and pastries are high guality. All in all, a very pleasant way to spend a half hour or more.

What a absolute treat it was to visit coffee no:1 in Ledbury, great selection of drinks especially the specials board and food selection. Match this with the great staff, a friendly hello and a jolly farewell made for a great and memorable time, will be back.

This was my first visit to this branch and it was wonderfully warm and welcoming - my drink was served promptly and they even had colouring to keep my son occupied, the cake was warm amd tasty will certainly be back.

We enjoyed coffee here for the first time in a cosy environment, but the price will put us off going again. An orange juice was £2.80. A hot chocolate (luxury?) was £3. As pensioners, if we go twice a week that's £12 a week just for a drink i.e. £48 a month or over £500 a year! Who can justify this?
