Cobtree Manor Park Cafe in Maidstone

When the new people took over last year it's been a lottery as to when they decide to open there was a lady when she was there it would be open around 9.30 but when there was a young guy and girl they would stroll in sometimes 10.30 or 10.45 then set up and you'd be lucky if it was before 11 it open and this was Sumner time when park was crowded we now notice its down to them to open the toilets so no chance of that till we'll after 10 am they seem to be more interested in mote park as there flagship and cobtree is an after thought it's a shame as its a loverly park

You can tell its run by the council as they don't give a damn about customer service or comfort. I had to take my car in for an MOT just down the road so i thought i'd pop in have a look and see whats for lunch. The inside seating area was closed and looking through the outside hatch the shutters were down. This was at 12:30 in the afternoon in December. It was cold, raining and generally unpleasant. I could have gotten something to eat and drink but would have to had sat outside to consume it. 0 out of 10 for effort a private company would have been open and welcomed you in.

I would just like to say how fantastic Becka was. My family was visiting the park when one of our party had a fall, we went to the cafe to get a first aid kit to help our injured mother. Becka came immediately and helped in a most professional and caring manor. Thank you for your help Becka. I know this is not a review of the cafe but we staff as caring and professional as Becka we will definitely go there and recommend to our friends and family.

I am here every Sunday, it's never open. I came later this week. Website says open at 8.30am, not open & it's now 9am. Woman in there but ignoring us, this is after she has just in from having a smoke round the back. We ha e been waiting since 8.40am for her to open. We know she is in there as the kitchen door is open. What a waste of a building. Should go back to when it was a snack waggon

Since the new company have taken over its hard to know when they open on a Sunday some Sundays when the lady that seems to be on her own they are always open around 9am but when the two young people are on we call them the cant be arsed team they turn up around 9.40 or later then say they have had problems which means cant be bothered to get up they then slowly get things sorted and open nearly a hour later its the I don't really won't to be hear attitude that comes across its a loverly park let down by theses two when there in charge of the cafe

1st visit since last year and the cafe had been closed down apparently. It had a serving hatch open when we went. We ordered 3 coffees at 2.50 each and honestly it could have been dishwater they were that bad. They supposed to be a new coffee machine in soon, and it can't come soon enough.

I was going to get abite to eat here today 26/3/22 the car park was busy so there was a lot of people here went in the place looked very clean and tidy the only thing that put me off was the prices eg a bottle of Pepsi £2.40 for 500ml really that’s expensive even for a café garages don’t charge that much for it the food wasn’t much difference the food I did seen come out looked very nice and yummy it was just the prices that put me off I do understand it’s been a very hard few years thanks to covid but even so and I do understand prices have gone up as so has wages and rents but saying that come on guys and girls have a look at the prices there was a lot of families there today you could be getting more trade if maybe you lower the prices the car park is only £2 for 6 hours parking which is great value the loos on site was very clean and tidy so thank you love mr cheeky in Kent

Visited this park last weekend great park & walk but stay clear of the cafe total rip off & they should be wearing masks .!!! I had 3 tins coke 2 small coffees & small Mars £11.40 scandalous I queried the bill to be told cokes £1.40 a tin unreal .!!! I asked was it council run to be told was now private can see why it's a joke that you go for a nice walk to be ripped off , my daughter brought 2 small portions chips same as Mac Donald's small little pack & 2 calipoo lolly's as well was £9.80 stay clear as I said robbers with masks .!!! Shame spoilt the day will not be revisiting there .

Great play ground and woodland walk. Costs £2 all day to park the car. Outside seating . Historical maidstone Zoo.

Visited here today, 3rd August, checked on Gov/UK and this cafe is registered astaking part of the Eat out, help out, when we came to purchasingour items we were told that they knew nothing of this scheme and charged full price. How can this be when it has been registered with the government yet still charged full price?? £13 for 2 bacon rolls and coffees, should have only been £6.50, don't go here expecting the discount, because you won't get it.

Just opened after lockdown. Has organise the social distancing. Basic food and drink on offer but that is understandable in the circumstances.

Having been before a couple of times over a year ago i brought my dad here for a coffee. What has happened here...new owners in the cafe? New staff? New menu. Im sorry to say...terrible coffee.luke warm food. Not good at all

Cobtree isn't too far from our home and we occasionally pop down there on a Sunday morning for breakfast - it's a light, pleasant environment, the staff are pleasant and helpful and the food good - and if you go early enough you can almost have the place to yourself!

Not a bad little cafe to sit and have a coffee while the kids play, or after a walk round the park.Not a place for a quiet drink though, as you are right next to the play area.Food and drink is OK.Probably not worth a visit unless you are walking in the park or taking the kids to play.

We had a BLT baguette today at this cafe which was lovely. There was nice fresh salad in the roll with 1 piece of bacon on each half of baguette. The baguette was soft and not at all crispy, which generally baguettes would normally be. You had choice between white and brown as well.We both had tea to drink which to be honest was very weak, even stirring the tea bag loads didn't really make it any stronger, and I hardly used any milk in either. Wasnt exceptionally hot, but was near end of opening. We ordered about 3.30pm and they stopped last food at 4pm, so maybe the water for tea had been stood for some time.We didn't complain as just needed a quick snack and drink before going for a walk with puppy.Nice clean park and will return again for walks but maybe not for hot drinks, would probably buy food again thou may take own picnic lunch and drinks.

Having skipped brunch I was delighted to see Mushroom Rarebit on the menu. It didn’t disappoint! Delicious taste and it looked great too. They also have a great range of sweet treats and ice creams. They do breakfast until 11:45 and lunch there after. Seating available inside and outside and it’s a lovely park with lots of history!

We spent a good 4 hours here. The kids love it. Lots to do. There is a zip line and kids play area. The boys always take a ball and love to explore all the forest type areas. We used RingGo to park which made it £1.90 all day. I believe it is only £1.50 if you pay at the meter. The toilets leave a lot to be desired, the women’s were ok but both of my boys came out and instantly said how disgusting the urinals were. Cafe is nice and clean. We only had coffee to take out but it was nice. £4 odd for two coffees, what I’d expect price wise to be honest.All in all a great place to let the kids run out some energy.

Menu is marked for alergens (gf) but there are cooked with gluten containing food goujons etc . Food is typical cafe fayre and looks clean. Lack of allergen controls is not good

Nice for a hot drink or a breakfast when you have been for a walk in this lovely park. There are tables outside as well as inside. They also do lunches but we haven't had those yet. Would definately go back.

Shame, it used to be much better. Cold food, badly put together (e.g lots of salad dressing whether you want it or not, dreadful looking mushy rarebit which tasted as bad as it looked), badly timed so someone’s food arrived after we’d finished and don’t bother telling you your drinks are going cold on the counter.

Nice cafeteria but would suggest swapping the popcorn in the children's lunch boxes for maybe Cheddars and dispense with the dressing on the salad or at least ask the customer if they want it as it made my salad inedible

Cafe in Cobtree Country Park adjacent to loos. Great place for refreshments when at the park or out on a walk.

We stop here every now and again when walking the dog. It is standard food and drinks but always good. Coffee is good and generally have a bacon sandwich. Prices are ok.

Having had a similar experience to Lawrence, I felt the need to highlight what I am seeing at best as an overreactive staff. In our case the staff were dismissive, accusational, and unwilling to accept the simple and honest account. Had they of done so I wouldn’t be writing this review but they continued to try to assert their right of accusation. We were not willing to engage in an argument in front of children and took the high ground. Many wouldn’t. The whole thing was disproportionate. We really did come away feeling that the staff view their customers with contempt. At all other times I’ve enjoyed my visits to the cafe... such a shame.

This cafe has changed hands and with that so have the prices and its a little more expensive than it used to be. I feel very sorry for the previous reviewer but Helen the lady who does most of the delicious cooking is still there and most of the other folks too. The park manager is still around a lot, I think her name is Lizzy. She is ways welcoming and happy to help you with any information about the park. Its still a great place for families with so much to enjoy.

Have been coming to the park for years. Just gone to buy a coffee from the cafe and got accused by the young lad serving of shoplifting!!! I asked if he was serious and he said I saw you put something in your jacket pocket. I put my jacket on the counter and told him to search it, but he called another member of staff over who did and apologised. Unfortunately the lad had no backbone to say it was a mistake. Customer service, not here I'm affraid. What was worse the many areas of the place went and hid. So with this pathetic way of running the place I do not expect a reply to this. Shame it has ruined what was always a pleasurable place to come.

A perfect venue for a drink and a snack / ice cream with the family. Located next to the car park and childrens play area. Clean and reasonably priced.

Not a bad choice of food if you want a snack BUT it does work out quite expenxive if you all want more than a snack. Toilets have always been clean and tidy . Staff polite and helpful

We come here every week for a lovely walk around the park which is usually finished off with a drink and a delicious home made scone. Now it's all changed, none of our regular friendly staff, the main door was shut so we had to come in at the corner end of the cafe. Layout is completely different, no scones & our drinks had risen from £2 to £3.60. No drinks menu available to check prices anywhere in the cafe. They may have been a little slow in service previously but it now feels like a commercial money grabbing place!

Lovely little cafe, however very busy due to the peak times, and also very expensive for what they offer...

This delightful eatery is set in a wonderful park, that is magical for children and families.

Although we live 200miles away, we visit Cobtree Manor Park regularly when visiting our 6yr old granddaughter. Its her favourite place for a picnic and to run off some steam!. Free entry, parking reasonable. Always visit the cafe, clean, spacoius and good value for money. Local people, you are lucky to have this amenity.

The Cafe is in Cobtree Manor Park and has recently been rebuilt and improved. You can now sit inside. Can get a bit manic with only 1 till when busy but the staff are very helpful. Food looked OK.

For a small park cafe, this place serves a ridiculously huge range of dishes and each dish I have tried has been amazing. The fajitas are lovely. The park is also great for kids with plenty to play on. Recommended.

Great café in a lovely park. Adjacent to a large carpark and childrens playground in the lovely Cobtree Manor Park with its open grass areas and specimen trees. Sunny days will find long ques but generally service is good.

Este es un buen sitio para correr, explorar a través de los bosques y jardines secretos, picnic y jugar. Y para rematar todo el parque tipo aventura es genial para todo bajo el busto de adolescente edad principalmente diversión para menores de 10 años y el café es acogedor, y tiene una versátil gama de alimentos y bebidas. Tienes que pagar por el aparcamiento (1 libras. 50), lo cual está bien si te vas a quedar un par de horas, pero si no si quieres estirar las piernas por 20 minutos.

Excelente en muchos frentes, paseos encantadores de perros y un montón de cosas para mantener a los pequeños entretenidos. No está mal aunque el café un poco caro. Lugar muy popular, así que casi siempre está lleno. Hay zonas verdes abiertas y zonas boscosas, junto con la cafetería/centro de visitantes y también una zona de juegos. Aparcamiento grande aunque tienes que pagar. Voy allí a unos 3 o 4 veces al mes, ya que mi perro le encanta aquí.

Tuvimos un maravilloso desayuno en la cafetería encantadora. Se sirvió comida caliente y muy rápidamente. El personal de la cocina parecía ser un equipo fantástico y realmente disfrutamos hablando con nosotros y nos hizo todo muy en general bienvenidos. Visitamos cobtree caminar nuestro perro todayand quería entrar 2 bebidas calientes para nuestro caminar. 4 personal trabajando, pero todavía tardó 25 minutos grt estas bebidas, absolutamente Loco, ya que no había tanta gente. La gente de las esperas. complaing Necesitan conseguir personal que saben lo que están haciendo.

Te cuento lo que es un lugar impresionante para caminar a los perros, llevar a los niños a jugar y hacer algo de ejercicio. Pero la caf'e es genial para conocer amigos sentarse con los niños. Algunas veces es muy concurrido y puede que tenga que esperar, pero el personal no podía trabajar cualquier más rápido. La comida es realmente fresco y tuvimos algunos pasteles caseras hoy después de nuestra sabrosa comida. (Realmente no sé cómo mantener los precios este bajo. Se duda hacer más visitas.

Always found this place welcoming and despite having to pay for parking (1.50) itbis well worth the money. Make an afternoon if it with a walk round the park or let the kids play in the extensive play area.

Hoy fui con un amigo y nuestros hijos, que era de alrededor de 15/20 minutos (podría ser hacer con vacaciones de verano y buen tiempo) en su mayoría bien abastecida aparte de chaqueta no asadas! Después de hacer cola durante un largo tiempo me decepcionó un poco por que como un cartel en la puerta o algo hubiera ayudado! Comida para mi hija llegamos bastante rápido y ella lo disfrutó sin embargo fui sin! Los precios son competitivos (comida para niños 3,50) no excesivamente caro! Sólo desearía que era un servicio más rápido. Como digo no sólo culpa personal un día ajetreado!

Went there very recently. Staff so lovely and the kids loved the food. So much better than the normal rubbish you are served at parks etc. Will definitely go back.

He visitado este lugar en muchas ocasiones a lo largo de los años, y utilizada para disfrutar realmente de tener bebidas y bocadillos en el Cobtree cabaña. El personal siempre fue muy amable y servicial. A menudo había que esperar para la comida, pero cuando llegamos, estaba caliente, fresco y sabroso.

It's such a shame the running of the cafe is so poor, it's such a lovely area and the food is ok but they never have the staff or the stock to cope with the queues! The chairs in the cafe are filthy!!

La única parte de nuestra primera experiencia que desprestigia el café. Fue un día espléndidamente soleado y yo tuvimos que hacer cola durante más de 30 minutos por el exterior al lado del edificio wc para comprar 3 helados. Sólo hay una cola para pedir comida y todos incluyendo bebidas calientes que tome tiempo para la orden.

Yo quería que este lugar era genial después que frecuentan la cabaña del árbol cob a lo largo de los años, estoy decepcionado de que no lo era.

We ate here, having only "popped" into the park for an hour, so unprepared food-wise.It's not badly priced, but with younger children the portions are too large for them, ours shared a meal.The adult meals are reasonable, as are drinks

A menudo paseo nuestros perros en Cobtree y estaban felices cuando la nueva cafetería abierto como nos gusta reunirnos con amigos para dogwalks y café durante el fin de semana. Ahora hemos comido aquí varias veces y tengo que decir que la calidad de la comida es realmente alto y algo inesperado de un café. Hamburguesas son enormes... nuggets de pollo son caseras y correcto! También hay una gran e inesperada variedad de comida de queso halloumi whitebait! Nuestra única queja sería que como las tardes más ligero, nos encantaría poder ir después de trabajar, pero el café cierra a las 4:00 pm - esperamos que esta podría cambiar para el verano!

Visitamos aquí por primera vez en las vacaciones de Semana Santa. Los nietos lo pasamos de maravilla en el parque y nos decidimos almorzar en la cafetería. Después de hacer cola pedimos dos comidas para niños, dos niños sándwiches y dos patatas de la chaqueta. (Me gustó la lasaña fuera pero me dijeron que sería 20 minutos en la cima de la espera! ). Nos dijeron que había una espera de 25 minutos sobre la comida, así que nos sentamos con nuestras bebidas y esperamos y esperamos y esperamos! Durante este tiempo nos dijeron que sólo tenían una chaqueta, así que pedimos algo más, entonces esperamos algo más! Después de esperar una hora y cuatro niños con hambre que pregunté cuánto tiempo hasta nuestra comida, el personal no le preocupaba y nos hartamos porque con "suya es siguiente" esperamos otra vez, pero después de dos mesas más sirvieron nos había tenido suficiente. Pregunté por el dinero y la izquierda! Estoy seguro que en no es una época muy concurrida este café está muy bien, pero el menú es demasiado grande y complexed para el personal de soportar.

I went to cobtree manor park today, to do a Easter egg hunt that the cafe had put on, the staff well very helpful friendly, we were only planning on staying for a couple of hours, we ended up staying for 4 hours so we used the cafe for food, I was very impressed with the menu a fabulous range of food available, the food was delicious I myself am a vegetarian and sometimes struggle to get much more than a cheese sandwich again a wide choice was available the staff were very efficient, friendly I highly recommend the cafe,and to top the lot of the children receive a lovely proper size Easter egg !! Great day out lovely surrounding lovely food

after reading the reviews i must say i was pleasantly surprised, went along during half term took the kids. firstly the improvements to the park are great kids loved it and safe to say they had a early night after tiring themselves out. great improvement!

Visitamos este café para una taza de té. Supimos desde las horas de negocios que cerraban a las 16.00 horas. Nos dejamos unos 3,35 p.m. y compró dos tés y un bollo rositas, el personal de servicio era muy educado y en ningún momento nos dicen que se cierre en breve. Nos sentamos en la cafetería con nuestras bebidas ¿ ?Neil? déjese impresionar por y dijo, bastante grosera, que lo estaban cerrando. Él fue muy notable por su presencia, nos sentimos muy incómodo y bastante intimidados. Era de 3,45 horas por esta vez pero dije a mi marido 'le permite ir y terminar nuestro aperitivo en el coche'. Quizás el personal tenía un mal día, pero que necesitan para decidir en un punto de corte de servicio a fin de que los clientes saber donde se sitúan al ir a hacer sus pedidos.

El personal de aquí tienen, obviamente, convertido este Eatery alrededor y personas sin duda necesita volver e investigar la nueva dirección la nueva dirección (descubierto después de hablar con el personal) han promovido. El menú era variado y muy sorprendente para un café del parque del país -- tuve chili langostinos en ciabatta tostado por ejemplo -- y no me decepcionó. Recomendado.

Well what can i say Neil and his team made me feel so at ease from talking about hosting a charity Christmas lunch to arranging the menu (which can be very challenging for these individuals). I was new to arranging such an event and he was there every step of the way. They had set up the room perfectly a christmas tree crackers and lovely napkins all which i had no idea were going to be there for us what a lovely touch...The food was fresh and in abundance and a great variety for all...Jugs of squash and the home made lemonade was a lovely touch also.

Le doy a este parque y café un informe data hace un par de meses cuando escribí una crítica personal en el café cuando fui por primera vez. Fui temprano una mañana fue estupendo para conseguir un buen desayuno y un parque fabuloso para caminar mis 2 perros, pero desde entonces he sido tan decepcionado. a los fines de semana con niños puede ser una pesadilla si tienes intención de conseguir comida, una copa o un helado! Yo estaba en la cola por media hora para conseguir un par de helados y la verdad es que era terrible. Algunas personas estaban en la cola para conseguir el cambio por el aparcamiento ¡benditos sean! Así que asegúrate de que llevas cambio- £1.50 para aparcamiento y traer un picnic y café. Podría ser más rápida conducir a Sainsburys a comprar helados, etc. la próxima vez. Hoy fui a comprar un pase anualmente, este es mi segundo intento, una vez más se necesita el cambio 40 libras para esto ya que no tarjeta máquina! Sin embargo, no tenían la documentación correcta y códigos así que no podía hacerlo de nuevo!! Pedí hablar con el gerente, quien era arrogante diciendo re los fines que él "no puedo ayudar cuando la gente haciendo cola para buena comida"!!! risa! Él fue como otros que veo han dicho anteriormente indiferente y esto es exactamente lo que me sentí. Yo traigo a mi propio café la próxima vez!! Me sugirió que necesitaba un sistema mejor o más empleados a lo que respondió " ¿dónde puedo poner? ". Tal vez el Consejo podría darle algunos consejos sobre creando un sistema mejor o hacer cola para helados y entradas por separado??!! Otra vez que fui una mañana tranquila con mi madre y nos dijeron que la cocina estaba cerrada "disponible temporalmente" - no sé por qué pero al leer entre las líneas había 3 personal y la colada necesitaba ser hecho!!

Llevé a mi madre por un paseo por el parque. Después paramos en la cafetería para una bebida y una tarta o Biscuit. Fue 3,35 h. Nos dijeron repetidamente por el personal que eran "cierre en 20 minutos". Como el café era claramente sigue abierto, no éramos los últimos clientes así que apenas nos mantenerlas.

Después de leer las críticas que están siendo bastante duro. Fui allí para almorzar con un amigo y el perro en un domingo muy soleado. El café era muy ocupados, pero el personal era muy amable y claramente trabajando tan rápidamente como sea posible.

Pensamos en probar el nuevo café mientras visitaba el parque. Bonito y limpio. El personal es agradable. Etiquetado como cafetería y centro de visitantes. Es realmente sólo un café con algo de información sobre el parque pegados en las paredes. La misma información que los puestos de información diseminados por el parque.

Un grupo de nosotros como ciclista fuimos y nos sirvieron bien y tenía suficiente variedad para todos nosotros. El único problema es que no hay ninguna soportes de ciclo así que nuestras bicicletas tenían que poner en el suelo. Si no poner algunas en por favor asegúrese de que tienen en el lugar de donde la gente comer.
