Visited the garden centre and stayed for lunch. Had a wide variety of food on the menu. Food came quite quickly and staff were very polite. Would recommend it.

This a super cafe. The food is NOT greasy the staff are friendly and very helpful and the food some of which is home made is great. Well worth a visit and the garden centre's great as well.

Mmmm a very disorganised cafe. The queue for ordering was extremely slow everyone was moaning, not sure why it took so long. Bacon roll very good , fish fingers awful.....fried and an odd grey colour inside hence not eaten chips good. Might pop in for coffee as nursery has good selection of plants won't risk lunch.

I took my 14 month old twins and their Grandma to the garden centre café. The cakes and scones looked great (although we didn’t have any this time) and the pots of tea were good... but... the ham, egg and chips we had were very cheap (probably less than £1 worth of ingredients on the plate for more than £8 each!) and incredibly greasy. My twins shared a fish fingers, chips and peas meal and polished pretty much all of it off despite the grease. Unfortunately the cook hadn’t even drained the peas so the fish fingers and chips were sitting in a pool of pea water, a pretty basic mistake. Plenty of high chairs were available and the staff weren’t worried that the twins made a bit of mess on the floor. It was a nicely relaxed atmosphere too. I will happily go back for the cakes and drinks another day but won’t be eating their overpriced and greasy main meals again.

My father and his 2 friends come here regularly on a Sunday and have often commented on the gluten free cakes as I am coeliac but I am often to poorly to join them. I made extra effort however for Father’s Day as I wanted to treat my dad. We all had the lamb roast which was amazing and for once I was able to have it..no gluten.. there was loads of gravy, fantastic as usually you never get enough. I also managed to squeeze in some chocolate cake and cream after. I didn’t manage it all but it was delicious I just couldn’t manage anymore. Will definitely be trying to come again. Making orders with dad for cakes too.. forgot to ask about gluten free scones though. Will be great when the extension is complete.

Great to see that work on the house has started. It will take a while but worth the wait. It`s worth a visit just to have a walk in the grounds.

A lovely, friendly restaurant with fantastic ambience and atmosphere, food of utmost top class and delicious, dedicated staff and a chef that goes the extra mile to personalise your dish with alterations if some food wasn't to our liking.

This is a lovely little dining experience. The food is consistently good and the staff are very pleasant. If you can't always see what you want from the menu they will happily try and provide it.

On each Sunday visit to the cafe there has been one young girl serving while 4 or 5 other staff are out the back in the kitchen. They ignore the long queue while trying to look busy. Several people walk away. The service is dreadful. Customers pointed out the fly on the food in the chiller. It's a shame because it could be good but needs managing properly.

Situated in the basement of the house, the food and drink is fine, but for what you pay, is a little expensive.

Were invited here for a Christmas lunch with friends, we are all members of The National Trust and they had eaten in the restaurant on numerous occasions find it most enjoyable. Should have been 'warned' when we were offered two dates only left prior to Christmas. Our friend being in a wheelchair needed some 'space' sadly they appeared to have crammed so many tables inside there was really no room to sit comfortably. The tables were small, and looked like school dinner tables, with the cutlery and crackers (nice touch) menu, glasses there was no room for much else.Yes the staff were attentive and kind, the food average, frozen sprouts and none of it overly warm, help yourself to desserts which had been 'attacked' by other guests and did not look like that obviously, when first placed there. Overall not rushing back there next year, loud (yes of course Christmas) so loud and noisy could not hear each other speak, bedlam comes to mind.£25.75 per head was it worth it? No!

Ended up in the basement restaurant of Clandon House after a nice tour of the house, gardens and church. Was desperate for a nice cup if tea and the staff were very wasn't even though it was almost closing time. A clotted cream tea was available at a reasonable price with 2 scones, oodles of cream and stawberry jam. Found a little nook with nicely decorated tables and oval windows and was just nice nattering away over a relaxing tea. Toilets were clean and in the basement there was a shop with nice items but a bit expensive as well as an infantry museum which was very interesting.

Daily hot specials, jacket potatoes, soup and enticing sandwiches and wraps. Tea and cakes for a snack but more limited range than many NT cafes. That said it was enjoyable and tasty and fresh.

We visited Hatchlands Park today (Easter Sunday) and stopped off at the Tea Room for coffee and cake. I was hoping for something special, in keeping with the image of the National Trust and in line with the sort of goods sold in their shops.Unfortunately, the victoria sandwich cake that I had was absolutely awful! It was soggy, heavy and also very cold, as if it had either been kept in a fridge or had just been defrosted from frozen (in view of its sogginess, I suspect the latter). The cold, soggy cake was filled with a thin smear of jam and a thick, hard slab of what tasted, and looked like, cheap margarine. It was inedible.Surely the NT can do better than this?

Went for the second year running for pre-Christmas dinner with a group of friends. Excellent surroundings, food well presented, not outrageously expensive, and a first class service.

We have been to Clandon Park Restaurant twice in a week and although the menu was the same the food was really tasty and well presented on both occasions. The staf are all very good particularly the head waitress Anita?. The service was also good in spite of serving a large party on both occasions. We would gladly recommened this restaurant for Christmas celebrations and the restaurant food.

Cold cold cold. Such a pity. This could be a great foodie pub but it's cold and uninviting. Will not be back

The Ivy chain boasts lovely restaurants, but the heavy standard menu needs rethinking. Not a salad in sight unless you just want a starter. Service was slow and ungracious - we were made to feel it was a nuisance our being there. But, the restaurant itself is lovely, the atmosphere great and if you want cottage pie etc, you’re in the right place!

This was just really excellent, fresh, simple food. Two starters (aubergine patlican I think, and a simple feta salad, followed by a couple of lamb shish. Everything was delicious and meat was super tender. Highly recommended. Service was also just right.
