Walkabout in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

Poor hygiene looked like there was bird poop in my drink obviously they don’t clean their glasses very well , if you drink here I’d suggest you check your glass. But better not to drink here. Health and safety please come and check everything!!

Not the best experience. Ordered food, waited quite a long time. Went to find someone as to how long food would be, our 3 plates were sitting on the kitchen counter obviously waiting for it to be brought to our table. Food was cold so obviously had been sitting there a long time. Place was not busy so didn’t really have much excuse. Food seemed ok and no doubt would have been very nice if it had come hot.

Great for Football, one massive screen with about 30 more TVs all around

Caters to a specific demographic so if it's sport you want, then this will suit you. Our holiday apartment was a stone's throw from here and the music at night was so loud it shook the building! So that's another thing Walkabout caters for: nightclub / music. We shared some chicken wings which were very good and the service was good too. One minor quibble was the bad drains smell that hits you upon entering. It was very strong and doesn't create a great first impression. There is an outside terrace; it is small and quite grubby.

We booked this restaurant for a stag do, and from the start, the communication was excellent, making it easy to arrange for our group of 23. The atmosphere was perfect—lively and welcoming—and everything was handled smoothly. Jack at the bar was incredibly friendly, and Coral, our amazing waiter, made sure all our orders were spot on. She was helpful, patient, and kept everything running seamlessly. The food was tasty and in good portion, and everyone left impressed. A fantastic experience—we’ll definitely be back!

Throughly enjoyed the food. Highly recommend the Burgers particularly the rebel burger. Onion rings were amazing. Coated beautifully and the Bbq dip was perfectly made. Staff also lovely and plenty of places to sit and enjoy. Kids mac n cheese was very cheesy and was loved.

Booked to watch the 6 nations , got the table I wanted, food was great, drinks served fast , really busy and enjoyable atmosphere. Olli and his team did a great job

Walkabout is our go to Rugby watching venue. We book a table for all internationals and the staff always look after us really well. Locals discounts and the Mixr app are good. Foods ok. Atmosphere is great. Not a five star for me as it could improve by having another ale on tap and playing the commentary before and after the game.

Great location for sport!! Good choice of food and drinks and the staff are always friendly and helpful. Highly recommend

Enjoyed a drink on a Tuesday afternoon. It was very quiet. The view is lovely and drinks are reasonably priced. Bar service was quick but not the most personable.

It was just okay. The burrito bowl was missing the salsa and the cheese sauce, and the burrito bowl was just a soft flour tortilla, not crisped up. The atmosphere was OK, it was pretty quiet, just us and 2 other customers, and it was a bit cold in there. Nice views though.

Could have been 6/5 but there was no pickled eggs on sale.

We had a bottomless branch.staff were amazing!!! Specially Nicki,the service was fast and they attended to all our requests to make our night special.Nice variety of drinks.Food was lush.wish there was bit more music then football on.

A great sports bar with massive screens and also terrific beach views. It's a little tired inside but a buzzing atmosphere when a game is on.

the men's toilets.. i just cant even describe how bad they were.. FEACES EVERYWHERE. Never again

Visited Walkabout to watch the Arsenal match (wish I hadn’t) and was glad to see Kirsty was still working there. She showed me to a good table to watch the match and was very chatty & informative. She also kept checking in on me for drinks which was appreciated. Food was tasty and overall good value for money. Would def recommend.

Bottomless brunch was amazing with Nick (and Jack), she was so much fun, efficient, fun of useful advice, We hope for her again, we will be back. Happy new year!!!

The young Blonde Barmaid (did catch her name) spotted that I was disabled and struggling and carried all drinks to pool area downstairs and the checked I was OK. I had to write something because she needs some sort of recognition for going above and beyond her role. Thank you 13th Jan 2025

Absolutely stunning view of Newquay. A great laid back atmosphere, very friendly staff. We were served by Coral who was really lovely and friendly. Delicious food, we all had burgers and they were yummy yummy. A great location in Newquay we will be back. We all enjoyed playing table tennis (£5 deposit) whilst we waited. A great place.

Came with 2 adults and 2 children. Unlimited wings on a Sunday was really good and the server jack kept coming to our to table to check if was OK and wanted more. All servers were friendly. Sharer was good value for money.

Came for the bottomless brunch. Coral was fantastic at making sure we always had a drink on our table.

Booked a table with sea view overlooking the island. Great lively atmosphere. Super friendly and helpful staff. Had burgers, onion rings and tater tots. All delicious especially the burgers.

Randomly went one late afternoon. Had been told it was average at best... I actually thought the food was surprisingly good. Service was really good. Everything was clean including toilets . Prices were really good! Fed 4 people with a locals card for £35

I mean it’s a great location/view and great for a drink but my gosh stay clear of the food. They managed to overcook vegan chicken/ficken, didn’t even know that was possible.

31/08/24.. Made a reservation for my daughters birthday, on arrival we was greeted by Ollie, he made us very welcome and reserved a table with a view of the beach, food was amazing with the biggest onion rings I've seen, thanks Ollie for making my Daughter's 18th birthday one to remember.

Floor and tables are really sticky, no atmosphere and service is slow. The view is nice though.

After searching through the online menu and trying to unsuccessfully use the Walkabout App. I proceeded to order at the bar being told we're only doing a bacon cheeseburger. Why this wasn't posted on the door or a member of the team could of told us at the table. This could be possible as the place was dead..... I wonder why. 4 out of 5 for atmosphere as the view over the bay is amazing.

Unfortunately no food on when we went due to an issue, so we went elsewhere for that, but came back later for drinks. Atmosphere was good, played some ping pong with some pints, had a dance later, was fun

Worst place I had been in newquay. Poor service. Food took an hour and chips tasted stale

food was disgusting, service was diabolical, and overall a shocking experience. the place was disgusting, the tables were sticky and dirty, the food was either undercooked or overcooked, if i could give this place a 0 star rating, i wouldn’t even think twice at it. rude staff, not worth the money at all. DO NOT EAT HERE!!!!!

My favourite place on the face of the earth; incredible views and the food and service are always impeccable. Lee, particularly smashed our expectations and was kind, friendly, courteous, knowledgeable and helpful.

Absolutely blown away with the service from the staff. They where all very professional. Friendly and helpful. the food quality was hot. Well presented. Tasted lovely. Price very responsible. We also did not have to wait long for the food. Which was brought out all together. As was two separate orders. As we.where a table of 8. 2 families. Also kept an eye out and knew when to bring the reordered desserts up. Without having to ask can we have now. Extra bonus... no kids moaning... The family bingo was fantastic. Very well organised.. kids really got into it, and enjoyed trying to guess the song and artist before screen told them.. Definitely a place we will go again. Xx

Absolutely lovely place and great staff that work on the bar their so caring and the atmosphere their is impeccable I have been their on a Friday and Saturday night and Tuesday for music bingo

Order food for the family and wasn’t able to eat as a family due to of the poor service and communication. Some family member's were treated disrespectfully and ruining the whole experience. I am so disappointed as this used to be a lovely place to eat.

The worst toilet seats: rotten wooden seats! How this place passed health and safety is beyond me!! Couldn't bring myself to order anything, just walked in and out. It's a place that you should "walk about" and not stay, so well-done for naming it correctly

Great place to watch the Euro finals (despite the result!), great friendly atmosphere and plenty of TVs, including a giant screen. Only complaint would be the slower service at the bar due to the sheer volume of people. It almost needed some pop-up bars around the venue selling beer to help lighten the load?

Utter chaos for the England game but it was fantastic! Lovely atmosphere, no aggression anywhere (unlike other venues) a shame we didn’t win but it was a great experience.

Great place for a drink, or food, looks out over the beach, screens on everywhere for football etc. food is nice. N rattler on tap even nicer.

Went to the Walkabout for a late breakfast and a cheeky pint, being coeliac it is sometimes a hassle to go to new places to get food but going here was amazing. The staff behind the bar knew what was gluten free and advised me on the cross contamination areas and actually knew what he was talking about! Then when ordering my food, the items i couldn’t eat was offered to be replaced by anything else i wanted. This was a brilliant experience and i would recommend to all coeliacs!!

We were on to watch the England game - great atmosphere and food was tasty. Big kudos to all the staff who worked really hard and extra big thanks to the Assistant Manager (name unknown) who a really good bloke.

The food was okay. Toilets had wooden seats and filthy. Sticky floors everywhere. The pool tables and equipment were terrible. View and decking were very nice, and I bet it's an awesome place when busy for a piss up!

I thought chips were cold but lads thought they were ok. Put them in my curry and they were ok. Great service. Quiet compared to how I expected. Love the sea view and outside tables.

The staff here are really nice, the coffee was really nice accompanied by spicy chicken wings which were really tasty tasted like reggae sauce, and the views from outside if you can find a table are great, there is a pool table aswell clean tidy and friendly atmosphere.

We came during the afternoon for a drink, and enjoyed the spectacular beach views from the far end. It had ample seating, multiple sports screens, and ok priced drinks. The toilets weren't great but were clean.

Stacey and Linda were brilliant all day looking after our stag party. Would totally recommend

I had to come back for more and must say that as fabulous as the food is (honestly best chicken wings I've ever had) the staff are better! So friendly and kind, The Walkabout give you the feeling of a community, its open friendly and amazing views! I'll definitely be back again the next time I come to Newquay

Popped in for a quick drink, the football was on which creates a nice atmosphere, only down fall was the sticky floor, was awful to walk along

Can not thank all staff for a perfect send off for a beautiful friend our Al..went above and beyond,they truly do care about customer's and their family up north,to do a minutes silence in his honour and then to livestream his funeral so Newquay friends could witness his funeral..is truly magical,the food laid out,the care and attention and effort they made is exceptional..worth more then 5 star's, walkabout should be more then proud of their staff,they all deserve a pay rise 😉 thank you soooo much walkabout staff for making me and many others feel special, cheers me dears.

Awesome venue. Lots of great events here. Cheap drinks too. Disabled access to get inside is a little brutal (steep) but otherwise perfect place for drinks food and music!

What a gem! All rounder that you can stay in ALL DAY!!!! Had an awesome lunch basically every side on the menu (really couldn’t decide) loaded fries are to die for!! Ended up staying until close after having a few drinks and playing pool and the dj started that was great so couldn’t leave! Staff were all so lovely and we can’t wait to go back!

Good venue for live music, highly recommend checking it out. If you're performing here as a musician, bring mics, cables, mixer and monitors though as only the in house pa speaker system if offered and no sound engineer is provided. Sound is tricky due to large space and high, corrugated metal ceiling. The in house DJ was absolutely wicked though and there's plenty of space to dance

Huge venue with stunning views and some nice spacious outdoor seating. Plenty of food and drinks offers. Only negative is it really doesn't look inviting from the outside and you could easily assume its run down or even derelict. Please repaint it 🙏

The outside lets it down, but this sports bar has an amazing view and lovely food.

I'm torn, because I've been here lots of times, and eaten here lots of times, but on my latest visit I was advised the fries are cooked in the same oil as the chicken wings!? Therefore this does not make them vegetarian! Even though there is a 'V' next to them on the menu. I believe the onion rings and waffle fries are the same ('v' on the menu but cooked with the chicken wings). We wanted the vegetarian burger and fries and had to leave instead and eat elsewhere, and this will stop me returning again. I'm also upset that if this has always been the case as I have eaten there many times before.

Absolutely fuming ! Came to the area for work and came in the other night to watch football . A lad I met in there that was from the area got kicked out for whatever reason and me and my colleagues stayed for most of the night . Came back today again to watch football and was refused service . Saying I got kicked out the other night . I said no and explained it was another lad that I didn’t even know and looked nothing like me she still refused me . Luckily I had a picture of me and my friend and he was on the table , I showed her and she still refused me saying I’d have to return later to resolve the matter . Asking me to return after the match . I then explained i only wanted to watch the match and leave and if she could check the cctv to confirm it isn’t me that got kicked out . She refused me still . So now have had to go . She said I didn’t have to go but just wasn’t being served beer OR food !!

Always come here when in town, it's always a lovely atmosphere with friendly staff. Great food, although I do miss the vegimite sandwich... with a nice outside area that has great views when it's sunny!

Possibly the worst meal/lunch I've ever had , food was poor , bread for the sandwiches were not fresh , main was warm at best , chips were like bricks , family we're not happy £90 i should have spent elsewhere

Great atmosphere and live music

To the so called 'manager' that was working behind the bar yesterday and had been in since 9am, I believe you may be in the wrong line of work. To involve yourself in a conversation that is of no concern of yours in such an abrupt manner is quiet frankly rude and slightly aggressive. Bars such as this are supposed to have a friendly and uplifting atmosphere and if you are not happy that you have been working since 9am on a Saturday then perhaps it's time to consider a career change. Wouldn't expect such rude abrupt behaviour from any member of staff in any customer facing establishment, let alone a Manager. Can honestly say the time spent in Newquay over the weekend was lovely and every member of staff we come in to contact with in every other place we visited were absolutely lovely, which leads me to the conclusion that this lady was in fact the problem and not our group. Hopefully you will begin to speak to people a little nicer from now on!
