Cliff Top Cafe in North Norfolk

I cannot understand why there are so many negative reviews on here, we were there today, October 13th, and had their chicken curry with pineapple. Well cooked and plentiful, service was excellent, cleanliness of the cafe was also excellent.

Lovely setting, friendly staff. Great coffee and lovely cake, but would not recommend based on prices, £13 for 2 coffees and one slice of cake! Cotswold prices in Norfolk, no thank you!

Good reliable food in a dog friendly cafe. Food cooked to order and fresh food menu so something for everyone. Does get busy!!!

Can of diet coke, cup of hot water with a teabag in it, and a shop-bought and re-sold horribly dry flapjack. £9.00 to you John! Thought i'd wandered into Maxim's in Paris for a minute, but then i realised i was just getting shafted by an establishment that scrapes along by fleecing tourists. Got a place where you can shove your flapjack, smiler (the laugh-a-minute waitress/owner behind the counter). Saggy pants...don't waste your time/money!

This cafe has gone down hill the cost versus quality is not good with prices being high for the poor quality that is received, during a recent visit I was horrified by the series of events that unfolded and older lady collapsed on the floor she might even have passed away but the cafe remained open serving customers who had to stand over this poor woman so very insensitive it wasn’t until 5 minutes had passed that someone had the idea of closing the door to stop people coming. We have used this cafe for many years and seen changes of ownership along the way however it’s now just a conveyor belt making the most of the location getting as many people through the door and providing poor quality food.

7 of us rocked up for a late lunch on a Monday in August. Had various meals. Crab sandwiches were very disappointing, very smushy. Huge loaded chips for the kids, but the chips were under cooked and very dry. Quite expensive for what it was. Waitresses were very friendly though, and the location is great!

Stopped by a few times whilst staying in the village. Perfect location overlooking the sea. Good range of food available, toilets on site, attentive and helpful staff. Don’t understand those moaning about the cost - if you don’t like the price, don’t go! This is an independent business and serves good food with a view. Th breakfasts we had were great, and the staff were happy to accommodate a couple of special dietary requirements, all freshly cooked in a timely manner. Will be visiting again

Nice location, easy walk from car park. Indoor and outdoor seating, dog friendly. We had coffee and scones with jam and cream. Quite expensive, especially compared to what we pay at home in Guernsey.

A great spot with friendly staff. But oh my word have they yanked up the prices ! 14.95 for a smoked salmon salad which was poorly presented and contained about 3.00 worth of ingredients. It used to be our go to place for home cooked value for money meals but sadly not any more. Has it changed hands recently?

We had a fruit scone sourced from outside cheese toastie both not good pot of tea for two £17 .25 I don't mind paying but at these prices I expect quality food this is far from it They are the only cafe around so they obviously don't care.

We received a wonderful welcome when we arrived at the Cliff Top cafe on a rather grey day. My 101 year old mother was given a very capable helping hand and made to feel at home by a very friendly member of staff, and the dog was also warmly welcomed. Lovely large pots of tea - the Earl Grey was delicious - and a good range of cakes. And the lunch menu looked very promising, so we will be back.

Lovely restaurant with lovely staff. Great views and dog friendly and most importantly the food was excellent! Especially the apple tart!

This cafe is in a fabulous location in Overstrand with views of the sea, there are very few other eateries close by, so it’s often busy, but its badly let down by the quality of food, £13.95 for an English breakfast that was greasy, undercooked chewy bacon and cheap ingredients in fact nothing about it was good A bit over the top on the dog theme going on too .

Only come here if you want unfriendly staff, cheap bread and condiments, badly cooked bacon, and spend £23 on two of these sandwiches and 2 cups of tea. We declined paying an extra £5.50 for a slice of cake..

Stopped here for coffee as part of a walk from Cromer and back. Welcome break in the warm on a very cold and windy day. Nice coffee, good service. Clean toilets.

Lovely little cafe. Great walk along the cliffs from Cromer. Had tea with scones, jam and cream and it was lovely. Dog friendly as well. Worth a visit if you are in the area.

We were walking part of the Coastal Path & in the vicinity of this cafe so called off for coffee & cakes one afternoon. It was a busy cafe, with quite a number of tables inside as well as a few outside. There was a pretty large menu with both hot & cold food on offer. Our coffee & cakes were really very nice…it looked like the cakes were homemade. Flat white coffee is excellent!! The staff are very pleasant, efficient & helpful. It gets busy & expect to queue because it seemed like customers ordering hot food did so at the checkout rather than at the table.

Called in for tea and cake with a centenarian and we were so well looked after. Delicious bakewell tart and best ever amazing pecan pie. We brought some to take home. And we'll be back for more.

We haven't been in this cafe in a few years and were meeting some friends. We were pleasantly surprised that it is so much bigger and brighter with a very nice menu for meat eaters and vegetarians. Lovely range of cakes too. Staff were very friendly. Dogs are also welcome and are given a dog biscuit. The food we had was very nice and arrived quickly. We would like to take some more friends who are vegan but unfortunately there are no vegan options on the menu. Maybe a vegan breakfast and soya milk for tea/coffee would be a nice addition o your nice menu and we would then become regulars.

We walked over from Cromer for a spot of lunch. Being out of season and midweek, the cafe was relatively quiet. We both ordered pie of the day, which was steak and kidney, an old English favourite and mugs of tea. Our food was brought tout suite and was delicious, just what the doctor ordered! We have visited this cafe many times and have always had a warm welcome, whatever time of year. The food has always been high quality and the specials varied. We would recommend this cafe to anyone.

Fantastic cafe offering a wide range of food and drink. Very dog friendly. Inside and outside seating available. After you've huffed and puffed your way up from the beach, the cafe is gladly received. We had tea and cake while admiring the views. Just the ticket!

We had a great visit - we have been before on a previous holiday - some came back to buy fresh crab nearby and some lunch. The home made soup was really lovely and a good helping. We sat outside in the warm autumn sunshine and the staff were helpful and accommodating.

Not as good as it use to be, overpriced and not particularly good quality. A slice of cake £5.50 and small Latte £2.95 and I mean small, more like a very small tea cup and wasn’t even a properly made coffee just push button machine, which didn’t taste particularly nice. I know prices have gone up but, compared to everywhere else we’ve been it’s a complete ripoff.

We arranged to meet with friends for lunch and one of the party is gluten and dairy free. The menu was varied and catered for dietary requirements. The food was of an excellent standard and did not disappoint - the view out to see was great. Dogs were allowed and dog treats and chews were available to buy.

A great cafe with lovely food, including very nice breakfasts and cakes. A good selection for vegetarians. Also offers lots of treats for dogs, who are welcomed with open arms. Our dog particularly enjoyed the doggie sausage followed by a dog ice-cream.

Apart from eating with a view, the food was beautiful. I had fresh crab sandwich which was outstanding, hubby had jacket potato with prawns. Dog lovers. Great local artists on walls. The title says it all. We aren't exaggerating, look how many brekkie reviews we've done. Friendly, fast service, even though the place was busy. The quality of yhe ingredients shone through. Highly recommended and we can't wait to get back.

Discovered this gem today. Just wonderful and friendly, a place we could go with our dog. The food was outstanding. The best chicken curry we have for a long time. Welcome and friendly service. See you next year on our holidays.

Be careful if you have a nut allergy, all the cakes (even the apple pie) except for a scone, had nuts in or on them. Disappointing after the walk from Cromer!

The young lady who was serving was extremely rude, and the children's fish fingers where grey and not fit to eat, even my dog turned his nose up. Very poor

We visited here for breakfast on the 1st day of our recent holiday. We were made very welcome as were our 2 dogs & we enjoyed a cooked breakfast with cups of tea & the dogs enjoyed some tasty treats. It's a regular stop for us when we're in the area.

Ordered bacon sandwich and BLT sandwich, White processed bread and undercooked bacon, poor value for money. What made it worse was the fact they put undercooked hot bacon in the BLT sandwich which made the lettuce and one slice of tomato soggy! Never again .

Have used this cafe over many years under varying ownership, but have to admit it is not as it used to be. The coffee was luke warm and the cake well overpriced at £5.50 a slice!

This is a lovely spot to stop and have a bite to eat when exploring this part of the coast. Food is cooked well with generous portions and a good range of options on the menu. Dog walkers are welcome too.

We've been visiting this cafe for many, many years and will not be going again. We've never had such a horrible breakfast. The food was tepid and undercooked, we fully expected to suffer food poisoning as a result (thankfully we didn't).

First time visiting Overstrand a lovely area to visit. We had breakfast at Cliff Top Cafe, how disappointing, breakfast wasn’t even hot ordered sauté potatoes which was overcooked. Then they brought over the second lot, which was undercooked.
