Co-op Food in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

Stock was limited and very overpriced. There was only one member of staff on duty so Hubby and I had to call out to the stockroom so we could pay. We didn’t receive a warm welcome and it was clear from her manner that we were an inconvenience to her. We were staying in Port Isaac for a week but didn’t shop there again. There were plenty of lovely friendly farm shops who were happy to receive our custom.

We were shopping for a holiday in the area. It was very well stocked, with an excellent selection of fresh fruit and veg. All of the staff were very helpful and friendly.

For a small store this was sufficiently stocked to enable us to create a good range of meals. We found the staff to be very friendly and extremely helpful in pointing us in the direction of what we needed.

Wednesday 9th August approx 1700hrs. Popped into coop for a bottle of water. We were served by a truly awful lady. She was being rude to every single customer including us, barking orders, zero manners & just being a despicable person. Worst experience I've ever had in a shop and I was only in there for about 2 minutes. Management need to get rid of this horrible woman ASAP. Customers with congregating outsides discussing what a terrible experience that we all just had, all because of this one woman behind the counter. I've just read the other reviews and the one star and two star reviews reflect exactly the narrow-minded spitefulness of this particular person & the feeling we left this shop with.

I'm not sure why so many people have complained about rude staff. I'm in Port Isaac on holiday and I have visited the Co-op 3 times now. I haven't encountered that at all! That aside, my review title says it all.

A lovely well stocked shop. I visited a few times whilst staying a few doors away for a week. I went in on first day expecting dreadful staff as had read on here how rude they are. Well I have to say every member of staff I came across was friendly and some I even had a laugh with. I don’t normal shop in coop as don’t have one near me, but I’m impressed by their food.

Rude staff… Quite clear non-locals are unwelcome Get the impression this part of the world would be happy for lockdown to continue forever

I've been coming to PI for many years and have always been happy to shop local at the Co-Op. However, during my recent stay I found the female staff (one in particular) rude and unhelpful - I really felt my custom was not wanted. One younger male member of staff was, however, extremely helpful and pleasant. The minimum I would expect of staff is that they acknowledged my presence. Just a courteous 'good morning ' would have been nice. This Co-Op is very well stocked and I'm sorry I won't be using it again.

The staff (mainly the older women) are rude to anyone the deem to be non-locals. They don’t acknowledge a ‘morning!’ or ‘hello’ and try pathetic small minded tactics to make your visit as unpleasant as possible. It’s the only shop in Port Isaac. Something needs to be done at area manager level within Co-op Group to adjust the childish narrow minded attitudes with prevail amongst staff within the Port Issac branch

I purchased some ice cream and the lady serving behind the counter didn't look at me once or speak to me apart from telling me the price. No hello or goodbye or thank you. What a miserable old lady!

This is a convenient shop to pick up something for a beach picnic. The shop is small but it is well laid out and a one way system because of covid. If you miss something, you have to go back round again. It has a nice selection of fresh baguette, donuts , cookies, bakery, cold drinks and crisps. There are also a small number of parking spaces right outside too. Very handy

we frequented this lovely grocery store twice on our visit .. clean very complete selection and friendly staff lots of local items making it a fun explorational journey worth the hike

we were unable to get into the lower town as we were unable to park or walk up the hills the coop was a lifesaver and the only accessible shop

Thank you co-op for allowing us to buy our holiday supplies. Every visitor to port Isaac that stays for a period of time will be all to familiar with the co-op, great selection of items and very friendly staff.

Always a good selection of supplies at this supermarket that always seems to be open. Well stocked shelves, friendly staff and ‘ normal’ prices, parking outside but might need to hover to get a space.

Wow this is a fantastic shop. Don't miss the croissants they are just wonderful. I never miss a visit here when I holiday in PI.

This Co-op store is situated on the hillside above the centre of Port Isaac. It is very handy for stocking up on grocery items if you are staying a few days in the village. It has a good range of food, with fruit and vegetable,...

The staff here must have a lot to put up with, all those flippin' tourists day in and day out. Being the only food shop in Port Isaac they get the 'Let's do all our shopping here to take to our holiday let', great at...

Great selection, good value, helpful and friendly staff, big up to my man big G, will visit again, fingers crossed they will get a hot chicken counter, really good sosig
