Coffee#1 in Cheltenham

They were short staffed today, which I totally empathise with, and the single serving member of staff did apologise when she got to me, HOWEVER I waited at least(!!) 20+ minutes in line whilst the second member of staff created some posters on her laptop, edited, printed, stuck them up all over (in full view of peeved customers) - the posters stated they would be using takeaway cups because they were short staffed 😆😅 literally help your colleague serve, explain this to me, and give me my coffee. I would’ve walked out like the numerous other people had I not had kids with me. Poor chap in front had to take a seat for a sore back, only hung around for some deal he had on his phone. Personally, felt like it severely lacked common sense. Otherwise fine.

Nice situation in the Montpellier Gardens with the coffee shop seemingly having a series of internal and external rooms. Decent coffee and service of fresh food drinks

Always a lovely spot. Don’t understand how someone gave it less stars due to an app issue? Staff are lovely too and helpful.

So, we’ve visited this place numerous times and the coffee is good and service good too. My wife had a new app for the company that offers you free coffee on your third visit. As this was our third visit using this loyal card app we ordered cofffee but was refused the free offer due to an error on the app wording. The staff member said that lots of people had complained about this, but clearly the company had no intention of changing it. You have lost our custom.

This coffee shop is always so lovely! The atmosphere is really friendly & the staff are delightful. Our coffees were so warm and delish, we would definitely come back again soon x

Deceitful service and pricing……again!! Second time in 2 weeks that I’ve been here and been served and charged for the ‘premium’ roast without being asked if this is what I wanted and prepared to pay extra for. It’s only 30p extra but I object strongly to this practice. I have complained to the Coffee#1 customer care team but I’m not holding my breath. Make sure you check BEFORE you pay.

Had walk in park. Went for a coffee and cake. The only promble there was only 1 person working , a long time but the coffee was good so could go again..

Service was very slow, they started making drinks for people who were behind my husband, and when asked why, they looked confused and found our order had been thrown in the bin!!! One drink wasn't right!!!

Nice venue, friendly service, good coffee. Just a pity that the healthy breakfasts advertised on the web site were unavailable. No granola, yoghurt and berries; none of the porridge options. A shame, because that was the reason I had chosen to go there. My impression was that these choices had not been on offer at all recently.

There was a recent review of terrible based solely on the person’s complaint about an extra charge for alternative milk. This charge is not set by the staff and it is clearly stated on the price board. Reviewing it as terrible for this is childish and sad. The Cheltenham staff are all amazing and the high percentage of return customers bears this out. The quality of products is good, the service friendly and the shop is spotlessly clean. I love this space.

Away from the bland sameness of Starbucks and Costa is this lovely coffee shop in Montpelier Gardens. Amazing staff, always smiling in the face of adversity. Quality products, good price, what more could you want!

I was surprised that without even asking me and not mentioning under the exact coffee purchase, they charged on my card something as high as 40 cents for a latte! It is a 'small' cup drink and to be able to give you just a bit oak milk instead of cows milk, they actually do not put the cows milk. If the drink is just a bit over 3 pounds, how do you really justify charging 40 cents over that just to use a tiny amount of oak milk (and not even use cows milk)? Also the lady working there debated that they mention on their menu on the wall about extra charge. No, not really. There was a completely different section of a board, that had prices of plant-based milks. It did not mention at all that (neither did they) they punish people who care about the environment, climate and animal welfare in the year 2022, charging them a good fraction of the price of the drink.

One of the pleasures in life our beautiful parks in Cheltenham and going to the many dog friendly cafes who have kept us going through the last few years of exceptional times,a big shout out to Coffee 1 ,Aggie (sorry if I spelt that wrongly) the manager is the loveliest of people ,always a smile and and a big hello however busy she is .A breath of fresh air and her company are very lucky to have her

I visited with my wife and daughter after an enjoyable visit to the science festival. Whilst being served by a different waitress l witnessed the female behind the counter remove multiple piercings from her mouth area. She then placed said piercings on the bar behind her and proceeded to take something from the fridge without pausing to wash her hands. The cross infection risk is so great that had my family not been feeling so hot and bothered l would have walked away immediately. For this reason l shall not be visiting Coffee1 again.

Literally the worst espresso I have ever had. Tiny dribble of espresso that barely covered the bottom of the cup. Suggest they take a trip to France to learn how to make it properly. And at £1.95 it was an expensive cup of nothing!

We were at the jazz festival and dropped in for a coffee,coffee was excellent,worth a visit if your in Cheltenham,good for a quick snack as well.

we normally like visiting the relaxed atmosphere of coffee No.1. However, we do not feel inclined to do so when served tea in cardboard cups! What a shame!

Lovely place in the city centre. Smiling and positive staff. All welcoming and making the place to feel like home. Products are fresh and the place is cosy. Definitely will visit again.
