Clarendon Hotel in Dover

We stayed in the Smugglers cabin as a family and it was a wonderful suit. We had everything we needed plus more. I was really surprised with how much the room offered. With a toddler it was perfect. The beach was directly outside so you can't get better than that and the staff were fantastic and friendly. I would 100% recommend this to friends and family. Just to mention the street outside was closed for road works so the traffic was very quiet because of that. We also stayed in Feb/March so out of season.

Booked the Sunrise Suite on Valentine's Day and we had an amazing experience. We enjoyed the bubble bathtub with a glass of prosecco and then we slept like babies in the most confortable hotel bed we've ever been. Not to mention the sunrise view from the room. We will definitely return!

Great, simple hotel. The room was super clean and the bed really comfy. It’s right on the sea front, which is wonderful. Only put four stars for service because its business model is self check in and self check out. However, reception is staffed until 5pm and we were able to leave our bags during the day while we explored, which was really convenient. Really happy with our stay! It’s not luxury but it’s a fair price code its business model, clean, comfortable and heated well!

We booked last minute on a room. No staff on site when we arrived but that didn’t matter as it’s all on keypads and checking in was simple online. Codes worked first time no issue. Very odd layouts but it seems to have been an old pub so makes sense. Room was lovely. A little tatty in places but finished nicely. Dark moody room. Bathroom was very cold with the door in there needing some attention. Would stay again now we know what to expect though.

My daughter and I stayed at the hotel for one night, I booked the Addelam Suite, the room is beautiful, really amazing room, the bathroom with the walk in shower it's a 10! We loved it. The service was nice, We did check in online and got a code to enter building and room so we didn't get to see anybody at all, but when I called them late at night they were very helpful and servicing. The room is located on the ground floor, just by the main entrance so quite noisy, we could hear the cars and people walking in and out the whole night, plus the people in the room above us were very noisy too walking up and down the room for hours from 11pm, very cracky floors so it was quite annoying. We were tired after a day of hiking around Dover and a bus ride to Deal but still couldn't manage to get a restful night. The bed is huge in the room and comfortable but too much disturbance around the room. We would definitely come back but on the top floor better.

This place is fantastic - I only have good things to say. The location is great - in the centre of town and on the beach. The rooms are clean, spacious and comfy (get room 4 if you can - the view over the sea is amazing!) and the staff are absolutely lovely - warm, professional and incredibly accommodating. I was so impressed. Would totally recommend.

I’m sure some of the rooms look like those shown on website, but ours was disappointing. Two very narrow single beds with inches between them. No proper reception and no breakfast facilities. Had to park in public car park behind hotel, then carry cases up and down a labyrinth of steps. Expensive compared to other hotels we used on our tour of Kent.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Clarendon. We stayed in the Smugglers Cabin. It was very clean and had all the things we needed. Great view but couldn't open the window and I can understand that for safety as the room is at street level. So to let air in from time to time we had to leave the main door open for a few minutes. We met some staff and they were very helpful in answering our questions. Lovely place, would book again.

While the hotel was decent, our hearts were captured by the incredible coastal vibes. The location couldn't have been more perfect.
